I would highly suggest anyone to take their vehicle to Auto Stop. I had a lot of work needed done on my 2014 Ford F-150 and was trying to work with a warranty company to take care of part of the job. While the warranty company was not communicated and cooperating with me, Auto Stop did a great job of communicating what was wrong with my truck and how they were going to fix it. In addition, they had clear communication regarding the timeline of my truck being fixed, as well as what parts were needing to be fixed. One (among many) of my favorite things about Auto Stop is the diagnostic that is emailed to the customer at the end of every service, regardless of what was done to the vehicle. My service advisor was Errol, I highly suggest you speak to him for any work needed to be done.

I took my BMW 335i to Auto Stop Arlington and they have the best prices, high levels of professionalism, and stand by their quality work 100%. I was quoted almost double the price for the work I needed done by the self proclaimed “experts” down the street. I am very satisfied with the work they did, my car is running great. I recommend them to everyone, happy that I finally have a good mechanic in the area.

The work was done in a very timely manner ... what they promised is what I got.No issues with the work.Also, they are great in keeping you informed about the status of you work. No waiting. I have been a customer for a few years for various items and am always pleased with the professional and honest service. The office team never tries to sell me on things that arent necessary and always provides factual explanations for when work should be done. Even though I would expect this, it is unfortunate, that experience is not always the case for many auto shops. The work that Auto Stop does I have always experienced it to be done well. I have recommended their services to many friends and they have also been pleased. I typically plan to leave my car for the day so they can get to it as able. Overall very glad to have found an easily accessible shop (a few bus stops in the area)that does good, honest work.

I phoned in to The Auto Stop to inquire about an estimate for a few mechanical repairs on my Mercedes-Benz and spoke with a young woman named Brandy, she was extremely informative and very polite and offered to set me up with a courtesy loaner when I brought it in. I have never written a review for any business before, but the service I received at Auto Stop was the worst I have ever had anywhere. I scheduled an appointment a few days in advance, and had three requests. I needed an oil change, I needed one of my oxygen sensors replaced, and I wanted a rundown and estimate of all the preventative maintenance that should be done to the car.Dropped off my car at 10 and went home to wait for a call. At 4:30 I called for a status update because I would need my car before they closed at 6. They had not touched it. Waited another half hour before I called back to tell them I was coming to get it because I needed to get to work in the morning. All that was done was the oil change.Arrived, got my car and I was just going to just let it go. The next day I discovered that a bag change with about $50 in it had been stolen from the glove box. Again I was just going to let it go, after all, it was partially my fault for leaving it in the car (not really because they shouldnt steal your stuff, but its kind of expected).Today, after buying the 02 sensor myself and doing the repair, which took less than 10 minutes, I went to clear my check engine codes only to find that they had stolen my code reader as well. This is the point where I cannot just let it go. Im too mad.TLDR: They didnt do what was asked, they stole my stuff, and they actively made it harder for me to repair my own car. I cannot possibly discourage people enough from going to Auto Stop Arlington.

Tom (owner) has some of the best customer service Ive ever experienced in the auto industry. I had a bad initial experience with one of his new hires who ineffectively reported the results of my safety inspection, but Tom himself stepped in and made up for the miscommunication. He spent 45 min walking me through each line item of the actual safety inspection report, took a flashlight under the hood of my car to point out the problem areas, and waived the fee of the initial inspection. I appreciate the transparency that their online inspection reporting software provides - they upload photos of all the areas/parts of immediate concern and can provide recommendations for future maintenance.

I have used Auto Stop for years and needed a headlight replaced. They did so very quickly and didnt charge me a thing! I really appreciated their kindness and they do good work! I recommend them, especially if you have an older car like I do:).

Replace rusty gas tank. Super friendly staff. Very professional. Texted and called with a detailed explanations of issues. The manager was clear concise to the point. No b.s. Gave me a time frame that depended on receipt of part. Made sure to tell me that the job can be finished on Saturday too. I would highly recommend auto shop to any one looking for a honest shop.

The guys at AutoStop Arlington are exceptional. My car needed significant work done - no one really likes spending money repairing an older car but i felt genuinely cared for by the entire staff. Tom was quick and descriptive with diagnosing the issue with my vehicle (bad clutch cylinder). However, he let me know it might be covered by warranty, which saved me a bunch of money. I will be taking my vehicle here if it requires non warranty service in the future!

