The store is full of really nice vintage equipment. It is a lot of fun to shop around. There are a lot of good reviews for the repair shop.Here is my experience in a nutshell.I dropped off a Carver Receiver for repair February 13, 2021, with a $60 deposit, to get the unit into the repair queue.The receiver had a very bad hum, a couple of broken function switches, and a mismatched control knob. I was told that there is a 30 day backlog and that they would contact me when they were reviewing the receiver.I called in mid-March, they said they would call, they were running behind in the shop.Mid-April a technician called and said he was having trouble finding parts.Mid-May I called and learned that the technician assigned to the job had resigned, and the job was back in the queue for a technician. A week or so later a new technician called and said he was trying to pick up the pieces.Mid-June I called and complained, and offered to help find parts. The technician said that the front panel standoffs were brittle and had broken. He was looking for a donor receiver.July 3, 2021, I picked up the receiver. It looks great, but . . . the functions on the panel and buttons dont match the original.I havent hooked it up yet. I hope everything is working right. I know they did their best for me. If you choose to use them for repairs, I hope you have better luck. I am going to assume that the receiver is working properly. If it is not, I will update this review. Otherwise, I think three stars is fair, even generous.

Superb experience start to finish. Integrated amplifier working perfectly. I also would feel confident purchasing used or new equipment from this retailer.Very helpful and friendly customer service. Reasonable repair costs also.

Fast and thorough service comes at a steep price. I chose to buy the rush service available for $75 extra, which got my CD changer serviced in 1 week rather than the estimated 8 weeks. Communication was excellent. I was called with an estimate and again when the work was completed. Their relatively new location in Middle River, MD is spacious and has plenty of free parking, but its a longer drive coming from points west or south of Baltimore. If you are attached to your audio components and they need servicing, this is the place to go.

Traveled to visit them because they were the only place that was happy to demo a speaker other places had in stock but not on the floor. They opened up some boxes and let me hear what I wanted.I bought speakers, but not the factory stands. When I decided I wanted the stands the next month, the only had the demo models in the same finish. But they boxed them up in factory packing, and gave me a small discount.Fine, knowledgeable people, and I will be back.

APPROXIMATELY 5 WEEKS LATER I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL LETTING ME KNOW THAT THEY HAD NO IDEA AS TO WHERE TO OBTAIN THE NECESSARY PART TO FIX THIS UNIT SO WHAT THAT MEANS IS THAT THE ESTIMATE THAT THE $60 WAS PAID FOR WAS NEVER GIVEN. IT WAS NOT MY FAULT AS THE CUSTOMER THAT THIS SO CALLED VINTAGE AUDIO REPAIR SHOP IS LACKING RESOURCES AS TO WHERE TO OBTAIN PARTS. WHEN I PICKED THE UNIT UP I ASKED FOR MY MONEY BACK SINCE SERVICES WERE NOT RENDERED THAT WERE AGREED UPON WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN THE PROMISED AND PAID FOR ESTIMATE. Quality work by quality people, with a friendly and personal touch. Prompt responses to questions. Reasonable rates, with accurate estimates and timetables. I would not hesitate to use them again.

As I said in my last review, I asked to be accommodated and did not ask to skip the line as the stores response implies. I asked to be put on the list of customers waiting for service (while paying the deposit) and use my still functioning receiver in the meantime. The lack of flexibility clearly shows that customer service is not a priority. I guess it doesnt have to be when you have an 8 week backlog.

Full recap and reset to spec with led lamp upgrade. My dads 1976 Marantz 2235B was in need of a recap after 40 plus years of dutiful service between my father and myself. A few bulbs were out and the power board was about to go but all in all it still sounded great, but I figured I should preemptively do an overhaul and Just Audio and Ed (my tech) did a magnificent job. First and foremost, it sounds and looks great. Ed found some really high quality capacitor kits. He also completely cleaned and polished it, inside and out. Ed did a lot of research to match the tonal qualities of the led replacements to the original lamps; she now glows like I remember as a kid. Then there is the intangible of customer service. Ed seemed genuinely excited to work on this project. He was interested in the receivers provenance and why I wanted it refurbished (to hand it down to my daughter one day). Yes, they might have a backlog of work which may mean turnaround takes a few weeks, but theres a reason theyre busy; its because they rock.

