Been going for inspections over 10 years. Looks like a new breed of rudeness work there now. This overly large guy didnt like that I wanted to do the driving road test part because he couldnt fit in my car. He then tossed the ICU cable at me through the car window and wanted me to do the inspection because he was having a meltdown. I took the abuse as just wanted the inspection and be done with it. Wish he knew how close he was for bad times

This is the one and only place I go for emissions check and oil change. They dont make up stuff to charge you for so youll pass emissions like some others do. The owner is so nice!

Honest, reasonably priced, and offers several quick services. Had to wait approximately 1.5 hours for state inspection, but inspector was going pretty quick through each vehicle.

They top off all engine fluids and added air to the tires. They even washed my windsheild.I highly recommend this little shop in the heart of South Austin on Lamar. Im impressed by their high level of service.

$80 basic oil and fluids. Not the simple and affordable place it used to be. They didnt ask any questions, just had me drive in and then gave the full treatment without asking any preferences. Its not that the service isnt good, its that it was forced along with new premium pricing. Upsell all the way as opposed to meeting customer needs, its a false smile. Ten years in, Im finding somewhere else.

Fast and friendly service on one of the busiest days for state inspections in Texas (April 13th, 2021 aka, the last day lol). This was my second place that attempted and they were able to fix problems that another shop missed.Not only did I get my brake light fixed but was informed that my bald tires wouldnt pass and they recommended me to a tire place up the road.I got everything resolved due to their efficiency.

I brought a 2008 Mercedes-Benz ML350 to these guys, and they were honest and straightforward about the service required. In short, these guys are good! Fast, friendly, and just straight up good guys. I cant recommend enough.

Went to get a state inspection in the middle of the afternoon which is usually busy times for auto shops. But man I only had to wait maybe 15 minutes. And the service was great and fast! Was recommended by a few friends of mine for this place so I felt the need to write a sweet review. I definitely recommend this place for now on.

Great spot to get a quick inspection.

Only positive was I was able to get right away for inspection. But access and parking were terrible. The guy was rude. Like he hated even helping me. And when I gave him the benefit of the doubt and thanked him for his quick service and told him how unsuccessful it had been at other places, he just ignored me.

Great customer service, super quick, and HONEST employees! I got a car inspection done and they cleaned my windows that were covered in tree sap, refilled my window cleaning fluid, and made my car smell super nice. I thought my cabin air filter needed to be replaced but they said it was super clean. Other places might have tried to take advantage of me and lied and said it did need to be replaced. They also gave me some great advice. I’ll definitely come back.

My husband has always loved this place, so I decided to go here for my car inspection. Cody was fabulous! He was so sweet to try and trouble shoot some blinker issues I was having and took the time to explain what was happening. He was super quick. As for some of the other reviews, I saw everyone working there and in the oil change area wearing masks even though it was a billion degrees outside. I moved to Austin three months ago. And when I got here I searched for a place close by where I can get the inspection I needed to transfer my plates to Texas plates. Stopped by this place and I have to say they were quick, provided very friendly service and are affordable. I would definitely highly recommend them!

I showed up for an inspection today at 8, which is opening time. The inspector shook his head because I showed up first thing in the morning or something. That’s unacceptable. No customer should have to receive that kind of attitude from an employee. I left and went down the road to the muffler shop where they have protocols set in place. I will never come back to Lube PitStop.

This is an honest business run by knowledgeable mechanics that genuinely look out for you.Folks here are friendly and take the time to educate you about your vehicle and its maintenance needs. I come here regularly for oil changes, but their services do not stop there.Each time I visit, it is like a vehicle check up. My car is looked over from front to back, fluids are topped-off, tire pressure is corrected, and my windshield is even washed. During this inspection, a mechanic informed me about a bracket on the muffler that needed repair (the muffler would rub against the rear tire). He showed me what was happening and offered a few friendly tips on how I could repair it myself. This is just one example that begins to illustrate how the people at Pit Stop truly care and value their customers.

I didn’t use this place but tried to use the inspection office behind it. There were about four autos in line to get inspections which would have been fine if the one person doing them stayed in there doing them and not running around talking first to one then another person.... and then back again...I waited and waited ... and waited. ... finally gave up and drove up North to a place I knew would treat people right. I was right! The other place was in and out with your inspection done by someone paying attention.Should have just driven the extra distance in the first place for first rate customer service! Won’t make this mistake again!!

