This shop is amazing!! They accommodated us time and time again. Squeeze in our bridal alterations? Sure can. Mom found a dress, would you be able to alter it? Sure can. We waited an extra year for this (thanks covid!), thank you so much for an experience that put a great big smile on all our faces!

Loved this boutique. They were very helpful and had a wonderful selection of dresses and they were made very well. The prices were amazing for the quality of the dresses. Definitely recommend coming here for your bridal and bridesmaid needs.

My experience here was so wonderful! I booked a private session on Sunday and loved it. Samantha was my stylist and helped me out so much! She brought such wonderful dresses and paid attention to what I liked and didn’t. Service here is awesome and I definitely recommend coming here! Dress selection is amazing!

The only issue I had was with the seamstress. Multiple occasions she would try and convince me to do something to my dress that I didn’t want done. She would be so pushy with her own ideas that I would have to make sure to tell the other ladies working in the store to make sure it was clearly written in the notes not to do it. When I got my dress back I made the mistake of not trying it on in the store because they were just supposed to steam it for my last appointment. When I put it on on my wedding day, the seamstress had added a whole new feature to my dress that I specifically told her not to add. Super disappointing and frustrating. Made my dress different and not what I had envisioned. When I called to complain, it felt like they could not care less.

Hello,My fiance had to push our wedding up a few months to where it only gave us 2 weeks to prepare and due to the covid virus everything was closed until just a week ago.I went to ladies and gents on Monday to find a dress for the next Saturday and I was super stressed that I wouldnt find the right one so soon... get alterations etc.I met with Miranda and she picked the perfect dress for me at a very reasonable price. I had to have alterations done and have it ready only 6 days later.Well, thats exactly what happened! I picked the dress on Monday and by Wednesday it was ready for pickup!Its exactly what I wanted and the staff was just so amazing... it made everything so simple and stress free.I couldnt be happier!Thank you Miranda! The lady that helped us was super sweet! I went to try on wedding dresses and to look at bridesmaid dresses. She was helpful and spent the time to listen to what I was looking for and was patient while we looked around. I will be returning, highly recommended!

Excellent experience shopping here! Alli helped me and she was very patient and kind. I found my dress in one day. There were plenty options and the store was clean, there was enough staff that nobody seemed to be just waiting to be helped. It was really more than I could have hoped for. The owner was even kind enough to call ahead to let them know I’d be coming after I had first stopped off at their other store up the street and explained what I was hoping to find.

I came into your store because Ive come in before and loved your selection and how much helped I received. Today was not the case. When I first came in was greeted and asked a few question but not once while looking at dresses did anyone ask if I was ready to try on anything. Gave a base price and made it clear I was willing to look at something more expensive and any style or similar to what I suggested but when I asked her if there were other dress sizes since nothing on the rack fit I was basically told the dresses in my size werent in the price range I gave. Was very disappointed with todays experience. So if I come back Im hoping my experience will be better because I loved some of the dresses I saw today just wasnt able to try them on because there werent any my size on that rack.

I recently got my wedding dress here on Presidents Day . I am so happy with my purchase. I bought it off the floor so I was able to get my dress half off. They were extremely busy that day but they were still nice and helpful when they could. My only complaint is they do not help you get the dress on. Some of the dresses were really hard to get on myself so I didnt like that at all. The dress I picked was perfect and is pink just how I wanted . They consider the color blush. Im so glad I found my perfect wedding dress here!!

The quality of dress and the sparkle of the dress was what I wanted and needed! I also found the veil that matched perfectly! You can also get a discount for certain days you visit!!!

I see a lot of good comments about this place, I live about a mile from here, so this is the first place my wife and I go to whenever an occasion happens, I am disappointed from entering to existing, no one offers help, I ask for help, they seem to just act like they don’t hear us, They should have a sign that says no Middle Easterners wanted.

I recently got a dress altered here. The first appointment was great the second not so much. I waited around for about an hour because the dress wasnt ready. I ended up having to leave it again for more alterations. I dont live in Bakersfield (I like 30mons away) so o had my sister who was in town pick it up for me. When she brought the dress to me I noticed that the stitching on the areas they fixed were very sloppy and coming apart. They were also suppose to add fabric to the chest area of the dress and the fabric was still sitting on the dress with pins it hadnt been seen on. I called to tell them and the girl who answered said that the seamstress just forgot to do it. How do you forget to do your job????? I paid $90 for alterations and expected better quality work and better service. Wouldnt recommend and wont go back!!!!