A great busy efficient business.One of only two on the entire East coast that can work on my esoteric amplifier. And only Ed can handle those repairs.I had called twice to double check. Two days later after my last call, I took the drive and brought the amplifier along with the Repair Manual.I was told they are too busy and they cannot work on Boutique Amplifiers.However the lady managing the front of house, re-considered as I had the impossible to find Repair manual.The technician is an old-time guru and was recommended by name. He communicated effectively and kept me up to speed on his findings.We discussed repairs and recommendations. Three weeks later, I got an update that the work is done. The cost was VERY high. The cost is justified as the Amplifier is a 90 lbs 400 Watts a channel/8Ohms Class A behemoth and had to be taken apart to perform the work. The hours are well justified. AND APPRECIATED.However, I would have liked to get the estimate beforehand, as the cost was 50% of a complete rebuild by another company that really knows these amplifiers as the owner was the assistant designer at the company that made these amplifiers.I have not hooked up the amp and played it yet. However I have faith that Ed did a GREAT thorough job.Bottom line: I understand that the Pioneer and Marantz, etc are the business bread and butter for repairs and upgrades. Many shops do these. And I am sure Just Audio do an exceptional job with these.BOTTOM LINE: If you have a unique and cherished piece of gear; The HIGH END gear. bring it here.

I followed Just Audio in social media for a while waiting for the right time to get some equipment from them and finally one showed listed in their website which Im beyond impressed with the performance of the QX-9900, Just Audio team are truly professionals, they packed the equipment very well so it arrives in good condition. They fixed my old cassette deck, and gave my old Korg Poly 800 a good cleaning inside. It turned out to be the power supply that no longer worked... not the keyboard. My only regret is that it took over a month for them to get to it, and it was expensive. $320 to repair both units but, otherwise all good. I just hope that they last and were worth the effort.

These guys know their stuff and always willing to help. Needed to replace the lamps in my Marantz amp and they had everything I needed including some advice on the best way to tackle the job. Love the new location and all the gear on display including the vinyl for sale.

Look around you and you will realize that there are not many companies like Just Audio in this region perhaps in the nation. I strongly commended the company for taking care of the community and beyond. I don’t want to trash my old Yamaha receiver amplifier, and Just Audio brought it back to life.I lived in Howard county and a counterpart company recommended the company to me because he said, “our company don’t fix any equipment as old as yours.” While I was there, a man brought his equipment from Pennsylvania for fixing. This tells me that they are doing something right. If you have any old amps, or you are looking for one, you can get it at their store at a reasonable price.They promised six weeks turn around and they adhere to it. Keep up the good job.

Have a Korg Kronos that was both out of warranty but would not boot up. Just Audio was able to fix it and it has been running great since. Great guys and great experience.

Tried to get my receiver looked at here. They required a 60 dollar deposit and had an eight week backlog. I asked if I could pay the deposit and bring the receiver back in a few weeks. They said no and I said no thank you. Wish I hadnt disconnected my receiver in the first place. I guess they dont want/need new business

I had a 30+ year old Pioneer receiver that needed repair. Just Audio did an outstanding job and the unit is as good as when it was new.

I have had a turntable and a cassette deck repaired on 2 separate occasions, and in both there was no fuss and a very positive result. The staff was friendly, and the storefront include vintage equipment sales, a limited selection of new equipment from Parasound and KEF, and a small section for new and used vinyl.

This place is a RIP off . My advise is to stay away. Dont do what they say . Mike said if equment works they would make and offer but no offer.

This is an amazing place.Just walking through the showroom took me back to the days. They have all of the top end equipment from the last 50 years of Hi-Fi. I am confident they will take care of you. From my own personal experience with them, they went well above and beyond to handle an issue I had with an Ibanez amp I brought in for repair. I honestly could believe how happy I was when I thought hope was lost. They truly are not happy until you are happy. Give them a shot and you will see for yourself.

Kind of annoyed. I needed a preamp repaired and e-mailed tgem ahead of time with the make and model and they said they could fix it. I drove all the way to middle river to drop it off and when I got there they said they didnt service this type of product. Waste of my time.

I’ve used Just Audio for audio equipment on several occasions, and they’ve always returned my equipment fixed and looking better than when I brought it in. They are also upfront and accurate with both the tine and cost of repairs, and the costs I think are quite reasonable.

