I would rather give a -5 star rating - Rude and dismissive to younger people and women; when someone else tells them one thing and then the people there today say they are lying ?!?!? I have news for you - either learn better customer service skills and treat ALL people equally or get a new line of business because our household with 7 vehicles between us all will NEVER come to you or say anything nice about your company. I will buy my son the machine to mount balance and do the studs himself for everyone we know before allowing them to come be treated horribly by your staff.

Brought my 2020 Durango r/t with specialty rims in to have them switch my summer tires to winter tires when leaving the shop I noticed massive vibration in my tires I called them they told me to bring it back to rebalance my tires after bringing my car back the owner Mike fox said that 2 of my rims was bent and that’s why it was vibrating I explained there was nothing wrong with my rims till he touched them and after he had my my car the second time there is now gouges in the same 2 rims he offered to paint them I explained that doesn’t fix the bent rims or the gouges they need to be replaced he refused to replace my rims that he damaged I took my car to kd discount tire they confirmed Alaska tire and rim damaged my rims and also informed my that none of the 4 tires was balanced correctly so Alaska tire and rim will destroy your rims and can’t even correctly balance a tire do not go there

Outstanding customer service and reasonably priced. I purchased my tires here in March of 2020 right before the covid lock downs. The tires were already studded and as a courtesy they offered me to remove the studs free in the spring. Well covid happened and I was unable to get the studs removed. Here today I came to get a tire patched and they honored the offer for me and removed my studs. Thats how you build a loyal customer. Ill definitely be returning for any tire needs and highly recommend you go here too.

I called up to ask for a set of winter tires for my car. Jessica was able to help me find what I was looking for. She patiently took her time to answer every question I had about the item. Not only did Alaska Tire and Rim had I was looking for, the quoted price was also the cheapest compared to other places in town.I went in to confirm the purchase and get them installed a few hours later. I was greeted with friendly and knowledgeable staff with great customer service. They confirmed that it was the right size for my car and took my key. I went to grab a cup of coffee and by the time I was done with my cup of coffee, the installation was completed. The whole process took less than 30 minutes.From what I saw, Alaska Tire & Rim has large selections of new and used tires. They also have a warm, sizable waiting area with a vending machine, a TV and free coffee for you in case you want to wait there for your car. Overall it was a great experience for me. I went to Alaska Tire & Rim, purchased the item I was looking for at a fair price, and was home within an hour.

I bought a very nice set of winter tires for my daughters car in September of 19. Yesterday, March 17, 2020 I went back to have one of them repaired because it had, unknown to me, had a plug in the right front tire that was leaking. They preceded to tell me that I had taken that tire somewhere else and had it worked on and they ruined the tire. I told them the tire had never been touched since they put it on there. They called me a liar and would not budge. I have never had that experience before where a company took such action. It was the very tire they had put on and would not take responsibility. I wound up having to buy a new tire to put on while I vowed to myself to never do business there again. This morning I got up and had a flat on my other car which I need to put 4 new tires on anyway. That will happen tomorrow at another local business as I cant deal with dishonest people. The owner was very rude to me and condescending. I really hate leaving bad reviews! Good Luck with them.

Classic switch tactic..Wasted over an hour just to get tires that Ive owned but were stored, changed out with current tires that are showing severe tire wear (steel wire showing), only to be told by the arrogent owner that because my 2nd pair of tires were 12 years old they wouldnt install them.He then tried to sell me on buying a new set for $250 (how convenient)...

He was honest and truthful, although he could have sold me more expensive tires he suggested what was the best option at the best price for me and I highly admire the integrity he displayed. Great customer service!

We have done business with them for a few years but will never again after simply calling today to inquire about a car part repair. The owner has become a jaded, bitter,nasty and arrogant man who treats his customers like dirt lately. I asked him why does he think it is ok to treat a woman customer so badly for simply asking about a repair job which would have brought him business. I have noticed his personality becoming worse every time we go in. Shame on you Alaska Tire and Rim. You will never again receive any future business from our family nor will I send any more client referrals your way as I had been doing prior to today.

I had a great experience with AK Tire and Rim! They were friendly and explained things well. I appreciate that Mike is not willing to do substandard work but still gave me options of good, better, best so that I could choose for myself. Hey community! Just wanted to tell you about my experience with Alaska rims and tires. I had a broken tire and they sold me two used tires. The one of the tires was instantly leaking, unfortunately I noticed that too many miles away from Anchorage because its slowly leaking. Like one air filling a day.qIn the end I payed a strong price for a broken tire which is really annoying, if you are a young traveller who just wanted to get back on the road safely.So thats everything. Maybe I was unlucky but I can imagine, that the used tires doesnt get checked how safety they are.Have a nice day anyway!

The good: quick turnaroundthe bad: the kid behind the counter is rude and not very knowledgable(and thats being polite), the lady behind the counter was so busy on the phone she couldnt discuss the purchase I was about to make. You would think that spending $900 would get you a few minutes of her time. I paid up front and then later got a rude phone call from the kid telling me I owed another $4 per tire as a disposal fee. They should have said something when I was at the counter.the neutral: they were the only outfit in town that had the tire I wanted so I went with them and their price was no bargain.Bottom line: I wont be back, its all about customer service and theirs was pooramendment: Owner Jessica called me today to apologise and explain the circumstances concerning my transaction of yesterday. After hearing what she had to say I will say that she and her business should be given another chance. Sometimes things just get out of hand for all of us and she explained to me what she is doing to remedy she situation. The fact that she followed up on my review is proof that good customer service is a goal for her. Best of luck to her and her business.

