Horrible customer service! They treated me like the typical stereotype that a woman doesnt know anything about cars. Except, I grew up in a car garage because my dad is a mechanic and I now also have a father-in-law who is a mechanic. I know if my car makes a noise or sound that it shouldnt. I may not know everything about cars, but I am not ignorant about them. And that is how I was treated. My husband had to be on the phone for them to listen to what services I wanted! I will never go back!

Great place for repairs on a muffler system. My daughters car broke an exhaust pipe and got very loud. We took it in and Discount Muffler called within 4 hours with options for repair. They were honest enough to suggest the exhaust system pipes looked newer so they could repair or replace. We chose to repair since it was less than half of a replacement. Options are always nice for older vehicles. Highly recommended.

I called the owner about making a custom piece for a exhaust pipe. He was the only person who would do it. He cut, flared, exspanded, cleaned it up and welded the part for me and hardly charged me anything ! Great guy, great place. Very friendly...I would recommend Discount to anyone.

I needed a muffler real bad on Friday after calling several places that were referred to me, no one had what I needed until someone that I called, said have you tried Discount Muffler and Brakes? I said no and asked if he had the number. I called and told the young man what I needed and he said, yeah and I can even do it right now. It was 4::05 and they closed at 5. I said I can be there in about 5 minutes. He told me what I needed and at 5:00 he was done. When I drove away my car was so quiet, I couldnt hear it running. What a great place! I would recommend Discount Mufflers and Brakes to anyone. Before leaving I grabbed their card.

These guys were so great. It was my first time needing work done on my van since moving to Bay City, MI. I thought it was my muffler that went bad but it was something that cost more than expected to repair. They showed me what the problem was and had me up and running in no time flat. The cost isnt something that they had any control over and it is old van so I wasnt in anyway upset. I wanted it done right and it was. They know what they are doing and made me feel so welcomed as a new man in town. I will be going back to them whenever something comes up and their services are needed again.

We really needed to get brakes for our van...and I mean a whole new set for the back...the first place we went to quoted us at just under $1,000...so we gave these guys a call and they charged us half the price and got us in the same day. I was given an honest assessment and estimate. Not only did they repair/replace what I needed -they also brought to my attention items that were ready to be replaced (new tires and air filter) I walked out a happy customer. Brakes gave out while on the road, making it unsafe to drive. We pulled in, barely stopped with brake fluid leaking all over the ground, and asked for help. We were told we would have to leave the car there and they would get to it eventually and call us because all they were currently accepting was drop-offs. Having no other way home, we chose to risk limping the car home instead. The brakes are still broken and we now have no way to get it to someone to fix. What kind of place turns away an emergency like that? Ill never go back.

A couple of weeks ago I had them put some new brake lines on my old Ford Tempo. They did a good job at an average price. But as a result of some miscommunication by them, or misunderstanding by me, there was a bit of damage done to one of my tires. After talking with them about it, they took full responsibility and reimbursed me fully for the tire. I was actually only looking for half of it, as I believe I didnt follow through with as many questions as I should have. Ill give half the money back. My point was to just let them know there was an issue, and I believe there could have been better communication. They did beyond what I was looking for, and I am impressed with customer satisfaction they wanted to maintain. Of the maybe ten jobs Ive had them do, this was the first time I ever had an issue with their work. I am impressed with how they wanted to make it right. I will continue to have them work on my vehicles. I know some people have posted how D.M. & B. can seem a bit brash or lecturing, but I know they care about doing a good job, and arent afraid to admit that they arent perfect. Thanks for caring guys, I mean that.

I felt like I was in good hands with Gary. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He showed me the rusted brake lines causing the problem. He had his team replace the brake lines. Very fast service. He then showed me the repair when it was completed. I am very pleased with the fast and honest service I received from Gary and his team. Average area pricing. Covid restrictions making it feel a little unfriendly. But hey, what do we expect during the restrictions that are placed on us. Fellow that answered the phone was friendly other wise and at least they are open for business.

Staff at Discount identified the problem, helped me to understand how it should be fixed, and gave me a suggestion to go back to the dealership to have them fix the problem for free because they were to blame. Discount M&B did not try to sell me anything and also did not charge me for looking at my car. I called to see if they were willing to weld on a couple of muffler hangers. I like to save a little bit of money and do my own work. I work at a parts place so I can get parts cheap. He said he had to look at it; so I drove down. All I was initially looking for was a estimate. The owner drives it into the bay and puts it on the lift.He then starts talking to another customer about life while looking up in exhaust catalogs to check my work. He tells me I have the wrong muffler, even though I looked it up myself, and it is on wrong. I didnt come down for a lecture. So I told him I want to know if he will weld the hangers and how much? He continues to argue with me and exactly like another reviews said be combative. So I tell if he is not willing to do the job then I want my car off the lift. He does so and I come out to leave and he is still trying to school me. I told him I disagree and leave.I went to Muffler Man 10 mins away and got it down quick, easy and cheap. I understand that he didnt want to do the job but he wasted my time and I felt disrespected. Save yourself the wasted time and hassle of this place and go to Muffler Man.

Called to get brakes repaired for company vehicle and was pleasantly surprised that they woulnt charge an outrageous amount to fix it. Gary explained every thing I needed and why and did the job in the time he said would take. Thoroughly satisfied.

Very poor customer service. 1 car in the shop 3 open bays and it took 2 hours to quote me for work that was not needed. They Moved other customers ahead of me that just arrived for an oil change. Then after I refused to be overcharged for a part that was not bad they refused to change my oil. This is probably the worst shop in bay city.

If I could give them 0 stars I would there very rude to you and when you try asking for a print out of what they say is wrong wit your vehicle they give attitude bout doing so and keep saying they dont have a printer when I know they do being I stood there till I was handed a printed out estimate of what all they said was wrong with my car.