They are as fair as one can be. If youve got old stuff to get rid of, dont expect to get more than a few bucks for each item (Yard sale prices). If youre looking for used stuff they have quite a nice selection. Their repair guys seem to know what theyre talking about and what theyre doing. Its better than taking chances with eBay or other online stuff because they back it up.

These guys did a great job on my technics receiver and price was reasonable. It took around 5 weeks to get it back. Now it sounds better than ever. If you dont have a vintage stereo that needs repaired just stroll into their showroom and browse all the ones they have for sale. Great place.

A bit pricey, but they do GOOD work. They also have some of the nicest pre-owned Classic Hi-Fi and Stereo equipment Ive seen in any location. The selection of hi-end vinyl is unmatched and I highly recommend Just Audio to all my friends.

They did a great job repairing two of my old Adcom amps. They sound like new and no longer pop when you turn them on.

My unit was returned with two one inch gouges on faceplate. The unit was dripping with detox fluid which was all over my car seats. The tech said nothing was wrong other then carbon on speaker switch. When I picked it up there was 165.00 charge listing several re solder repairs? I opened it up to dry off the liquid and found no new soldering on the listed sections. I spoke to the owner, John, who said the tech used too much detox and THEY LIST ITEMS ON THE REPAIR INVOICES THAT THEY NORMALLY DO FOR SUCH REPAIRS. So basically they list things that were not really done to my unit! Since they warrant for 90 days, that means they are warranting things they didnt even repair! Basically they give you a fraudulent repair ticket listing things not done! He did offer me a full refund stating very few customers would open up a repaired unit to inspect the work. On the bright side, they are friendly and polite. In reviewing some ratings, they have more positive then negative.

Just got my Denon 5 disk CD carousel player back. My Boston speakers are still awaiting parts. So far so good. Will give more information after I get my speakers back.

I took my record player in for repairs, and though I cant say they got it done super quickly, they fixed it right and cleaned it up so it looks and sounds as good as new.

Have brought things to them for years and always received great service and great repairs. They just brought back to life my vintage Adcom power amp from the 80s. Pleasure to work with.

I took my Kenwood KR 5600 receiver, purchased used in 2016, to Just Audio. After a thorough cleanup inside and out, it was fixed. It was nice not only to get the stereo sound for the 2 phono stages but also a working tuner. Each repair carries a 90-day warranty, which I plan on taking advantage of.

I had to have the drum module repaired for my Roland electronic drum set. The staff at Just Audio did a fantastic job! Will definitely use again!

Just audio, located in Baltimore, serviced my bass amp and fixed the original issue and an additional issue that they found was not working correctly. The tech called me to go over what was completed. Nice work! Plays great again!

I previously took my Yamaha Mx-1000 flagship amplifier to another professional repair shop in Silver Spring and while they did a fantastic job the amp was returned to me with the LED wattage meters not working properly. After the 1st shop had my amp for 3 months I finally picked it up. I immediately did some research on-line so I figured I would give Just Audio a shot. I took 2 amps in at the same time, my Yamaha flagship MX-A5000 (was repaired under warranty) and my Yamaha MX-1000. Because of Covid the repairs were delayed with both amps but I got the MX-A5000 back 1st, almost everything inside was brand new...what a fantastic job done by Just Audio repair, but of course the good ole vintage stuff takes longer. I received a phone call from technician ED at Just Audio and when I tell you that was the most informative conversation I have had from a repair center about my property...ED is the man. Because we both had to do research to find the part to repair my unit, ED always kept me in the loop(mind you that amp was there from 9/2020 to 11/2020) and I received an update monthly until the part was found, but with my luck of course this was an overseas part only. Just before Thanksgiving I called in to check on my unit and when the person on the phone told me Ed just finished up completing my unit, I turned back into that little inner boy in me at Christmas time. I left work that day to get my unit and because I work an hour away I would have made it on-time but of course that had to be a perfect no traffic day, so after I got stuck in traffic I picked the phone up and let them know I was almost there but I will miss you guys since you close in 10 mins and proceeded to ask them would you mind staying open for a few extra minutes and after a couple of being put on holds they said they would, (great customer service). When I finally got there after the store was closed, I was greeted by the person who fixed my unit Ed, he went over everything he did and even hooked my amp up to verify the repair he did was a success, the music sounded awesome being played from my unit, and finally Ed verified the LED wattage level meters worked like the day the amp came from Yamaha in 1988. All I can say is Ed is the man and I will always do business with Just Audio Repair center when I need any of my high end electronic audio devices repaired from now on. They even had some classic original HIP-HOP music recordings on vinyl and I picked those up as well while I waited, this was an excellent experience.

