This is a beautiful, cozy store with wonderful and inspiring products, but it needs work on its customer relations. I love their magnets, cards, and boards. Ive bought several magnet boards, magnets, decor items, coloring pages, and other items for myself. I like to support local business as an Ann Arbor resident, so I work on buying most of my gifts locally. Ive bought a fair amount of items here for my pals as gifts too. Im taking away two stars from my review, since I find Im treated differently when I shop here alone, versus when I bring my husband with me. As of this writing, Im in my late 40s, so maybe I look younger (a good problem to have!) and this is behind various members of staff needing to watch me like a hawk? Oh honey, I have my own money and credit cards at this age. Im not going to shoplift! I really prefer being treated like a valued customer, not a potential thief. A suggestion: get security cameras maybe? Im just hoping that maybe the 10 or more times this extra vigilance has occurred when Ive shopped alone that Im misreading things. I guess if it only happened once or even twice, Id give the benefit of the doubt, but nope. It keeps happening. I keep shopping here, but I am beginning to question it. Another note: Some of us introverts process the world differently and for me, I need to take my time to look at everything, processing what to buy for my needs or for gifts slowly. Also, some of us wear jeans or yoga pants and sweatshirts or t-shirts when we shop or do errands, since maybe we just returned from yoga class while in downtown Ann Arbor or seeing a doctor or going to the farmers market. A casually dressed customer doesnt mean he or she cant afford to shop at your store. Please dont become a snobby type of store. I also dont want to bring my business elsewhere. I am wiling to keep trying here. I just wanted to be honest, in case it can be helpful. Thanks for listening.
This gift shop made my day. The woman working was very nice and friendly giving me bug smiles. I enjoyed the gander and found most things I liked. Priced High, but still cute.
I almost walked out after the first item I picked up was mittens for nearly $45! Occasional sticker shock aside...great collection of seasonal and special occasion items (especially adorable magnets). Five stars also because the staff actually is warm and inviting; which you dont always get in AA. There is an online option and points system. A great place for a quick last minute gift, or to enjoy holiday browsing. I will definitely be back!
This store has some unique gifts. The decorative magnet selection is amazing. Some Michigan gift selections are very nice too!
This is such an amazing unique store ! I bought my daughters Christmas gift here and shipped it to Atlanta. Really unique and she and her husband loved it 🎉
Roeda (ROWE-dah) Studio is a Michigan owned company, producing most of its wares in Grand Rapids, MI.The overall concept is magnetic scrapbooking using hand painted magnets to decorate and hold up photos on either metal easels or memo boards.Carol Roeda, the owner, also features her concept called Color Out the Darkness, selling dark gray coloring pages and other related products. Its a very cute shop in downtown Ann Arbor. They sell additional things like cards, candles, and miscellaneous home decor. The staff is friendly and helpful, and there are often coupons.(They also have a cute Roeda Rats house in the back of the store, if you like fairy doors)
If youre shopping for cool magnets, shop here.
Cute, affordable home decor. Reminds me of the Magnolia Home collection.
