Nice coffee shop. Good selection of drinks and food. I would recommend the breakfast sandwiches and their mocha.
Really good coffee and nice people! However, I think that they are trying to do too much with too small of a space and usually 1 person on staff. You can try to do it all and not do any of it particularly well or efficiently, or you can focus in on the coffee and hit it out of the (ahem) park.
Great spot for a grab and go coffee. Their order online option is a godsend. The only drawback is that youβre going to wait since they can only realistically staff 2 people at a time. My advice: order online and avoid the wait.
I went in to get a decaf iced coffee. The coffee was highly caffeinated which I felt the effects of later that night. Two stars because I think it was an honest mistake, but obviously a big one for folks that are sensitive to caffeine. The customer service was good. I will not be going back.
I stopped in here on my road trip and my coffee was really good and the gentleman that helped me was so sweet. I look forward to stopping in here again the next time I am in Baltimore β₯οΈ
Great food and amazing service! The owner kicked out someone who was totally rude to the entire store and they were really sweet to everyone who followed the rules. Great sandwiches, and coffee too. If youre looking for a new place to try this is one of the best! They made my and my friend feel safe because they still have the mask policy in place (may of 2021). Ill come again soon!
Amazing service, with realistic and reasonable safety protocols. The folks at the counter were so sweet and nice. The drinks were so good and very well presented. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I look forward to them being fully open so I can go in and really soak up the vibe. Definitely a recommended spot.
I went with two other friends, all of us are vaccinated. We were following CDC guidelines by not wearing a mask. At the coffee shop, we were immediately greeted with virtue signaling and judgmental looks. They had no spare masks for rational customers like us. If you are going to choose to continue to ignore the science and continue to require masks at this point, then you should have extra masks available.
One of my favorite coffee shops in Baltimore. I love the cozy vibe and wonderful staff who always make you feel welcome. But the best feature is undoubtedly the coffee. If you live in Baltimore then you may experience Zekes overload where it seems like every establishment only serves Zekes. Im happy to say PP offers an exceptional cup from a small batch producer that ISNT Zekes. If you need a quick bite or hot cup while strolling through the park this is the place to go.
I cant say enough good things about this place! I absolutely love it. They have the best location for starters! The food is so good. My boyfriend and I always like to try new things so we just pick a random name off the menu for a sandwich and just get surprised by what we get and wow we have never been disappointed! Love this place and the coffee/drinks are sooo good!
I am not only happy to support this small, local, woman-owned business for those reasons alone, but I am impressed with the quality, variety, ambience, and idyllic location of this wonderful coffee shop. To keep any small business alive during these unprecedented times is a major feat, but the lengths this owner has gone to take care of her staff is really incredible. Highly highly HIGHLY recommend for a handcrafted beverage or bite to eat!
Was in line for 10mins, everyone ordered in front of me.. Lady running the place heard my order, thought about it for a sec then told theyre closing early and that the grill was off. There was still food on the grill
The people there were incredibly sweet and good service!
Inconsistent hours and service, drink orders often incorrect. Wish we had another coffee shop on the south side of the park to compete
Great neighborhood place, such a good vibe, friendly, and great coffee!
I have been here twice and I do not plan to go back. Both times they did NOT have the ingredients to make the sandwiches listed on their menus. Both times I was told that they we βoutβ of these ingredients AFTER I had already paid for my meal. I am not sure why they only realize they are βoutβ of ingredients AFTER you have already paid and tipped. If they told me before I ordered, I would simply go somewhere else. But since I had already paid, I had to settle for choosing a sandwich that I did not want BOTH TIMES. The first time I went it was over the weekend, so I attributed their disorganization to it being busy. However, when I decided to give it another chance it was noon on a Monday when it was empty. So I guess it does not matter when you go.
Been to Patterson βperkβ 3 times this past year bc itβs within walking distance of my house. The coffee is actually pretty good, but wow the service sucks. They seem mad or annoyed when you order a sandwich or something that requires some effort. A name change and some new staff who arenβt rude would go a long way!
Patterson Perk is a high-quality, cozy cafΓ© offering delicious coffee and food. As a woman-owned business, they crank out consistently excellent food and drink while also keeping on top of solid COVID-19 precautions. Their location is super convenient with a beautiful view of Patterson Park. Strongly suggest paying them a visit!
