Place is always clean. The employees are friendly too. There are some cute employees. If I were to leave my current job I would go work here.

Decent Target. Especially nice now that they finished repositioning departments. Used self check out most of the time and the target app makes it easy to use your Target Card & earn rewards for each purchase.

Employees in the store were so helpful! Lots asked if I was finding everything, and when I approached someone to help me find curtains, he walked over to the correct area with me. I have never had such great service in a Target before, and maybe in any store!

Im a healthcare worker and I had worked a 16 hour shift before running to Target to get a gift for my daughter. I live in Ames, I stopped in Ankeny and delivered the gift to Des Moines. I left my phone/checkbook in the cart after loading my car. It wasnt till I arrived in Des Moines that I realized I had forgotten my phone/checkbook. I drove back to Ankeny to find that a very nice young man, a cart attendant by the name of Michael had found my pocketbook and returned it to customer service. The pocketbook had a new Iphone and over a $100 dollars of cash in it. Not a thing was missing.

The time I spent waiting was minimal the correct order was brought out the first time

This is the NICEST Supertarget I have ever been too. Ive travelled and lived all over the US and Ive shopped at all kinds of targets. Until now, the nicest one I had ever seen was in Scottsdale, AZ. This target blows the one there out of the water. Ive never seen such a HUGE grocery store..its totally complete for any meal you may need (or like me while moving to Iowa)..stock up on snack and great frozen items. The selection is great and the associates are all super fast and helpful and polite. I just moved to the area and this is my number 1 go to place to shop. I had the misfortune to have to go pick up some meds at the local walmart...ugh. I couldnt WAIT to get out of there. What a disaster. This target is the bomb!

I was attempting to purchase clothing for my elderly mother who I was taking to rehabilitation later that day. All I could find was yoga pants!!! (Hahaha) If I did find a size medium bottom, no matching top in medium. Or Id find a medium top but no matching bottom!!! I was getting really stressed out when I found an employee, Emily. I explained my situation and she led me to a different area. Even together we still could not find matching a set in medium. Emily went into the back storage area and searched for some items. Finally after about a total of 40mins I walked out with just 2 outfits. 1 outfit was perfect the other wasnt ideal but it was better then nothing. Emily was really nice and very helpful. I truly appreciate her helping me. Id give 5 stars if they had more matching sizes. I wanted to purchase 4 or 5 outfits, but Target just didnt have what I needed.

Clean store, good selection, good prices. Plus we are in Iowa and our govenor lifted the mask mandate. The local grocery chain is choosing not to enforce masks so we are doing more of our shopping at Target who does still require masks.

They deserve 0 stars. And full customer loss..Im a reputable Vendor for starters. Ive seen the management here degrade, disrespect, and humiliate Pepsi, Frito Lay, Coke, and other vendors at various times, on several days. Today, it was my turn I guess and it started with front end customer service. A young woman (not named) basically accused me of package theft since they were missing packages and was unclear where they went after I had picked them up a few days ago and brought them to my Terminal for further delivery (as my job entails). She asked me If I was doing my job properly to which I responded I know how to do my job, I think its on your end, or the other branch of my company, but Im not sure she responded snobbily I know how to do my job (Okay, whatever) she ran off to tell someone else. I was then met with Collin, a Shift lead who chased me down and then began power tripping on me, in the front end of the store near the cash registers in front of SEVERAL customers I was confused, because I had said or done nothing wrong to my knowledge in my honest belief. I was told to leave the store immediately (Which would force me to not follow the obligations of my job, which would be a serious complainable offense) if not wearing a mask (I didnt have one, and I cant wear one anyway due to my job needing my face to be fully visible, and other private reasons) He then continued to belittle, berate, humiliate, and disrespect me in front of a large group of customers and didnt offer me an opportunity to say a word, or defend myself because he kept interrupting me, cutting me off, or saying You dont need to say a word while putting me on blast in the front of the store whilst I was performing my job duties. (Whatever, dude I get that youre unhappy in your life and want to take it out on someone who has to remain professional and cannot retaliate)He then made a phone call to my boss, and I have a copy of the SLANDEROUS lie filled email stating my mass long term unprofessional attitude when Ive only been on this route for 2 weeks, and other details which, no shocker; are in areas he never works in anyway and that Im RESPECTED in. So, Collin shift lead, power tripping, disrespectful dude, your lies are caught and Im hoping at least a few customers who witnessed your charade will be kind enough to complain to your boss about your publicized, belittling display towards me on a 100+ degree day when I was just doing my job while handling your, and the female employees unnecessary attitudes so that your slanderous complaint towards me to my company is revoked and deemed invalid. (Which Im sure it will be, because your complaint is 100% not my character, and stated you worked in areas that you dont actually step foot in). Cheers, and I await your full apology. Youre not fit to properly and professionally manage a very little situation, but Target deems you fit to lead people to obtain profits? What a joke.

