Other reviewers have stated that Cornelsen charged a good price. However, that was not my experience. He performed one service on my my car, and gave me an estimate to perform another service. Both of those services were priced approximately 30% higher than other auto shops in Amarillo. I will not be returning to this place.

David and his wife were amazing to deal with! I had come into to town to visit my husband on Memorial Day weekend. On my way down to TX my AC stopped blowing cold air. I was stressed all weekend hoping to find a mechanic that would be honest, fair and not take advantage of my desperate situation. I had to get back on the road the day after Memorial and that was the soonest any shop was open. I checked out reviews and this was the only place that had ALL good reviews.Well they lived up to the hype. Not only did they get me in first thing but prioritized my job so I could get back on the road for my 13hr. drive. They explained to me exactly what was going on with my car and gave me my options. It was such a relief to find and work with such great people. They are honest, fair, and do their best to help you out. So grateful I came here. If you’re passing through or a resident of Amarillo, I highly recommend this local shop for all of your automotive needs.

Brought my old Ford Ranger for a diagnostic. I suspected the engine was bad from age (I estimated about 300,000 miles). The guy didnt try to sell me anything and was honest and frank. 67 dollars later my old faithful truck became a father and son project.

They performed services under a NAPA nationwide warranty program and collaborated with my hometown mechanic in order to arrive at the most complete diagnosis and treatment of my vehicle. The compassionate and reassuring communication, commitment to keeping their word regarding the time, date, estimate of service expectations were exemplary. I truly feel blessed to have been treated with such dignity, honesty and respect!

I had concerns about the brakes on my Toyota van that is 9 years old. I’m fixing to be traveling with grandchildren over a large number of miles. I took my van in for a check, expecting to be told I need hundreds of dollars of repair work like the last time I went to a nationwide brake franchise. Instead the brakes were checked and I was told that my brakes were working fine and would be for many miles to come. I was charged nothing for their time time and expertise. I felt greatly relieved on several levels but also grateful for what appeared to be honesty and integrity in the workplace. I will be going back if a mechanic is in my future.

Great shop! Had an emergency breakdown in Amarillo and they got right on it and repaired within 30 minutes. Very lucky it was a quick, simple fix. Very honest, reasonable & responsive shop.

Very easy to work with!! Dropped my Acadia off to get the air conditioner fixed and brake pads checked. He was honest with me and said my brakes were safe (after a first business told me I was at 1% on my brake pads). And when I dropped my car off my tire light was flashing over a low tire, he also fixed that without charging me or telling me he did it for me!! He also had my car in and out on the same day at a fair price!! And its been a week and my air conditioner is still ice cold!! I highly recommend this business!!! Great job guys!!!

We were traveling with horses and overnighted just south of Amarillo. The electric hook up at the horse motel was wired improperly wired and when we plugged in it tripped our trailer breakers and fried our truck’s alternator. We found Cornelsen’s shop in line and we’re waiting in their parking lot, horse’s in-tow, when the shop opened for the morning. The shop was great, got us fixed and back on the road fast. The horses and we really appreciated the fast courteous service.

I have used this shop twice and both times my experience was great!(Once for a/c & the other for brakes) David is very thorough when explaining repairs. Both times the repairs were completed in the same day. Prices were fair each time. This is definitely my shop of choice in Amarillo!

I am a recent customer of Cornelson Automotive and a decent Do it yourselfer/ mechanic with machine shop and body shop experience. So I do know cars but these guys are in a different league.I first brought them a classic 1969 Chevelle with an exhaust leak and they were able to repair instead of replace which saved me several hundred dollars.The initial estimate was around $600.00 to $700 but I was only charged $137 and it was ready the within a couple of hours.Then I brought them my 2007 Dodge Ram in bad need of brake job. They did a great job and replaced the two front rotors which were too thin to reuse and put ceramic pads on the front...they checked the rear brakes as well and found them to be good to go for several more years. The price was very reasonable and was much less expensive than previous trips to Meinike @$500.00 for less parts and longer time in shop.These guys are knowledgeable friendly fast and affordable!Billy Reed
