Newly remodeled store in Alexandria is very pleasant. This remodel has been long awaited. As is usual for any Moms Organic Market, the produce is first rate and always well displayed, fresh and best of all, very clean. This is my favorite place to shop for food. Just as a note, many items here are actually less expensive than at Whole Foods Markets.

Came here on Saturday during grand reopening day. Really busy but that didnt affect their great customer service. 9 out of 10 people were wonderful. They all went above and beyond despite they were tired and stress. You can see it on their face. The vendor there were pleasant and sweet. The reason for only 4 out of 5 stars is this trip is my first time so I dont know how it is later. Ill adjust the stars when I come at least 3 or 4 times :-) there are plenty of parking space in the back. The entrance we went in was in the back. They have beer there. Great recycling systems. Confusing but once you know whay they are, its really nice. Definitely will be back.

You go in and any worries about what the ingredients are in the food youre buying - they fade away. One of my favorite things they offer is the purified water. Refills are cheap and quick. I also enjoy the biodegradable produce bags they have on hand and the products they offer such as plant based sandwich bags that feel like silky plastic. Oh and bamboo toilet tissue!

Eaten here on several occasions and each time has been great! The food is delicious and (pretty) healthy and the portions are generous. The prices are fair too. I highly recommend the tacos - they are yummy! Service has always been attentive. The wooden tables however are in desperate need of a clean, but other than that, this is a great option for a quick bite or take-out.

Love this place.Carries a large assortment of high-quality organic items and, has a cafe (called Naked Lunch) with absolutely delicious meal offerings, made fresh on-site (huge portions). The store carries a good selection of plant based / vegan and allergen friendly food, especially relative to the other grocery store in the area.Highly recommend shifting your shopping to Mom’s.Actually rating it 4.5 stars since it carries flesh but, applaud their commitment to creating a welcoming environment filled with high quality food.

I worked here for 2 years. I was written up on my birthday for being 15min late stuck in rush hour traffic at 8am... 1 year later this write up is still active and counted against me. I only missed 2 days in the two years I worked here and the GM, Howard, was really upset and disappointed instead of showing gratitude and thankfulness of such a high attendance rate. 7 times I came to work and found management changed my schedule with out informing me and I was happy to work last minute as they wanted or come back to work a later shift BUT the first time I make a mistake (after 2yrs) on my schedule I am written up with out any consideration. I was always happy to stay later and help out whenever they needed or switch shifts if I was able. I worked in 3 different sections of the store. There is an unkown write up against me 10 months ago that management and HR couldnt find and they dont know what its for which is also still active and counted against me! The first time I worked for this GM, Howard, he wrote me up for pressing the wrong tender on the cash register when I was learning the register because it was a performance issue. This is the worst GM Ive ever worked for. Numerous coworkers have also had similar experiences. It took 2 1/2 yrs of working for Moms Full Time with a nearly perfect attendance to get a 50cent raise. So with great sadness I was not appreciated and I had to quit.

Needs to put pricing that includes per ounce or break down unit prices. All other grocery markets do that.Moms prices arent always competitive. Whole Foods and ordinary markets like Safeway and Giant sell 1 pound/16 ounce boxes of mixed salad greens for the same price as Moms but Moms boxes are only 11 ounces. Thats about a 30% premium. That said, Moms reliably sells good stuff and I shop there regularly and recommend the store.

This store was such a delight. I loved the selection, the layout and -- especially - the PARKING! The cashiers were kind and didnt flinch (or even stop smiling) when my debit card wouldnt go through and they had to wait while I tried to work that out. And Lisa, just a tiny little thing, picked up my two HEAVY bags like they were nothing and carried them out for me. I had to ask her name so I could write this review. I was having a bad day but then I went to Moms...they were all so nice it almost makes me cry.

