I loved it here! Theres an outdoor deck with an outlet for working outdoors. The bamboo wall blocks out some noise and provides some privacy. The inside is well spaced with a few comfy chairs.

The place is cute with the outdoor space and the service was great! It’s my neighborhood spot so I really wanted to like it, but the vanilla latte I ordered made me nearly spit it out. It was bitter. So I don’t know if something was bad like the flavoring or milk but I couldn’t drink it. I tried to sip on it on the way to work but I eventually tossed my nearly $6 drink. Which says a lot and it made me sad and frustrated cause I really needed caffeine that morning. I’m not against trying it out again but I’ll definitely try my drink before I get in my car next time just in case I have to tell them I can’t drink this and ask if they can fix it.

Do you like internet? Do you like comfortable seating? Do you like parking? Well then look somewhere else because this is not the coffee shop for you! Why nitpick on this? Because when coffee shops like City Roots and Brew-haha, hell even Starbucks exist- this spot is terrible. The coffee is roasted in house and is not terrible, but half the reason to go to a coffee shop for most patrons is to have a calming experience or conversation or to get some work done. Which reminds me, the tables are EXTREMELY small. Im just trying to find a reason to go back and when other venues exist that do a way better job I just cant. Sorry GD coffee, it seems like youre still stuck in the 2000s, but hey, maybe you like it back there.

Love this place! Great coffee and delicious baked goods! The staff is super cute and friendly. I love the patio area but my only complaint is that smoking is allowed and I am allergic to smoke. Its not cool when I want to get some fresh air and I am stuck having to breathe in other peoples smoke. Otherwise, the atmosphere is lovely and its one of my favorite places to do work and study.

Quiet and relaxing with friendly staff and great coffee. Most of the customers appeared to be Garden District residents, with a handful of LSU students. Theres plenty of space inside and outside to read, study, or catch up with your friends. The outdoor patio area is clean and cozy, with some tables covered by a wood awning so you dont bake in the sun. Prices were very fair. They also sell several varieties of their own whole-bean coffee roasted in-house. Overall a great place to satisfy your coffee fix for people all ages.

Classic coffee shop that does everything well. Beans are roasted in house regularly, so their characteristic medium and dark roasts are rich and flavorful. Limited food options--mostly super-sweet desserts like slices of cake. Plenty of space and wifi for working. The outside patio is big and pleasant, though you may way to steer clear if youre sensitive to cigarette smoke.

This is my neighborhood coffee spot, but I would still come here if it werent so convenient. I occasionally come in for a drink - I love sitting on the patio with a chai latte on cool nights. But more often, I buy beans here. The coffee is solid, and the ambience reminds me of a 90s sitcom coffee shop. Its not fancy or artisanal - just good coffee. The only thing I dont love is the food. There are a lot of sweets (and Naked Juice), so if thats your thing, youll love it. But if youre looking for something more hearty or healthy, youll be out of luck. But overall a great place to grab a cup of coffee with friends or by yourself.

After moving from New Orleans I thought this place was like the shops back home. Maybe some fresh juices, chicory coffee, natural sweeteners other than sugar...ah perhaps. This place has improved a lot since becoming Garden District Coffees! The atmosphere is really great and it is always busy, though never loud. I really appreciate Garden District. Its wifi may be slow, and it may only have the *third* best coffee in Baton Rouge (Magpie, Highland), but the service is great, there is usually plenty of seating, its quiet, and its open both early and late. When Magpie is packed (almost always), and I dont feel like driving to campus, Garden District is always there, calling my name. Thanks, GD, for holding it down.

I really enjoy sitting outside with my little coffee and sweet treats on the days where it is rather cloudy and not as crowded.I generally get a simple cafe au lait. They sell cake slices, muffins, biscottis, etc, but Im not really a dessert kind of guy. My friends like it though.Usually, I do not stay, but leave as to-go due to how crowded it sometimes is, but there are some days its quieter. The prices are fair and the workers are kind.I recommend giving this place a try if you havent.

To an out of towner, at first glance there seems to be little to this shop... well in the somewhat stark interior there are echoes of decades of pleased customers. GDC is not the first incarnation of this space, but few will remember anything here before (spoiler: yoga studio). The space has changed names and owners a few times and the current management is the best it has seen.... old story .. employee buys out and runs the place better than predecessors.Granita Latte is a hidden gem on the menu.. think frozen mocha latte. yummmm.Oh and those folks in the front patio who look very comfortable may have been there 6 days a week for 2 decades.
