When I have the time I drive farther to go to this Schnucks. Better selection, cleanliness, better meat, friendlier employees. I live in Cahokia which has a Schnucks and just a few miles from my house and I do go in there often only because I work a lot, but when I have a full weekend off the Belleville store. Sure, I’ll drive 15 miles versus 2 miles but it’s worth it!

Overall its a good place to shop. However when it came to checking out, not our cashier but the one in front of her was making my girlfriend feel like she was trying to steal. She had 4, 12 pack cases of soda which she told our cashier already she had 4 of so it would just be easier to scan the same case 4 times like most people do. The cashier in front told my gf that she had 3 more at the bottom of the cart my gf said, I know I already told our cashier then proceeds to tell our cashier the same thing that she already told her and that she already told OUR cashier. My girlfriend is grabbing stuff out of the cart then starts telling her what about this. My gf finally had enough and said, Excuse me, Im not done grabbing stuff out of my own cart Ill put it up there when I get to it. The store is a great place but that cashier was very annoying and very self assuming and really made my girlfriend feel like she thought that she was trying to steal for absolutely no reason. We may just find a different store to shop at.

I am impressed with the choices and selection at there meat counter. Especially impressive given it was late on a Saturday night.

I was there this morning and I had about 25 items I was told that I wasn’t allowed to use the self checkout because I had too many items even though there was no one else using self check out and there were 3 cashiers and 20 people waiting in line. How does this even make sense? I told the lady I wanted to use self checkout because it was easier for me with having kids with me than waiting in line, she didn’t care. So while this lady was worried about the rules rather than using common sense she wasn’t wearing a mask, which was posted on the door that it’s mandatory for Schnucks employees.

I went in to look at ice cream and wound up getting one of those spicy Charlies pizzas. These things are amazing and even better when you add Franks. The only reason Im knocking off a star is because of all the dirty looks you get when youre not wearing a mask. Never mind whether youre vaccinated or not they still want you to wear a stupid mask and thats just not going to happen

Great place to shop, it is totally a different experience than when I shop in Cahokia. The experience may be different because of the size of the store. I was here and needed to find a few items, the nice young man walked me to both places where the items where. Thing about excellent customer service, especially a young man taking time to serve an senior citizen.😊😊😊

Decent store, although the inventory could definitely use some work. Staff are always quick to help when needed most of the time thankfully. Shopping cart storage is quite organized and parking is decent. When it comes to food, if you see something you like, Id highly advise you grab what you like while its still there before its gone because the popularity with this place is quite high, especially with it being next door to an outdoor movie theater! Seems theyre trying their best to keep up 😅

Its my local grocery store and usually have what I want and need and friendly service.

Every time I go there is get worse. Terrible prices, Terrible employees, Terrible everything. Departments closing early, employees still in the department before its closing hour but cannot be bothered to help you. Specifically the deli department on 9-15-2021 at 6:53pm. Other times I have been yelled at for not knowing the self check out well enough for melons. Been pushed or bumped out of the way by stockers. Most times carts are not available. Customers seem to trash the store and no one cleans up. It is a mess. Whoever is in charge should be ashamed of themselves. My business is now going g to ruler and target (since schnucks wants to charge more anyway)

Lines were long...but the cashier was pleasant. So glad to still have cashiers at this store.

This Schnucks has to be the busiest Schnucks Ive seen. The staff works with a fast, friendly efficiency that is rare today in the grocery store business. Keep up the good work guys I appreciate you.

I shop here for things I cant get at Ruler or Aldi. Otherwise, I wouldnt. The aisles are narrow, which stinks when you have to use a scooter to shop. And Im not sure how they can call themselves the friendliest store in town. Not in my opinion.

Tonight was horrible. 3 baggers crowding around a check lane conversation about zodiac signs. Not assisting all check lanes (only 2 were open). The 1st checker was bombarded with customers, while the 2nd checker was chatting it up with the 3 baggers. Bad customer service on their part. Its definitely a change of pace in Schnucks, and its not good. This grocer use to be the place to shop. The quality of product and service was why people shopped with Schnucks, now its a hot mess.