Love this sweet neighborhood coffee shop. Kudos to the employees that have to deal with mean customers during Covid. Was waiting outside and someone was nasty about waiting. Thereβs a worldwide pandemic, and these guys still deliver. Bravo Patterson perk!
The coffee was good the first time, but the woman who works there is the rudest. I would gladly prefer Starbucks customer service over an angry woman. Itβs a shame because I was excited to find a local coffee shop, but the customer service is horrendous.
Constantly getting orders wrong. Idk how many times Iβve paid for a sausage egg n cheese and theyβve sent a million different types of breakfast sandwiches. I use them when nothing else is available. If theyβre not forgetting my sandwich toppings their usually making my drink wrong or charging me for syrups that were never put in the drink. Only use them if you need a caffeine fix. Absolutely unreliable and inconsistent
The employees are always friendly but unfortunately they are consistently terribly slow. Today I placed an order for an egg cheese and tomato bagel at 10:20am. Itβs currently 11am and Iβm still waiting for it. I asked for an update at 10:40am and they said they βlost the ticket for my orderβ and ask if I had paid already, which obviously I did. I wish I could say this was an abnormal occurrence but itβs usually at least a 15 minute wait for a coffee and breakfast sandwich. Unfortunately an egg sandwich shouldnβt take 40 minutes and this will be my last time.
I went to get breakfast this morning after running errands. I knew they were only do pick-up before, so I went to check if it had changed since Baltimore City had relaxed the restrictions. They had the policy posted on the window, as shown on the picture, and there was nothing blocked the door. So I went in to order a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. After the guy handed me my coffee, he asked me to wait outside for my sandwich. I was like, ok, even though I was the only customer there, and the rule on the window stated max 2 persons. It was 42 degrees and crafty outside. I waited for 5 mins (I was counting the minute because I was freezing. I didnβt expect to be outside so I had no hat nor gloves on). So I went in to ask how much longer it would because I was freezing and my coffee was getting cold! (My mask was on the whole time so that I wasnβt drinking my coffee.). The guy said my sandwich was almost ready and he couldnβt let me wait inside due to βpolicyβ. I donβt know what policy he was talking about. So I asked if I could leave my coffee inside so that it would not get cold. He said no because of policy. I was the only customer the whole time. There was nothing stated in the rule that 2 people couldnβt stay inside. I was mad but didnβt argue further and went back outside for another 5 mins for my sandwich. I respect that each business has its own safety measures, but they need to make sure the rules are clearly stated. If their current comfort level doesnβt match their written rules, they either need to clarify the rules, take the risks, or change the business model. You canβt have all. For example, Patterson Perk could have stayed pick-up only. I would have ordered on line and waited in the car to pick up if I knew I had to wait outside in the cold. I donβt know how its business has been doing. But I am not going back even after the pandemic due to its bad services.
Their frappes taste is on point but my only hang up is they must not use a cream base because it was like drinking milk with ice on top and no whipped cream on top which Im used to. But I still leave a 4 because they use the good brands I wont be returning but at least it tastes good unlike a lot of other places Ive had.
Very hit or miss through Uber Eats. They just left off an entire drink and the one (dirty chai) we did receive didnt at all taste like it normally does. The taste is so off, I had to dump it. The few times Ive had to call regarding a wrong order, the person has sounded completely over it. The snotty customer service seems to be a consistent theme here.
Great local spot for good coffee and sandwiches! I really appreciate patronizing businesses where I can see they are taking extra measures to protect their employees and customers during COVID-times.
THIS WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY ENTIRE ADULT LIFE.
Always wonderful service and delicious food and drinks!
I live by this shop and go there all the time! I recommend two things:1) Get the peanut butter cup latte2) Order ahead on their website. That way there is no waiting!
Ive had a good experience the first time with the order (everything was right), but the second time going in, my order was late by 10 minutes (I ordered online 30 minutes prior), there were no multigrain toast, and I got the wrong cheese..I will have to check my food the next time I order.
Awesome coffee shop with great service and delicious coffee! Highly recommend.