Obviously Target is amazing and I will probably always shop here. It’s clean, great selection, and remodeled. I have to say though that the customer service department is a hit or miss. There have been times where I’ve done order pickup where the employees have been courteous, prompt, and I’ve had great conversations with them! However, I’ve had two negative experiences in a month’s time where the customer service employees haven’t been very customer friendly. It’s a shame because Target as a whole is awesome! Maybe re-evaluate your customer service employees. Otherwise, great store. :)

Erich at the guest services counter was amazing. I had an issue with a return and he was very patient and helpful. I love this store.

I shopped today to take advantage of items in the weekly Ad. Pricing is not always as marked or advertised on items when you get to the cashier. Got to the cashier and I had to tell her which items I bought that qualified for gift cards or special pricing. And then she had to look them up in her ad. I am furious that Target makes me monitor these pricing and gift cards. I think Target is being intentionally deception with their offers. Furious!

Ms. Beth up front is an outstanding leader! Her driven customer service and willingness to go above and beyond for the customer is beyond compare. I will return again and again just for welcoming attitude helping nature. Kylee at the guest service counter made order pick up smooth and hassle free! I also observed another fellow named Kelvin helping another customer and going the extra mile to assist his guest with locating an item at another location! Wow! What a driven team.

I love Target, but I really dont like the redesign. It is harder to find things now and I dont like how hidden the sections have become. Im also not wild about the fact that you started playing music. Target used to be a quiet sanctuary.

Extremely disappointed in this store customer service and the store manager. I went in today to see why a gift card was not activated. I was met with an assistance the said Are you here for as store pick up . I said no I have a problem with this card. IMMEDIATELY all I got was WE ARE NOT TAKING ANY RETURNS UNTIL APRIL 13TH. When I asked again all he did was shove a sign at me that said the same thing. NOT even a small amount of customer service AT ALL. It could have been as easy as possibly re-activating the card, but NOTHING at all. Pour, pour customer service

On April 6th 2020 we visited and wanted to use a gift card that was gifted to us that had 30 bucks on it to make a purchase. We got our stuff and went to check out and pay with the card but the cashier working the register, Riley, used scissors to scratch off the code on the back and shredded the access code. He called a manager and they told me I was out of luck and needed to call the number on the card and refused to make it right and acted like they did nothing wrong. First off why would you use scissors to scratch the cover off? Should have used a penny or even a edge on the desk to do so. Very disappointed and upset I need a receipt to get a replacement card via the phone number. Way to rob me of 30 bucks.

I love that they wipe down everything before get a cart, load your groceries on the conveyor belt, and the social distancing announcements while Im there.

The Ankeny location is the largest location Ive been to even compared to the Target in Arizona. The store was so completely organized and everything neatly placed it was so easy to get to the Isles. The employees are eager to help you and make you feel so welcome.

When I needed help carting a large item, the associate cheerfully loaded it and helped me find related items. She walked us to an open register for quick check-out. Then they helped load it into my vehicle. Very pleasant experience!

ABOVE & BEYOND: every time I visit this Target location, daily it seems, the Team Members go above & beyond my expectations in every capacity! Friendliness, willingness to help, service with a smile, and even empathy and compassion. I say that not just because I am a disabled “adaptive shopper” but because of the passion I see from employees like Team Leader Laura, and Mercedes, Dan in Customer Service, and each member on the floor stocking shelves. Whoever is doing the hiring their should be commended because these employees at this Target location warm my heart each and every time I come in! God bless 😊

I would only recommend Target if someone asked about a specific item I remembered seeing there... Im pretty ambivalent about shopping large retailers. Target is especially consistent with providing consumable merchandise space to whichever company gives them the most money for product placement. The boutique style home goods that fill most of the store end up in the landfill at an alarming rate, and I still cant find the consumable products that I wish to purchase.