I shopped at Moms for the first time today (I usually shop at Whole Foods). All I can say is that Im so glad I made the trip to Moms! It reminded me so much of my food co-op back in Michigan - only better! The selection was amazing, the people were incredibly helpful and friendly, and the prices were better than Whole Foods. I especially appreciate how their holistic/sustainable philosophy extends well beyond the products they carry into their overall store operations (wind power, green benefits to employees, LED lighting, composting, energy conscious, etc) Im switching to Moms for the bulk of my grocery shopping from now on. What a great place. :)

Also had an aisle of dead animal which was organic. Also had a restaurant inside naked lunch, had the cauliflower steak based on the young ladys recommendation and DAYYYUM it was good. I have visited this location maybe several times for the past month or two. Its not one of the larger, nicer looking stores like Im used to but carries the products I typically buy just the same. In the past week I have begun avoiding this location since one particular woman who works there has consistently been unwelcoming towards me for whatever strange reason but nice to other customers. I have been opting to visit the location in Arlington as much as possible instead. I figured this was an anomaly since my usual experience at any Moms has always been pleasant but Id just rather not deal with other peoples baggage while trying to make it through a simple transaction.Unfortunately, I visited today only because it was closest to me and I only needed a few items. At checkout, I had another slightly negative experience this time with a different associate who seemed to be a bit moody and aloof. I watched as he talked somewhat condescendingly to the lady he checked out before me and proceeded to do the same with me. He charged me twice for the same item and I had to be referred to customer service to get a refund. He did apologize multiple times for the mistake at least. The saving grace at this store is one woman who works there who is always extremely helpful and friendly and she helped me get a refund with no fuss. Im sorry I never got her name.I was also surprised to find out one of the products I bought actually had carrageenan in it. I thought Moms absolutely did not sell products that contained chemicals like that and it had been a relief to not have to fret about the ingredients as much as I have at other chains because they seemed to be so selective. It was a hazelnut milk product from a brand called Pacific sitting on a special rack along the length of the back wall with other similar products. I havent seen those series of products at other locations so it might just be this one. Thankfully I noticed as soon as I got in my car and had only taken one sip. I went right back in and the same lady let me do an easy exchange for another product again with the same helpful attitude.

The service at MOMs in Alexandria is nothing short of OUTSTANDING. Unlike the Whole Foods Market or what I refer to as the Whole paycheck, this market makes me feel right at home! Just yesterday, as I waited to fill my water, I noticed that the grocer, whos name is Mr. Bobby was passing on to a shopper information about an elderly lady in the neighborhood who shops at MOMs. The lady in question is apparently sick and shut in - unable to get her groceries or do the shopping. She left a message for another shopper to stop by. I was amazed at the amount of concern for her. My wife voluntarily delivers meals to the sick and shut-in. At the time she has a broken arm but she still goes out to do this work. I was PLEASED to say the least, that their conversation showed me that taking care of and looking out for one another is something that people at MOMs think of on a daily basis - its the norm and I am proud to be a part of!

After all the years I have shopped at this Moms location, I was so excited they were finally able to expand it--until todays experience. I went to return a bottle of Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera juice (which I tried so hard to stick with, but it was just so awful, I finally said I had to bring it back--and I hate returning things, so for me to bring it back took a lot). I spoke with the pink-haired lady (she was not wearing a nametag) at the customer service desk, let her know I did not have a receipt, but asked couldnt she look it up in my purchase record on my credit card. She told me she could NOT, and then went to ask for approval from the wellness department (whoever that is) to provide the refund. She came back and said that unfortunately, because there was no receipt and a good amount of the bottle was missing, they would not process the refund. I told her the only reason some was missing was because I kept trying to mix it with different juices, kept trying to make it work, but it was just too awful. This was basically her telling me that they dont believe I bought the product there! I literally have spent thousands of dollars at this store (who can walk out of there without dropping at least $300?) and after all of that money spent, to have them deny a credit of a $27 item (a very small amount to them, large to me) is unacceptable. I asked to see the manager. The pink-haired woman went and retrieved Dan (on his nametag), and explained the situation to him (out of my earshot). When he approached me, he asked Do you have a question? (seriously?! Do I have a question?) I replied, no, I dont have a question, did she explain to you what is going on? He then went into how they could not give a refund, but then said he could look the charge up with my credit card. (Which is what the pink-haired lady should have done first thing!) Long story short, he did make the effort, find the charge in my purchase record, and I was able to get the refund, but that was after 30 minutes of misery, standing at the customer services desk (30 min from the start of the conversation with the pink haired lady, waiting for her to get approval, which was denied). By this time, I am so disappointed, this whole thing having turned into such a moment of misery. Hope that $27 bottle of aloe vera juice was worth a loyal customer, MOMs. I have been meaning to go to the Farmers Markets more, anyway. And anything else I need, I can get through Amazon.
