Many people have been telling me what a great hardware store this is but since it is not that close to me, I had not visited. Today I had a problem with my old barbecue grill so I visited them. I was totally impressed with how knowledgeable and customer oriented they were. They understood the problem and completely resolved it, I am grateful to have such a wonderful resource in our community.

This place is top notch. And talk about going above and beyond. I was able to walk in and get help with everything from my outdoor furniture, to my grill, all the way to the nuts, bolts and screws I needed to chores around the house. Talk about a one stop shop! Not to mention the customer service I received as soon as I walked in the door. If you can’t get the help or find what you’re looking for in this place, then that’s a personal problem LOL! It seemed like everyone I spoke to or who helped me were experts in what they were talking about. Not sure who the owner is, but they need to give everybody big, fat raises! Especially in the patio and grill departments. I’ll definitely be back and recommend everyone I know whose looking for anything cooking, outdoor living or hardware related!

This place has got almost everything you need for house, patio, lawn, and garden. They treat you like family every time you go. Private, family owned business run right!

It was a real good experience. The owner of the store showed me around. Me and my wife bought an umbrella today from them outside deck.. we want a doormat. And some other things very friendly and gray service

I purchased a smoker about 7 years ago and I am very happy with it. Well made and the price was very reasonable. They have a wide range of smokers.

I have been a customer of Goodwood Hardware for years. Recently I purchased a Big Green Egg and a ton of accessories as a wedding gift for my daughter. They were great to work with and very knowledgeable about the BGE. I was disappointed when I found out the table we ordered was on unexpected back order. Tracey and the folks there really went out of their way to provide us with a back up loaner table so the gift would arrive in time with a promise to get the table to us as soon as possible. I was delighted when they called us to tell us our table had arrived much sooner than expected - they brought it over and switched it out. Great company and great service from people who care about doing right by their customers.

I use to be a big fan of Goodwood Hardware, not so much anymore. I ordered a Weber Gas Grill, and promised me it would be there at a certain date. Come to find out it was never ordered. Then they said they could convert a natural gas grill to a propane grill. That too was no possible. So be very wary of what Goodwood hardware says the can do....not a good record. For a store that brags about outdoor grill expertise,....not so much.In response to the owners response. The sales person that tried to sell me the Weber Grill that was assembled and made for Natural Gas Only was not trained very well. He should have known that information. He made promises he couldn’t keep. Then, I was told he could convert that grill to propane. I got a call a day later stating that he didn’t know that the store could not legally do that change. So, it is all about training, or the lack of it. That situation made me have to change my plans, and buy from another store. Actually, I ordered it from Amazon and assembled it myself. Works great. Don’t get me wrong, I love Goodwood Hardware. But I will make sure I know more information about what I want before I go there from now on.

I went to Goodwood Hardware & Outdoors today and three women werent wearing masks. I mentioned it to an employee, i mentioned it to the women, and even as they were checking out NO EMPLOYEES said anything to them. When I called and spoke with an employee afterwards to ask what their mask policy was he said, well, its up to them. Great store but super bummed that this is how they are handling the pandemic. Wont be returning.

Lowered my previous 5 star review by one star, as throughout the covid experience, I have yet to see an employee that works behid the counter checking out customers wear a mask other than on their chin, despite state restriction requiring it. Aside from this, my favorite hardware store remains this one! This store has everything that I ever need and information on what would be the ideal tool or product for any odd job I have ever asked about!

This is one of our regular go-to places for our home apparatus needs. They got branded and quality stuff.

Called in advance about Pk Grill and with a we’ll informed staff I was able to find the exact grill I wanted for a good price. When I came in the store and was looking at the grills I was approached by sales staff and asked if I was the person who called earlier. They got the grill I wanted and they even loaded it for me!!! You won’t get this much help at depot or Lowe’s that’s for sure!!!

Staff is super nice and knowledeable, and theyve got a nice selection of items. Pricing seems a bit high on some of the simplest items that are found across baton rouge. I realize theyre an easy stop for many people but another 2-3 minutes of driving can net better pricing.

This store may have the items you want at a price you want, however, I will not return due to poor customer service. I walked in and received not one greeting. The women behind the counter just starred at me. I finally greeted them to break up the awkward silence. Which they reluctantly responded to as, “fine.” I observed five people come in after me, and they all received a joyful, “hello” or “welcome” or “how are you?” The only distinction I could think of between the other patrons and I, was that I was black and they were white.

Like many retail outlets there are a lot of employees that come and go, but there are a couple of cashiers and 2 or 3 sales associates here that really know what is going on . I often use this store for items needed at my customers locations . Ive never encountered a rude employee . A newbie may not have a clue as to what Im looking for, but they will get an associate who does . LOVE this store, only trouble is having to look at those terrific grills and LSU items when I visit, especially the Green Eggs.

For the most part,they have what you need.Not a really big store,but has good selections.

Horrible customer service! I was looking for a specific hook and couldn’t find it so I asked a lady for help and she just told me it would be on aisle 6. I told her I was just there looking for it but couldn’t find it and she just looked at me and said again it’s on aisle 6. Most places would actually help you look to find what you’re there for, but she couldn’t care less.

Customer service is A+ and prices are competitive with the big box stores.

Not only do they provide hardware (usually hard to find items not available in the big box stores) they also provide a huge patio section, a licensed LSU section and a huge BBQ and Grill section. Their kitchen products section is among the best-stocked and well-priced to rival any high-end kitchen store in town.They handle new and existing construction for ordering and installing outdoor kitchens. We ordered a Bull Grill and other appliances when we built our home in 2008. This past year I noticed a hole had formed in the fire box of my grill. I called and spoke with Tracy and learned that the grills fire box was covered under warranty. I arranged for them to pick up my grill and waited for news of completion. Despite the fact my grill had been discontinued, Tracy and her crew were tenacious in seeking the parts needed to rebuild my grill. This process took a little time, but it was worth the wait. My newly rebuilt grill was delivered within 4 weeks and I couldnt be happier.Thank you Tracy and thank you Goodwood Hardware! I have a sense of renewed faith in small businesses that truly care about the customer and the products they sell.

Ive always been a fan of the store especially for LSU products and their outdoor kitchen accessories. However, on the downside, theyre pricey on most everything and DO NOT offer a Veterans discount ☹

I will never step foot in this poorly run store again. I had a jacket that was supposed to be saved for me, but by they time I got there after I called (which was less than an hour), I had to wait at least 5 minutes for them to ask all of the employees there if they knew where this jacket being saved was. Needless to say, someone didnt do there job and they had no clue what I was talking about. Very unorganized.

Too expensive, product I bought was old and no good. Had to return it. Had to fill out paperwork just to do that. Will only use as a last resort.

Always a fun walk around.
