Other then my love for bikes from ItalyI stepped in to this shop with 0 expectationAs soon as I stepped in I already knew I found the right place for me and my bikeOutstanding customer service and patient!Very knowledgeable on the models and features thru the years.I cant explain more so you will need to go yourselfAll i can say is Im happy i got to support this business and i hope you guys will do the same and go visit these guysThank you ππΌ
Terrible customer service. Took our brand new bike here for the 600 mile service. When it was picked up, it was covered in dirt and debris, and the decal was half scraped off. We called and advised of the decal issue, but no one ever responded. We bought a new decal online, and asked them to refund us the cost ($17). We were then advised they would not refund us, as they had purchased their own decal (although they had never called back or let us know). They advised they would refund what it cost them to purchase the decal ($4). The service manager got extremely abrasive and rude. Will not be returning.
My wife and I wanted to see the new Moto Guzzi V7 850 Special. We did a quick search and saw that La Moto had a couple in stock. We drove over on a Saturday to look at them and discovered that the dealership was working by appointments only. Our mistake for not checking their website first. We thought that we had just wasted our time, but Stuart was gracious enough to spend some time with us. He walked us around and took us to the storage area down the street to take a look. We got a tour of the showroom and the service area as well. He even took the time to work up the price for us and told me about the veterans discount program that Moto Guzzi has. This is outstanding customer service! When we are ready to purchase the bike in the next few weeks, this is where I will buy it from. Absolutely wonderful people there. I recommend that you give them a try, but please be sure to check their website first to see if you need to make an appointment.
Service was friendly but I left really disappointed in how much I was charged for my 600 mile service on my Aprilia. For an oil change and inspection of bolts and lubricating cables, I was charged $486.90. As someone who typically works on my own cars and bikes but just havent had much time lately, I was willing to spend a couple hundred bucks or so just to have someone else take care of this first service for me, even at the higher dealership rates. I was quoted about $250-300 or so over the phone, which even though is high for the actual work required, I thought was fine. Unfortunately, I was shocked when I went to pick up the bike and the total was almost $500. In addition to shop supplies such as oil, crush washer, and filter, I was charged 2.75 hours of labor at $138.50 an hour for what is essentially an oil change and an inspection. I dont buy an Italian sports bike to worry about a few extra bucks here and there, but $500 is unreasonable in my opinion.
Took my bike here for service. They refused at first to stamp my book because I had changed the filter, which was notated in the book. I had to argue with the shop. After alot of back-and-forth, they stamped in the wrong spot and wrote all over it. Not worth the time.
Truely appreciated how knowledgeable they were, id highly recommend them to all my friends with bikes/scooters
Agree with other poster. Paying almost $500 to have a scooter serviced is WAY too much. Im looking for somewhere else to take my scooter.
Love this place . Love my Vespa. Colleen was wonderful to work with . Great customer service . If your interested in a nice ride go grab one of these .Kim
Without doubt these people are deserving of the poor reviews that they have. Beyond rude and simply weird. Went to look at a new bike and was made to feel as if I were trying to steal it. Horrible experience
My bike has broken down at least five times and every single time lamoto has it it takes at least a month for it to get fixed this recent time la Moto have had my bike for 44 days and it still not fixedI also find it weird that the owner replied to my comment one week ago and signed Jamie when Jamie hasnt worked there for awhile now. Kind of weird huh?la moto keeps your bike outdoors while working on it btw.
Called ahead of time about an RS 660 they showed in stocked, confirmed an appointment with Colleen to come take a look at it later that week. Bike was on the floor and they let me sit on it and check it out. Decided to purchase the bike, but was initially informed it may not be ready until the following business day as PID and inspection might take a while as their inspection center was backed up. Expressed some disappointment and that I was really hoping to take delivery that day, despite admittedly not clearly indicating in my prior correspondence that I intended to buy. Colleen, Stu, and Mohammed did everything they could to include coordinating with a different inspection location to make sure I could have the bike that day. Overall, great experience, would go back to make my next Aprilia purchase.Edit: Had to take it in this past weekend for service for MI light. Made sure to call ahead and set an appointment. Also asked they install the MIA module while they were servicing it. In and out in an hour.