A warning to those who appreciate COVID protocols: while shopping, I encountered 2 families of 3 persons each without masks. I asked the store manager to take action. She was aware of them and responded that it was store policy NOT to respond. After speaking with HQ customer service today, 07 Dec 2020, I found that it is the policy of this Schnucks, as well as corporate HQ, NOT to enforce COVID protocols within the store, even though the store has a pharmacy (catering to persons with medical needs) within.

Its alright for a store and i love schnucks

This store always seems to feel cluttered and dirty. The associates are not friendly at all. I have never been greeted and when I use the check out with a cashier they barely say hi. When I use the self checkout the associate just stands behind her counter staring at me, no smile, no cleaning the pin pads, scanner, etc... Most other stores disinfect the register areas often. I have had to wait in a long line often and I have never seen them clean this area. I only shop at this store when I have to, last minute items, etc...otherwise Ill make a point to drive a further distance to a different store to do my regular shopping.

Went to deli tonight about 7:15-7:30 and they were closing down. Sign on counter said that they were open til 9 pm. Lady behind counter told me, very snootingly, that they were closing up. When I pointed out the sign, she told me that they close whenever they want. Lost my business at this deli, will go to Swansea or Carlyle Ave. Schnucks for deli from now on. Reason I gave it 2 stars was other employees were much nicer

Wanted pork steaks that are on add. They had roasts, none sliced. There was a meat cutter behind working the fresh meats case but apparently offering to cut a roast into steaks for a customer is too menial a task.

Ive been doing the bulk of my grocery shopping here since 1992. The employees are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful and the food is high quality & fresh.

Good variety of brands of most groceries. Some employees could be friendlier.

Update: Generally go here for my groceries. I have a child with food allergies so the gluten free isle is nice. However they keep changing the products and my child is allergic to the newer items. Will have to shop elsewhere to accommodate his needs.

They’re was absolutely no social distancing Saturday evening. People we’re running around as normal. Except check out, nobody in store supervising people. Also young man at butcher counter doesn’t know how to wrap meat.

Most of the checkers here are the most unfriendly people & the manager is even worse! When the virus was running rampant I was in the store & the checker didn’t wipe the belt or the credit card machine after the person ahead of me. When I questioned her, she said she didn’t have time, it’s done once an hour or so and that if I had a complaint talk to the manager! So when I got home I called the manager & his response was, well if all of you people didn’t shop so much we wouldn’t have to worry about cleaning! He continued to tell me that he has enough food & groceries at his house to last 90 days & I should consider doing the same! I told him I am a senior citizen & I also take care of an elderly lady. My ending comment to him was ... your wish is my command - I will NEVER shop in this store ... and I have not!

The checkout guy was great. However shopping while so many people there was hard. No one moved. They were trying to stock shelves also. No good sales

These workers are not friendly to people with pre-existing conditions, I have horrible ashma and not been able to wear a mask during the pandemic. I went in there with my husband so we could get dinner and they ignored us like the plague. As soon as we walked to the deli we were told we were not able to be helped. I walked out upset and disappointed. I know that covid-19 is real but I also know my limitations at this time, and most stores do not have a problem with me. My advice? You ask for the proof because some of us actually have problems that prevent us from doing certain things. I will not be returning to this store

Lots of people without masks. Families of 5-6 people shopping all together. None of this was addressed by mgmt or employees!

Friendly staff and a clean organized store

I dont understand during the busy time there is on average 3 to 4 lanes open and the self checkout open . The self checkout has people with full carts that take longer and the regular lanes for almost back up to the pharmacy . I done with the west end Schnucks . With the only grocery store on the Westend Schnucks need to set up their customers service. They are plenty busy to pay for service to their customers .