Price impacts the recommendations to whoever but to most people I would recommend going to target for any basic things, groceries, toiletries, basic electronics, etc. I feel that a 9 is the right choice because there are better places for each thing individually, like if you want groceries than go to fareway or hyvee, but as a well-rounded store for all kinds of stuff that is higher quality than say Walmart, Target is a good choice. The only downside outside of a 10 is the slightly higher price you pay for quality.

Long time loyal Target shopper whom hates the remodel. Many items we buy are now no longer sold at Target. Never enough cashiers and when shopping for a large family self check is not an option due to bagging issues. Tall sizes in clothes are almost non existent at Target now. Shoes are gone. So disappointed in the overall lack of variety and crowded narrow aisles and layout that make shopping with kiddos nearly impossible. And why are canned raviolis now kept in the baking aisle?!? Took two employees and alot of wasted time searching to find them (and many other items too). So disappointed and bummed. Lost my favorite go to weekly store.

I had exceptional service from cashier Hailey and Josi in customer service. When there were issues with Cartwheel, Hailey was diligent in working to address the issues. Ultimately, Josi was able to successfully resolve all of the issues and even had someone exchange my ice cream and popcycles because it took a while and they were melting. I teach in an MBA program and the customer service I received from Josi was exactly what I try to instill in our students. She is an asset to Target and managed to turn a bad experience into a more loyal customer. Thank you!

My cartwheel discount wasn’t working properly and the person that came over to assist the cashier was somewhat rude telling me I was trying to stack 2 manufacturers coupons. Nowhere on the offer did it state it was a manufactures coupon. Never seen a manufacturer coupon for a %

Drive up was extremely quick and easy. Loved the convience of the drive up service.

Very disappointed in this store since the recent remodel. They over rely on the self checkout and do not staff enough cashiers. Theyve completely given up on the idea of an express lane. I wanted to look at purchasing a video game controller, but items in electronics are locked up so tight you cant even look at the back of the box without having an associate unlock it. It feels like serving actual customers has become an inconvenience for this location.

Quick and easy run and done. No employees harassing me but available if needed.

What can I say? I cant get out of a Target without spending hundreds of dollars. With their cartwheel app, Red Card, and scouring their many sales, I get good quality stuff at great prices. I have even started using Target Optical for my glasses and I am pleased. I purchased a pair of Vogue sunglasses and regular glasses and I love the style, quality, and price. I paid less than $500 for both pairs and got top quality lenses in the regular glasses. In comparison, my last purchase if sunglasses and eye glasses at an optical shop cost me more than $700.

I purchased an iPhone at this store and ran into several issues with the insurance company that target tech highly recommended us to use (SquareTrade). Target tech provided me false information about what the insurance does/does not cover. I reached out several times to the the district manager and got no where. Poor experience. Definitely wouldn’t purchase anything from target tech department again.

I ordered a pair of sunglasses through the Optical center in the Ankeny Target. The customer service there was fantastic! All of the employees were very helpful. The employee that helped me the most was Jamie. She was very knowledgeable about the products and helped me to find exactly what I wanted. I will definitely return in the future.

Love target but especially love this location. It is one of the cleaniest targets Ive been in. The staff is always so friendly. The one thing Id like to see improved is, have the self check-out on both ends and have them open all the time . Yesterday I was there at 5pm and they werent open, I had to wait in line to purchase my two items I stooped by for, would have been nice to just self check out .