The sales person here is terrible. I went to shop for a Vespa. The first thing she asked is if I had financing. I said I was paying cash. She said, βletβs cut to the chase, they cost 5,500β, as if she didnβt believe I could pay for one. I asked to look at their inventory and she said they only show to people who know they will purchase in the next 30 days, was I sure I wanted one? Why else would I show up at a Vespa dealer in December unless I was shopping for a Vespa? She actually asked me to come back later instead of showing me the bikes. When shopping for a motor vehicle, itβs about building a relationship with the dealership who will take care of you while you own the vehicle. This place will not do that. It was a terrible experience. They should hire a real salesperson.
Horrible place... Very poorly trained mechanics, way overpriced, avoid at all costs.
Horrid reception...steer clear of this dealer. As I walked into the business a few days before Christmas, I was greeted with a, βwhat do you want?β I responded that I would like to look at some Moto Guzzis. His response, βfirst of all, we donβt even open until 11:00.β The current time was 10:57. I politely informed him his phone tree said they were open 10:00am to 7:00pm, and he might want to update it. I then asked if this was a good time to browse their Moto Guzzi inventory, and if not, when is a better time to look? His response, a terse, βweβll be open for browsers when Covid-19 is over.β His coworker then spoke up to say their Moto Guzzis were stored at another location, and currently they donβt accommodate browsers. She then said, for now, we cater solely to those who are purchasing in the next 30 days. Even though I was the only customer in the dealership, and theyre were two of them, I thanked them and walked away. Now, she had no idea whether or not I was a serious buyer, or that I had cash reserves to buy one that day. It was also very obvious she was not empathetic to those who might want to actually look at a motorcycle before making a purchase decision.I respect that this is their place of business, and that they have a right to serve anyone they want, when they want. Fortunately, there are several other Guzzi dealers within a couple hoursβ drive, and plenty of their competitors like Triumph, BMW, and Ducati nearby. I will gladly take my business elsewhere. If I do buy a Moto Guzzi, which I am very seriously considering, I wonβt have it serviced here, even though their shop is only15 minutes away. One skill Iβve acquired in 30 years of military service is the ability to quickly size up an organization...my experience and instincts tell me this is not a dealer I would trust. If they have zero regard for a potential customer, it makes me doubt they care about existing customers either. They can stick to their grumpy selves, and when theyve ran all of their customers away, maybe a nicer, more customer-focused dealer will pick up the brand.
Trash service... lady at the front was very rude. Never will I step foot in there again. Yβall lost a customer.
Really great service, extremely friendly and professional. Also very knowledgeable.
I purchased my Vespa at La Moto but had not been back for a year. Now that my 6,200 mile service was due I thought I would give them a try. They have had the bike for 10-days and the service is still not done. There have been several delays due to parts not arriving, etc. however I commutation from La Moto has been virtually non-existent. I have had to call to check on the status and each time there is some other delay. I hope the quality of the repair is better than the quality of the customer service.
My husband recently bought a scooter at La Moto. The staff was very friendly and answered our questions. We found them to be very knowledgeable with a nice showroom. We didnt feel pressured at all. They left us alone and checked in with us to see if we had questions. They have a small staff and the couple in front of us also decided to buy a scooter. Great for La Moto, but not so great for us as theres a lot of paperwork involved so we ended up with a lot of down time after we finally made the decision to purchase. The staff is also very personable, remembering both me and my husband by name when weve gone back in.I will second the statement someone else made about phone calls. We had to call to find out if the bike was ready for pick up and if a part had come in that needed to be replaced. But, I think its because they are very busy. Maybe they could hire someone just to return phone calls as most callers dont need to speak directly with the sales or repair staff, just need a quick question answered. Even so, wed buy another scooter or accessories from them or return for additional repairs without a second thought.
