It was a quick and easy visit. Very respectful employees who were able to take care of my needs. There were some hiccups with the exam and I did have to redo the process, but I saw it as an opportunity to make sure that I got the correct prescription. They also had both pairs of glasses that I purchased cut, put together and in my hands within 15 minutes. Thank you!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AVOIDING THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!It seemed like an efficient alternative at the time but I really regret bringing them my business and wish I had read the reviews before I gave them my money. Like a lot of the reviews state, I also, am unhappy with the poor service and product that received and I feel totally ripped off too.I paid them for an eye exam but they messed it up and wont fix their error.I explained to them that I cant order my lenses because of the error they made on my prescription and asked that the mistake on my prescription be corrected and also pointed out to them that the trial lenses they gave me are the incorrect prescription as well as expired.This is 2021 and they are giving me something that expired in 2019!They told me they would fix the error and provide me the correct trials that are fresh and not expired, but they have not even contacted me (they have my email, phone number and all of my information). Ive tried to remedy this problem by going in to the store and speaking to them in person as well as over the phone, to no avail.When I call the customer service they tell me that the store isnt picking up their phone calls because they must be busy, and that they will pass along my requests and I can expect a call back when they have time. Nobody has gotten back to me.They have wasted so much of my time and money! I wish Id never gone there. At this point they should just refund me so I can get my eye exam done properly.

I made an appointment on-line and was able to attend it in on the date without any difficulty. The staff was intuitive and helpful. I was able to get an eye exam and my two pairs of glasses all in the same meeting. took only about an hour for my basic lenses. *Do know that the buy one get one free deal only pertains to frames. Not lenses.

The best customer service ever! The young gal who helped us knew everything we asked. She was so professional and kind. The service was great! Picked out two frames, buy one get one free. Had them put the prescription lens in and were ready for pickup in in about two hours.

Such a wonderful staff! So very patient with me. It was my first time having contacts and they were so respectful and did not rush me. I havent had my eyes looked at in 7 years because I couldnt afford to pay for an exam with no insurance. I went in and the people were really nice. I was able to get the free exam with the 60$ for 2 pairs of glasses. I wish I had been able to get them sooner but other than that it was an over all good experiance!

Staff was friendly however I didnt get what I wanted. I was explained with the sale yes its 59.95 plus a free eye exam and all I had to do was buy a pair of sunglasses and its free. I was not explained I would pay for the frame and lenses as additional. Its fine but I found a okay pair for now. Will be back for what I want but details couldve been clearer. The up side is they had my lens so I got my glasses same day. Other than those things would have given 5 stars.

I brought some non-Rx glasses in (that I admitted I didn’t purchase from them) to have the lenses swapped, expecting to drop them off and having a wait period to get them back. They did it on site at no charge, it took less than 10 mins. Everyone was super kind, it was nice and quiet with several employees on site ready to help guests. Will definitely come back!

Its Monday, my glasses broke over the weekend and I leave for vacation soon. I needed an eye exam and new frames STAT! Glad I went to Stanton Optical. They got me in within 20 minutes of waiting and had the lenses in house so I got my glasses same day! Very happy with my overall experience and help from Eunice Kim.

This is quite possibly the biggest rip off in Anchorage. Eye exam was conducted by someone, I believe, in a foreign country. After the exam I was told to pick 2 frames that were buy one get one free. The advertised price was $59.99. Picked the frames and was told total was $500. When I asked about the $59.99 they said, oh, that’s only for the glasses over there with green tags. Said green tag glasses were a total choice of 4-5 frames, with a few different colors. Pretty sure I could find better quality glasses in the novelty section at Walmart. Avoid this place at all cost, especially if you have never had glasses before.

If you are looking to feel confident in a quality eye exam, lower prices, or timely delivery - STAY AWAY! The exam is performed via distance with no indication of the opticians interest in potential eye health problems. The agent kindly explained mail delivery service which sounded great at the time. No show. Had to call and check.Apparently they have been sitting in the mail bin for the last two weeks. There are no more bargains than any other place.Update: I have still not received any glasses. I called and was kindly told I would be receiving an e-mail with a tracking number. No e-mail. No care. No glasses. Sigh. Worst experience ever.

Customer service was amazing with quality glasses and lenses. Many different types of glasses to choose from and the quality of the service was amazing and helpful throughout the experience in the shop. I was helped by one of the worker their named, Eunice. She was able to provide the most fit glasses for me at a reasonable price. It was my first time utilizing the shop, but she definitely made me feel comfortable shopping at this place and will continue to return to this shop for my eye wears.

