We took a drive on a cold rainy day to check this place out. And, Wow!, very impressed with premises first of all, secondly, the staff is extremely courteous and very willing to help with any questions. So the products, they are right on point, the price point and quality of what is here is what we were hoping to find. The low end up to the high end is great. Dont bother with big name stores/home improvement places. This is the place to get your needs at a reasonable price.

The store has so much to offer. So many items to see, and several, several different items not found elsewhere 🤔there were several folks there willing to help me locate things and the selection is awesome. Prices are mid to high, but I was looking more mid-to-low as the remodeling process has been expensive. I liked several things I saw,

I am a new customer of Builders Surplus. Within 5 minutes of walking around the warehouse I found what I was looking for. In that five minutes, I was asked by three employees if I needed any help. Directions was all at that point I needed.. As soon as I found the doors I needed, I turned around and there stood a young man named Sam, I asked him what I needed to do to get twelve doors out and to the front of the store. With a big smile, he said give me your list and Ill bring them right up. Before I could finish paying the bill....Sam had my doors up front and ready to load. After backing my pickup up the ramp Sam and Rob started loading them for me. Their selection of doors is great but really it’s the staff that’s A+. They are not only knowledgeable but also understand what it means to provide excellent customer service. Nicole is a star—professional, down to earth and willing to go above and beyond to work with customers directly—an exemplary model of management. I came in with very limited knowledge at all of what I needed other than two interior doors at a specific width and height, and she and her staff patiently worked with me to get exactly what I needed at a good price. Fwiw, I rarely ever write reviews but I felt that it’d be worth it to share my experience this time—I highly recommend.

I recently hired, Kenneth Roman of Roman Contractor, to install a front and back door to my house. I bought the doors from Builders Surplus in Garland, Tx. He had to rebuild the frame to my front door so this beautiful wood door fit. The front door is solid raw wood and I finished it myself. The back door was a standard panel exterior door. Besides being very knowledgeable in everything ‘door’, he is comfortably communicative in all my questions and issues, and that is how he saved me hundreds of dollars in my expected plans. I recommend him for your door work.

Do NOT trust this business! We recently purchased a slide in oven range from them. A store associate/employee helped my husband load the appliance into the back of the truck and immediately after the appliance was loaded, the glass door to the oven combusted and glass went everywhere. The employee stood there and watched the whole thing and claimed they were not at fault and would not allow us to exchange or return. Clearly the appliance was defaulted and they refused to help. My husband asked several times to speak to a store manager and was ignored.

My wife and I recently went to this place to get a tub for our bathroom. On that day, it was completely packed. We found what we wanted fairly quickly and had some questions about other items. In all of the activity, an employee named Efrain Fuentes was hustling to help each person waiting and was doing so in a timely manner. When he got to us, he immediately transported the tub we wanted to the checkout counter and, while we were waiting, went to the back to check on the other items we had questions about. Not only did he keep going back to get items that we eventually never got, he did so without an attitude and in an extremely friendly manner. Even after stating that I forgot to bring cash for a tip, he continued to help us out with zero change in his service. Thank you Efrain for going above and beyond. Because of employees like you, we will be back for sure!

So Im new to the home improvement and have literally no knowledge of hardware, measurements, supplies, etc. I went to this place to purchase doors and supplies to renovate my beauty shop and I was greeted and helped by their associate Woodney. He helped me all the way through. From finding what I was looking for and helping us tote it in my husbands truck. He was very friendly and had a good sense of humor. The price I spent was also affordable compared to Home depot and Lowes.

I was shopping for materials for my clients. When I got to the tile section, Kenny was extremely helpful! I had my client on video chat measuring her space and Kenny was very patient and helpful. He put her at ease and made my job more pleasant.5-5-21 RJ was very helpful in selecting my hood vent.

Had an emergency call that someone had broken the glass out of a glass insert of a customers backdoor. it was 5:40 pm and they were about to close at 6pm. GPS said I was 25 minutes away with traffic. I called and explained I would reach them 5 minutes after closing and told them my dilemma. They said sure no problem. I was 5 min late getting there but they were still there and I was able to get the insert I needed. Thanks guys. you were great.

Chad provided excellent service! Needed lots of items. Flooring, doors, windows etc. He was very known and knew what I needed. He even checked on delivery. Good customer service is hard to come by...but this company is on point!!!

Been shopping at Builders Surplus for a couple of years. Hit and miss with customer service at this location from both entry level workers and management. Ive had great service and absolutely rude service. They have a no returns policy for all items which frankly sucks for real estate investors such as myself, but quality products and sometimes unique finds. Not my favorite place to shop, but when I cant find what I need at other places theyre typically at least worth a visit.

