Came here for custom growlers and dominoes! Really neat place. Lots of selection of steins, growlers and other bar ware and dominoes. We stayed to fill a growler and have a few pints. Owner was really knowledgeable and friendly. Were definitely coming back when we visit next. The selection of beers highlights this area of Texas as well as offer a few special kegs... like the Beer Camp ones. Great local business!

This place is so great. Dean is amazing. Have never met anyone with as an extensive knowledge of beer like him. Great selection of beers and awesome selection of growlers and mugs and paraphernalia. Highly recommended. Plus you can get 512 IPA on tap to take home. So good. Edit: months later still the best place ever. As a regular you get a glass personally engraved. You matter here.

Simple place for a beer or to fill up your growler. Nothing fancy, but they are nice and dogs are allowed.

This place is one of a kind because; The more time you spend there the more opportunities youve given yourself to have your mind blown, I really mean everything they put on is good. They have a little bit of everything, so if youre looking to drink some beer this would be the place. The staff is very knowledgeable about the ingredients and history, I have walked in several times and had beers paired with what I brought or what i was having. Seriously, one time i walked in with ice cream and had it paired with some beer and it literally had me spinning it was such an amazing experience. Side notes; when the list is right, they will have many mixes listed on the board they came up with. Im really missing that pineapple habanero sculpin mix on a monthly basis. This place is a diamond in the rough. Stein Sunday is one of the best deals in Austin! Bring your own Stein and get it filled for the same price as a pint.They also have some of the most unique beer selections in the area. If you have a growler you owe it to yourself to check this place out. The staff is always helpful, friendly, and will recommend a brew you never thought you want to try.

The place for a wide varieties of beer that you cant get at most bars. You can get growlers filled with local and awesome beers from around the country. You can ship from here, as well. They have all the glassware, bar and beer merchandise that you need. They can etch glassware to personalize your beer vessel. I really appreciate the diversity and openness of the patrons that visit here.

This place is like cheers, but instead of knowing your name, they know your nick name. Amazing place to meet new friends, and meet old ones as well. No TVs here, or loud live music to hinder conversations at reasonable volume to your voice.

Pretty overdue on a review of this place. All the positive reviews are true. This place is awesome. Dean knows beer, and even better knows what people like. Tell him what youre in the mood for, and hell set you up quite well. His fills are the best fills in town, and his prices are great. The environment in The Growler Room is very comfortable, and is a fine place to just hang out and have a pint or two as well. My only problem is this place has spoiled me and makes all other growler fill places seem like rank amateurs. If you enjoy beer, go here, period.

I dont visit this place often but my husband goes a lot. The owner is very knowlegeable when it comes to beers. Its a laid back bar where you can actually talk to your friends. I love to look at all the different kinds of beer glasses and growlers they have along the walls. Theyre even for sale and you can get the growlers engraved.

Fantastic friendly staff with reasonable prices and a great rotating selection. Comfy couches, clean space and they truly want you to find a beer you like. Keep tasting until you love the beer. They have deals on Sundays on steins and you can buy your own Stein and have it etched to keep there or bring your own. Feels like the local bar weve been looking for. Did I mention free popcorn?

The bartender Natalie is awesome! She will educate you on the beer as she feeds you some of the best craft brew there is. Small place. Personal service. An Austin hidden gem.

Very beer savvy and smart staff and willing to let you try any beers on tap. Always a great selection and friendly employees willing to help you. if you want more than just a growler fill they have lots of glasses, mugs, signs, towels and other things you can buy. The owner is very welcoming and employees always have a smile to greet you. I highly recommend the growler room if you are visiting or live in Austin.

So I hit up the Growler Room earlier this evening for the very first time ever. All I have to say is that this place is quite the spot, no doubt about it. The biggest thing I could appreciate is the vast amount of knowledge I got from this place. No matter what questions I had, Sean was more than able to help out and make a few suggestions of his own.Now the beer! oh man, what a great variety of local brews they got going on here. Plenty of great favorites from 512, Zilker, Real Ale, H&G, Live Oak!Great staff, awesome selection at very affordable prices! I mean you get the point, just head down there and check it out yourself. Im definitely headed out there for more in the near future! Hope they still got some of that Whiskey Shakes next time around. Cheers!

We happened upon this establishment on a recent Sunday afternoon. Upon entering, we noticed the extensive draft selection, with a number of beers that were both unique and high in quality. The owner Dean, quickly greeted us and began to share his passion for beer. It is quite clear that Dean has a flair for quality beer offerings, and is also highly engaging. I cannot express what a great time we had while sharing a few pints and exploring his selective beer selections. If youre into craft beer and wish to enjoy a nice time in an unpretentious atmosphere, then this place is for you. We will certainly be back and patron this well run beer haven. Thanks again Dean for your knowledge and kindness.

Published hours of business need changing. I made a special out-of-town trip on 10/7/2019 and at 1pm it was closed. The neighboring businesses said the place generally doesnt open until later in the afternoon.

Small and cozy local pub atmosphere. Not like the big loud cant hear yourself places. GREAT range of beers (again- not those same beers you find on tap at EVERY other place). Also has a couple non beer items on tap. Have you ever had 32 degree cold brew coffee? I like it because I can get a light fruity crisp beer if I want, a beer flavored beer, or a heavier one. Its also fun to get a beer and top is off with the Ginger beer on tap!

This has quickly become one of my most favorite places to frequent in Austin. I love the selection and the guys that work there are so good at their jobs it is not even funny! They know everything there is to know about beer and can really steer you in the right direction regarding what your pallet is thirsty for when you come in.

Worst customer experience I’ve ever had. I came in to ask about the business and was shopping to look for gifts for some friends. While being as friendly as possible, I was treated with absolute disrespect like they didn’t want my business and treat the customer as a waste of time. I remained polite and when I called them back to ask about it (as a professional business consultant) he couldn’t take the feedback and hung up on me. I thought we were disconnected and called again and same thing. Just close down the business guys since you clearly don’t want any!I’m appalled and offended by such unprofessionalism. If I could rate them with negative stars I would.

The best place to get a growler or have one filled. They also sell half growlers, so if you want to try some draught but dont want a full growlers worth, thats an option. They have a revolving selection of seasonal and new arrivals to the state. The prices are excellent and the staff is extremely helpful. This is my first option for growler fills in town.

And to hear Seans knowledgeable opinions about beer and musings about life. After a few samples the decision just seemed to get harder. My take-homes this go round (5/25) were the Karbach Kolsch and the Ranger Creek Strawberry Milk Stout, which hails from Houston.Go here to purchase a growler and fill it (and re-fill it) with delicious craft beer to take home. You can taste some samples but it isnt a bar scene where you can hang out.