So disappointed with the terrible quality service and glasses. Had an appointment for 5:30 and stood waiting in line until 5:50 for a staff member to give me a tablet to fill out. She showed me where to sit down an walked away. She never told me to bring the tablet back. It was disjointed and awkward.After returning the tablet and asking what next, she told me to keep waiting and someone would retrieve me for my eye exam.The exam was done remotely. I have no issue with this. I thought that aspect was super cool and futuristic. The doctor seemed rushed and very disengaged. Lack luster.The only positive thing about this entire place was the lens grinder. He was a very quiet and polite guy. He got to making me my prescription instantly. Lovely fellow.A picked my desired frames, and he worked his magic.Paid $300+ in total. Ignore the signs and deals, they’re beyond misleading.My main issue is my frames hurt my head after wearing them any time 10 minutes or longer ( how was I to know?) and my prescription seems to be done wildly incorrectly.I can’t focus, things are blurry and in any light, I see about 9 or 12 of the object I’m looking at. Horribly nauseating and headache inducing.Called in to ask for a refund. Was told by the gentleman that my glasses were likely made wrong... no kiddin!He told me they’d like to help me “make things right, but right doesn’t necessarily constitute a refund”I’ll be going back in person to plead with a manager for my money back. Based on my experience, I’d avoid this place all together. Doesn’t personally seem worth the headache.

I should have read the reviews beforehand. The staff was friendly. I didnt like the doctor in another state, on a TV screen, and operating the controls remotely. Very impersonal. The doctor had a thick accent and the sound system had an echoing feedback making it difficult to understand him. When making appointment they said they take my insurance but when I arrive im told they dont but will give me a discount. After the exam I said I may want to purchase my contact lenses elsewhere and I was told they were giving me a discount in expectations of making my lense purchase with them. But hey, they gave me a form to file with my insurance company for reimbursement. 🙄 I couldnt get my script until they order me trial lenses to try. I understand that but in my 20+ years of wearing corrective lenses Ive never had an experience like this. I didnt like it. My full experience is not yet complete as Im waiting for trial lenses and fitting exam. I will update my experience when done.Update:My trial pair of contacts came in and I was contacted at about the amount of time they said they would. I went inside to pick them up and was greeted by a friendly individual. She handed me my trial lenses and said my script would be emailed to me. I asked for the contact lense fitting/prescription check that I was told I needed, the last time I was in, in order to receive my prescription. Not to mention its a service in which I was already billed for and paid in full. She asked if I normally wear contacts and I said yes in which she replied with oh youre good to go then. As I was about to ask about why I charged and not rendered the service, she walked away to greet someone else. I left. I received the script by email shortly after leaving. I started this review with 2 stars. I have adjusted my rating to one star and thats only because the people I dealt with were at least friendly. I do not recommend anyone going to Stanton optical. Spend your money locally in the smaller independently owned offices where you will be treated by actual doctors, who are there in person, in which you can build relationships with. Places like Stanton Optical treat you like a number and take your money to California or other states. I have learned my lesson.

This place, while there are a few pleasant customer service providers, provides horrible service and is an absolute nightmare to obtain your Rx or even get an order in or received in the appropriate time frame. It’s distance delivery of service and on my daughters last appointment, the physician told her his time was up so he left the appointment and she had to sit and wait for the next doc to come on. What kind of service provider does that? One who is working for a company that only cares about making money and not about clients. Avoid at all costs!

Why does this place not have a working phone number???? That is very frustrating and inconvenient. We were told “3 days” and when we tried to call the location, not a single number would work. Then we called a number out of state, and they said the order would be here next month, and we said “no no, they said 3 days.” And he gave us a number, which again, wouldn’t work for the location we tried to call all morning long, only to find out we have to wait another alleged 3-5 days. We’re never going through this company ever again. It’s very disorganized, and lacks communication with customers, and from other reviews, seems to be a rip off.

I had just gone to my regular optometrist for an eye check and brought my glasses, which I’d recently rolled over on in bed and broken. My regular optometrist said “sorry, there’s nothing I can do to fix them” so I ordered a new pair. After I left I thought it’d be nice to have a backup pair. Dropped by Stanton in Anchorage off Dimond and while they didn’t have a frame that would fit, they proceeded to fix the pair I’d broken. I asked what I owed and they said “on the house” and wished me a good day. I was impressed they could/would step up when my regular optometrist didn’t and left feeling that’s somewhere I’ll be back.