I ended up having to find a dress the day before my wedding. The lady who altered my original dress ruined it and i was freaking out! I walked into Ladies and Gents and the owner completely put me at ease, she let me pick any dress in their stock room and i found the perfect dress!! To be totally honest it was better than my original dress. The girls who work there are amazing and really helped me find what i wanted! Their alterations lady had my dress altered by 10am the day of my wedding and it was perfect! I highly recommend Ladies and Gents Bridal, for all you wedding, formal, prom, and alteration needs there are by far the best in Bakersfield

They did a last minute dress alteration for me and did an excellent job.Recently took my granddaughter there for an alteration to her prom dress and again, amazing work!The people are friendly and the shop was filled with gorgeous formal dresses of all types.I just wish I had somewhere Special to go!

Walked in your shop today and was basically told that you dont have any thing for me. I was looking for a non-wedding dress, although Im open to any thing, for our vow renewal next year. I said I was looking for a strap less fitted dress. The sales girl first said you didnt carry anything like that then showed me a very bridesmaid-like empire waist dress, which I didnt care for. She then pointed out the mother of the bride dress rack and said I dont think youll like any of those. Then she said Those are our prom dresses and that was the extent of her help. I also went into the shop down the street which I believe is also your store. I looked at basically every single dress while I was in there. There were a couple of dresses that I removed from the rack and looked at for quite a while. Your sales lady never said one word to me. The was no one in the store when I arrived but eventually some came in for a fitting. NOT ONE WORD TO ME THE WHOLE TIME! I thought you should know how your stores are being run.

Just went here today and the experience was amazing! The customer service was on point! The ladies were all so helpful! I was nervous at first going in by myself but they all helped me and made me feel comfortable I definitely recommend this place for alterations and purchasing dresses 💕

My experience at Ladies and Gents was very pleasurable being I went in for a last minute event dress and was rushed to make myself make a purchase. The Sales associate made me feel very comfortable and important as they were very busy helping other brides. They took the time to find me a dress and I was pleased. I was with my daughter shopping for her wedding dress. She had an appointment and they were very friendly and attentive. Emily asked questions and listened to my daughters answers and was able to narrow down just exactly what she was looking for. We had appointments at three bridal shops that day and I felt that Ladies and Gents worked the hardest to get it right. My daughter bought her dress from them.

All the ladies at this shop are wonderful! They remember your name, listen to what you want, and make sure you walk out with the dress of your dreams. If you are in Bakersfield this should be your first stop, you should definitely shop around just so you know this is the best place to get a dress! The owner and her daughter are great, and Megan was the girl who helped me a lot! Highly recommend this place!

I didnt actually buy my wedding dress here I just had it altered. They dont have much options or sizes available. The people that work here are mediocre at best. One girl was super nice and helpful but unfortunately I never got her name. The rest are standoffish which is strange for this type of environment. Overall the alterations done on my dress were good and I was happy with the outcome. I just suggest making people feel welcome when they are shopping for or preparing for their wedding.

I had the BEST experience with Jade! I have to admit I was hesitant to go to Lady & Gents because of the previous comments but Im glad I went. I cant say to much about the other women that worked there because they werent as friendly but it didnt matter because Jade made up for it. She helped the store get my business. She had perfect knowledge on what looked good and what fit my body and style. My dress and veil are perfect! She was truly amazing. When you go ask for Jade!

They have nice products but their couches for guests are ripped and torn. The overall look inside is run down. Also the staff does not help dress you or provide much feedback.

I purchased two wedding gowns and three Brides Maids dresses for two of my Daughters upcoming weddings. I spent some dollars. We were visiting family in Bakersfield and we decided to purchase the gowns and have them shipped to us in another state. I negotiated the price of the gowns, which included FREE shipping to us. The first gown was shipped as negotiated and agreed to. The second gown arrived in their store and they proceeded to tell my daughter there would be a $50 shipping fee. I called and left a message for the Store Manager, she never called me back. I called again and she answered the phone, I told her who I was and she said Ive been busy and could not return you call. OK, I can live with that. Then I proceeded to explain to her that the price negotiated with the sales lady, who no longer works there, and the store owner included FREE shipping of the gown. She began to argue with me and hung up on me!!! I called back and asked her why she hung up on me and she said I dont want to talk about it! This Manager is rude, and I mean rude! I cant believe the store owner would allow this person to manage the store and treat a customer, that purchased 1,000s of dollars in merchandise, in this manner. They did end up shipping the dress, as agreed to, but I would suggest NOT buying from this store and certainly DO NOT deal with the store manager! I will write other reviews on other sites about this experience.