Really enjoy the coffee. A good small business, which is an added bonus. Staff was very nice and friendly. Come here time to.time, but might make it more often
Lovely little shop right on the park with good coffee and friendly staff. The online ordering system is super easy to use. You get an email notifying you that your order is ready for pick up as well.
This beautiful pagoda is located in Patterson Park and is an exotic sight for visitors. Its currently only open on Sundays when visitors can climb for a view but in my opinion its best seen from outside and the park is open every day. Great photo opportunity, maybe try to convince your friends you made a quick visit to China and back! Very special design. Designed in 1890. You can not go inside But it is a landmark of Balltimore. Like old day Chines pagoda.
Staff was nice coffee was good. But whats with coffee places on eastern ave not opening until 8am. What of the workforce has already had its first cup lol
I was covering my face with an tshirt - diabetic and told them I need something to eat. They told me they would rather me die than serve me
My favorite place to grab a quick breakfast & coffee in Canton/Highlandtown!
I bought some homemade masks from the owner in the beginning of the pandemic, they were supposed to be well made, with elastic band. Instead I got poorly made masks with 1 layer of thin fabric, weak fabric straps - that does not stay on. And I was not told of this change until I picked it up. Waste of $30 and it is just not good business. I ended up throwing all the masks out because they were unusable. Really felt like i was taken advantage of during the wake of a pandemic.
Great drip coffee. Surcharge if you pay with card under $5 :(
Considering all of the craziness this pandemic has offered up, Patterson Perk remains one of the best independently owned coffee shops in Baltimore! π
Great neighborhood coffee shop with friendly service & delicious coffee!
Today I waited 50 minutes for my order and it was made wrong.I ordered two sandwiches (Jacques and panini) and was told it would be a 30 minute wait. I was surprised, but was excited for the food so we waited. 50 minutes later I went to bite into my Jaquea sandwich and it was missing ham. When I notified the staff they offered to remake the sandwich as they threw the original one in the trash. Instead, I asked for a refund to avoid another 50 minute wait... wish they hadnβt thrown the first one out.Hopefully I just caught them on a bad day.
Nice little coffee shop in Baltimore. The staff was friendly and have great tips on exploring the area, and breakfast sandwich was tasty. One of the better places i got coffee on my visit to the USA. Only downside was the baristas dont do a flat white.
Found a bandage in my breakfast sandwich that took 25 min for the hipster beta fish to make.
My most fav coffee joint! Always on point with courtesy and quality. If I need a perk up, Patterson is where I like to swing by.
This place has surprisingly good food for the small space. Cool vibe too. Love supporting this cute neighborhood spot.
Nice atmosphere
Delicious homemade sandwiches and baked goods. Great spot for a snack.
Itβs a great park for the family, great park for dogs really a staple of Baltimore. Wish they could update the basketball courts though.
Love the Perk! π
Nice little shop close to home. The drip coffee was fantastic and breakfast sandwich was on point. Friendly service!
The coffee shop is 3 cs cute, clean and cozy. The food was hot and delicious. The Dirty Chai is amazing. Seriously Im hooked now. The Breakfast sammies are great, everything taste better on an everything bagel. I will be back again.
Stopped in here this morning; a rainy Baltimore day. What a nice spot to get in from the rain. Small, cozy, smelled great. Grabbed a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Nice music playing too.
Very nice park. My toddler loved the playground there. Lots of varied equipment.
Perfect balance of noise and quiet. Dont know whats in the perk melt but it tastes amazing
Great place to stay! Very clean! Pets welcome and owner responsive and accommodating. would be five stars if the tv reception was better.
Love this place!
I wish there was a legitimately good coffee shop on the park :-/ these guys are extremely averageEdit - Ambiance is nice and the place is cozy but the coffee itself is probably 1 star in my opinion. Espresso is weak and very hard to drink, Im not sure about the drip.
Super friendly vibe. Students can come and study with their laptops. Delicious and eccentric selections such as Blackberry Mocha Latte.
Quiet and cozy. Not a huge selection of food, but the warmth of that local coffee shop feeling covers you.
The place was nice. I wouldnt get an Italian soda from here again, it wasnt very good. But the cookies were great.
