Always clean, good service, moderate to high prices, but good food and decent coffee. My daughter said it was the best anyone has prepared her toasted bagel with cream cheese, tomato, salt, and pepper. Apparently, shes tried a lot of places in Towson.
The best cranberry muffins ever! This is a great place to meet a friend for coffee or to read a book, a true Baltimore treasure.
I never really feel comfortable here. The shelves are not stocked, selection is minimal. That said, the coffee was fine.
Perhaps not as fancy as the nearby restaurants and delis, Evergreen is a pleasant, classic, diner-style restaurant. There are deep booths for private conversations, open tables for a more lively dining experience, and a small lounge area near the front window where students from nearby Loyola University and other patrons can read newspapers or work on their laptops in peace. The menu includes reasonably priced breakfast items, coffee, sandwiches, and espresso drinks, too. The person staffing the register at mid-morning today was cheerful and helpful to me on my first visit. I belong to a small group that meets one weekday morning each week, and the restaurant is especially accommodating for us. We intend to make this our regular meeting spot.
Good variety of food, friendly service. great place to study
Great coffee and food, friendly folks, and a cozy place for meeting or getting work done.
This is the best deli around me and my daughter came here for lunch and she did not see anything on the menu she light so the owner made her what she wanted especially for her !That meant everything to me in the world 2 see him go out of the way to see her happy.Ill be a customer for life now. Plus the atmosphere in the restaurant is very cozy and comfortable its truly service with a smile from good people.
Absolutely love this place. Sam, the owner, is such a great guy and the cafe has some delicious food. It might be my favorite salad in the city - the evergreen salad. Its a great spot for working, a meeting, or just hanging out. Make sure to check out their huge wall of free books. There are always some jewels within.
The best neighborhood coffee shop you will ever find. The coffee is great, sandwiches are delicious and the owners are the nicest people you will ever meet!! Highly recommend.
Had some time to kill, so I decided to stop by a local cafe. Loved this place. Nice and cozy with ample seating (tables and couches). The workers seemed nice. The curry chicken salad I got was amazing. Maybe a little pricey, but it seems worth it. Definitely give this place a shot! I will be back.
Always so friendly with such great service. Great place to study when in-door dining is available.
I asked for a Cesar salad with chicken and when I received it, the chicken was so dry I couldn’t eat it so I asked if I could at least not be charged for the chicken. The employee said the salad was already made so no. I asked if I could get a refund for the entire salad and he said no again. So I gave the salad back and basically had $8.89 taken from me in exchange for one small bite of dry chicken. I have NEVER had a food establishment not accommodate a customer with a refund when the food was not made well. If you want dry chicken, poor customer service, and your money taken definitely go here.
I have many fond memories of this place when I was younger. They used to give my brother and I free m&ms on top of our gelato when we would come with our mom. The food is great and the shop has a nice atmosphere, and the man who runs it is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Would recommend for any of your snack, lunch, and gelato needs.
Love this cozy cafe. Sweet owners, good coffee (that you can get in a real mug), nice big window and a comfy couch to sit and read and drink your coffee. Not fancy, modern or hip but cozy and quiet and great for reading and studying
This is a perfectly acceptable coffee shop. Quality ambiance (probably its best quality). The coffee is good. I have been a couple of times and am satisfied with it. The food is fairly priced and, while not amazing also not a disappointment.
Evergreen has a very low-key vibe without the oftentimes pretentious feel of a place trying to be chick or trendy. There are plenty of tables and booths to sit and get work done if you need to. The service is very quick with reasonable prices. The bagels are fresh from Roland Park Bagel Co. and the coffee is Zekes. Its hard to get more north Baltimore than that.
Same and Katherine are the best. Smart kind good food and service...relaxed comfortable environment. Family or friends or business. Baltimores best kept secret.
Excellent customer service and the coffee is great quality!
The food is good, and the drinks are amazing (the Chai Tea Latte is probably the best Ive ever had). The atmosphere is warming and inviting, and the staff is very friendly! I highly recommend checking out this place is you havent been, its one of my favorite Baltimore area coffee shops. Also pro tip: if you do visit, while there is Pay For Parking out in front, further down the street there are free parking spots, and there are usually a few of these open.
Great place to meet or just grab a cup of coffee and get some work done. Food is good and ingredients are fresh. The owners are very friendly and welcoming.
Always a pleasant place to get work done. Good food and drinks follow a cheerful welcome. The owners treat everyone like their favorite regular. The atmosphere, music, and wifi make it one of my favorite places to sit down to work from breakfast to lunch.
I live in the area and have been going to this spot for years. I grab a drink or bite to eat before or after the gym, on a leisurely Sunday morning. Its a fantastic place to chat with friends or meet with colleagues, professors, etc.
The cappuccino tastes good!
Super cute place! Loved the bottomless coffee. I had a plain bagel egg and cheese and it was so fresh. Will always come back now! So glad to have discovered this little place because they have couches for reading and then tables for studying. Adorbs!