Went there looking for kitchen cabinets. Crazy high prices !!But, the worst part was from the minute we walked in, until the moment we walked out no one spoke to us, greeted us ... except the 1 man WE stopped to ask a question. We went into the design center & still no one said hello, can I help you, etc.

We had a mixed experience over several visits. Some of our customer service experiences were outstanding! Others were frustrating (including not answering the main number frequently & having hard time connecting with managers if there is an issue). We updated the doors in our entire house, which was quite an undertaking. The majority of the doors we got were in great condition and great prices. Buyers BEWARE of ALL frosted glass doors!We bought 2 “laundry” frosted glass door slabs, and a solid wood prehung door with 5 frosted glass panels, which all turned out to be a disaster. They come with a plastic film covering to protect the glass. We never thought to remove it to check for scratches/damage etc. After paying for a truck and transporting them to our home, having them painted and professionally installed, we finally removed the film to see that the doors were an absolute MESS with scratches, blemishes/stains, frosted glass not consistent/smooth- basically impossible to clean.After some communication difficulty, we were able to get at least one laundry door replacement. Had to rent another truck, and we looked through at least 7 doors to find “a good one” that was slightly better, removing the film each time. Not ideal. So we did have to pay all over again for painting & install of new door. I am living with the other two doors, but they are a pain to clean and will never look quite right.So CAUTION: thoroughly inspect each door, and know what you are getting before you drive away as there are NO REFUNDS. And never buy frosted glass if you want the best experience. Other than that, great selection of doors/vanities/tubs/tile/flooring, and pretty friendly staff overall.

Called to see if they have the door I need in stock. The manager tells me they have it and when I asked the price he tells me Ive already told you more than I should have, if I gave you the price Id lose my job. Um, WHAT? How on earth do you conduct business without disclosing price??? I certainly wont be driving 30 miles to get there and be surprised by sticker shock. As a small business owner myself, Id be humiliated to refuse an inquiring customer the price of a product if they asked.It could only mean one thing; their prices are way too high. They wont be getting my business.

I am a faithful customer here. Im a contractor and this is my go to place to buy my materials and hardware. There is a variety of selection and its all affordable. They also do customize orders just incase they dont have your size or measurements. I was greeted and welcomed by Woodney and he assisted me throughout my whole visit. He helped me and my worker load the heavy hardware. Its small things like this that goes a long way. Even though Im a regular, customer service to me is everything.

My mother went to this location to buy windows for a home reparation and although she found all of the windows she needed, one of the windows ended up breaking on their way home. My mother and her friend gave the workers specific instructions on how to load the windows onto the truck (so they wouldn’t break) but they were ignored and one of the windows ended up breaking. They went back immediately and asked to see if they could get it exchanged but they refused. It was a BIG purchase and the hour of transportation was an hour and a half to the location and back from the location. They chose to come here because majority of the reviews are amazing! But unfortunately it wasn’t for them.

Builders surplus has the worst customer service and the manager should be fired! She is wholly incompetent and the staff’s lack of organization is a reflection of her poor leadership. Ordered an item which I was told would be available for pickup in two weeks. Three months later they continue to say it will be delivered in two weeks. No purchase order can be furnished by the store for the supplier and they have no idea when it will be delivered. The store claims that the item is stuck in Savannah but can’t explain the cause or when this will be resolved. This store is not willing to refund my $4000 or exchange for comparable item. I have spent thousands here remodeling my home but I will no longer shop here. Save yourself the trouble and shop somewhere else. There are too many other options in Atlanta to settle for the horrible staff and manager at this store.

RJ at the Atlanta store was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The store is huge, with a good sampling of products for your home, from top to bottom, floors, walls, doors, lighting, cabinets and counter tops at competitive prices.

My husband and I purchased two bathroom vanities, granite tops and faucets on 5/4/20, with the assistance of Akiel. He was very patient, helpful and he didnt leave our sides until we decided which ones to get, and the price was great also! Once we got them home and professionally installed in each bathroom. By the way, we decided to add handles and knobs too to add a little extra flair! I was so happy and pleased with how much better they looked in our home as opposed to on display at the store. I am super happy we decided to go and shop there, and we will definitely return for all of our home improvement needs!!!!!

I purchase an iron doubledoor back in April 2001, for over $5,000 cash purchase; with an understanding it would take 3 to 4 months for delivery. Its now October 5, 2021, and I still havent received my iron doubledoor; the only thing ive received from Builder Plus are a bag of empty promises, a nonchalant attitude from management, and the lies about the fill dates or when it might be in. Im very disappointed and I would never advise anybody to shop here again.

