These guys are AWESOME!Driving up to Washington from my home in California, I had a wheel bearing in my Outback die and rapidly deteriorate. I limped into Bend and while the dealership suggested I’d have to leave my car for a week or more and just come back and get it, the kind, friendly and professional folks at Suba Guru got my subie in and fixed on a busy Friday, fixed and back on the road (at a good discount compared to dealer prices too) as soon as they could given my situation.I am only disappointed in that I don’t live in Bend and can’t bring my car here all the time to get serviced!I would highly recommend anyone in the area (or even if you’re passing through with a need for service) to go to Suba Guru for their auto care needs! Thanks so much guys, I really appreciate your help in getting me both to my intended destination and back home!

They were very informative and polite, well the lady was, the gentleman at the other computer is a little rude, I believe that if someone answers your question you can at least be polite enough to reply with a simple thank you or ok not turn around and totally ignore the reply. I must point out I was visiting from California and took my sisters car to be serviced for the trip down. This particular experience was not so great, I completely understand the white population in Oregon they get their message across by being politely and underlying rude to express prejudices against other races. I wish my family had other options to take their vehicle to and not have to put up with this type of horrible customer service a d blatant prejudice. Sorry to be so honest.

Ive been very pleased with the folks at Subaguru! My relationship with them began with the ultimate of repairs... replacing my engine.Since then, Ive taken my car to them for all scheduled maintenance. They have been transparent every step of the way. They have even made clear when repairs were unnecessary, even when the dealership was suggesting they be done. (Sometime during all of this, my car was in the dealership for a recall fix... and of course, was returned with the suggestion of a bunch of unnecessary work... such as brake replacement, when I still had 60+%life on my brakes.)My only negative would be that they dont have any weekend or after hours availability, so even an oil change requires that I work it into my workday. (They do however, allow for after hours drop off and pick up.)

I was a little nervous taking my vehicle to SubaGuru because Ive been to a different mechanic in town (I wont mention any names) that charged me for 4 hours of diagnostic work, threw a new battery in, and never fixed the problem it had $$$. I left feeling so defeated, and robbed.I dropped my car off at SubaGuru and a couple hours after dropping it off, I got a call addressing all of my concerns (transmission leak, steering leak, [both tipped off from the lube place I got my oil change at] and a vibration when taking off from a stop). After they looked over it, it did indeed have a transmission leak, they assured me its an easy fix and pretty common with this era. They also let me know I dont have a steering leak at all. And the wobble is for something that is not worth fixing yet, but let me know it should probably be fixed in the future. Its an intermittent issue, so not a big deal.I am so thankful for SubaGuru, for the information, and not throwing parts at my car and guessing. The transmission leak is an affordable fix, and being a single parent- That is very important to me.Thanks SubaGuru! I will be back for all of my car maintenance needs!!

Did a big overhaul on my car. Quoted me less than everywhere else and they beat their own expected time frame til completion. Charged less than I was quoted at, and when I told them I needed to bring the car in to get worked on after Friday due to a appointment at les schwab for a wheel alignment the guy (Marshall I believe?)told me he would do a wheel alignment for free for me since I was getting a lot of work done already. Would recommend these guys over the dealership. Diagnostics test was 65% of the price the dealership quoted me at. Im sure they charged me 60% or less than the dealership would have for all the work. The work is also warrantied. I feel secure with my decision to go with them. Thanks guys. Deserve 5 star rating

I have taken my 2008 Subaru to Subaru Guru since 2012 with excellent service. I took that same car there this week for the 120,000 service which cost me $700. The day I picked it up, the steering wheel chattered just as it did when I dropped the car off. I am not sure they did anything for that $700 as the next morning the five year old battery was dead. Apparently, they didnt even test it. I wont be going back.

No hassle, fair assessment, and reasonable pricing. Really appreciate that they didnt push me to fix an issue that will become a greater problem later, but rather explain my options. I opted to get it fixed and it drives like new. Trust goes a long ways and when I need a future inspection of anything, theyll be the first place I go to.

I took my car there wanting them to look through it to make sure it was in good condition and to see if it needed any general maintenance. They told me my check engine light was on for my O2 sensor, which I already knew, and told me I needed new rear wheel bearings but the rest of my car was in good condition. I had them take care of both of those for about $1500....pretty pricey..My car would run fine without the O2 sensor being replaced. They didnt even look at my battery or spark plugs, which BOTH needed to be replaced and is the first place to look at in an engine to see if it needs maintenance. Theyre pretty good car repair men but I do not recommend them if you need an actual mechanic.

My car was in extremely bad shape when it ended up at SubaGuru and the customer service and mechanics here were AMAZING! I spoke with Marshall many times, who was extremely considerate and helped me make well-informed decisions every step of the way towards getting my car back on the road. They were also considerate about time constraints I had and cost of repair.I usually avoid mechanics due to fear of feeling taken advantage of (evidenced by the state my car was in when it ended up here) but these guys truly are awesome. Great prices, really really friendly and efficient staff. Take your subaru here!