With hands-on ownership and a generous blackboard menu with reasonable prices, Evergreen is a local winner. Stop by for coffee and dessert, breakfast specials, a lunch sandwich, or an early dinner. Sit for a while in the friendly environment and enjoy one of the few remaining independent coffee shops in northeast Baltimore.
Some strong coffee is brewed here. I like coming here for the laid back atmosphere and internet connectivity. They have a few Booths and you can get quiet some work done choosing one of those. Besides the breakfast menu, lunch items are offered.
Good location, though parking can be a real pain. The basic setup is good for study, if you can get a booth (they only have a few). The pastries are eh. The coffee is awful. I think they use Zekes coffee, and then must water it down or something. Prices are mid-range, doable. I go there because its close and with the hopes that Ill get a seat in a booth. Otherwise, Ill go elsewhere.
The Evergreen is a great local Cafe. I love the food like the eggs and the panini. Atmosphere is great for doing work. I recommend this place for people to anyone looking for a cafe in Baltimore.
Solid breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Good coffee/espresso drinks. Chill atmosphere.
Coffee is ok, pastries are all ok. Theres tons of seating. Many years ago, this used to be one of my favorite coffee places in Baltimore. I stop by occasionally now, but its not nearly as good as it used to be. Thats unfortunate, because I really love independent coffee places and want to support them whenever possible.
Very comfortable place for meeting up with friends for breakfast. Nice Staff. Good coffee.
Nice and quaint little café. I havent had any of their food, but it all looks good to me!I also like the fact that they stay local using Zekes Coffee from here in Baltimore :-)
My favorite neighborhood coffee shop. Sam is awesome and friendly.
Best muffins and cookies in the verse.Sometimes you have to remind them to take of the saran wrap before putting things in the microwave, but other than that the place is excellent.
Great Place to get some work done and drink some coffee. Folks that run the place are awesome too.
Very chill spot, and nice owner, I recommend going.
This is a very relaxing and friendly cafe. The food is fresh and delicious and it has a hippy, chilled out vibe.
This is the best place to come and read, get work done, eat comfort food, etc.
A very local spot. Good place to stop in for a sandwich. Pleasant living.
They serve Zekes coffee. Comfortable setting - great inexpensive place to meet a friend for coffee
Nice lunch stop here in Roland Park. Very clean with nice comfortable chairs which is a huge +1 for me.
The customer service was pretty awful, thats the only problem with a small run business, no accountability if someone feels like they can talk to a customer however they want. One of the kids was mopping and slamming the chairs really super loudly every few seconds so I asked him if he could please stop slamming them because it was jolting and he told me if i have a problem I can leave. Alright, I have been a regular here but you wont be getting my business anymore. The food is subpar and overpriced also. Really sad they coudnt be more professional.
Great place to hang out and work, or meet with people for one-to-ones. Good coffee.
Great chai lattes .Perfect for meeting friends or working.
My new favorite breakfast cafe
Great little cafe for getting work done. Very relaxing atmosphere.
Good space for lingering. Zekes coffee. Street parking. Modest food options.
Spacious and comfy, family owned, great food (and gelato!!), very laid back
Comfy coffee shop and cafe.
Great place, great food, and great environment..
Nice locally owned coffee shop, with simple food options and good desserts.
This is a nice place for coffee and a place to work but Im unimpressed by their food selection. Not good for anyone with food allergies or sensitivities.
Nice deli in Roland Park. Caprese Panini was amazing
Nice place for a quick coffee and a breakfast sandwich.
Food 2, Coffee 4, Ambience 3, Service 1.Have tried both cobb salad and chicken caesar wrap. Both were underwhelming and at ~$10 it should be much better. After trying food here twice, I visited 5 more times over a month to get just a coffee and use the internet. The women who work the morning shift are always very courteous and friendly and it is never crowded. However, I made the mistake of going back to back days without ordering food. On the 2nd day the owner asked me why I never tried the food and I told him I had tried it twice before but wasnt eating a meal now (it was 3 pm). He proceeded to lecture me on the cost of water, bathrooms, and electricity that I had used the day before and the many hours I had been in his establishment. I told him I always tip when getting a coffee and was cut off and told tips dont matter and his real, loyal customers order food.Be warned, you may want to look for another place if you just need coffee and internet, or at least dont go on consecutive days without ordering food. If ordering food, Id be careful as well. I suggest a simple sandwich and steer clear of the hodge podge of a menu that includes items as far reaching as muffins, sushi, and gelato, none of which look as if theyve been touched in quite some time.
This is my favorite cafe, been visiting for years and they know me by name.
A good place to meet.
Just super overpriced... Food ok
Great local place, lots of seating.
I like delicious food and clean environment.
Great little place!
I see no compelling reason to go here other than everything else in the area is only alright as well
Nice people
Groovy place.
Never fails!!
Cozy spot
Home with a certificate as a cafe! Coffee and brunch