Word of caution: I would highly recommend not using this Targets location for pick-up. I ordered 2 items that were in stock at this Targets location (said both items were available on Target website) and went to pick them up-once I received the email for the items. However, once I got there they only had one of the items which I found odd-considering they charged my card for both items. So I went and looked at the item in the aisle it said it would be in via the Target website- and they they had it. Took the product up to customer service and said, hey, heres the item right here, then the irritation occurred. The manager came over and basically wasted 20 minutes of my time (and the people standing behind me) as I showed them the email I received that both items were ready for pick-up and they charged my card. The manager acknowledged this; however, he just stood there for legit 17 min saying this is odd, I dont know why they charged you when they were both ready--Ive never seen this before. Blah blah blah. So I said, Okay, can I take the item now? He told me no, I was like what? He said that one of the products was shipping from another target--even though it was right there. The offer he gave me was, I can cancel this order, and you can just buy this one, and I will put the money back on your card. I refused, no way was I going to risk paying for the item again and then get screwed. It was annoying, I felt bad people had to wait on me for 20 minutes when the manager just stood and literally looked at my phone and kept mumbling I dont know why they charged you. Also, he was sneezing, coughing loudly, not covering his mouth/nose-- and wiping his nose with his hand and touching my phone. It was gross, even other people were standing back from him.

I usually prefer Target over Walmart, however I had a very bad experience at Target this week. I was purchasing fruit which was sold by the pound, however the stores scales were not calibrated so they just estimated the weight for purchase. The register clerk said this weighed oh this much and then that was the cost. The most disappointing part of this experience was I had to ask what was happening and was not told till I asked why the fruit was not weighted till I asked. It is illegal to sell fruit by the lb. and not weigh it. When I complained about it to the register clerk and later to the manager they were like well that is just the way it is. No real apology for not informing the customer. I as being over charged for my purchases. This is just wrong.

This is where we go when we need the stuff they carry at a Target. Its a lot like Walk-Mart but I think their stock just a touch nicer (marketing...? maybe). This location is a Super Target I believe, meaning they also carry grocery items. Target doesnt carry everything (unlike Amazon) but if you need it right now they can usually deliver.

I just left the store with my 16 year old sister, who was accused of stealing from the store. We were stopped at the exit by an employee, and he rudely asked her what she did with a bath bomb she supposedly picked up. While we had picked up to look at several items, we never touched the bath bombs. She tried explaining that, but he escalated the situation by accusing her of lying and raised his voice in front of a few people walking out. It wasnt until she offered to let him search her that he let us go without an apology. I know he was just trying to do his job, but he should have made sure he had the right person or at least knew what the item in question was.

Have shopped at Target for years. I am a 68 year old grandma and was stopped at the door for a cart inspection. I have never even been accused of stealing and I have never in my 68 years stolen anything. You can be sure I will never shop there again. The employee was rude and condescending . I called after I left the store to see if this was going to be their routine and was told it was an isolated incident. Since I had not left the lot I returned everything and will not return. I felt targeted and my integrity was insulted. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

This target has a pretty good selection of just about anything. Its usually well maintained as well. Although recently I was looking for a duster with replaceable heads (preferably Swiffer) and was surprised that they didnt have any.

I used to work at this target about a while ago. It was a pretty nice job at first but, I had a customer complaint that was talked about but it could’ve been set to the side and we could’ve moved on because I already apologized about it. So I don’t understand why they had to hold that against me like where is the logic? To continue, I was also “let go” from here because of guest services. In this particular department you cannot be put up there once a week and expect to remember everything in one shift and also you cannot be up there BY YOURSELF and expect to learn that department properly. Not to mention how poorly they train you overall. The TL’s DID NOT put me up there enough in order for me to be able to work up there proficiently. And also to add some of the TL’s don’t know how to do there job and they want to sit up and talk to there friends in the lanes for 2 hours like get out of my way so I can attract customers to my lane again, where is the logic? In conclusion, this job is a scam in general. Some of the managers don’t even treat all the employees the same way as others and don’t give enough damn hours. How do you expect people to pay rent and other bills with only 8 hours a week WHERE IS THE LOGIIICCCCC!! Thank you and I hope you reconsider doing business at Ankeny Target.

Nice that they have plenty of carts that can accommodate multiple child-riders. Staff, selection, organization, and cleanliness are all what you’d expect at a Target.

I lived in MSP for 6 years and loved doing my grocery shopping at Target. Moved back to Iowa and was planning on doing my grocery shopping at Target as done previously. The meat is great here, but the produce is a far cry from good. To eliminate doing duplicate trips I now just got to Hy-vee.

Waited 15 minutes in line at guest service while a lady that either there did nothing. She saw us. Customers should always come before moving carts around in the back