Unbelievable dishonest business. I got an appointment last Saturday to change my tires on Thursday. I was personally there on Saturday, It was not just a simple phone-call. So, not a possible misunderstanding. The individual that gave me the appointment (Alistair, from UK) got my full name, my phone number, etc. He typed all the data on the computer. I saw it with my own eyes. When I showed up today with the bike they said that I had no appointment, that they do not have my data registered, etc... They apologize. The boss is a lady that is not able to react and to provide an honest answer to a customer after their own mistake. They could have just changed the tires in less than half an hour.Believe me she is not able to control her own employees, this is not a reliable business and their behavior is simply dishonest with their customers. My advice is very simple: do not buy anything there nor take your bike for maintenance. You can be badly surprised.
(cross-posted from yelp). My recent experience with La Moto Washington, where I purchased a Vespa, was excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient. I happened to pick up my scooter when both owners were there and they were very warm and helpful. The sales manager was particularly attentive and spent a good deal of time walking through all the features of the scooter. As far as price is concerned I believe they negotiated in good faith and I think we came to a fair deal.If a bunch of staff left or were let go it seems understandable the business might have problems maintaining good service for a time. The question is whether they can recover and perhaps be even better off in the long run - I guess well see.I can tell you I did not experience any issues working with them and left with a very favorable impression of La Moto. It seems theyre getting past their recent staffing upheaval.
After one finally finds this storefront, youll be greeted by a very nice and knowledgeable staff with a decent selection of Moto Guzzi motorcycles. (They also had lots of scooters!)They had the motorcycle Ive been looking for but the setup for test riding is geared more toward the scooter (city and side street riding) so I didnt get to test ride as I wanted (my choice! I dont city drive a lot) but Id definitely recommend hitting them up for a scooter in the future.
Just picked up my 2016 RSV4 RR from La Moto! Made the trip from Richmond, VA. Great experience, Karim Salhi was awesome. He made the process pleasant and smooth. He even went out of his way to load the bike in the trailer for me.Everyone here is extremely nice and will go out of there way to help you. The RSV4 is amazing!! Thanks again!!
I love la Moto but at the same time I have to be coherent with the service I received. I bought a Bike in December with them; so far they have spent more than 60 days in registering the bike and sending the title to me. The temporary tag expired more than a month ago, so I have not been able to enjoy my ride.
I agree with Hunter from an earlier review. I think the same woman βtriedβ to help me. I went in wanting to take a look at the new Carbon V7 and the V7 Racers. Walked around for about 15 minutes without anyone saying hi or helping me. I finally asked a woman sitting at a desk for help. She talked to me for about 5 minutes and then walked away when she saw a customer who was picking up his bike. She didnβt even say sorry or offered to get another salesperson. She just walked away! Kind of rude and unprofessional in my opinion. Will never go back here because of this experience.
As far as scooter shops go in the area these guys and modern classics are the two go to spots.
Ive been a customer here multiple times....Karim, Stephanie, Dan, Kyle and the rest of the gang are true professionals, sincere and customer oriented. If youre in the market for a new or used Italian motorcycle or scooter, I would recommend you put them at the top of your list!
Very nice store with an amazing inventory but I think the service might need some work. I called about a V7 Rough they had in stock and about buying it with accessories. I was told to come to the shop and talk, so I did and looked at the bike as well. The guy at the counter took down all the add ons I was interested in getting and was supposed to call me back with a quote. I never got that call and I ended up going with a Ducati Scrambler from another local dealer.
I probably could give this a 1 star, but Ill give it the benefit of being a decent looking shop. However, thats where it ends.Ive been there two times, since I moved here a few months ago and in both cases I have never gotten a welcome or really any interaction from anyone there.I actually had questions this past time I went because Ive been considering upgrading to a new V7. Asked for prices and specs, and the sales woman who I asked went to get them. Great. However, apparently another customer who she knew walked in, and instead of continuing to help me, she completely dismissed me, not saying another word, and only helped him. After almost 15min of waiting and pacing around the small shop to see if shed re-acknowledge me, I finally just left in anger.Just poor customer service. Its the only Moto Guzzi dealer around, and thats unfortunate since thats what I currently have. I believe that it will probably be best to travel somewhere else that actually cares for its customers.
Ok, it looks like the new guys are working hard to turn the shop around.I had a pretty unpleasant experience with them in the end of 18, and (at least part of) service department changed since. The new folks took care of fixing and putting right everything that was previously done wrong, and went out of their way to make it easy for me.Still not smoothest communications, but eventually everything worked out great. Would be a 4-star experience if it didnt start the way it did... but the trajectory is definitely in the right direction.Would recommend.