As a customer, it was an absolute delight to speak with the manager Matt about my vehicle. I had SubaGuru inspect the vehicle prior to purchasing it and both Matt and his team were forthright about the issues with the car and what it would take, and cost, to complete the necessary repairs. They even squeezed me into their hectic schedule to inspect the vehicle THAT DAY. The car was in the shop for a day and a half and is now running beautifully. I cant thank them enough for their superior customer service, outstanding communication, honesty, and expertise in performing the maintenance and repairs my vehicle required to get it back into shape. If you live in Central Oregon and arent taking your Subaru to SubaGuru, youre making a mistake. I highly recommend this business. We bought a 2014 Subie off their lot last November. We looked over the cars, no salesperson lurking or pressuring. They gave us the keys for the two we wanted to test drive. We decided to buy one, after the test drives and then they told us everything they would be doing to the car to make it as good as possible. That was essentially a 60K mile tune up and new tires. They even give a warranty on the engine / drive train for 3 years. The only catch is that the buyer has to get the oil changed every 3K miles. No problem! I called one day, got in for oil change the next day. In and out on time. I questioned why 3K instead of 5K, and was told its because we live in Bend, Oregon where it is very dusty and a lot of particles in the air near the roads due to the cinders put on the roads in the winter for traction. Which is totally true. I am happy to support this local business. They provided us a very good car in very good condition at a reasonable price.

Weve been bringing our Forester to SubaGuru for years. They are always so friendly, responsive, and things get done in a timely manner. The most recent visit was an oil change & a strange noise we heard when the AC was on. The folks at SubaGuru spent a lot of time looking for the source of the noise & ruled out anything serious, step by step. Problem is likely to have been a clip that had broken off & they replaced it. They did all that without charging us. Amazing place. Highly recommend!

We were staying in Bend for New Years. Made the mistake of leaving our dog in the car and she freaked out with the fireworks going off and managed to chew through some of the wires under the passenger floor well of our 2013 Impreza. The car had no power steering and every single dash light was going off. Left a message on New Year’s Day when they were closed begging for an emergency appointment the next day. They called us shortly after opening on 01/02 and were able to squeeze us in that morning. Had it fixed within an hour of looking at it. So incredibly grateful to them!

I had the pleasure of working here briefly and got to know the team a little bit. My girlfriend is a long time customer here and her Subaru is holding up fantastically well. Its an honest shop with some of the most helpful guys youll come to trust. I hear some concerns from others through reviews or in conversation about it being on the expensive side of auto work. I can agree on the fear of looking at a big number to pay for your vehicle but seeing how thorough they drive themselves to be, it makes sense. Ive worked in some shops that I didnt feel great about what was given back to the customer. But this shop, behind the scenes, is a team that strives to return honest hard work.

No other auto shop does this. they dont want you to know whats wrong with your car for fear you might go somewhere else or actually fix it yourself. Sorry guys not everybody can afford thousands of dollars to get their car fixed they just need to know whats wrong with it. Took daughters new to us used Subaru 3 times to them. 1st time I asked them to check the car over and see why the airbag light was on and to check the suspension and anything else they might see. They delivered the car and didnt even look at the seat belt light, but requested to and fixed all the suspension issues they found. 2nd time, I told them that the car might have had a front end impact and that the airbags might have deployed. They apologized for not catching the airbag issue, looked into it and said they could fix the likely sensor that was causing problem. They changed sensor, but didnt resolve problem. I asked again if they could determine if the airbags had deployed and they said they couldnt tell, but said that Portland dealer could if I drove over there, but not to go to the local dealer since they were not trustworthy. Because they gave me no real information and told me to go to Portland, I never resolved the issue. A few months went by and for some reason I went back a 3rd (and last time time) last week and told them that I thought the starter was out since the car wouldnt start frequently when warm. They came back and said that they couldnt reproduce the problem and that it was probably the battery, even though I had just checked it prior to bringing it to them and it was good. However, they said, there was a whole new list of suspension issues I should fix. I said that they didnt focus on the reason I brought the car to them in the first place so we left. My daughter got stuck 3 blocks away because the car wouldnt start after briefly stopping at a store. Faced with either towing the car back to the shop for a 4th time or swapping out the battery for a new one just to rule that out, I drove over, met my daughter, swapped the battery and sure enough the car would not start. I decided that SubaGuru was not worth listening to anymore and waited until the car was cold, drove back over to the parking lot, got the car started and I drove it over to a new mechanic who listened to me the first time when I said that I thought it was the starter. Sure enough, they changed the starter and the car is back to normal. It is my opinion that SubaGuru doesnt listen to its customers, they are cavalier with a persons time and money and are overly self-important. They do not seem to me to be good mechanics and I have dealt with both good and bad. I knew the original owners and they would always do the right thing to make sure the problem was resolved. These guys seems like they have other things on their minds. You can do better if you are looking for service in Central Oregon.
