Talented craftsmen. Supporting students! I visit frequently.
This shop has a wonderful collection of quality handmade items, many made by the students of Berea College. The sales of the items help fund scholarships for students from Appalachia - a fact that i include when I give a wedding gift from the store. I am a big fan of what this college continues to accomplish as they educate students academically and also have them learn a skill ranging from pottery making to running a hotel. (The school’s historical hotel is walking distance from the log house store.). Berea is delightful town that is one of my favorite places to visit. If you go, I highly recommend lunch at the hotel then stop at the shops on the way to the log house. From there ask for directions to the art district (a short drive away). I’ll definitely return once Covid is under control.
One of a kind finds! All handmade and beautiful. A little pricy but worth it for something you cant find anywhere else!
Great customer service, beautiful arts and crafts. My kiddos loved their stone animals, and I cant wait to use my chip and dip bowl!
Love the story of Berea College and the craftsmanship of the students can’t be beat.
Unique, eclectic collection of craft items, with a variety of prices. You can afford to buy something, and its probably the place to get that really special item on which you dont mnd the splurge! I love the framed mirrors (as indicated in the pic), especially the ones with the delicate pops of mother-of-pearl inlay! But they are upwards of a thousand-and-change dollars!
Crafts from all over especially students. Prices a little high.
Very disappointed. Not like it used to be. Very low inventory. Couldnt tell what if anything was made at the school. Many things were mass production items available anywhere.
Beautiful artisinal faire. Much of it coming from the students of Berea College. A store for practical art.
Great selection. American made items. Lovely handcrafted pottery, woodworking items, soaps, handmade socks. Will Shop here again.
Just a great big ol place full of locally made stuff. Everything from a coffee scoop to tables. Be sure to go check it out. Lots of cool stuff to browse through. I bet there is something for everyone here. Great place.
Loved the little craft gallery. Landscape was very inviting. One of the unsettling hands is on the corner lot, painted blue with mystic looking beads and an eye.
Stop by. Shop. Help the students.
Recently bought some kitchen items from Log House gallery and they are amazing. I get so many compliments on them, especially the hand hewed spoons and walnut cutting board. Thank you for the great products, I know I will have them for a long time. I will always come back.
Great location and quality crafts. Almost too much to look at. Staff has always been friendly and helpful.
A beautiful shop selling products mostly handmade by Berea students. If you dont wanna shop, it is still worth just having a look.
I love looking at the homemade crafts! I bought a blown glass Christmas ornament and was able to look through some really great pieces of pottery as well.
My first visit. I was very impressed with the quality of items for sale. The selection was great. I started my Christmas shopping early. The retail help was friendly and helpful. I will be stop again on my way through.
So much great quality craft things!!!
Got some delicious spice mixes here.Lots of beautiful things to see.
Beautiful store from top to bottom. Gift prices range from a few dollars to over a thousand dollars and its hard to find something not beautiful or functional. Workers were students from the college and were able to answer all questions I had. Bathrooms available. Will definitely return.
Photo is of a woven purse. Unique and pretty. Seemed way overpriced for rural Kentucky.
The store has a wide variety of handmade items. Prices are reasonable.
Nice local arts and crafts.
Many beautiful hand crafted items. I bought a nice steampunk bracelet.
As with all things in life the log house was in need of a face lift or maybe it was liposuction. Either way when we visited yesterday they were busy working in one of the large front rooms. The entry area made me pause because I wasnt sure if they were even open or not but thought the worst that could happen is I get kicked out. Lol. A sign posted in the front lawn would be nice. I didnt go upstairs because of the busyness of the front entry. I was afraid I would knock over something expensive and then Id have to run. But all in all it was fine and as always I did find at least one item I felt I couldnt possibly live without.Im sure that the construction is almost done (I saw the new carpet in the entry) so they should have everything back and decorated before Halloween.
Perfect place to purchase locally made wares! Something for everyone. The staff could not have been nicer.
AMAZING hand made Kentucky crafts! Definitely worth a stop!
One of my favorite places to go to in Berea. Great place for Christmas shopping. Prices are high but so is the quality.
Great place to buy original art and crafts.
Huge selection of crafts. Within walking distance of Berea College and shops.
A must see place for wonderful art work
Beautiful building. A historical place to visit in Berea. Very nice arts and crafts that are available for purchase. Tons of things for anyone to enjoy.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Lots of neat stuff to look at.
Love the shop, gorgeous mirrors, Amish- like furniture & Ale 8-one for only one dollar! A classic stop in Berea- would love to decorate with many items in this place.
So many awesome things, especially the college crafts.
Local handmade craft objects. Good quality. Interact with students.
This place is like an Emporium with many many rooms of a variety of local handmade and other items. If you can only visit one place and Berea, this would be a good one as it has many many Crafters products.
Lots of beautiful crafts and more
Tons of local crafts reasonably priced.
This store belongs to Berea College and the items are all handmade and high quality. The prices are expensive, but each item is first quality.
Great place to visit, very nice people!!
Great variety of local and student made crafts. Relaxed environment and friendly service
The gallery was undergoing inventory when I was in Berea in January so I had the opportunity to swing by on my way home from summer travels and spent a pleasant 2+ hours. Though I certainly found plenty to purchase I was suprised at the amount of non-Kentucky /Appalachia crafts in the gallery. Im a collector of Wallace Nutting prints and was suprised to learn of his relationship with Berea. I was particularly interested in seeing pieces of his furniture donation and pictures. I was hugely disappointed in the gallery room display of the articles. Its presentation was more like an afterthought and a flea market room.
Beautiful craft handiwork by Berea faculty and students.
Always amazing! Ive been coming here over 25 years.
Great finds. So glad we stumbled upon this store.
Treasure trove of beautiful hand made items.
Handmade crafts from local artists.
Lovely handmade merchandise, pleasant helpful staff.
Wood items and brooms. Tucked away near the train station gift store and tourism building. Crafters on site! Friendly!
