The High Museum of Art is perfectly designed for art lovers to enjoy. Each exhibit is remarkably as amazing as the other. I spent about three hours, and was able to see all of the exhibits. I was pleased to learn about so many different cultures. The museum is very beautiful, and I had an amazing experience.

Its nice. There are three buildings worth of art. (2 wings and the light exhibit in the building across the wall way). The art varies from photography to scrap yard art. The museum embodies people from all walks of life. They have a nice play area for kids 2 different rooms. I think this is a great spot for a date or family outing. Some of the art is explicit though. So beware.

When they are not filming the TV series “The Resident” this place is a wonderful museum. We just went to the traveling Calder-Picasso exhibition which is absolutely mesmerizing. Great description and exhibits. Then be sure to see the rest of the exhibits from contemporary to folk art. This is an Atlanta “must see”, and at less than $20 a head), is a great deal. I’m sure discounts are available. Great staff and gift shop. Parking can be a hassle, but the quality of the museum is well worth the effort to find parking.

Visited the High Museum to see the Calder Picasso special exhibit. Was my first time there and was blown away by the fresh architectural presence of the museum juxtaposed in a rapidly modernizing part of the city of Atlanta. The exhibit itself was finely curated; it unraveled a tale of two artists and their evolution as told by both of their grandsons. There were warm and kind ushers throughout the museum - a rarity for many musuems. It was not stuffy, despite the rich array of collections. Womens wing and BIPOC artists were present in some galleries - more than at most modern art museums in the US, but still left wanting even more. A wide array of material and media in each gallery kept the attention and eagerness to see what was around the next corner. Gift shop was eclectic as every fantastic art museum gift shop should be. Pricey. Cafe was meager and lacking but it is pandemic times. A wonderful 2.5 hr experience and I likely only saw 1/4 of what the museum had to offer. The campus was family friendly with open areas outside to explore and run, but some possibly unsafe on-street parking options behind the museum.

There’s certainly a lot to see at this museum, and they have a good variety of art from the classics to the modern. The building is kind of in a goofy layout, but it just adds to the ambience of an art museum. Definitely take advantage of the free weekend entry days. It can be crowded but tolerable, nonetheless.

Lovely art museum in Atlanta. I go every year, and this years visit was for the Picasso + Calder exhibition. The exhibit was well curated, and I loved seeing the juxtaposition of the artists work. My only qualm was the formation of lines outside the museum were extremely unorganized with no signage or employees informing us where to go. I would just suggest getting there a bit early to make your window!

On the website it’s states that service animals were welcome into the museum but we were told that no service dogs or support animals were allowed. We explained to his that he detects blood sugar levels as well as provide emotional support but he refused. This man was very rude and not understanding of what the policy nor the website listed. Please hire front desk and cafe staff who value customer service! Assuming you hire avid art lovers or students (those who would be open to working part time)? As a visitor services and events manager at an art museum I recommend you focus on hires who value customer service with an interest in art. Trust me it worked for my museum, also try hiring older/mature. Expectations just need to be higher, team was not welcoming and didn’t offer any information regarding the museum. One was on her phone, the other just staring at the computer-at least say hello when someone walks in.Beautiful museum, just disappointed with the service.
