The service department applied a protective coating to the outside of the car, which I had bought a few days before. They said it would take an hour and a half but it took about an hour. After that was done the sales person, Chris Will, showed me how to connect my phone to the car. Great service.

Had appointment to have a new key cut on August 6. After almost two hours was told that my key was ready. I paid and went to the car only to discover the buttons on the new key would not open the doors.Was told a new key would be ordered and that I would be called as soon as it came in. I did not receive a call, so I called back August 13. My Service Advisor, Jonathan Ballar told me that my paperwork had made its way upstairs without him having a chance to write down my phone number. Thus, no call.On August 14 my new key was cut with success.Hopefully this was a learning experience. Why couldnt the tech who tried to program my new key on August 6 recognize that the work did not succeed? Why didnt he actually take the key to the car and try it out? Why couldnt Jonathan retrieve my phone number from upstairs?I am pleased to report that at the end of my second trip to Honda that Jonathan did go out with me and demonstrate that the key did function properly. I like Jonathan and think he is a good man.

Amongst the dealer and service awards displayed around the building, is dusty furniture, out of date magazines, a kids room with just chairs, and a waiting room adjacent to employee desks where you can hear all calls with customers, and workplace conversations. Simply put, it is far from a pleasant experience waiting for service here.

I got my oil changed here and my tires rotated! Very easy to make my appointment online, got my car in right away and then got done in less then an hour. Only thing that surprised me was it costed more than it does at my normal Honda dealership back home for the work done. But very satisfied with the work they did!

My wife and I were half way into our weekend get-away trip when our Accord began running rough just after leaving a rest are north of Des Moines, IA. So, I got on my phone and looked up the nearest Honda service center and located one in Ames just down the road. We pulled in at around 9:30, it was on a Thursday morning. There was a very polite and professional gentleman working the service desk who empathised with our situation and talked to his garage mechanics and was able to fit us in to have it looked at. Shortly thereafter, we were given options and we chose to get the immediate fix. We had a spark plug replaced in #3 cylinder and we were able to continue on our journey northward. Thanks to your Ames service center and their efficiency, we were back on the road 1 1/2 hrs.later. My family awaiting our arrival in northern Minnesota couldnt believe how lucky we were getting in and out so quickly. Yes, we were able to arrive safely to our destination that evening as well as had no further incident on our trip. THANK YOU HONDA SERVICE CENTER OF AMES for such GREAT service!! I wish you were 5 hours closer so that I could keep you as our Honda service provider.Sincerely,Bryan SchmitA very pleased customer!P.S. Ive been taking my vehicle here since purchased from original owner of my vehicle. I was quoted for it to be done at a certain time and I was waiting for almost an hour past. I was then also charged for the wrong service and given the wrong service. They claimed the synthetic oil blend and full synthetic were the same cost and I dont believe that to be true. Im giving them one more chance to right their wrong. Otherwise Ill take my business elsewhere.

Got a part replacement... Estimated 2.5 labor hours @140 per hour... Took 1.5 hours..Still charged for 2.5....Service guy said he would give me free oil change.... When I picked up vehicle after repair.... Guy was at lunch.... Full price plus oil change charge..... Something went wrong on promises made.

Took car in for routine 15000 service Bought a new Pilot and happy with the car and Jerry sales rep. But very disapointed that spending $3900. for a protection plan there is no information that tells me exactly what i paid for.Nor can i find an on line connection to explain the program in full. There should be a document that explains the program in full how to use it and what all is covered. Otherwise it comes off as a dealer rip off. for that kind of money a customer deserves a document to refer to in the future.Not a good situation. Second car i have purchased here and otherwise a happy customer

This is where I get all of my Honda service done, so when my battery started to growl before starting I made an appt, they replaced my battery at no charge. The replaced battery was still under warranty, I had no idea..but grateful. I am that little old lady who runs to Honda for the smallest issues, they are always patient and understanding, I am very satisfied with their service.

I saw your listing for a new 2020 Honda Pilot LX on Cars.com competitively priced with used models at other dealers. I sent an inquiry through the website and was contacted by Jerry within a few minutes of the dealership opening for the day. Jerry and I worked on finalizing the purchase via text throughout the day. I needed the factory trailer hitch and wiring harness installed. And I wanted to pickup the Pilot in 3 days. Purchasing from Honda of Ames required a certain amount of trust on my part because, being from Kansas City, would require me to rent and drop off a rental car in Ames then purchase and drive the Pilot home. When I arrived to pick up the car and finalize the transaction everything we agreed to was managed perfectly, i.e., 1) the price was the price no added fees, 2) the trailer hitch and wiring harness was installed, 3) the Pilot was everything Jerry said 13 miles on the odometer when I test drove it and 4) Jerry was there to help me through the process and show me how to use the blue tooth, adaptive cruise control, lane warning, etc. I drove the Pilot home and its the perfect vehicle for my wife and I. Thanks Jerry and Honda of Ames for a great car buying experience!

The service advisor was great but the interior of the dealership was a mess. There were numerous trash cans that were overflowing with trash both in the waiting area and the womens restroom. The womens restroom was also out of soap. I just expect more from that dealership.

You know, the shop does a very good job but this polling service is just inept. I have reviewed this appointment three times and still keep getting reminders. I will not respond to another email request.The service is excellent, got my tires rotated and oil changed in under half an hour. I called them mid afternoon and they got me in at 8:00 AM the following morning.This time I brought my car in to have a recall service performed. As usual, professional and quick.

The break pads of my car need replacement. The reception person told me the examination fee will be counted in the repair fee and it will cost about $300 in total for the replacement of rear pair. However, when I saw the bill, it was more than $500. They told me it include some other fees but didnt told me in advance. Although I accepted it, I felt somehow disappointed at the overall process. Anyway, the service is great and waiting time is as expected.

Took my 2016 Honda Odyssey to be looked at in relation to an acting up transmission. Honda has a service bulletin on this (17-043) and I informed the dealer I was asking them to look at it in relation to this. This is a warranty item and my van is still in the warranty period. I was quite shocked when they called me back to tell me the repair would be more than $700. Again, this should be a warranty item. I declined their offer, paid around $90 for the diagnosis (did I say this should have been a warranty item?) and did the repair specified in the bulletin myself. Took about 60 minutes and around $60 in supplies. I do not recommend Honda of Ames.

Waited for over an hour in the lobby for them to tell me they couldnt diagnosis my car, referred me to a different service center thats is even more expensive than they are. Didnt know what they were checking on the car, had to apologize and go back to the car because the wrong thing was written on the service ticket. Overall dissatisfied with the service Ive gotten here, they dont know what they are doing.

My 2017 Ridgeline had the check engine light come on with a message that there was an emission system problem. Ames Honda got me right in and diagnosed the problem. My fuel injectors were failing and Honda had extended the warranty to cover the repair. The following day they had the parts and repaired my truck at no cost to me. Great work! Thanks Ames Honda!
