This shop is the best, most unique and genuine antique store we have ever been in. We have been all around California and there are one of a kind things that you cannot find anywhere else. The prices are not inflated…and the quality is great . There is something for every taste and budget. It beats anything I’ve ever seen……

I always love coming to a place like this. You always find something from your past that takes you back To where you were a kid and the prices match too!!

This place beats most museums in terms of being able to walk around in awe for hours. There are some real treasures in here and some great value. I got the large slab of petrified wood Ive been dreaming of for $85. Owner was nice too, and a cute bird by the register.

This place is great! I love the variety of antiques and nostalgia. The prices are north of my budget though. Still a great place to walk around and find great items.

My husband and I went here a couple of Saturdays ago. The OPEN sign was unlit, but the posted hours indicated that we were there during regular hours. The gate was also locked, but the front door was open and after a minute of so, someone came to the gate saying I can let you in. It was about 1 pm. I just figured it was a security issue. We walked throughout the store looking for what we were searching for. At about 1:25, the man on the main floor yelled, Were closing now! We had just found something that we were considering, but we left. It was just too rude and weird. Are they open? Are they not open? If we got there just before they were closing, why not say that when we were let in? A simple, Hey, feel free to shop, but we are closing early today or something? Their prices are also really high compared to other antique stores in town, and their selection never seems to change. Well go elsewhere from now on.

This is a beautifully crafted and decorated store filled with a world of antique treasures. The prices on many of the items are a bit on the extreme side and this leads me to assume that the collection is not as intended for sale as it is for display so if you are visiting this place to buy treasures make sure you armed with the funds to match the costs but if you are just visiting to marvel at the impressive volume this collection holds then you are in for a treat because there is so much to see! My visit was rewarded with sale on my behalf that turned out to be a great and unexpected bargain with the payment I received for the items I sold there being much more than I anticipated much to my delight. I definitely recommend this store.

Ominously big inside. Feels more like a hoarders mansion than an antique shop, VERY cool inside. A tiny bit overpriced compared to other places in Bakersfield. And SO MUCH FURNITURE

I went in here recently for the first time despite living in Bakersfield for a long time. Oh my gosh. This place was huge, and SO much stuff. I didnt have time to look at everything, but found some good items. The guy was a little mean, but helpful. He did negotiate prices with me. You will find something here, there is something for everyone.

Its a wonderful place lots of gorgeous things I would like to buy and I could buy. But I refused because the old man who works there or owns it is the most unfriendly grumpy man I have ever met. My sister recently bought a beautiful house that she wanted to furnish in antiques. I told you this place was wonderful. This old man acted like we were putting him out when I ask him to open one cabinet. Stood over us while we looked at items then promptly went backup and fell asleep in his chair. We continue to look and write down things we wanted. Went backup still asleep in his chair about an hour later serious. She asked to see some things she was very intrested in behind the counter he was obviously very put out by us and when she started to look at them He yelled that her! She had picked items out and was laying them on the counter for him to ring up and apparently he felt as though she was not Putting them down the way he wanted. Things she was buying! She finally turned to me and said I wont give this man my Business. I know that this is mostly consignment so to those of you who consign here this man is ruining any profit you could possibly get. Its time for him to go home.

Great variety and selection, with several floors of items. Lots of furniture, appliances, unique items, and standard antique fare. However, the owner or manager was rude and short, unwilling to answer basic questions, and annoyed at the presence of humans in his store. Once his favorite program came on the radio, he turned up the volume so loud that it was hard to hold a conversation with the person next to you (he likes This American Life, as do I, but I also own headphones or earbuds). And the prices were high. Many items were far more expensive than I’ve seen elsewhere.

Extremely interesting! Everywhere you look there is a piece of historic work and everything is sectioned out and organized in its own area, if you appreciate antiques, this is the place to go, the prices vary on the condition and age the product is so its bargained fairly, perfect Sunday outing or to visit with a loved one

This store has some amazing inventory. I purchased a large set of antique law books for my office. The service was terrific as the Great American Antiques staff carefully boxed up several hundred old volumes. In my experience you will deal with honest and hard working people at this store.