Might be more affordable but that’s because everything is ran by machines and not actual eye doctor. Went in Stanton to get eyeglass and contacts done and ordered from my usual eyeglass company but they didn’t feel right. Went back a few weeks later to try to fix the issues but they told me to just keep wearing the glasses a little longer but I wasn’t about to risk it for longer so I went to an actual eye doctor instead. The contact power I got from my doctor were totally different from Stanton and Stanton gave me the wrong PD as well hence the bad eyeglasses I got. I don’t like to be a Karen but in this situation I would have to since it’s about the health of my eyes. The workers were very nice but just wish I was given the correct prescriptions Should’ve gone to a real office in the first place but that was my mistake.

I made an appointment less than 10 minutes out, came in and was seen right away. Zaria was and is absolutely amazing. She was down to earth, personable, and very helpful. I was a little overwhelmed by the prices however I got a call later that evening saying they were unable to fill my prescription, and I was being referred to a local eye doctor (their eye doctor was remote and therefore unable to do standard procedures such as dilating the eyes). They do have a great selection of frames, even for someone with a head as big as mine. I am giving four stars simply for Zaria. I don’t feel right giving five stars when I was unable to utilize all their services.

I made an appointment after having issues with my current eye doctor. They saw me the same day I made my appointment and were super nice and friendly. Eunice and another woman, whom I did not catch her name, were very polite and pleasant during the whole time I was there. The prices were affordable and the atmosphere was friendly. 10/10 would recommend to others.

This place was horrible. They charge outrageous prices and talk you into warranties and will not honor them.And when you walk in, and go to the service desk, prepare to be ignored. The guy working there intentionally kept his back to me while playing with his phone and wouldnt acknowledge me when I said excuse me can you please help me? Someone else had to tell him to help me. Then he gave me the snottiest attitude ever when I asked about having my glasses warrantied. I had them for 3 months and the antiglare/blue light filter was flaking off. He snarled at me that the warranty doesnt cover that and that Id have to have another exam and get all new glasses!

The whole staff was amazing! Great service and options for me and my 2 sons. We were able to get same day appointments and order glasses. Impressive! Eunice was fantastic! I didn’t get the names of others. Suggestion...wear name tags. Those of us who want to thank you want to be sure we do by name. Can’t wait to get new glasses fitted in the next few weeks. We drove from Soldotna, hoping we could get in. Was not disappointed.

The staff and representatives at the front were great, attentive and knowledgeable. They were friendly and presentable.But the office was extremely dirty, the floors have not been swept/vacuum in what seemed like months and the waiting area chairs were dirty and some seats were broken ( looking at a lawsuit if someone gets hurt). For being a fairly new building, I would have expected the office to be more presentable as far as cleanliness.Our sons exam was done remotely, which bummed him out. It was difficult to hear the Dr. over the speaker since it would cut out every now and again. I had to repeat what I thought she said for my son to understand.We were told we would receive a phone call the next morning for pickup, but we didn’t so we called to check - the automated system couldn’t recognize my phone number so I had to wait to talk to a live person... she then was able to access my son’s chart and was able to see that they were ready.Your front office is the FIRST impression for anyone, cleanliness and fixed waiting chairs would be the improvements I suggest as a first time customer.

Eye Exams are conducted remotely...which did not work out for me this time. Store staff I dealt with was pleasant and capable. I elected to buy frames from a different supplier ( Costco). When I presented my prescription from the Stanton eye exam to the Costco tech, her comment was wow, your left eye must have really improved over this last year.....be advised, we will make your glasses for you, but since we did not do your exam, we will not guarantee your glasses So they made the glasses and it turns out the prescription was wrong. I tried to live with the glasses for a while but have now decided it is simply dangerous to drive with these glasses. Stanton wont give me a new exam because I am beyond the 30 day window. So this deal is a complete loss for me.Bottom Line: I have zero faith in the remote exam methods Stanton is using. Also, before you get an exam anywhere, be sure the store offers frames/lenses you want, or you will end up eating the loss on a bad prescription if you get the glasses from a different vendor.Regarding the response below from Stanton Optical:I called the number you supplied and it is the same number used for all customer service inquiries. When I finally did get through to a customer service rep., I was told the same thing: no free repeat eye exam to give me an accurate prescription, and no refunds. The customer service rep had no record of any corrective action or “making things right”for my case. Since my problems with Stanton Optical services have happened, I have heard of several people here in Anchorage having bad/inaccurate eye exams from them. Bottom line; I spent hundreds of dollars for an eye exam and glasses and now have nothing to show for it. Never again will I use the services of Stanton Optical

