Damn good cake. My wife picked up a gluten free cupcake here and I snagged a slice of cheesecake. All in all everything was wonderful. Their coffee is also quality!

Very pleased with customer service, the wedding cake was special order, non dairy. Then specific Hawaiian theme decor. It was beautiful and tasty. They delivered. I rated a 4 due to expense although I didnt compare it to other wedding cakes and never bought one before. It was a very busy time for special event cake makers. I would definitely use them again. Amazing cupcakes!! Loved doing a custom order for my birthday and for my wedding.

I used to really like their cupcakes, so for my last birthday in the state, I decided to splurge on one of their celebration cakes. I got the champagne cake, and it is just the worst cake I have ever had. I have two stars because it is, of course, gorgeous. The sugar wasnt evenly incorporated into the frosting, giving some bites that were too sweet and others that werent sweet at all. Its somehow worse than the infamous grocery store cake frosting. Overall just a really disappointing cake, especially with the $30+ price tag on a 6 inch cake. Youd be better off with a $2 box mix. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and for that reason alone I almost didnt post this review, but the cake was really that bad. I couldnt even finish one slice.Also, we DID let it come to room temperature before eating, in case anyone thinks that was the issue.

I went there today (10/07/21) at 7:51pm with my kids. They were so excited because we made it on time based on website store hours later to be disappointed. They were already closed when we got there. So please change your closing store hours to 7:50pm or 7:45pm if you’re not going to follow them.Sincerely,You’re lost customers with crying kids at home :)

Ordered a cheese cake & a cannoli, a milk and espresso. Paid. Went to sit down but all the tables were dirty. All of them. We told them about this and a girl came over and cleaned a table for us. The cheese cake was weeks old as was the cannoli. We never got the milk or espresso. After we finished we waited. We waited. Finally we went up to the counter to cancel the drinks because we had to leave. “The owner has to do refunds.” Ends up the owner was sitting right there on a stool (about 35’ away from the dirty tables) and offered us “something sweet” instead. We said we just had our sweets. So he refunded the cost of the milk and the espresso and kept the 25% tip. Wow!

Alaska Cake Studio catered our wedding, they delivered out to Wasilla, which was amazing. The appetizers were incredibly delicious: Caprese on skewers, smoked salmon, and mini quiches (best crust!). For dinner the pork and cabbage was perfectly cooked! They did not have many protein vegetarian options to go with, but they were able to whip something up. We had Lavender and Lemon cupcakes that were to die for!! Yummy!! Yum! Thank you, Cake!

This place came recommended by a guide book but our experience was pretty disappointing. We got a single red velvet cupcake for $6.50 (!) and couldn’t finish even half of it. Tasted very stale. Upon enquiring, it was claimed they were made right there and were fresh which put us off even more because it clearly didn’t seem believable.ADDED AFTER OWNER’S RESPONSE: thanks for your note, appreciate the detailed explanation. With that said, I do want to emphasize that we ordered the cupcake to eat in-store (NOT taken to-go). So looks like it should have been warmed up by your employee before serving us.

Cute little bakery with amazing pastries and chocolate. We ordered a variety of desserts and pastries and everything was delicious. If anything some things were a bit too rich and would have been better as a smaller serving. Overall it is a wonderful Bakery with very friendly staff.

I would first like to apologize for the lengthy review but the devil is in the details, I had been looking for a graduation cake for my daughter for a few weeks, and I came across Alaka Cake studio. I always read all the negative reviews first to see what people are dissatisfied with, but I found most of them vague, not exactly specific. I decided to give them a try, the positive reviews outweighed the negative. The hours were convenient (I live in the Valley) so I arrived to place my order, one of the owners greeted me and sat down going over all the options. I did have alot of questions and he was very patient reviewing different flavor combinations that I could order. I ordered my cake and picked it up on the date I requested (48 hours approx) which it was ready when I arrived. Upon arriving home we sliced into it, it was moist and delicious exactly as I expected. I did follow the directions and let it sit out for about 4 hours before slicing it, as stated on the box lid. I was pleasantly surprised that the icing wasnt to sweet. It was amazingly flavorful and beautiful and well worth the cost. I will recommend this bakery to everyone and will be ordering again!!!

The lady that works there pretty regularly is very rude. Shes short with customers and doesn’t know any flavors to anything. She acts like she doesn’t want us there and it’s very unwelcoming. I use to eat there everyday and now I no longer enjoy being in the store.

My husband bought our son his birthday cake from here. I usually dont have the sweet tooth for cake especially frosting. However, this place really won me over. Being new to Alaska and not knowing the area well we will definitely continue to use them for future purchases. By far hands down the best cake Ive ever tasted!!