Fair, knowledgable and honest service department. Ive not bought a scooter from them, but wouldnt hesitate to. The staff know their product and are happy to engage and give honest opinions even when youre just window shopping.
Horrible service.. way overpriced.. very poorly trained mechanics.. wait time is insanely long. Avoid this place
Great dealership! I recently purchased a Vespa from La Motor and had a first class experience. Colleen was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. She worked hard to get paperwork finished and accessories ordered. I would definitely recommend for anyone interested in any Piaggio products.
These guys are great. not always easy to get a vespa to them if you dont live close, but they are really helpful and have been working on my two vespas for several years.
Just bought my new Griso from La Moto and couldnt be happier with the service I received from the sales staff. They have gone above and beyond to get me the best deal possible and put me on the road. If ever you are interested in a new Moto Guzzi, just go there and ask for Colleen, she will get you the deal you want and go the extra mile to see it through! Thanks a million!!
Excellent! I purchased a new Vespa, the staff work with me very closely, no rushing, but mostly, no pressure. The whole process took less than three hours to close the deal.I am one happy puppy! ππ
I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to since I had such outstanding customer service. My salesperson, Cali, was very attentive, knowledgeable, and willing to answer any questions I had.Originally, I was thinking of either a 50cc or 150cc. He took his time to go through each one with me and make sure I understood. I never felt rushed or spoken down to.Ultimately, I have a friend that ended up giving me her Vespa because shes afraid of riding it. I called Cali with some more questions on the scooter she was going to give me. He went above and beyond to ask about a part I might need and any repairs I may need in the future (he works in sales and not in servicing but got my number and called me within the hour with a response). Please, anyone who is thinking of getting a Vespa or similar scooter, come to this location and ask for Cali. He wont disappoint.
Never again. Shameful service. 0/5 stars. DROPPED AND DAMAGED my motorcycle!!!Ive been buying, riding and having motorcycles serviced in the DC area for 15 years. Never have I seen such a poorly run organization.I needed to have an initial service done on my Moto Guzzi. The only person who seems to answer the phone is the friendly woman in accounting. Finally made an appointment after calling three times and leaving messages, both with humans and on machines. Needed to have the valves checked as part of the service, so Gary, the service manager, wanted to make sure the bike was cold before working on it. I also told them that I didnt need them to change the oil, as I had done that myself. I was told that the bike service would be completed the same day. That was important to me, as I use my motorcycle to commute to work. I told him fine, Id drop it before they opened, by 8 a.m., and asked if they have a key drop. He said to throw the key behind the fence in their back.Tuesday May 21 at 7:30 a.m: I dropped the bike as requested. At 10:30 a.m. I called to make sure they found the bike in their parking lot and its key. They acknowledged receipt. I heard nothing else from them that day.May 22: Gary called to get my street address and to verify the work being done, which I had included in the envelope I gave them with the key. He told me he thought the work would be done that day.May 24: I called and talked to Katie in accounting. She told me that it didnt look like the bike was done, as there was only $24 invoiced on it in their computer system. She said Gary was gone for the day and would be out the following week on vacation. Said to call for Stewart on Tuesday, as Monday was Memorial day.May 28: Called three times in the morning after they opened and got voicemail every time. Called again in the afternoon and Katie gave Stewart a message to call me back. He called me back an hour later, and I proceeded to discuss the concept of an appointment with him. He tried to blame Gary for everything, taking no responsibility for anything, a true sign of an incompetent manager. He told me that they still hadnt worked on the bike. He told me that there were two bikes in front of mine before it would be serviced, but hed see what he could do. Thirty minutes later Stewart told me that they were working on the bike.May 29, 6:06 p.m.: Stewart called me to tell me that they finished working on the bike, but THAT THEY HAD DROPPED IT AND DAMAGED SEVERAL PARTS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BIKE!!!! Footpegs, rear turn signal, rear brake lever, and swingarm. Said they were working with parts to order the parts.June 4: Picked up the bike. When I arrived there were three men gathered around the counter in parts/service, clearly talking about nothing important. I stood there behind them for a minute, waiting for them to finish. Turns out that it was Stewart, Gary, and the mechanic who dropped my bike. Their pace was indicative of my experience with this place. Despite being told my bike was ready, I then had to wait for Gary to separate the bill, as they had lumped my service costs in with the parts they had to order to fix it from dropping it.Damaged parts were replaced and/or shipped to me, minus the swingarm, which was probably ignored because it would cost them too much money to replace. I was billed for 3 hours of labor on what is supposed to be a 140 minute labor time for the initial service, including the oil change they didnt do. I figured the extra hour (@ $140/hr) was probably to recoup some of their costs for ordering parts.Bottom line, find someone else in the area who will work on your bike. They are the only Guzzi dealer around, but Cycles of Silver Spring told me they can do the routine services for me.