THEY DESERVE HIGHER THAN 5 STARS!!!!This is one of the best shops in the area. I like that they are very transparent, by giving you detailed inspections with pictures of things that they see is wrong with your car that may need to be fixed. Most shops do not do that and could be telling you anything just to make more money off you.My recent experience was replacing my rack and pinion. During this time I was dealing with a horrible warranty service (Alpha Warranty) that the shop and I were working with. The shop was very consistent in their part with communicating with the warranty company and staying on top of things. This shop also let me use a loaner car during the whole ordeal, which just does not happen. No other shops will do this for you. Since the repair was fairly expensive they cut me a discount as well.I highly recommend this shop to anyone who needs repair. They definitely take care and look out for their customers.

I have a Saab and its hard to find places that will service them anymore. I called in an scheduled a diagnostic appointment. Shawn was very clear about what was involved, that they could check out everything and if I used them to perform the repairs the diagnostic fee would be subtracted from the total bill. Shawn called me back after they had some time to look around to explain that they fixed the misfire issue I took the car in for, but my 19 year old car was in pretty bad shape and needed new hoses and other labor-intensive work that would add up to more than the value of my car. Honestly, I wasnt surprised. The itemized prices were about what I expected (and cheaper than a Saab dealership would have charged if they were still around). Shawn continued to explain they could get my car in safe operating condition, but suggested I consider whether I would be better off putting that money towards a newer car. I greatly appreciated the perspective and happily payed the diagnostic fee when I picked up my car. I was not charged extra for the small repair that fixed the engine misfire, I presume because the charge would have been less than the diagnostic fee. I know my car is safe to drive, but on borrowed time, before anything else brakes.When I find my next car, Im definitely coming back to Auto Stop for a pre-purchase inspection. I know these guys are thorough and honest.

Great service. Open and honest. Didn’t try to upsell me on services, and when I asked about a certain thing that they recommended they said to wait until I get the brakes done to save on labor costs.

Their report was solid, thorough and transparent. With detailed photos of everything and everyone performing the tests. Very good explanations of what was found, what needed to be done and how “urgent” or not each thing needed attention. Repair was on point and quick turnaround. Kind of pricey, though, but I guess that comes with the level of attention and work they did.

Great service they replace me entire exhaust system for a great low price for installation. And suggested a great one for my big boy!

I continually bring my car here because the customer service is so wonderful. Everyone there is beyond kind and genuine that it makes whatever is needing to be done to my car, worth it. I live a mile away so that’s also a great perk to walk home after dropping it off.

I have seen them for changing tires out on my car and for the routine maintenance on my minivan. These guys do great work. On my tires, they were very honest about the best path forward which made the most economical sense to me. They could have easily upsold me somethingbut they didnt. They sent me a report on the work they did on my van. Ive never seen anything like it. They took pictures of everything they inspected. I used to rotate my own tires which was when I got to inspect my rotors and brake pads. These guys took close up pics of both so I could see for myself on the report. This exceeds any expectations most people would have of their mechanics but its exactly what I want. Youll never get the sense that these are trying to rip you off. They are timely, professional, friendly and really reasonable in terms of rates. They will be my familys lifelong mechanic team as long as Im in the NOVA region.

In short, they wanted to charge me >$1500 for a $900-$1100 repair. They probably dont deserve 1-star, but I chose them because they were so highly rated and I dont want others to make the same mistake. Details are below:I went in because I was losing oil (and my usual mechanic is near work, but its covid). They told me that I needed to have my gaskets/valve cover replaced (its a 10 year old car in mediocre shape) and they wanted to charge me >$1500. I got a quote from my usual mechanic of $900. So I took it there. A coolant pipe broke during the repair so the total bill (w/ tax etc) came to $1100. Im sure Auto Stop does fine work...but they wanted ~50% more.

Ive taken my cars here for over 10 years and have always been impressed at the convenience, timing, price, and professionalism. An example: when my last car started needing an increased number of repairs, they gave it a thorough inspection, taking pictures so I could see for myself and explaining what else would likely need to be done in the coming months. When I told them Id probably be getting another car within the next 2 years, they actually refused to do the minor repair, suggesting I put that money towards my next car. I did so, and just took that car in for the first time.

I brought my car here and couldnt be happier. I got quality work quickly from courteous people. Most importantly, the shop DIDNT lie and try to sell me a bunch of stuff I dont need (cant say that about Mr. Tire down the street). These are my new go-to mechanics.