I would give negative stars if I could. Absolutely terrible service.I have twins who both need glasses. We ordered them each a pair of glasses and a pair of sunglasses. We live in Seward, so we requested they get shipped to us rather than make the 5hr round trip to Anchorage. We were told it would take 2 weeks. We were never called when they were completed. I was only given a printed credit card receipt, I was told I couldnt take the order information with me, that it would be mailed with the glasses. So I have no other way to track the order.After 4 weeks of complete silence, I was finally able to get ahold of someone after waiting on hold for 50 minutes to finally talk to a representative, who was able to finally put me in touch with a person at the store. I was told someone thought it was a double order since it was two orders under the same parent name, even though they have very different prescriptions. I was never contacted. Instead, they were sent back to the store. WITHOUT EVER CONTACTING ME. They were just sitting in the store for weeks without any contact to the purchaser whatsoever. They apologized and said they would be sent promptly and I should expect them by the end of the week. They gave me a UPS tracking number that is incorrect, so again I cant track the order.Its now been 6 WEEKS. Still no glasses. Absolutely no contact from Stanton Optical. I keep trying to call but get put on hold for so long, its impossible to make contact. Ive currently been on hold for 1 hour and 32 minutes without talking to a single person. I spent $872 on childrens glasses. This is the worst customer service Ive ever received, especially on such a large purchase. One of my daughters has been wearing broken glasses that are crooked for a month and a half because of the service weve received. It is unfortunate we live in rural Alaska, making it challenging to pop into the store. This is not how to treat customers, especially children who need this service to succeed at school. I will vehemently tell everyone I know to avoid this establishment at all costs.

So I’m giving this a 2 because I am very disappointed with their service. They have good glasses but the service we got sucked. We went in for a replacement last time and no one advice us of our warranty expiring soon. So when we went in today they said said the price went up because the warranty expired!! If you want good business, please provide better service for other customers. IF YOU GET GLASSES HERE, MAKE SURE YOU ASK WHEN YOUR WARRANTY EXPIRES SO YOU WON’T BE SURPRISE WITH THE PRICE WHEN GETTING YOUR REPLACEMENT!!It did not make sense to me that she told us the warranty was for a year and we went in 4 days ago and paid about $3 which is really good. However when we asked, how come it’s $19(I know it’s not a lot to some but it is for me) she told us because it’s well over a year you have to pay full price. I got an eye prescription for contacts from them and I was told that if I came in I could get a half of year supply for $100 which was cool, thats a good deal but when I went in I told them that I needed to get a trial because I lost one of the contacts and I was willing to buy and I had $100 right there ready to pay for it but they told me that they couldnt give me a trial unless I got a year Supply which was $160.really.??? And when I asked for my prescription to go somewhere else she says whenever the doctors free he can sign off on it. Im not ever shopping here again.

This place is a rip off!! They don’t have a real doctor and they gave us the wrong prescription! When I tried to return the glasses they offered me a portion of my money claiming that visiting their office is worth $25. Trust me it’s not! We bought a pair of glasses elsewhere using their incorrect prescription, paid for a new eye exam with a real doctor for $120 and they really felt like they were being generous by refunding me 40 bucks. Do not go here I strongly encourage you to go elsewhere and see a real doctor!!

I was in on the 4th of March with my granddaughter. She was able to get her main pair of glasses that day and a pair of sunglasses soon after. I ordered a pair of computer glassed and wanted to use my frames for daily wear. It is now the 22nd of March and when I called to check on MY PAID FOR glasses they only just got sent out today! They are looking at the 25th for pick up! I am so amgry! If they cant put my new lenses into my frames right there I will take everything and pop over to a competitor to install my lenses. They told me at the initial exam two weeks! Now its turning into a month! The guy on the phone said its because of the prescription. I have bifocals with the line- not even a progressive edge! Augh! Never again!!-

I love this place! All of the ladies here were very warm and welcoming. Marie was awesome! She was very knowledgeable and had stellar customer service skills. I was concerned about what I would be paying since I am without insurance, but they have a really wonderful promotion going. So I was able to get not one, but two spectacular frames and lenses at a great price. And to top it off my eye exam was free! Thank you Marie!!

I just got off the phone with Eunice and she made my experience so much better. SInce covid started it has been kind of hectic dealing with hold times and to take care of my prescription. I was on hold twice for 30 minutes but when I got on the phone with her, her sweet personality and great customer service made up for it. Got everything I needed taken care of, and it was a breath of fresh air to deal with service like hers. Thank you! Will come back.