Heaven help you if you have a Piaggio or Vespa and want service. The service telephone always gets picked up by the answering service and their message box is always full. When I emailed them for a service appointment, they emailed back a form that I had to fill out and email back to them completed. Then they were supposedly going to set up a service appointment (in about two weeks). I went through this process twice and still never got a call, email, or text message back. I like Piaggio/VESPA scooters, but their service departments are terrible.
Aprilia motorcycles are great machines! And thatβs about the only good thing about this place. Staff use to be super nice, but now all the store is after your money. The sales staff knows very little about their bikes and surely did not do their homework on competitor brands (i.e. what distinguishes Aprilia from say Ducati). As soon as I walked in, I was taken over to a computer and they were trying to figure out financing for a bike I didnβt express interest in. At other dealerships, I at least get to see a bike and ask questions (and perhaps even demo it) before being inclined to buy.Walking in, I knew roughly how much the motorcycles cost. The sales person was super dishonest and told me a price much higher than was advertised on their own website.Bottom line: Good products, horrible dealership.
Great sales and super service. Got my bike back quickly.
I was lied to my both the salesperson and owner. I was sold a bike that could never have passed inspections, meaning my life was put in danger or valued as nothing. It immediately failed maryland inspection for the same three issues that I brought to the attention of the salesperson and was ignored. The breaks, the clutch slipping and mirrors falling off. I will see you in court
Nice place and great customer Service. I usually read reviews before visiting any establishment, especially if it has to do with vehicle maintenance and this time was no different. After reading all the reviews I realized that the bad reviews (one stars) seemed unjustified. Anyhow, my experience here was fantastic from the moment I called to bring my Caponord Rally until I left. They were very accommodating and kept me informed at all times. I called as soon as they opened for a suspension error on the bikeβs ADD system, which aroused after I left the ignition on and completely discharged the battery, and was asked over the phone if I could drop the bike because they were busy. I expected this, as the days are getting warmer and people are waking up from their motorcycling hibernation. Once I got there I was told that they had an opening for a quick scan, so I went out with the wife (my ride home) for a quick lunch and came back to see the results. By then the motorcycle technician had the bike on the stand hooked up to βlife supportβ and all kinds of gizmos, which made the bike look like the bride of Frankenstein. Things were beeping, lights were flashing and he explained what was being done and that it was going to take about another hour.At this point my ride home had left, and they were kind enough to store my riding gear in their break room while I waited. Sure enough, about an hour later the service guy came back, handed me my keys, told me that everything was fixed and tested, and that there was no chargeβ¦ While I acknowledge that the bike had only 8 months since purchased and still under warranty, I suspected that this would be a maintenance issue and I was going to have to pay for at least one hour of labor (like the Ducati dealer charged me just to check for ECU updates).Space is at a premium in this area and they donβt seem to have enough indoor storage for bikes being worked on, so thats something to consider and plan accordingly if your repairs take longer than a day or if parts are being ordered. Other than thatβ¦ Fantastic!
Went there for a quote and Ms. Colleen helped me. She was very accommodating and not pushy at all.
Cool shop for all your Vespa and Moto Guzzi needs. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I was able to find what I needed. I went for a helmet, and they were able to help me find one that fit and that looked good.
