Everybody is super attentive. they have a huge selection of good straight lumber. Jerry is the best to deal with. while Home Depot is charging almost $12 a foot for the red oak I’m buying it from 84 lumber for $4 a foot I’ll always go to 84 lumber for my wood choices!

Front desk will get u in and out fast ... when u go pick up your lumber in the back nobody wants to help .. so just pick it up your self....

I ordered 120 feet of real wood baseboard that had to have a thickness of one inch. They had it, called the company that supplies it since it was a special order and made sure I was satisfied with my purchase with excellent customer service from start to finish. The customer service specialist talked about the process and gave me a card in case I wanted to check on the order, but gave me a date when the order would come in. Excellent service in fast time. Professional to the extreme. Thank you!

Super packed. Parking is limited. Same entrance for truck driver.Hard place to get in and out if your a truck driver. No room to maneuver..

Great place and very understandable. They helped with selecting lumber for my pergola project. Hector was very patient in answering my questions and helping my plan out the work. They are very busy. Calling is not the best way to get to speak with someone. I suggest going into the show room to speak with someone.

Very Friendly service and fair price

I ordered cedar wood. I paid for it in full. I was told it would be in on a Thursday. I come in Saturday morning as soon as they open to pick it up. 40 minutes later they figure out it hasnt arrived. No one bothered to call me on Thursday or Friday to let me know it didnt arrive. They told me it isnt uncommon for their suppliers to make empty promises on delivery. I got a refund and left. No one ever apologized. I did get a call yesterday asking why I took that money out of my account for pre-paying on the order. I told the lady why. She didnt apologize or anything. I wont be back.

Expensive with poor service.

While the sales guy was great and helped me get what I needed ordered, whoever is in charge of putting the orders in failed at their job. The wood I ordered was supposed to be in today I called twice and on the second call I was informed that the order was never placed. So now I loose my weekend of working on my project. Oh, yeah I prepaid for my order. Really great customer service. NOT

84 Lumber is the best lumber yard in Bakersfield, Lance the Manager has great employees that have been working in the lumber/construction industry for years. They are well staffed and there is always someone willing to help you with your purchase. Dont bother going to Home Depot or Lowes for lumber, doors, trim, or windows because 84 can provide superior service and pricing.Just my 2 cents.

Great people, great prices, great lumber.

I originally gave this place a bad result because the lumber I received was not good, they allowed me to return it. However when I originally bought it I had to borrow a truck and trailer so yes when i returned it, i had to borrow another truck and trailer. Time consuming and frustrated.

Prices are a little high on some things, but they have most of the materials you need for construction.