Ive been here several times, the coffee is good, but some of the employees seem like they dont enjoy working there. They were a rude to every customer that walked in about half the times Ive been in there. I think they need another person behind the counter, but dont have the space. Seems like the employees need a hospitality lesson..
I like the vibe, the baristas, and convenient location. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the drip coffee was very weak. It tasted more like coffee flavored water than coffee. Maybe thats just my personal taste.
Visiting Baltimore from Florida this coffee shop really changed my veiw on Baltimore. Such a cozy community based spot.
The coffee is so-so, but they are fast and efficient with getting your order out. I like dropping by here, out of convenience, to grab an afternoon pick-me-up.
Beautiful view of Patterson Park. Nice atmosphere. Good music. Coffer great too.
I like strong coffee, tastes like a medium or light roast so I added a shot of espresso. Good flavor. Service is just ok, slow and with an attitude. Maybe she was having a bad day?... I had the bacon, egg & cheese. It was good, very basic.
A little pricey, but a great local spot and cool staff
Iβm pretty sure this is the first coffee shop ive been to other than big chains that doesnβt know how to make a cortado
Delicious food and staff was really great.
Coffee was okay. Staff forgot our order because they were too busy holding a conversation. Had to remind them after waiting for 20.minutes after everyone else that ordered behind us had left
Best almond milk iced chai ever. Also the Jacques breakfast sandwich is delicious.
Chill atmosphere. Love the plants and music. :)
Great coffee and food. Fast friendly service
Decent coffee. Really small inside, but they have outdoor seating.
The foods good, I have consistently had poorly msde coffee drinks tho
Love the people, coffee, and food! Ive met a lot of interesting people to talk to there. Jen is amazing!
Nice quaint little spot in Baltimore. Solid breakfast food and good coffee
Just had the best mushroom and cheese grilled sandwich. Service is always so friendly.
This cozy coffee shop offer solid coffee, good pastries, and friendly service. There arenβt that many chairs so there isnβt an a whole bunch of spaces to sit down, but thereβs a wonderful view of Patterson Park from the chairs that are there.
Unimpressed with their standard, drip coffee, it was on par with Folgers. They also dont have soy milk. Still worth stopping by on a cold winter day while visiting the park.
Very cozy feeling! My only complaint was that it was way to small
If you look on Facebook, Yelp, and Google reviews youll notice the same issues about bad service and food handling. Usually the owner will turn to calling it slander and a lie. Heres my review. Hopefully this place turns it around, but from reading other reviews it seems this had been a problem for years...The way this place handles food is insanity. I watched a cook take medicine from someone elses hand, pop them in her mouth, then go back to cooking and touching food with bare hands. The girl that rang us up and was touching cell phones, debit cards, etc was touching food with bare hands after touching her hair as well. Employees were also eating while they were cooking food. Its cool to be hipster and edgy and not wear gloves when working with peoples food, but theres a line.
I was running in the Baltimore Half Marathon in Oct 2013 and at the 3 mile mark, I had to go to pee. Being from out of town, and not knowing the course nor seeing any port-a-johns in site....I came upon this coffee shop. On the front door said, Toilets for Paying Customers only. I had no money but took a chance as I had to go really bad. The lady and gentlemen working the counter greeted me. I explained my situation and they said to feel free to use the toilet. What a huge relief. I wound up finishing my first 1/2 Marathon without any further bathroom breaks and wanted to say THANK YOU to the kind folks at the coffee shop for helping me out
I wish this place was better, since its so close to my house/work. Ive tried it >3 times and every time the coffee taste burnt/bitter/stale.
Food was good and reasonably priced. Cashier did not have good customer service
Opens early. Great assortment of coffee and tea and pastries.. little overpriced..
Ally and Morgan are the best!!
Fantastic place great service the food is really tasty, the blueberry muffin is from heaven.
Good coffee, friendly spot.
Best start to my morning in a long time, I will definitely be going back.
Cozy atmosphere and friendly service.
My children love to eat a toasted bagel before entering HHA .
The sandwiches are great. Get something with pesto on it.
I come from across town for this place when I can! Love the vibe and they make a perfect latte - screw starbucks
Good food but very long wait. Clearly under staffed.