I visited auto stop for an oil change and had an awesome experience. They go the extra mile with customer service, provide customers with a detailed handout (with pictures) from their vehicle inspection so you can see what may or may not need attention, and they won’t pressure you into getting any work done that isn’t urgently needed. This is my second time visiting Auto Stop Arlington and Richard, the general manager has been so courteous and professional both times. First time was about a year ago when I suspected an exhaust leak in my 2009 BMW M3. Richard took my car in, put it up on the lift and inspected the exhaust with myself and one of the mechanics. We concluded that exhaust has no issues/leaks and Richard didnt charge me dime for the time he spent investigating!Then today, remembering this great experience with Auto Stop, I took my car in again to have a loose exhaust bolt replaced/tightened. The bolt was rusted and prevented me from using handheld tools to tighten. So I called Auto Stop and they were able to take me in the same day. Again, everyone at the front desk were so kind and my car was on the lift within minutes of arriving. Richard noticed that rust is preventing the bolt from tightening all the way in, so he asked the mechanic to clean the rust off the bolt and tighten. This took about 30 minutes, 45 minutes since the car has been on the lift. Its common for shops to charge by hours and this job certainly would have been an hour labor. However, again, Richard said this was such a simple job and that he would not charge me!!My experiences at Auto Shop, especially with Richard, other service advisers and the mechanics have been fantastic. I work on my car myself for minor things but whenever I need professional help, I am, without a single hesitation, calling Richard at Auto Stop.

I greatly appreciated their attention to detail, thorough documentation of areas recommended for repair/replacement and the time they took to explain my inspection results to me. I never felt pressured to make a decision and was encouraged to ask as many clarifying questions as I needed. Highly recommend.

Been taking my car here for the last two years. So far good experiences and consistently honest about what needs to be done.Took my car to the dealership for a recall and got some scare tactics report about how my car was going to fail inspection (they were half right), I had recently had my car w/ Auto Stop and they didnt mention the brakes being close to requiring a replacement, I called, dropped it back off and they apologized for missing it and completed the repairs without charging for the labor.I appreciate the willingness to own the mistake and the good faith gesture on the cost of the labor.I imagine if you bargain shop they may not be the cheapest (this is just anecdotal from someone who called around about repairs and found them to be more than another shop she found) but Im happy to pay a competitive rate for an honest shop. Auto Stop has told me when things Ive asked for were unnecessary, and put tires on that I ordered direct when they couldnt find a similar deal. In the longer term Im happy to deal with a business that wont attempt to take advantage of the fact that Im not interested in being a mechanic part time just to make sure Im not getting hustled.

Friendly staff and thorough eval. I took my Mazda in for an oil change and 2 other fixes. I called ahead to make sure they could do those two fixes (tire pressure light always on and key to door not working) and they said no problem, they can fix anything. Took it in and turns out they could only do the oil change. I specifically took it here and not jiffy lube to fix those issues so honestly probably wont be using them again. But its not a huge deal, sometimes when you determine the cause of a problem it turns out you cant really do anything but this seemed more like they were trying to just get me in the door knowing they couldnt fix anything but wanted the sale for the oil change. 🤷‍♂️

I found out about this place from a friend and I’m so glad I did! I took my truck in because I had picked up what appeared to be a big nail in my tire. I dropped it off and they said they would give me a call back after they had a look at it. A few hours later they called and said the nail was removed and there was no damage to the tire. Shortly afterwards I received a text with information from a full checkup concerning my vehicle with recommendations with photos of the technician and advisor who did the work.When I got to the shop I asked “how much” and they replied “no charge since we just removed the nail.” They did a lot more than that. Not only did they remove the nail and the checkup, but they washed my truck as well! I will certainly be taking my business to them from now on. Great service and super friendly!

Each time Ive had my car serviced the team was clear on the work being done, communicated if an issue came up, and were easy to talk to.The inspection link you receive via text/email is definitely a highlight. Before moving to the area Ive used Midas, Virginia Tire & Auto, and Jiffy Lube yet none of them had this! Its great because not everyone is familiar with cars so the inspection shows you what theyve found, provide explanations for each item, and make recommendations (things that may need work soon, immediate needs, and etc).My first visits were before the pandemic but on my last visit they offered drop off options and sanitize the vehicle before I get in.

I worked with James & Richard to receive an emissions inspection and oil change, but they performed a courtesy check for additional issues if needed. They provided honest and realistic Now and Future repairs as needed and they surely dont recommend anything you dont NEED. They follow up with an itemized email and go above and beyond in their service, even after the fact. These guys are the best there is, and Id recommend them to anyone that needs their vehicle taken care of on a professional level.Keep up the great work!(The goodie bags never get old, either.)

As a woman, I have been taken advantage of several times at auto shops. You go in for an oil change, and check out with over $300 worth of services. Auto stop was fantastic, taking care of ONLY the service I requested, while still performing preventative screening. They offered suggestions and good ideas for future service, but created no pressure to do so that day. Id highly recommend this business.