Ive had my vehicle inspections there for over 15 years. Today the inspections attendant pointed out a different entry to the lot and explained how other people have had traffic back up using the entry I did (again, 15 years using that entry) and that they were not thinking and gestured pointing to his head. I let it go but reconsidered letting them inspect my car once i realized no one was using any face covering and i just saw one of the other attendants sneeze into his hands and phone 2 feet from the guy about to inspect my car. Going to the muffler place further south from now on. They have protocols in place!

These guys are great. They are always fast and friendly. I watched them sanitize between cars and they will wear a mask in your car if you ask them to. Much appreciated.

Poor service, poor attitude and inept management, would not change the oil in my 2008 LR2, said it would take too long, you would think with all the Land Rovers in Austin these guys would know how to change the oil and have the proper oil filters on hand, since ...Thats their business, but no, too lazy to learn, too little customer service to care. The last Pennzoil Stop I used for 15 years could do it in 15 minutes. Find another place to get your oil changed, the owners/managers need a lesson in customer service.

They finished up the oil change in under 15 minutes. Good customer service.I had some issues with the price. $93! It was fully synthetic, which does drive the price up. However, I always get fully synthetic! That price is 50% higher than I have ever had to pay for an oil change.

I went to this place for oil change and checked other things for free including brakes(according to their adversting)，was told everything was fine. just three weeks later, my brakes start to squeaking and grinding, I ended up have to change break pad and rotor at the same time. they did not even bother to check for me when I changed my oil

Best place for vehicle inspections. Go around the oil place to the back and there are some old fashioned shanty huts and some good lads manning them. Slam your vehicle into a parking spot, sit on a broken chair, pay your $17 and boom... Youve got yourself another year before you have to do this pointless money grabbing dance again! Thanks TX!

I always get amazing and fast service every time I go here. They go above and beyond to make sure that youre taken cared of. Theyre extremely honest and dont try to overcharge you. Its a little out of my way, but its totally worth going to. I HIGHLY recommend it!

As a young woman who knows next to nothing about vehicles, it can be very frustrating going to get an oil change or inspection because I’m unsure if the mechanics are trying to up sell me and/or they speak to me like I’m incompetent for not understanding what they are talking about. Which is why I have been going to Lube Pit Stop for 4 years! The gentleman are always kind and accommodating. They change my oil in 10-15 minutes! If they find an issue, they explain it to me so that even I can understand. I feel safe and comfortable when I visit and I know me and my car are being taken care of.

I also get my car inspections done there as well and they are quick and honest about those as well. As long as I’m in Austin I’ll keep bringing my cars here!! This place is THE new definition for expedient and efficient. The crew was able to determine what type of oil change to do (I was just helping out my daughter) and they not only did the oil change in less than 15 minutes, they checkouted the hoses, topped up the fluids, cleaned the windshield and adjusted the tire pressure. The price is right for the service and value.

I went to this place after all the great reviews here on Yelp. I needed state inspection to be done and since I’m new to the states, the process was new to me.When I arrived at the garage I pulled right in to a free spot and once I got out of the car, there were already two people below the car and two waiting in front of it waiting for me to open the hood.I then had to explain that I wasn’t looking for oil change so they showed me where I have to go. Instead of me driving the car, they took the car for me to the other side of the area. The guys were really quick and super helpful.At the state inspection station, the person working over there was quick and friendly as well. He even explained me what he was doing at each step since I was curious.Highly recommend this place!

The people are fantastic, I come here for pretty much anything car related. I had issues with my cars headlights for the longest time since everywhere I went, nobody could figure out how to replace it. At some point I had given up on ever fixing it. First time here for an inspection, the guy fixes it for around 6 dollars. You can definitely trust your vehicle with these guys!

I came to this place after searching on my maps for local lube places. I saw that this place was highly rated so decided to go. The ratings werent wrong. The guys there are all very nice and informative. They check all fluids and let you know if there is anything they see that is out of the ordinary. Great place and Ill be back.

Needed a vehicle inspection and google found this place for me. Took a chance and it paid off. The wait was very short, as they seem to have dedicated staff for inspections only. Two vehicles before me took only about 10 minutes.I had a brake light out in the middle rear of my truck. Technician replaced it for ten bucks and had the proper tools to unscrew it and open it. He showed me how to do it and was very nice about it all.Overall I highly recommend this place for vehicle inspections!

Came here for an inspection during lunch. Despite 6 cars in line to get and oil change, they pulled my car around back and quickly did the inspection. I was in and out within 30 minutes.I recommend this place for oil changes and inspections.

I brought my old crossfire and now bring my brand new civic turbo. I buy my own Mobil 1 oil and pay for labor. This is the only place in south/central Austin that I let touch my vehicles.
