Took a drive and ended up at the Oak Hill store....it was AMAZING! The store was clean and very organized. The staff made me feel welcome and not bothered at all that I asked a lot of questions! The inventory of items was in really GOOD/EXCELLENT condition. I really love the Goodwill stores, but I think this one will be at the top of my list to shop and have a nice relaxing drive since I live in North Austin!! Final shout out to the staff here...really friendly, down to earth people...thank you, Goodwill and BRAVO for your service!

They sold me a cleaning appliance but didnt put on the sticker that it was part of a set. The appliance was plugged in and charging, I saw the part it was supposed to go with but wasnt anywhere near the appliance. There was no indication at the time they belonged together until I looked it up online. I found out they threw it away when I went to go look for it

Great staff and fair prices at this Oakhill location. It’s not like the Lakeway Goodwill which is way overpriced for used items. It doesn’t help the people who actually need Goodwill to afford clothes and utensils. Oak Hill has a kind and helpful staff as well.

Laughable. As has been the norm for a while, prices are ridiculous at all Central Texas Goodwills. Case in point - a pair of mens rain boots from Academy with a Goodwill sticker price of $19.99. The original Academy price? $19.99. Not even an attempt to hide their price gouging. Get a grip, Goodwill. Get back to your roots of taking DONATIONS, and pricing items so your target audience can afford decent used items.

My sister and I are die hard thrift shoppers. We have visited every Goodwill as well as many other mom and pop thrift stores in the Austin area. The Oak Hill Goodwill is always our go to thrift store in Austin. If we are anywhere close, it is always going to be a stop for us. The employees are always courteous and customer oriented The merchandise is constantly being refreshed and we never fail to find something of value to make our trip worthwhile. Thank you for your great customer service and please keep up the good work and positive attitude!

Love this GW! I have purchased 5-10 items of womens clothing the last three times Ive been in the store - amazing to have found that many great items on each visit! Staff are super friendly and helpful. I have bought some housewares as well and have always been pleased. It is true that you generally need to go up to the cash registers to get someone to open a dressing room for you, but once you do, someone immediately and happily assists.I have discovered holes in two of the shirts that Ive purchased. I returned one of them because I caught it right away and it had 5 holes. Not sure how it missed my attention while trying on, or that of the staff while processing and tagging? I do think that the lighting in the dressing rooms is rather poor. The only other recommendation I have for GM is to ensure that all dressing rooms have adequate fixtures for hangers. Several of the rooms have fixtures missing (you can see where they were previously were on the walls; drywall not repaired). It would be nice to hang all ones items to try on rather than piling them up on the bench in the dressing room.Minor suggestions for improvement to an overall fantastic store!

While I have been able to find good deals here at times, there is way too much stuff that is marked up and really shouldn’t be. For instance, they treat Zara clothing as if it’s a luxury brand and it’s not. The kid’s Zara clothes are often priced higher than it was brand new. Same with Zara women’s. A dress that was originally $22 should not be $15 at a thrift store. They also don’t take into account the CONDITION clothes are in when pricing. Lululemon in great condition for $20? SCORE! Lululemon with stains or holes and pilling for $20? You’re crazy. This is exactly why I do not donate to Goodwill. I don’t want to donate somewhere that marks up used clothing that high.

Out of all the Goodwills I have been to, this one tops the list. The staff here are so positive, friendly and accommodating. They have a very large selection thats always organized neatly and categorized appropriately to sections. If your not into browsing the store you should definitely check out the in store auction they hold every Saturday. Some of the best items come thru this Auction and you dont want to miss out. Oh and while your in there ask for the GM Naomi. Shes my favorite 😁😉

Its okay. The bathrooms are hideous. There has seriously been the same fecal matter splashed on the wall for about a year now. Theres always feces splattered all over the toilets and the one stall door is so loud and difficult to even open it hurts my ears, its obnoxious. Management is not friendly. We go here very regularly and for some reason they decided to put the toys right in front of where they push theyre huge carts into he back room. And it never fails they all glare at my kids and even us if were looking at the toys like we made the mess or they walk by pushing and shoving toys out of the way especially with one lady kicking thing out of the way like shes mad at us.. And we just walked over there. Its so unprofessional and seriously rude, never makes me feel welcome. Theres that same lady there usually upfront and the only time she made us feel welcome was AFTER she insisted very nastily something was going to be a certain price like we we did something wrong and my husband guess it was cheaper while we got a price check (he ended up being right) and then she rang it up the price she thought it should have been on accident and she spent the next 5minutes apologizing and laughing and acting nice for the first time in probably the 3 1/2 years Ive been going there. Its usually just not a very pleasant goodwill to go to. Oh and they make it difficult to even try on clothes because no one is ever there to ask to open the doors..

Goodwill used to be a really good company. However, I dont know what happened. I went there today to find a dog crate and some knickknacks. Found the dog crate, it had a rusty door and was nasty, so I asked for a price reduction of at least $10 since it was $25. Talked to one of the employees and they said I had to speak with a manager. So I talked to the manager, he said he couldnt even bring it down by one dollar. Store policy. So I left it along with everything else I intended to buy. I can not believe that if its 100% donated that they cant work with the customer. Good employees, bad management

The older man who looked like the manager spoke rudely to me when I came in close to closing time, because I was holding up his entire crew of people. I came in five minutes before close and knew exactly what I was going to get but he didnt care. He forced me out of the store, and seemed like he enjoyed telling me to leave with an icky attitude. I love shopping at goodwill and have been shopping there for years but that guy made me feel like I should stop shopping at that location, which is inconvenient because its so close to my house. It is unprofessional to let your miserable attitude rub off onto your customers!

Found chair. Liked chair. Worried, because my car is small, but Im new to Austin and have no furniture. Problematically, I dont know anyone with a truck (or at all, for that matter) in the area, so I asked the young gentlemen on the sales floor if I purchased the chair and it couldnt fit in my car, if I could return or even exchange it. He said yes. Took price tag to front. Explained situation to cashier. Told that no, we dont do returns or exchanges on furniture, even if youre standing in the parking lot with an already-purchased chair and cant take it home. Asked if perhaps we could try and fit the thing first, just to make sure, and even offered to leave my drivers license and/or debit card to ensure that I wouldnt jump behind the wheel and drive off into the sunset, all Jesse James style, once the chair was wedged in my back seat. A bit frustrated, because theres obviously a lack of communication here. No big deal though. She said that was fine, and there was no reason to leave anything with her, and that the young man from the floor would help me. So after being told to pull around back, an angry looking woman comes outside and asks me what I want. I explained my situation, told her the lady in the front authorized the trial-loading, and she informed me that it didnt matter what the lady in the front said, shes the lady in the back and she doesnt have time to be moving things that havent been paid for and blah blah blah. Angry now, but theres still a good Christian inside me somewhere, so I bit my tongue, and asked for a measuring tape. Seemed reasonable. Explained that I had every intention of buying the thing, I just needed to be sure I could get it home. She said fine, left, came back and said she couldnt find it. Then asked me, Dont you have one?I dont expect department store service from Goodwill. Its Goodwill, for Christs sake. Its a thrift shop. But all I wanted to do was buy a chair. Seems like if somebody had the wherewithal to explain to these poor folks what the damn policy is regarding whether or not an item fits in somebodys car, I just might not still be sitting in a god forsaken patio chair in the middle of my living room. Or at the very least, I could have gotten a clear answer and not wasted twenty minutes of mine and everyone elses time. Or really just mine, because I probably only spent about five minutes with each employee. Go somewhere else.