We came up from Fayetteville, to find interior doors that Lowe’s and Home Depot don’t stock, and would take 4-6 weeks to special order. We went straight to the customer service desk, we were greeted immediately, she called for someone to help us, he came to the desk and escorted us to the doors and was very helpful, knew what he was doing!!! That’s the most important thing to me. I hate going to Lowe’s or Home Depot and they just point I. The direction and know absolutely nothing about the items they sell. Not this place! Great customer service!…..just remember all sales are final no returns or exchanges

This place sells doors, windows and trim at slightly reduced prices. The floor staff was as helpful as he could be. He was transparent about his knowledge and did not try pretend he knew more than he did. I respect that. However, whenI asked his supervisor, who stayed in their office, about sth his staff could not answer, I was practically dismissed, The supervisor answered me by barely raising his eyes from his desktop computer and by saying he couldn’t answer my query b/c it depended on which tool one used and refused to engage further. I wasn’t asking for a tutorial, but maybe that is how the manager took my question.So, great floor staff.Some prices might be worth the visit.I purchased trim that was hard to find elsewhere.But I will probably not go backz

The ladies who answer the phone at the front desk are terrible. Continuously keep telling you to call and check back later the leave you on hold and forget about you.I will say Randy for interior doors is phenomenal. It’s unfortunate you can’t get similar service from the ladies at the front desk.

I stopped in the store today to look at tile, came across the American Olsen honeycomb tile for sale for $10.99 per SQUARE FOOT. Ironically, I saw this EXACT same tile at another discount store earlier this week for $1.88 per SQUARE FOOT. Upon further research of the brand and item number the tile was originally sold at Lowe’s for $2.56 per SQUARE FOOT. I asked 3 employees at Builders Surplus to confirm if this was the price per sheet/ sq ft or per box and all said per square foot. Based on my interactions and this pricing builders surplus is far from a discount/ wholesale store. This is a drastic markup from the original price at Lowe’s. I truly hope the employees were wrong and the store is not marking up discount items to that extent.

What a WONDERFUL experience we had yesterday at Builders Surplus. I need to replace a full panel glass door that got broken. So many things to look at... I must have looked like a deer in headlights. Then Kevin came to the rescue! He listened & was patient as I explained what I was looking for. He was the BEST! Seems that this company doesnt care that theres a pandemic going on and refuses to give prices or whether they even have specific merchandise in stock before a 69-year-old person drives 15 mi to their store. Looking for specific size and unfinished cabinets, but was told no information could be given over the phone. not even if they have a specific size in stock. So basically Id say theres no customer service and theyre trying to force you into their stores even if its harmful to your health. Poor customer service or no customer service at all

I found some great deals at the Builders Surplus. We are remodeling our Basement and we found some nice tile and lights. Between Builders Surplus and globalvaluesupply.com, we were able to save a ton of money on our remodel. We will definitely be back!

Muhammad was our guy and was extremely patient and thorough in helping us find both interior and exterior doors that fit our needs and budget. OMG!!!!! Kevin was a life SAVER!!!!! So, I went to Builder Surplus with my contractor... I saw this door and damn near died.... I had to have it! My contractor proceeded to tell me that this door WOULD NOT FIT!!!! He said I had to pick a different door... I was so upset.. I didnt want any other door... My contractor left after deciding on another door.. This is when Kevin told me... The door I want CAN go in.. and if my contractor cannot do it he has a guy who can! I was thrilled.. but also a little reluctant to believe him... ANYWAY.... I bought the door.. a few days later Anthony (Kevins guy) came by and did the install in a couple of hours and it looks INCREDIBLE!!!!!! I COULDNT BE HAPPIER!!!!!!!! Thank you guys!!! :)

Purchase a iron door April 10,2021 and was schedule to have it installed on April 15,2021 and got a call from the store manager on April 13,2021 saying that they made a big mistake by selling us someone else door. My heart was so set on the door that I purchased and unfortunately they didn’t have anymore in stock but they wanted me to settle for another door that we didn’t like and didn’t want to give us a discount or anything for putting us through all of this. We live a hour away and our time is precious.But I will NEVER do business with Builders So Called Surplus. I will go to HCO and purchase my door.

