What an excellent shopping spot. The clothes are excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful, giving tips about what to do, where to go, and what to eat while visiting Austin. I even accidentally got my drink all over the woman helping me and she was super understanding about it. Highly recommend this place.

Men and womens clothing boutique catering to the fashion forward. You come here because you recognize and appreciate the finer details in design and construction, and are thus willing to pay the price. They try to bring trunk shows and other events to their stores to offer a differentiated experience to your big mall stores. The staff tries to be helpful but YMMV.

I havent been back in years because of their price points, but great if you want to find something unique and cute. Have a great selection of designer jeans. Staff can be a bit snobbish. But good local store with some great finds that you wont find elsewhere.

Heres an experience where the sales clerk assumed she was better than her clients and refused to provide service in a respectful manner. My friend and I finished happy hour and stopped by, looking for an outfit for an out-of-country trip, and the women who greeted us were kind--save for the elderly woman with red hair and glasses. My friend was trying on clothes and this woman proceeded to whip open the curtains to the changing room and expose my friend, and barked if we were okay. Shocked, I closed the curtains and told her we were fine. She obviously didnt like that I was enforcing boundaries and she again violated us, whipping open the curtains for the store to see and proceeded to call us girls.Girls do not make $800-1200 purchases and this type of micro-aggression is gross. If you cannot treat a person who has darker skin than you with dignity, then you might not want to work with people in general. The other staff were nice, and of a generation who understands that racism isnt a good look.

By George always has something I like. They are up to date with trends but they have timeless pieces as well. The clothing is high and its great quality. They have beautiful accessories as well.

By George, a classy apparel store for men and women. Carrying clothing brands such as Givenchy and Marni, and products such as jewelry, handbags and sunglasses, finding a gift for a loved one will be easy.TIP: Second location on South Congress Avenue.

My wife always finds excellent and unique clothing here, especially in the shoe section. This is definitely a great Austin find.

Ive been in here a few times... Out of all of those times, I havent been helped- but Ive gotten some sideways glances that seem a little unwelcoming. I have seen things that I liked here, but never felt comfortable enough to ask for help in finding the right size (shoes). Id rather just order things online, helping myself, rather than worry about what some salesperson thinks of me.

I have never purchased anything from By George but I have browsed many times. They have a good selection and a variety of styles. I find their prices a little high for the type of clothes but that tends to be a trend with SoCo stores.

Great merchandise with everything from Byredo candles to Loewe handbags. The staff was a bit on the pushy side though.

I cant even afford to breathe the air in this store. me, what? $650 for a sleeveless top? its cute, but $650? snobby store clerk with a sniff, its stella mccartney. me, i cant believe anyone would pay $650 for this little thing. ssc, we have tons of people buying them. me, really? as i look around an empty store.

By far the best boutique in texas, maybe the us. service is great, but the owners carefully curated selections are unique, beautiful, and very well made.

I love by george, both the s. congress and n. lamar locations. there is definitely a difference- the by george on s. congress seems to cater more to a younger, hipper clientele, carrying brands like parker, nsf, and french connection, while the by george on n. lamar carries higher-end, more sophisticated brands like lanvin, alexander wang, helmut lang, and rag & bone. vary your shopping accordingly depending on what youre looking for, but both locations stock carefully curated collections of designer clothing and constantly have new arrivals. it isnt cheap, of course, but it is designer clothing... not sure what some other reviewers expected. my favorite part of shopping at both locations is the extremely helpful, thoughtful staff. they actually pay attention to your style and are very attentive if you are looking for an outfit or item for a specific event. and they remember me when i come back! (keep in mind im 25 and dont dress like i have money.) theres a reason by george is one of the top boutiques in the country. if you are looking for well-fitting, high-quality clothing in austin, theres no better place to go.

Love love this place! The price point is higher than most stores in Austin, but the quality and well sought after pieces and designers is worth it!

Expensive, but interesting to peruse. A very tasteful selection of clothing in general - if you have the cash to burn, check them out.