Just wanted to thank that knucklehead Ed for being so patient and professional while fixing my sansui 9090Db.It took Awhile but its working great and Im so glad I didnt give up on this unit. Thanks again for all your hard work. You rock The knucklehead is per our conversation on the phone LOL

Very happy with the repairs to my receiver and turntable. Everything works great. My equipment was a little dusty and wish they cleaned it up a little better but thats a minor thing. I drove an hour just based on the good reviews and wasnt disapointed. If you value your vintage equipment, you can trust Just Audio.

These guys are top of the line service providers. Ive had a couple of multi-disc players, a Sony 400 and a Pioneer 100 linear disc player, great repair and cleaning, they work like new again. Brought in an antique radio for them to fix and they did an amazing job. I asked if I could take the radio cabinet home when they removed the chassis so I could refinish it and they had no problem with my request. Would highly recommend them as a very reliable top notch repair and service shop.

I take all my audio repairs to Just Audio. Theyre easy to work with, do a great job, and very friendly. Theyve also taken equipment that no longer works, so I dont have to arrange for recycling. Since theyre the best shop in town, their turn-around time can be slow, but thats understandable. Highly recommended.

Wow! What can I say? A lot...I sent the turntable in for my 1957 RCA New Orthophonic High Fidelity RCA Victor (Model SHF-5 Mark IV) to Just Audio because it was barely audible and played albums at about half their speed (i.e., 33 1/3 RPM was playing more like 20 RPM - it was not playable!). A few weeks later they shipped it back to me and oh does it sound magnificent! You just cant reproduce this sound on another stereo system and Just Audio got it back running like the day is was brand new. My father purchased this High Fi back in 1957 and its absolutely amazing to be able to play our favorites again (Sinatra!).So I will say THANK YOU to Just Audio and let all of you know that I absolutely wholeheartedly recommend Just Audio for your audio repair needs! Thank you thank you thank you.

My experience with JustAudio was amazing. I acquired a Sansui G7000 receiver in amazing condition that had a bad left channel, some caps that were nearing the end as well as speaker terminals that were broken. I dropped it off earlier in April. They diagnosed the issues, corrected everything and totally modded out my speaker terminals and retrofitted modern binding post. This Sansui sounds so amazing. It was well worth the hour long drive to Parkville. These guys at JustAudio are top notch and know their stuff. You have gained a customer for life.

Great professional staff...excellent up front explanations of their repair policies and procedures. All very valid and logical. Turn around time from bringing my item in for service, to their diagnosis of the problem to my go ahead to repair and deliver very timely. Repair work is warranted for 90 days. They also have a sales floor where you can purchase refurbished classic audio gear, much of which is sweet, pure analog. The items for sale in their showroom are smartly presented and attractively displayed. 5 stars!! .

Just audio did a great job of fixing a Akai MPK 49 midi controller! The whole process took a couple of weeks but that was the initial time frame they said - but it works like new and the store front is friendly and very personable as well - they have a steep initial estimate fee that goes towards the repairs but I believe all together it was still cheaper than other repair shops in the area and the main thing is that it works! It’s a very good local shop and glad to support it!

These guys helped me out with a stuck key on a Casio keyboard/digital piano. They were quick and, informative and were able to service the instrument under its warranty. Great service.

Promised to diagnose and evaluate in 4 weeks. Just audio meet that and we’re completely done with my amp in 4 weeks. Always heard good thing about Just Audio and they lived up to that expectation.

I purchased a vintage Kenwood receiver from Just Audio back in January 2021 and used it breifly and then it seeme to not work correctly (may have been user error on my part). After talking with a service rep at JA, I was encouraged to send it back for them to look at. In short, it was damaged on the retrun shipment but Just Audio were amazing and replaced the damaged face place at cost and got it back to me looking better than it did before and working fabulously. Really amazing cutomer service as well as an amazing receiver. Thank you Mike and the JA team for making what was not your issue just a bump in the road for me. Truly will be back again for my next purchase of previously owned or vintage audio equipment.