Amazing! We needed to replace our front door immediately because water was getting in. Tried all of the local stores and none of them had anything in stock. Prices ranged from $1,500 to $3,200 with a wait time of 1 to 7 weeks. Our contractor sent us to Builders Surplus. It is a warehouse with a huge selection of building supplies ready to take home the same day. Being a warehouse, I didnt expect any customer service. I couldnt have been more wrong. Howard and Jose were helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. My husband and I had narrowed it down to two doors. Howard came over and explained the differences between the doors, helping us make an informed decision. Unfortunately the door on the floor opened to the left not the right. Howard and Jose went in the back and found exactly what we wanted. We left with a beautiful door for only $950.I highly recommend them. Additionally, they are opening another store in Alpharetta soon!

Weve been looking for french doors for months, but theyve been unavailable at all major stores. We spent 15 minutes at Builder Surplus (Atlanta, Ga) from parking to loading. They had exactly what we needed for less than we anticipated! Quintrel and Kendell helped us and were both awesome. Would definitely recommend.

Selection was better than I thought. Purchased cabinets and picked them up. They were assembled incorrectly (which I paid extra for) and it has been quite the ordeal to get it corrected. Encourage you to double check assembly at pick up.

Today I went to Builders Surplus Atlanta with my Interior Designer Denise. I had never been there before. I was PLEASANTLY surprised when upon walking in the door; EVERYONE spoke and greeted us so warmly. We looked around a bit and then I went to ask for help. Earl HAPPILY and PROFESSIONALLY assisted us in the bathtub area. He was working with multiple customers at the time; but I never felt slighted. Once we made a decision; sweet Katie checked us out AND Earl came up front to be sure we were good; as well as gave me a list of Contractors who could actually do the job for my remodel. I will be back VERY soon to purchase more items from Builders Surplus when I start my kitchen remodel:)It was so refreshing to work with ppl who take pride in their job as post Covid I have that INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT to find!

Great experience and the associates were very helpful

We purchased the French Mahogonay doors and it was not ackowledged the doors glass is frosted (Privacy). There were no signs of information to make the customer aware of this and you dont know until the protective film is removed from both sides of the glass (after I stained and polyurethened the doors). The protective film that is installed on the glass gives the illusion the glass is clear, however once the film is removed the glass is frosted and you cant get it off. These are $700+ doors and Builders Surplus, Atlanta should do the right thng by making customers aware of what they are purchasing. Derrick Johnson a very disatisfied customer.

I purchase a plain glass door in your store on Dec 19, 2020. I was told to give the person who was going to pick up the door my receipt.When I got the door home it was cover in film so I left the film on because it needed to be printed. When I remove the film off I notice it was a pantry door.I Call and spoke with Ms. Katie and explain to her that I was given the wrong door by one of your sale person.she told me that the person who pick up the door pickup the wrong door we went back and fore regarding who was wrong in the incident. I was not asking for a refund I just wanted what I paid for I totally understand the policy if I gave the wrong measurement I would be responsible for that. Ms. Katy was very adamant about you return policy. She was very unprofessional wanted to blame this on the person who pick up the door. I am very dissatisfied with the way she handle my situation.

We went in to browse that place and was taken by the large inventory of merchandise they carry. We were greeted by one of their associate R.J who took up to the door section because we were interested in getting a door. He was very attentive to our needs and was very patient with us because we had no idea what we wanted. We ended up purchasing 2 mahogany 5-glass panel doors and some interior doors. RJ loaded up the doors on our truck. We had a great shopping experience and would definitely go back for future purchases.

First of all their voicemail box is full. Not a great sign Message says leave a detailed message and then it says that mailbox is full... I bought a double vanity top 22x73, ended up having back surgery 2 days after I picked up and exactly a month later finally able to move around and hired a couple guys to lift it to set it in the cabinet.... it’s 22x61! The backsplash says on the receipt(be sure to favor in another $125 for your two backsplash pieces as those aren’t included!) 61x4 so I assume someone was confused and ended up misreading their own receipt...the vanity says right on the receipt 22x73. So now I’ve got to get the correct one to me somehow and get this one back. I assume the owner will deliver me the correct one and retrieve this one given the large nature of this blunder. I’ll report what happens when I can talk to them tomorrow. If I’m the owner it’s a no brainer... I’m feeling really awful that we didn’t bother to check the item we loaded into a customers vehicle and I’m delivering the correct size immediately and refunding the cost of the back splashes for the inconvenience and cost of handy men he had to pay.I assume this owner will make a similar decree. I will let you know If they do I’d change to 5 stars as I understand thing’s Happen and it’s all about how you handle your mistakes

I recently went to this store to try to find a replacement window for an exterior door. I did not have high hopes that I would find one but Chester made it happen. He knew exactly where the windows was, carried it in for me and waited at the cashier stand and then loaded the item for me. Very, very polite and helpful young man. Ask for Chester!