Slow service. 3 people working in parts and it took all 3 to assist another gentleman. After waiting for 30 minutes, I am finally allowed to ask if they have a battery for my bike, and the employee told me they couldnt look up the part number. So they insisted the I find the part number myself instead. Forget that, ill just buy one at Walmart and save some money AND time. This shouldnt have been this bad. Waste of time.
Staff is very friendly, I personally talked to Colleen. They could use more help, in my opinion. Specially on a Saturday.
I service my bike here and recently traded in one. Very nice people and Stephanie is a great manager taking care of the customers. Glad to see a full service Aprilia and Guzzi dealer in the DMV area. Will do business again!
Stopped in to La Moto on a hunch to kill some time. After passing by a few times I realized that they had a much larger and diverse inventory than just the scooters I saw from the windows, including a great assortment of Aprilia and Moto Guzzi motorcycles, which are much rarer brands and it was great to get to check out some of the bikes up close. The sales staff was immediately attentive to my ogling and was happy to let me test out one of the demos, which really made my day and showed me just how high quality an Aprilia can be.I also had the opportunity to talk with one of the sales staff who was familiar with Motorsport and had a very deep knowledge of the competitive field, as well as of the bikes he sold there in the shop and how they compared to one another and the competition, and as an enthusiast that is always great to see that staff can be passionate and insightful about the products they sell as you are about buying them. All in all I was extremely happy with my visit and look forward to doing business with the team over at La Moto in the future! Thanks again guys!
I just bought a Moto Guzzi Eldorado from La Moto two weeks ago. My salesman, Karim Salhi, was extremely helpful assisting me with this purchase. I had several concerns about the purchase, in particular, the bike was a demo model with some wear and tear on it, and I was from out of state, never having made a purchase like this before. Everything Karim promised me was true, the transaction was completed successfully, with him updating me by email every step of the way. This is one fantastic bike, as powerful as it is beautiful. I had to deduct one star from my rating for cleanliness of the bike. It was washed, but basically needed a good detailing, which I took care of with a couple hours of elbow grease. This really isnt a big deal, as I got a very good price on the bike. The bike now gleams like it deserves to. Aside from that, I definitely recommend La Moto as an excellent dealership. I am completely satisfied with my purchase.
Top notch dealer. knowledgeable, Friendly and great customer service.
Good service when selling, the worst post selling service. If you buy something here you will have to find another place for break in service and parts, they will never take your call.
This entire operation is a clusterf***.I began the process of buying a 2017 Tuono from La Moto in March of 2018. I put down a $1600 deposit on the bike to hold it, but it was sold out from under me to another customer. I was not told. They then agreed to give me a 2018 Tuono for the 2017 price, but I would have to wait for the 2018 model to arrive. So I waited, and it finally arrived at the dealer in early May. After several weeks of back and forth, I sent the dealer a check. They then called me and informed me that Stephanie, their Finance Manager, was no longer with the company and that the deal I had agreed to for the lower price was no longer in place. Fed up with their nonsense, I sent them an extra $500 and told them to have the bike to me that weekend. The bike was delivered and I signed a power of attorney (so the dealer could get my tags sent to me) and the other required forms. Everything to do with the delivery was quick and painless, and their driver was a nice guy. The deal was done so I took a breath and relaxed, grateful that this nightmare was behind me.I spoke to the salesperson who helped me, Luke, on the phone and learned that virtually all of the staff at La Moto were revolting. The shop has (had, I hope) no air conditioning, the management was never around to help advise on sales, etc. The way he put it, everyone there was essentially flying blind nine times out of ten, and it showed. This bit of information really helped me put things together. To make up for what he knew was a horrible experience, Luke threw in a free shirt and a free fender eliminator kit. He is no longer with the company.Fast forward to June 25, 2018, and I receive a call on my cell phone at 7:19p while Im having dinner. Surprise! Its La Moto again! The lady on the phone (I didnt catch her name) is telling me that they forgot to charge me sales tax for my bike. Stunned, I insist that she has the wrong person, because my bike has had a tag on it for over a month. She insists that I owe them some ~$650 because the sales tax wasnt notated on the final paperwork. I told her that I wont be giving them a dime simply because someone didnt fill out paperwork correctly, and that I clearly gave them power of attorney to go pay that tax, and that I CLEARLY have a tag on my bike and that the tax was paid. The only thing missing from this equation to make it extortion was a threat. It blows my mind that, instead of taking a loss on this deal (they very clearly lost money on it, or they wouldnt be calling me trying to collect a double sales tax payment), theyre now risking paying court fees by harassing me.Steer clear of doing business with this company. It is wholly unorganized, unethical, and has virtually zero management. It makes me feel at least a little better knowing that other people have written reviews detailing a similar experience.