The service was amazing. They have a nice variety of cakes and different goodies. Was able to go in and get the cake that was needed. Its a nice place inside the 5th ave mall. They have some nice Valentines Day cakes if you are looking for something to pick up on the way home.

I was looking for a birthday cake as well as mothers day cake for my sister. I was asking for other cake flavors, and prices, but the staff is not accomodating, Staff were not friendly, she was rude, Poor costumer service. I will never come back to this store.

I love their cupcakes. I really have to say by far hands down the BEST cupcakes in Anchorage, Alaska. The peanut butter chocolate cupcake will always be my favorite. The carrot cupcake is my girlfriends favorite as well. I ordered from them for my girlfriends birthday and she LOVES Alaska cake studio cupcakes.

The cake I bought was very satisfactory in cost and taste and our daughter loved it for her 27th birthday.. but the reason for the 4 stars is I thought there should’ve had a paper doily under the cake to make easier to pull out of the box so u weren’t left sticking your fingers in the cake . Coming from a cake shop like this should be offering this and to my surprise there was no doily . Otherwise excellent service.

For the taste of cake, it was definitely not worth the money. To crummy and to hard of a cake. Not moist and did not meet taste standards. Ate one piece and threw rest away.

Stopped in while wandering the mall and glad we did. I got the Funfetti cheesecake, wife got the marble cheesecake, and the kids got a BlackBerry cupcake and a cookies-n-cream cupcake. It was all delicious and wanted to get more. Kids were happy and ready for the afternoon. The cakes werent too sweet and just right amount of flavors. Definitely come stop by for dessert or for a party cake. Will be getting the maple bacon cake next time!!

First off, my parents bought 2 cheesecakes for my sisters wedding. We had never bought cakes from this business before, and it was an Alaskan owned business, so we thought it would be fairly good. However, we were sorely mistaken. The cheesecakes crumbled and tasted sour. They didnt even look professional. They were definitely not worth $93. The person in charge, Mary, even said that she makes these cheesecakes, but when we called to complain about them, Mary said she orders them from out of state.

This place...I have no words. They made my mother-in-laws 50th b-day cake and she was highly impressed! We all were! Not only was it a beautiful looking piece of art but the taste was phenomenal! Rum infused marble cake, buttercream frosting with ganache and toasted coconut on the sides! Again, phenomenal!!!

It never fails, you stop in to get a latte, and you have to stand and look at all the fabulous pastries and cakes, and so much more. Rarely will you get out of there without picking up some sweets to go with your latte.

Ive had the pleasure of trying several cakes, candies and cookies from Cake Studio over several years and I feel like they are 100% worth a visit. Great service and atmosphere. Highly recommend the champagne cakes :)

A good alternative to the grocery store cakes of Anchorage for sure. We picked up a red velvet cake and it was tasty. Good icing, pretty moist, and not that much more than the mass produced alternative. The shop sells lots of other pastry and snack bites, as well as coffee. Its in the mall on the first floor, so its in a good foot traffic location if you happen to be walking by. Check it out.

Good people but very poor communication. They says send me email to confirm me they received my order but I didnt and they have my number but no one called me. And I thought they didnt received my ordered then I ordered a cake from Midnight Sun Cakery. Our party 12/12/2019 then they called us 13/12/2019 to tell us your cake is ready to pick up, how wonderful is that? And the test was very bad please see the video

This bakery goes above and beyond to satisfy their customers. Small business with a big heart. The desserts are delicious and the staff are very helpful, as well as polite! Definitely a “go to”.

Just went in to look at the pastry’s, saw some cupcakes and was about to order one but I changed my mind when I saw FRUIT FLIES FLYING ALL OVER THEM. Turned right back around and walked out, absolutely disgusting. Is that sanitary in your eyes? Come on now.

Got a small cake for my coworker’s birthday, some coffee themed flavor I can’t recall (mocha or espresso possibly). Sadly the cake was inedible, the frosting had dried out or wasn’t put on thick enough, and the cake itself was also dry. Threw it away after two bites and it cost 20 something dollars for the tiniest size cake available. Seems like it must have been sitting on the shelf for ages to become that dry. Tried to salvage but it was just a goner. All in all wasted good money and won’t be returning, quality control severely lacking. And honestly for the quality the prices are absurd. And I ended up having to go get something else for my coworker instead. Not a fun experience.

We had some custom cakes made for a celebration at work, and they did an amazing job! We worked with Bill, and he was absolutely patient, kind, and creative! Of course, the cakes were delicious! Couldnt be happier with our experience with Cake Studio.

