Just left the store. Not only did it take longer than they mentioned to actually diagnose the problem. I had to call to remind them. Then they took a whole week for replacement. Upon picking up my laptop, it was fixed but I was missing my charger and they could not locate the charge I brought in.EDIT: I received noticed of the reply, contacted the business owner. Was told to return and was not able to receive my charger back. I’m not sure why you responded with you going “out of your way.” When I’m the customer who paid you for a service. Please give me back my things.

They aren’t honest about pricing quotes.. was told over the phone it would cost 89 dollars to get my pc built (wouldnt have even minded a round up to 100 for service etc. when i came back to pick it up, they said one of my parts wasn’t compatible for my pc.. when it is.. (friend has my exact build) and put a new ssd in without telling me. after they were finished i was told that i owed them a little over $400

Went to VICOM last week to get a Motherboard for my KID and the owner was very helpful and kind to our requests.The mother board that I bought required an update in order to accept new rayen processors and the owner did that at no extra charge. The we asked him to connect the board in order to see ir work and did that with all the hazle that is connecting a pc on a counter.Thank you sir for you patience and help.

I called in to see what the price was and what I would need to fix my laptop i walked in explained my problem and he knew exactly what the problem was I got it fixed it took about 2 hours and my laptop works as good as new. The guy that helped me was very kind and understanding and im definitely gonna come back if i have anymore if I haveproblems

I love my pc!! We originally had some issues getting it to run games but Duncan was extremely helpful and informative. He even fixed the issue free of charge! I would definitely recommend going here for any pc needs wether you’re a beginner or experienced. These aren’t cheap prebuilt pcs either- they’re top quality and he was able to get me the best parts for my budget!

This shop is selling GPUs at over twice cost of MSRP. When I asked why the price is so high, he quickly got defensive and said it was in line with market value (i.e. scalper prices on eBay and Amazon).

Top tier quality service. Utterly professional and honorable compared to local competitors large and small (Ive been around). A testament to why small businesses make America great.I must say this company is prompt in both response time and repair time, even for heavy damage. They do not try to rip you off, and make corporate giants like Apple not only seem greedy in their pricing for repairs but also contemptuous of their customers.A repair I had an equivalent done for on the same computer at the apple store 3 years ago was $2000, here at present it was $750. Apple had claimed a total refurbishment, yet imperfections on the screen remained. This suggested to me they did the bare minimum while charging the world.Here the screen has been totally fixed and the computer runs great.Theyve also helped with other issues, including gaming pc construction assitance.

Whoever I worked with today in the store is absolutely the reason why Ill be coming back to this store. I love thats its locally owned and operated as well as reasonably priced. Not afraid to talk to you and help without necessarily selling you something.Im somewhat tech savvy and went there for some advice and to take advantage of their great experience. Im very impressed and theyre certainly the only place Id ever go next time I need some help.Highly recommended!

This shop is five star all the way. I am very tech savvy myself. But wanted to transfer the responsibility of installing a high-end air cooler onto my AMD 3+. Luckily, I did because somehow the heat from the CPU ruined the integrity of the grease. As a result, Duncan had to work his magic to remove the heatsink from the CPU. This shop has been around for a very long time and that fact that it still exists past the many computer shop closures in Austin should give you an idea.

In my opinion, the best PC Repair outfit in Austin. If your computer has crashed, or you need an upgrade or you just want to optimize what you already have, these are the pros to use. Just had our game machine upgraded and I can’t say enough good things about their work. Highly recommended.

I have been going to ViCom PC ever since I moved into the area. The owner, Duncan, is a computer wizard. I am pretty tech savvy myself, but when Im stumped you can be sure Duncan has the answer. Prices are compatible with any other PC repair/supply store in the area. Id rather spend my money to help out the small business owner than throw it at some overrated chain like Best Buy and you get the one on one time you need. You may have to wait a couple minutes for service, but Duncan will take the time to explain everything to you so you leave with a little better understanding of what he did to revive your system.

Rude and charges $49.99 to flash your bios(something amd will do for free)... Yeah no thanks.

I have been a customer of Vicom for most of my 10+ years in Austin. They built up my current PC and have upgraded components like mother board, sound card and graphics card. My trip today was due to a password change that stopped my email. Duncan fixed it quickly and did not charge me. I highly recommend them.

Great place to bring your laptop if you have issues. Amazing customer service! I ended up needing a replacement and since i was getting all the bells and whistles they gave me a discount. My new laptop was ready to go in less than 24 hours with all my data transferred from my busted laptop.

Went to pick up some thermal paste. An employee told me they have Arctic Silver 5. The tube that was handed to me didnt look like AS5 and want labeled as such. I mentioned this and the employee stated that they buy in bulk and that its Arctic Silver 5. Got home and the paste came out white with a different consistency than that of AS5. Wont be going back.

I was dreading the time, energy, and expense of having my laptop fixed or having to replace it. On a recommendation from a friend, I brought my laptop into VicomPC on a Saturday morning and spoke to Duncan. He was extremely patient with me and all of my annoying questions (not a tech person at all!). He also provided fair and honest recommendations as to my options. All said and done - I was in and out in no time with a laptop similar to my original at a fraction of the cost I was expecting to pay. I highly recommend VicomPC for any of your high tech needs!

Unhappy1st experience: they replaced a keyboard on my laptop. Days later a key is stuck. They say, oh, it’s a bad keyboard. It takes weeks for them to order and get in a new one. They replace it. Okay, it’s not their fault, I guess, and did fix it.2nd experience: laptop is infected. Take it in. They clean it for 89 dollars. Get the laptop home and it’s still infected. Call them, they don’t call back. I finally get through, take it in, and with no apologies he asks me to show him the problem. He says, “Oh, you use Chrome? I only took care of Explorer.”Huh? The Chrome icon is right there. You should clean/fix everything for 89 dollars, I think to myself. He fixed it in a minute. Then he gets a phone call and leaves the room. I guess we are finished so I leave.Bottom line:1. The work was not done correctly on the first and second jobs.2. He did not check his work before the job left his shop (first and second jobs), and he took zero responsibility for his work on the second job.I won’t be going back, nor do I recommend you go there.