I went here when a bolt laying on the road punctured one of my tires. They inspected the wear on my tires and sold me a replacement with similar wear, but I had them put my studded tires on, as it was still winter. At the time they seemed to be a good place, so I went back for a tire change over. They told me my summer tires had too much wear and they could not put them on, and got on their computer to find a new set to sell me! THE TIRES HAD NOT BEEN USED SINCE I BOUGHT THE REPLACEMENT FROM THEM A FEW MONTHS EARLIER!!!! If my tires all needed to be replaced, the initial visit would have been the time to tell me, but they didn’t. .... because with them it’s a money grab, and I got taken for a ride! Avoid this place at all costs!

Just alittle background I’ve worked for JTS in the past as a tire mechanic and have patched every conceivable tire that was serviceable safely. I go in for a slow leak that I informed that I had to use fix a flat, he whines and gives me a whopper of a lie that all tires that have had fix a flat are ruined and unrepairable and wants to sell me four new. I know he is lying or was lied to by a supervisor and now is giving false information. I call AMERICAN TIRE ask if this is some new rule they tell me they have NEVER heard of that and fix my tire promptly with no problems. Watch out for the line of BS. A tire that has had a temporary leak fix with fix-a-flat is repairable soon after temporary fix.

The customer service agent (woman) who answered the phone was initially nice. When I told her what I drive she couldnt determine which car was mine from her list. Honestly, it wasnt on the list. I told her what I knew and then she became irritated. She says, if u can get me the tire size I can help. Well, say that in the first place. I had all the information available.Theres never a need to get short with a consumer, and customer service agents need to recall that word of mouth is everuthing for a business. I dont like leaving negative commentary, but if it helps the next guy then fine.Not to mention their selection of tires was poor and the tire prices were much higher according to my recent research.

Terrible. These guys didnt put the hub cap on correctly, it flew off and was lost on the way home. They took a chunk out of my summer tire bead and ruined the tire. The winter tires they mounted were poorly balanced and wobbled. THEN they tried to tell me some minor cracks on the tires make them unusable... Two other tire shops looked at them and saw no problems. Totally sleazy. And its $25 more for a changeover than most other places

Horrible service! I had bought winter tires here and for a couple years had them do tire changeovers to my vehicle. One fall I went in and they told me they werent going to swap them because they were the supposed wrong size for my truck. I told them they sold them to me and they argued with me, told me I didnt. They wanted to see the receipt (which I didnt have anymore). They refused to put them on the truck and then they added that these tires I had werent a brand they carried. I adamantly told them they were the ones who sold me the tires. The guy yelled at me and called me a liar and said he would never sell this brand of tire. Do yourself a favor and go down the road a few blocks and go to Anchorage Tire Factory.

Very disappointed, customer service is terrible. I bought a set of tires from Ak Tire & Rim. The tires still have good tread on them, but one developed a slow leak. I took my truck in for the repair and informed them I purchased the tires from them. The tires come with a tread life and road hazard warranty. I was accused of not buying the tires from them and that the tires were discontinued. I was essentially being called a liar. I did in fact buy the tires from them, but did not have the sales receipt with me. Mind you, I did not ask for a FREE tire repair, only that I had a slow leak and that the tires were purchased from them. I wanted the tire repaired and the cost of the repair, if there was a charge. Well by the time they decided to bring in the truck, I was so mad. I told them to forget it and that I would not be doing business with them again. When I need new tires, they might be the same brand but they will NOT come from Ak Tire & Rim.

Didnt want my business unless i purchased a complete set of 4 tires. They know nothing about true 4wd systems being capable of handling tires up to 1% difference in height (tread depth amount) stated that tire size is super critical. (its not an AWD its a part time 4wd) Tread patterns do not need to match. (Where did they learn that) I recommend that you choose a different tire shop that truly knows cars and not just the tires sidewall specs of only 1 brand.

The only place Ill get my tires changed over. Great family owned establishment.

Ripped my girlfriend off.Claimed her bent wheels punctured the tire when she only needed new wheels.She said she was going to shop around they told her that they already started.Wouldnt let her see the punctured tires (they were already thrown away).They also charged her way more than other places would.This place is shady and pushy. They take advantage of people.

Bought my tires there. A month later a screw was ran over and took it there for repair. Charged me not a damn thing. Recommended.

They advertise doing wheel alignment, but when you call to schedule one, they say they dont do alignments. False advertising! It should be deleted!

Great place to get tires .

I needed a used tire that matched exactly the OEM 17 rubber on my Traverse. I wanted a used one with a couple years of wear on it to match the other tires, since AWD systems can be finicky about tire diameter. Lol and behold! They had exactly what I was looking for at a reasonable price and had it mounted and balanced in a jiffy.

As a woman going into an auto shop, Im always afraid of getting swindled.Alaska Tire & Rim proved that my fears were justified...This morning I went in to see if they were able to check out my rims as they were slightly (and I mean SLIGHTLY) bent from going over a pothole.After an initial 15 minutes of waiting, they come back out to tell me that my tires AND rims have to be replaced. The manager then quickly babbled out the prices and fees.When I started to object and explain that I was on my break and I didnt have time to do it today, he said they had already taken my tires off.Not only did they pressure me into changing my tires and rims- they didnt give me an option of seeing WHY I would need to change them out; because they threw away my tires before I could check for myself.I went in with expectations of getting an honest opinion on what they thought I should do.What I got was a costly and unacceptable service.

Thats why I called with all the specs and dimentions, make and model.Just tell me if you have rims that fit and how much or at least rims that you think will work.And...dont ask me to wait on hold while you answer another phone call after me.