Pretty great, as far as independent mechanics go. Theyre able to send you detailed invoices, with pictures, before performing work. Even with a laundry list of items to work on, theyre able to get everything done same-day. They stand behind their work, too - they installed a sensor that ended up being defective, and ate the cost to diagnose and replace it. And they dont seem to really push work thats not mechanically necessary - for instance, if your brake pads still have sufficient life on them, they wont push to replace them. If work is necessary, theyre not afraid to actually explain why.The only bummer is the location, but they can call a Lyft for you to get you back to the Metro - at their cost.

I was having a lot of trouble with my Subaru and a mysterious issue, but they were able to solve it and where so patient! Im grateful for their service. Strong focus on customer service here. The mechanics go out of their way to be polite and explain exactly whats going on and what theyve found. Theyve even got the car equivalent of the Dominos pizza tracker so you know where you are in the process. Bit hard to see from the street; look for the giant number over the garage, not the name.

Some of the best customer service, great people, great work! Had some off-road tires mounted/balanced, was no trouble at all. Will come back for sure!

His honesty and professionalism was so genuine that I literally had my car towed from a local dealership to Auto Stop in Arlington within 24 hours. Richard took the time to clearly explain the technical issues my car was having and made it easy for me make an informed decision. THIS is what I want from my mechanic. He turned a stressful situation into a pleasant experience and has earned a customer for life. Highly recommend.

My Prius C shut down twice during the same week and and I had to get AAA to jump start it both times. AAA said I needed a new battery (its been 7 years). Found Auto Stop on Yelp and they accommodated me same day. When they checked the battery in my car, they said it was fine and didnt need to be replaced. They charged it up and off I went. They were right--my car has been driving smoothly with no battery hiccups. The great thing is, they were honest about it and didnt try to push a sale when I didnt need it at all. They didnt charge me anything. I will be coming here for all my auto care needs in the future.

I had an absolute superb experience with Auto Stop. I worked with the manager, Richard, I believe and his commmunication skills were as good as I have seen anywhere. I had an experience at another local shop and was told I needed a new alternator which would cost over $1,100. When I spoke to Richard they quoted me significantly less ($750), allowed me to borrow some jumper cables to get my vehicle there, did a quick diagnostic to conclude my alternator wasn’t even bad it was my battery and had me return to the other dealership as the battery was under warranty and charged me nothing for the diagnostic. This is the type of service that doesn’t lend any return today but is the right thing to do and encourages people to keep coming back. Highly recommend and I will now be taking all my vehicles there for service.

The difference in customer service between this shop and nearly every dealership Ive dealt with is night and day. They even have ordered a free Lyft ride to get me back home in the event I needed to drop off my vehicle. Every time I have picked up my car after service they hand out a free candy gift bag which adds to their endearing quality. I feel lucky to have them nearby!

Very nice staff. They do a very thorough inspection of the car and I didnt feel pressured to do services that I didnt want to do now. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for, meaning I think the service performed was done very well.

Never lived in the DMV area and this was the first and only spot I go to for my car.You can create your appointment online to drop off your car (obviously).Then they send you an email of which technician is working on your car and who the person managing all the numbers is. I actually really appreciate that.Then in their email it break down what they recommend to get fixed and pictures to actually show you proof of what part needs to be fixed or replaced.Never had a place like this! I’ll stick with them for a while.(:

I scheduled an appointment to have my front wheels re-aligned as the car was veering to the right. I was met with professional, courteous technicians. They checked it out and said, Your alignment is fine. We are not going to do and charge you for something you dont need! I asked what caused the pull to the right? He said there was a ridge on the tire that is doing it; but no need to buy new tires yet either. So, they addressed my concerns and didnt sell me anything I didnt need! Hows that for quality service! I’ve been meaning to write a review for Auto Stop for MONTHS! But now that I’m waiting on my oil change, I thought “now would be the time”!The first time I visited was because I had an emergency repair that needed immediate attention - my tire was flat! I’m new to the area so I didn’t have an established auto shop but the reviews alone were the reason I decided to give my business to Auto Stop. I didn’t have an appointment and (me being me) I was the first person who pulled up - on a Saturday mind you - in hopes of getting a quick patch before any of their appointments showed up. Turns out I needed a little more than just a patch and it was going to take longer than expected to complete.Not only did they fit me into their busy schedule, one of their drivers - THEY HAVE DRIVERS - take me home (roughly 10 minutes away) and pick me back up when my car was finished. Their service is phenomenal!So today was my second time not making an appointment... and here I am getting an oil change! They, yet again, fit me into their schedule.All of the employees are amazing! I believe Marco is the voice and face of Auto Stop and after him telling me the history, morals, and values of the company... this is my go-to shop!Definitely give this place your business! They earn and deserve it!!

