I went to Wal Mart to have a couple prescriptions filled that had been called in that morning. The pharmacy tech said it would be a half hour so I shopped for a half hour and went back. The pharmacy tech said it would be another 15 minutes so I decided to just wait for it. When it was ready I had to do the Consultation with the pharmacist Jen. She proceeded to tell me that in the future I need to not wait by the pharmacy area. I was told to wait in my car or for a text message from them but not in the pharmacy area. Wow! Thanks Jen!! Not a “sorry for the almost hour wait”. I get the Covid thing and social distancing. I was wearing a mask and not standing close to others. The pharmacy tech was great and explained why it was taking so long but Jen clearly dislikes her job.
Their staff is always so nice and efficient. Live this Pharmacy.
Jen made our experience horrible. She sold us the wrong stuff, couldnt return it. Then the whole time she was making us uncomfortable and asking personal questions. She was judging me and giving me dirty looks, couldn’t give me a straight answer either. She was questioning my grandma on why she was even prescribed something, honey we get you have to answer our questions, but theres no reason to be getting noisy in our business. IMO she needs fired and needs a different career that doesn’t include customer service. “Deer” and everyone else seems knowledgeable and is nice. Unfortunately there’s no way to avoid Jen.
Had a rash come in out of no where today and happened to be in WALMART in Ankeny so i stopped by the pharmacy to get some advice. The pharmacist was extremely rude and condescending. Almost like i was wasting her time. She cut me off like she didn’t want to hear or didn’t have 30 seconds to hear anything.
These pharmacie workers need to go to manner school. Their rude. I will b changing pharmacies after today. Pretty bad when its your first time at this pharmacy.
Knowing that on average they fill 500 prescriptions daily blows my mind. But there is SO much more to their jobs than that, for instance they are tasked with having to deal with insurance companies [and anyone whos had to do that understands insurance companies are difficult to work with to say the least], they are also tasked with working alongside Dr offices, Hospitals, Urgent Care, Dentists as well as veterinary clinics. They are asked to work under extremely fast pace conditions all the while being accurate, lets face it a mix up can cost lives. But the factor they dont get enough credit for is having to deal with the general public. Oh cmon dont act like you havent been behind someone in line tearing into a pharmacy tech for something which is outta their control. So next time got picking up a prescription consider a few of the things Ive mentioned. Flash a smile and remember that might be the only smile that person recieved all day.
I have never used anywhere except the Ankeny Wal Mart pharmacy. I had a close family member pick up my prescription and the pharmacist proceeded to tell that family member a bunch of lies regarding my health. Then she proceeded to diagnose me over the counter. I have never heard or experienced anything this unprofessional until now and I will be changing my pharmacist. Im sure the next person wont take it as kindly and walmart will have (yet again) another lawsuit.
Always courteous and helpful
