What a pleasant surprise, so glad I stopped in. Service was gracious and kind. The food is super fresh and of high quality. The variety of the menu means there is something here for everyone. Everything Ive tried has been delicious. The place itself is spacious with plenty of room to get things done. Thank you for this wholesome offering; a rare treasure to be sure!

I loved my experience at The Southern Grind Cofe. The decor is so fresh, inviting, powerful, artsy, and beautiful. I had a caramel macchiato, and later, a chicken salad sandwich. They were both delicious. The atmosphere was very friendly. Everyone that walked in the door smiled and spoke. It was as if we were all family. I will definitely visit in the future.

This coffee & lunch shop is a gem! We really enjoyed our time there. Good hot chocolate, tasty lemon pound cake, & delicious mango smoothie all for a good price. There is comfortable seating that is spread far apart for covid-19. We liked the sofa. 😊. It is a small local coffee shop with local artwork & a small sound stage area set up for live music.

Warm, nutty, earthy scents of the perfect blend accompanied with sweet sounds are your welcome mat. The decor is thoughtful and sentimental. The space is open and free flowing, making it the perfect place for studying or catching up with friends.

Stopped in for a minute to pick up some tea and ended up having a really nice visit. Got an iced coffee to go - It was perfect with a shot of agave nectar from the cozy condiment bar. The atmosphere and ambiance are rich in culture. What a great community spot!

I first heard of this lovely, quaint Coffee House when I attend a Yoga + Tea event. I instantly fell in love with it and the owner was so kind and professional. Ill be back again! If you havent gone, do yourself a favor and patronize this lovely establishment!

Absolutely love this place. Great coffee, smoothies, and I even love the veggie selection; very tastee. Im not much for anything vegetarian, but I tried it and absolutely loved it. This place is a gem in the community. Love the art and historical artifacts. Great jazz playing in the background. A great place to relax and be in solitude or have conversations with friends. You will not be disappointed.

Had a great chat with the owner. The new tea I tried tasted great and the natural fruit drinks in the cooler I highly recommend trying. All in all, it was a great stop!

Now this is a diamond in the rough.From a business standpoint, sure there are better geographic locations with better parking, but for a coffee lover who enjoys ambiance and originality you just wont find a better local brewhouse.If youre lucky, Horatio (the proprietor) will be there when you visit and dont you dare have a cup of coffee when you arrive, hell promptly dispose of it and make you a cup of Baton Rouges finest.Southern Grind, Theres history in every cup.

This coffee shop is amazing and very convenient. Its right next to the school. The owner is very nice and helpful and the atmosphere is great and very quiet and comfortable. They also have food and vegan options which I look forward to trying. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

A carefully, beautifully curated spot with the perfect urban flair; the artwork, the ambiance...they leave you speechless on entry. Then, omgoodness the craftsmanship that this coffee tastes like is beyond comparison! A rich, fresh bean unbothered by the gentle overlay of sugar & milk. I remember Horatio from his years of curating the perfect drink at SULC. I was in undergrad, but I came to SULC almost everyday for his #coffee | The tradition remains, and his skills have only flourished in the time since. #thankyou