This is in response to Madison Smith. The first gown was shipped free. The second gown was purchased and it was stated in the negotiation that it would be shipped-FREE. It does not matter if the purchase was made three months apart, shipping was part of the negotiation. But, none the less, your Manager is absolutely bad for business. You dont hang up on customers unless you dont want customers anymore. Case closed. The owner may want to change Managers or the store may close.

Went in to try on a maggie sottero dress for my wedding the girl in the front desk that was wearing work out gym clothes was rude.. the dress is almost a 3 thousand dollar dress for her to not help me try it on. So i ended up going to LA to order the dress.

As a small business owner I often like to go by the famous phrase, If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all! But as an older sibling when you hear someone who isn’t only being unprofessional but also in a way a bully in this case a family of bullies who lost their sense of just being decent human beings. For a grown man/ business owner to think at any point that it is ok to shout or convey his opinion on to a young woman/bride to be, on how she shouldn’t or should be conducting her self is outrageous. To anyone reading this please take your business/ hard earned money else where. I am a big advocate of buying local and supporting small businesses but when you have this kind of unprofessionalism you don’t deserve a penny of anyone’s hard earned money.

First bridal shop I stop at for my wedding dress. I didnt have the best experience. The girl didnt catch her name but didnt bother helping try on dresses. She just put them in the dressing room & said come out whenever your ready so thankfully I had my maid of honor there to help. They seemed rude & if i was not worth their time. Which I went in with an appointment. Must I say I went to Davids bridal just down the street & i wentold as a walk in & i was treated 100 times better then here & the girl helped me with every dress try on. Everyoneso experience is different but mine sure wasnt here.

Awful customer service. They had a lot of bigger sizes. They had a lot more of size 24 than size 6. There is a raised tile between the 2 rooms that is a serious tripping hazard so watch out for that. I chose to make my purchase elsewhere because of the bad service and the general attitude of the store. It looks like some other reviewers had a similar experience.

The girls were really rude I walk in behind a white party they get greeted and welcomed in and I get left at the door not one word was said to me, if I needed help at all I had to find my way around the store by myself I will never recommend this bridal shop to anyone ! Bridal shoppers- beware!My daughter and I had made an appointment and arrived on time to find we were the only customers in the shop, even though, our greeting from the saleslady behind the front counter was not warm nor very friendly. She called for another saleslady to help us, without asking for my daughters name or the occasion, she simply said Hi, what were you looking for? We proceeded to the wedding gowns, she asked my daughter, Do you know like what style you like want?: I was already disappointed with the obvious inexperience and untrained sales tactics of this young lady, I would like to say I do not blame her, the management is at fault here in my opinion. After we described the style we were shopping for, she checked in a couple places along the rack and then said Umm we dont really carry anything like that, and all our gowns are mostly mermaid fit In disbelief, I asked if she was sure, then I inquired about a catalog to possibly order from, She then asked when the wedding was (finally) and told us since it was 7 months away there was no time to order. I believe a gown that is NOT a special order typically can be brought in between 2-4 months usually. I would advise management to train the salesladies on greetings, knowledge of product and service, come to think of it, it explains why the shop was empty at 11am on a Saturday morning. 4/25/15An impression that I will share with friends.

This comment is for Tony Kouri. This is Megan and Ive been a consultant at Ladies and Gents Bridal for 6 years. I was the consultant who helped your first daughter get her wedding dress. I understand that you bought both of your daughters dresses at our store however, you failed to mention that these purchases were made almost 3 months apart. You also failed to mention that we ( me and you) negotiated a price by taking $100 off the dress, tax free, and free shipping to your first daughter. This was a negotiation for that specific sale. This does not mean that we agreed to do the same for your second purchase. Another thing you failed to mention was that your second daughter purchased her veil with 50% off the cost (again, this was negociated with her and her consultant). I feel that you left out key components to the overall situtation and many assumptions were made. Because these purchases were three months apart means that differents sales/promotions were going on in our store at those times.