I brought in a Technics linear drive turntable that was purchased around 1985, but had an issue with one channel not working. It sat in my attic for years, until I finally decided to get it repaired. I took it to Just Audio Repair Center and they fixed it up and it works great. Price was very reasonable too. I ended up dropping off a second turntable for repair.

I had a hi-fi stereo that needed repair, Just Audio could not work on that particular type of equipment; but they put me in touch with a repairman that repaired the equipment. The quality of the repair was equal to that of Just Audio standards. Im greatly satisfied.

Just Audio far exceeded my expectations and provided impeccably fabulous customer service! I initially bought a vintage turntable online from them, & it came packed SO so carefully. They answered all questions I had about setting it up, and were also kind enough to offer me additional free advice on how to set up my home audio system, what to do/not do, where to place my bookshelf speakers, etc. Absolutely incredible company to work with. I ended up buying the rest of my audio accessories online from them because it was literally easier and faster than working with the big chain music store near me. Thank you Just Audio, ya’ll rock!

I was nervous about this place at first due to the long estimated wait time, as well as the $60 up front charge, however, they had a fast turnaround time and cleaned the inside and fixed my Roland V-Synth outpus&keys. Not saying there wait time will always be that fast but they took everything very seriously and did a great job for a reasonable price. I will definitely come back and would recommend!

Excellent customer experience. Repaired and cleaned up my 42 year old Pioneer receiver which is now performing just as it did when new. Great understanding of my unit and how to resolve my problem. Repair was completed ahead of my expectation at a fair price. Very satisfied.

UPDATE: I spoke with the owner of the shop. this morning. He understood the nature of my complaint and worked with me to find a satisfactory resolution.Would-be seller beware!!! I took a turntable to Just Audio on Monday, 8/3 to sell to them. I followed the instructions on their website and didn’t call about components I wanted to sell. The individual who buys used audio equipment from customers was eating lunch, and didn’t even look at the turntable. The salesperson on the floor checked with the used component “expert” and told me they didnt deal with Garrard. I was told they would take it as a donation and would use it for parts. Believing they were the experts, and based on a little research I had done about this particular model turntable, I left it for parts. Based on my research, I figured Id get $30 or $40. Now theyre selling it for $249! So unethical!! Shady business. BTW, the prices I have seen for this particular model of Garrard turntable are all under $100.

I have a older set of Klipsch speakers. One, of which was blown. And, Just Audio was the only place I found to fix it. They fixed it in a timely manner. And, since I reside so far away from Just Audio. They even contacted me when another piece belonging to a family member was completed. And, both items were picked up the same time. Which saved us two trips. That was above and beyond what they had to do. Thumbs up to Just Audio.

They have come through in the clutch for me numerous times. All the work theyve done has been great quality, timely and at a fair price.

It was a tad difficult to locate since GPS did not locate exact address but luckily we had parking available in front. The turn around time was almost 3 weeks but I knew this going in and not an issue since it was just a 35 min drive. Our reel to reel, an Akai GX-635D, was serviced and works just as great as it did when it was purchased back in 1979. I would highly recommend and will return if other stereo items need servicing.

Over the years Ive had many satisfying experiences with the fine folks at Just Audio. Most recently I took a Marantz AVR there for warranty service and was delighted to hear from them them in just two days that my receiver was fixed and ready for pickup, and am now happily enjoying it again. In prior visits theyve repaired or adjusted other hi-fi equipment (e.g., my reel to reel tape recorder, not under warranty) and those encounters were also satisfyingly forthright, competent and timely. I recommend them.

If you are into stereo gear, particularly vintage equipment, you need to meet these folks. They are friendly, honest and highly capable with competitive repair prices. Not cut rate, but good value for the work that they stand behind. They repaired a 70s Harmon Kardon receiver for me with more than a few issues and its never sounded or functioned better.

Took my Dalquist DQ9 speakers for subwoofer repair and the’ve never sounded better. Love these 35+ year old speakers and Just Audio did a great job. Highly recommend

They performed quick factory authorized warranty repair work on my Marantz amp. The technician called me directly to completely understand the issue, he knew the product very well and immediately ordered the required repair parts.