Stopped by here today everything looked so yummy! Looks can be deceiving! I got two small mousse. A key lime and coconut dreams the are so gritty. The flavor was good but grits and mousse do not belong together.

Got me an anniversary cake when no one else could on short notice. Wife loved it. I go there regularly for the soup. Always good choices for those looking for variety.

We ordered a lemon cake for a friend. It was way too expensive. It was not very pretty. No design or flowers or anything on it. It was like a big heavy yellow blob. The frosting was extremely heavy and thick. When you cut into the 6 thick cake, it was supposed to be a four layer but was only 2 thick layers. It was a very ugly slice of cake. The cake was overcooked to where the edges was dark brown and inside was dried out. On a positive note, he lady that helped us was friendly and the cake was made very quickly.

Out of town from FL, stumbled onto CAKE in Anchorage Mall. Best ever lemon cake and blackberry dome. Coffees were delicious as well. We will definitely visit again.

This was the only location of four I called that was able to make the kind of cake I wanted with somewhat short notice. They had it ready and had great customer service when I picked it up. The consensus of everyone on the quality was that it could have been a little more moist (reason not 5 stars) it had beautiful presentation and it was delicious.

I love this place!!!! The mousse is amazing...along with everything else! Reasonably priced, especially for being in a mall. The owner was extremely friendly. They also have cute aprons and thjngs for sale.

Wonderful spinach dried tomato quiche!!! For $5 I was served a large portion with mouth watering flavor. Just ask for it to be warmed up and eat in the café or take it to go. Was a perfect breakfast with nice conversation with the staff.Will definitely return on my next trip to Anchorage.

We ordered a smash cake and some cupcakes from Alaska Cake Studio for my daughters first birthday (I was a loyal All Star Bakery patron, but I guess they are no longer around, unfortunately). We ended up only getting the smash cake, and without any decorations other than a generic bow because when the cake decorator spoke to my wife she explained how it wouldnt be worth the cost and time to have the cake decoration we requested made to be put on the cake. The prices were kind of high, but we werent even complaining about the cost, it is our daughters first birthday after all. You dont go to a bakery and get a special order cake and expect it to be cheap. Anyway, my wife was unimpressed by the fact that it was made into an inconvenience for the cake studio to fulfill an order placed well in advance, and we were willing to pay even the high prices we were quoted. After all that, we ended up cancelling the cupcake order.In conclusion, the cake and pastries there are good, the work is good too, but its not worth the prices when combined with poor service.

We had a Holiday party catered by Alaska Cake Studio and it was disappointing. Most of the food was bland and the vegetables were overcooked. Ive never tried the bakery items, but for catering I would look elsewhere.

Very disappointment in the cake. It tasted like cake mix from a box and the frosting from a can. The frosting was so sugary you could feel the grains.I got a cake with “buttercream frosting” there was nothing buttercream about it.

Since December, I have tried this place on three separate occasions. Twice I tried the cake slices and one I tried the Cupcakes. The cupcake was lovely. The Icing is always wonderful. Both visits where I had cake it tasted like stale cardboard. Obviously someone doesnt believe in using salt when they bake and also has trouble sifting. the cake borders on raw flour flavor and the texture is tough. It seems like a european texture is what is being sought after but with everything I mentioned before added in, it all just tastes like bad cake. I may come back to try the other baked goods, but dont make cake anymore... Its truly terrible.

I love cAKe! They are my absolute favorite place to get baked goods. They are always able to make my picky requests happen! great customer service, if you have to wait do it. They give undevided attention, which makes it totally worth it. I prefer the fresh baked rather than their daily’s (mainly because I always have special requests). Oh! My sons first bday away from home in the airforce in Alaska. I ordered Christmas Eve and my son received on time at his dorm on 12/26/17.Delivery guy even delivered to his dorm room on base. We stopped by the new 5th Ave Mall location on my birthday. We picked three items; a slice of whiskey cake, a slice of champagne cake, and a Guinness Cupcake.The frosting on each was buttercream, and was well made. The champagne cake was a bit dry, but the other two were moist and perfect.The flavors, while interesting, were mild. I would have preferred a stronger flavor from each of the cakes and frostings. What I mostly tasted was well made buttercream and cake, with a hint of whiskey, champagne, or Guinness. Turn up those flavors and Id become a repeat customer.One more criticism, the cupcake was tiny compared to the mound of frosting on it. The frosting was literally larger than the cake. I dont know if this is a trend or what, but no thanks! Id rather have the frosting remain an accent to the cake, rather than the other way around.Overall, I like cAKe Studio and will probably be back (though as a local I hardly go downtown, much less to the 5th Ave Mall) - but I hope those interesting flavors get a boost!