Ive been going to the fellas at Auto Stop for quite a while now. They always have your best interests at heart and will help you look for the most affordable part or give you the best advice that they can. They are not pushy with anything at all, they will recommend whats best but it is up for you as a car owner to make the decisions about your vehicle. Very friendly and respectable staff. They gained a customer for life with me.

I was there and after I got my service, I asked for changing wiper which I brought with me, they charged me for 5 dollar for one of them as they didnt know how to replace it with new one. The person who is running the office said I have to pay for it although they didnt know how to fix it, so I paid for fail attempt.

Took my car here after another well known national chain jacked up what should have been a simple tire replacement. Auto Stop fixed the other companys mistake, charged me a reasonable price, then sent me pics so I could send to the other place who messed up the job in the first place so they could reimburse me. I will be taking my car back to Auto Stop for some other work...excellent customer service too...highly recommend!!!

I had a issue with my truck and the service manager made sure it was fixed. Thought is was done and the issue was still. He was very apologetic and said he would take care of me. He ended up replacing 3 sensors on my truck and didnt even charge me extra for them. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I had a very significant oil leak. I made a 9am appointment and brought my car in at 8:30am. I called at 10:30am and was told it was being pulled into the garage. It wasn’t until 11:30 that I got a call saying that the car had to be cleaned, in order to find the issue, because there was a lot of oil everywhere. It was told to me this would take 2 to 3 hours. Understood, four hours later I was called to be told it could be two issues. So my car was in the garage for almost an entire day with me being out of work and nothing done but a $200 cleaning (which I also found out was way overpriced). After speaking with management they told me they had to really work hard to clean the oil. Long story short, I took it a few miles up the road to find out there was still oil all over the place (this was verified with pictures) and it didn’t even look like anything was thoroughly cleaned. I also got my issue repaired for about $600 less than their quoted price. I’ve never had an experience like this at an auto shop and never write reviews. This one had to be written. Take it as you wish.

I was visiting family in Arlington and had a splash shield that needed to be reattached. Always annoying when car problems accompany you on a journey! Great online reviews and proximity took me to Auto Stop. Easy scheduling, quick repair, and NO CHARGE! Can’t say enough about about how customer focused they are. If you need car repair give them a call!

The best customer service experience I have ever had! Im in a customer service industry and have been recognized for my excellence in delivering impeccable customer service These guys have it nailed. They know how to speak plainly and accurately about car repairs to their customers. They are exceptionally friendly and personable. The goodie bags are the cherry on top! Highly, highly recommend.

Do not take your car here! While fixing a broken water pump on my car they not only failed to replace a brake cord but also knocked one of the sensors on the clutch loose. Then, when I tried to take it back insisted that it was a started issue and tried to charge me an additional $500 to fix that, irregardless of the fact that the car was starting! Two trips to a different mechanic later my two year old car is working fine again, no thanks to Auto Stop.

Had a very thorough pre-purchase inspection done. The $130 spent pales in comparison to what I would have sunk into that car had I not gone. They saved my rear. Thanks

We brought in a car to get checked out about a week before a long trip. It of an abundance of caution, we brought it back in to make sure everything was alright. They went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Over the last four years, weve had a good relationship. When asked, they helped us to triage the work thats urgent for safety vs preventative for saving us money in the long run vs nice for comfort but not otherwise an issue. If you work with them, they work with you.

A lot smaller than I thought but overall great experience! Got the parts in quick, decent price and fast service! Thank you! 😊

So happy with this experience. I asked to have 3 things done. The first they told me I didn’t need to do for another year. The second they told me the estimate for what they could do, but encouraged me to follow a cheaper solution elsewhere. The third, they cannot do and are referring me to someone. They easily could have said I needwas d to have things done now and not let me know about a cheaper solution. And, they were nice. I can’t believe it, I think I found an honest auto shop! Brought my car in for my state inspection last minute after work on the last day of the month. They serviced me right away and even stayed late to finish my car! Great customer service AND they were cool with me bringing my dog in the waiting room.As a woman, I’ve had many experiences in auto shops where I feel objectified, taken advantage of financially, or talked down to. All the staff at autozone were fantastic, the prices are reasonable and upfront, and I feel super comfortable coming back. 10/10 would recommend :)