Let me tell you a story of the fall of La Moto...I write this not to dump on the dealership but with hopes of informing previous customers and potential customers of the headache I received, and what people will be walking into. Under current management I highly doubt thing will change, since they didnt near the end of me working there.I used to work there. Started June 2017 after a friend took me out for a Demo Day. My first exposure to dealerships and Italian craftmanship.Stephanie, Karim, Kyle, Nico, Dan, Jared, Kyaw and I grew close over the year together.Even though they are a Piaggio dealership, the place honestly felt more like a family than dealership. We rode on the weekends and had lunch together every day.I learned a lot from Karim, he was the top salesman there, in terms of salesmanship and knowledge for Aprilia and Moto Guzzi. Kyle was always helpful when it came to parts questions, and as the new guy I never felt out of place or sounding stupid coming to Nico or Dan with questions. Stephanie was Robin Williams and I was the dead poets society. Oh Captain my captain!!!The dealership went downhill the beginning of May.I wont slander anyone, but under new management (AN and SW) all the employees were fed up.Certified Aprilia Technicians are gone.Sales staff are gone.Management has been filled, but they know nothing of the product. The new business model is to do direct competition with xtreme powersports in accident md.I left because I felt I could no longer my job and lead customer into buying the bikes. I also was due commissions from the prior months sales on the 15th of every month, and under the new management I never received those checks on time. Weeks later in fact.Since my departure on June 1st I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Virginia Department of Labor. I did this due to money owed to me, unethical/immoral practices with management. If you HAVE to take a bike to them, it might get done to your standards. They are the only dealer within a couple hours, so youll have to pick your poison. Hope things change, but I dont think they will. I think they will be shutting their doors soon in fact.
A titling issue was discovered a few months after I bought my Rsv4. Me and another guy had bought similar bikes two days apart. For around 9 months I was told by management they had to get Piaggio group involved to issue new vins for mine and the guys bike who they swapped the vins by accident when tilting the bikes. They told me to not worry and I didnβt. But after that long I did start to worry and pushed the issue. Then I call one day and basically everyone had been fired due to similar issues with other customers. On top of that the new manager knew nothing about my problem. Within an hour and a half the problem had been addressed and they took care of it within a few days. Also the final paperwork was never sent into the Maryland Mva so my title wasnβt even finalized. Ali and Stuart did a great job. Old management basically swept it under the rug along with dozens of other customers problems. I would definitely recommend Lamoto
As good as the Aprilia bikes are, you would expect good customer service from an Aprilia dealership. You would at least expect decent customer service. However, what you get at LaMoto is TERRIBLE customer service. Your average McDonaldβs drive thru experience provides a much higher level of customer service than any interaction youβll have with this dealership. No one at this dealership will state their name when the answer the phone. They will promise to call you back, but they never call back despite their promises. They will make repairing or servicing your bike their lowest priority. A routine repair will take weeks and weeks, and each phone call to check on the bike will leave you angry and frustrated.Whatβs more, I just learned that they have been lying to me since the beginning. I was told multiple times that the bike was on the lift being worked on and was almost ready. I spoke to the manager today and he admitted that they hadnβt even begun work on the bike yet. The next nearest Aprilia dealership is 2.5 hours away from me, and itβs absolutely worth going anywhere else for service in the future. Donβt bother giving them your business; you will be disrespected and taken advantage of.
The saving grace of this shop is their new mechanic KD.
These guys are legit, and man is it nice to have an Aprilia dealer 10 minutes from my house. I own a 2012 Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC that I purchased from an out of state dealer since, at the time, the closest Aprilia dealer was 2 hours away. So far they have done general maintenance including fixing some gearbox issues I had and doing the valve adjustment. So far almost 500 miles since they completed the adjustment and the bike runs better than ever. At first I was apprehensive about them since they were relatively new but their service guys know what they are doing and the sales folks up front are very friendly. Great place!
Disorganized. Not what I would expect for a place that looks so polished and chic but the service level/customer care is totally the opposite (at least on the repair side).
AVOID AT ALL COSTS (literally, ALL COSTS). Had my Vespa towed in over a week ago with a flat tire... 8 days later I am still waiting for that flat tire to be repaired. Last time they repaired a tire it took 2 hours. My tow truck driver warned me that they were having problems and I shouldve listened. Ive received two commitments that the bike would be repaired the next day and both times I have called back someone has indicated that the person that committed to the repair has been fired.Ive bought 3 bikes from this dealership with numerous service appointments but with the departure of Stephanie and others, this place is completely unreliable.I will not be paying for my Vespa to be towed to another shop.
Worst customer service. Once we showed up 30 mins before they close and the door was already locked. The second time we went nobody cared about our presents or even talked to us. Looks like they dont like selling their products
These guys are great, plus theyre really the only Guzzisti in the area! Fast service and knowledgeable staff. Everyone there is super approachable and friendly. Great selection of bikes: Aprilia, Guzzi, Vespa, and the occasional MV Augusta.
WORSE PLACE EVER. ..AWEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT GO THERE!!! My intentions were to buy a motorcycle today but not with someone so rude. It doesnt even deserve one star.
I have been taking my Vespa to La Moto of Washington ever since Vespa of Arlington became La Moto. I know one of the guys that work there and it helped me to decide to go down and work with them. Prior to this, I trailered my Vespa down to Richmond for service (excellent service but too far to go for me).The parts department is run by Kyaw, formerly with Coleman Powersports. Hes been in the business for a long time and really knows scooters, parts and how to get them.I get really good prices on the parts but it takes time to get some of the parts in. Theyve reorganized the parts department and they carry a lot of the most common components and some not so common.I bought a rear brake line, filters, spark plugs and the usually bits and pieces needed to change the oil. The prices were better than Scooterwest (and they have shipping on top of that so even better). My first big challenge this summer was my muffler. It was just rusted out. They happened to have an OEM muffler in stock that fit my scooter, a 2005 Vespa GT200. No one else had one and I had trouble sourcing an aftermarket (like a Leo Vince). I took it in and they put in on right away. It sounded great and the scoot seemed to run better. On my way home, I heard a squeak coming from the back. I rode it around maybe another 100 miles. I checked the service intervals and it seems that I should have already replaced the CVT belt.I took it back to La Moto for this bit of work. It turned out that I did need to replace the CVT belt along with some additional internal components. It no longer squeaks and the transmission is outstanding. It doesnt lag when you take off and it no longer slips.Their service is great, their parts and prices are awesome. My only constructive criticism is that they (La Moto), need to make sure that they return calls. This last trip resulted in a multi-week stay which was fine. But, when I called for an update after the 1st week, the person I asked to speak to never received the message so I had to call back again. I left a 2nd message but I didnt receive a call back until the next day.Today, when I called in to inquire about my scooter, I spoke to someone else. I assume someone in management. When I voiced my issue with this oversight, he told me that it wouldnt happen again and promised to return my call within 5 minutes. He called me in 3 minutes.I definitely recommend giving La Moto a shot. While youre at it, check out their inventory of new and used bikes. Im not in the market now but they have some nice new scoots in stock. They seem to carry Vespa, Aprillia, and Moto Guzi.
Really nice selection of high quality motorcycles.
Terrible customer service. We had constantly call for updates. When we did call they never seemed to have their information straight and know what was going on. They would tell us β weβll call you backβ and never did. Terrible.
Awesome people, very knowledgeable, good selection, quality.
Friendly staff, very slow.
DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! Worst customer service, rude people, and they refuse to fix bikes under warranty.
Love for Vespa
Great service!
Terrible service. When you go to find out about the price of the motorcycles they give you one with some offers, and when you send them an email days later to confirm the purchase they change the offer. They are not sincere at all. Dont buy anything there.
They are racists, they did not want to attend to us
