Completely average gelato experience. They only had a couple flavors to choose from when we visited, and we had to return the small coffee espresso flavor that we bought because it was filled with ice crystals. The other flavors were okay, but definitely nothing to write home about and definitely not worth the premium price that they are charging compared to other gelato places. If youre in the area and wanting something cold and sweet, its okay, but I wouldnt go out of my way to visit this location.

Great service. Location is at the heart of Old Town. Ambiance was great at the patio in the garden was amazing. I got the Affogato with hazelnut and it was amazing. Will come again

Not bad. Definitely miss Italian prices ($1.20 a scoop). But if you looking for a Gelato fix, this place is pretty close.

We came here on a crazy hot Sunday. I tried the oat milk latte and mint-chocolate, hazelnut gelato. It was definitely the best coffee I’ve ever had and the gelato was really good. They have very nice and quiet sitting area. Employees are super friendly too! Definitely recommend this cozy place.

Great place for relaxing good coffee and ice cream

This is my second visit - good coffee in a local environment and not a chain!I have met some friends here for coffee and their coffee is good, my latte today was nice and hot!Last visit, my wife tried their gelato and said it was good as well. See pics.On my visit today, about half of the people inside the shop (many who seem to be regulars catching up and waiting for the three guys behind the counter to crank out their orders) were mask- optional, which surprised me.I may have to return later and try the gelato myself.

Lovely staff, as always. Though it was too early (in my mind on this visit) for gelato, they have a ton of tasty flavor options. Pastries are tasty.

A very nice, relaxing environment with consistent food and coffee. It’s a quiet place that welcomes dogs, so that’s always a plus. We went a few times over a weekend and they were always quick to serve and their pastries were awesome. The staff was very respectful and on top of orders. Would definitely recommend vs going to a chain coffee shop.

Delicious gelato for sure. Dolci Gelati has a nice selection of gelato to choose from. The service is quick and friendly. You are greeted warmly when you walk in the door. If your Old Town Alexandria, I would highly recommend you give them a try.

One might consider removing Gelati from the title. Its 8:30 on a beautiful Saturday night in Old Town, ALX. The area is bumping but this place is a sore spot. The gelato case at Dolci Gelato is basically empty. I drove over here for dessert after dinner from a different restaurant. What a complete disappointment.

We had a really good experience with this gelato and coffee shop while in Alexandria. We stopped here more than once, and it was never busy or chaotic. The service is friendly and prompt, and the quality of their products is very good, with reasonable prices. The Alexandria Fog is an especially good drink. I would come here all the time if I were local

Great spot for some delicious gelato! They have great flavors with lots of options. There is plenty of seating options perfect for hanging out and enjoying gelato.

CDC guidance now recommends masks indoors in cities with substantial spread, including Alexandria. Guess Dolci didn’t get the memo.

Pistachio tasted like McDonalad’s hand soup. Terrible! Absolutely artificially flavored. Bananas fosters, however, was great!

Ive been here a few times and the have excellent gelato. This time I actually got a gelato and cold brew coffee. I got the coconut gelato to go with their cold brew. Staff is friendly and despite the somewhat small store they have a good space in the back for sitting, though we took ours on the go.

Our last visit was disappointing. They were out of several flavors and when we asked if they were going to replenish they said we would need to wait until they could scoop it. When we asked why they had not already done that since the flavors had been out for sometime they just shrugged their shoulders. The staff were all rude and obviously did not give a d**m. Very unlike past visits. Before we were even served another staff demanded to know what we were getting so she could ring us up. Bizarre. Wont be going back if the attitude and poor service continues.

This is the best sorbetto Ive had in my life! Staff was knowledgeable about ingredients, and the sorbetto is both GF and dairy free. I had strawberry-lavender and lemongrass-mango together and it was a delight. The plaza across the street with the fountains was a great outdoor space to enjoy our dessert.

The customer service was a terrible disappointment. I would recommend going elsewhere.

Looked for Affogato, someplace else. Dolci new what I was looking for. Yes, an exotic & exiting kick of caffeine and ice cream making Lov ‘ to your tastebuds😉

What an awesome find! Randomly stopped in here one night with my family and we were overwhelmed with flavor options. The folks behind the counter were so friendly and happy to give us some of the gelato backstories so everyone could make a decision. My father went back for seconds, the award winning candied lemon peel gelato was so good.This business got its start in 2006 with flavors like Thai Coconut Lemongrass. But if youre more on the traditional side dont worry, theyve got that too. 🙂The Old Town location is pooch friendly, with dog biscuits at the front counter. Its also community friendly, with a board on the wall that shares local business, classes, and events!Highly recommend!

Come to SoCal please!I first tried their Lemon flavor back at my cousins house and I thought it was so good. I knew I had to come by to try their other flavors and see if they were just as good - they were! Makes sense as we overheard the workers say the owner is the gelato ambassador for the area.We got a small ($5), which allows two scoops, so we each chose a flavor. They allowed samples, so of course I had to take advantage of this and see which was best. I got to try Vanilla Bean, Birthday Cake, and Peanut Butter Cup. I wanted to try them all, but I feel like three samples is the max before I feel like workers might get annoyed. Of those three, I liked the Peanut Butter Cup the most as it had a great peanut butter flavor mixed with chocolate in each bite.My cousin got the Stracciatella and that was just as good if not better. After looking it up, it makes sense why its so good as its vanilla ice cream with fine flakes of chocolate. Like who doesnt love a good vanilla ice cream?If I could, I would go there again, but seems like they are only available on the East Coast.IG: jkfoodaddie

Much more than just gelato this is a great coffee shop with really good pastries. Very comfortable socially distanced indoor seating and really good service from a young and enthusiastic staff. Even though they serve amazing looking gelato, which I did not try, I would consider this much more a great coffee shop. I hate to criticize the name of a business, but I would suggest they rename themselves Dolci Gelati and Coffee Shop, because when one searches Google maps for coffee shops in Alexandria, this does come up in the search results however I never bothered to go there because it did not sound like a coffee shop. Now that I have discovered this place I will definitely be back.

Stopped in at Dolci Gelati to grab a coffee on a chilly morning in March. Such a friendly and welcoming place and the coffee perfectly hit the spot.

Friendly staff ik a really nice place. I really liked that this place is pet friendly with a cool patio to spend time with your four legged friends. Simple menu but you cant never go wrong with Italian Ice cream.

This place is awesome! My family and I enjoyed the various flavor options. The gelato was delicious! They practiced social distancing and mask-wearing. It is located less than a half mile from Founders Park.

My partner and I randomly drove to Alexandria to see Old Town and we saw this cute place. We decided to have a gelato which is good. We bought some pastry to take home. Nice costumer service. We will definitely come back for a coffee.

Grear little coffee and gelato shop! If youre around the area make sure to check them out and try their mango and cranberry -orange gelato as well as the affogato. The coffee was nice and strong very delicious. The girls attending to the shop were really cool and helpful. I definitely recommend it.

$6 for a terrible Rodeo sandwich. Bacon was completely burned! I left everything out of sandwich and I saw how the egg exploded in the microwave with a five day old bacon. Stay away from this awful place. The kids at counter were so cool about serving such awful food.

Amazing gelati. We had mint chip, honey+fig, butter pecan, and one other flavor I forget. Staff were kind. Place was warm, not too busy at night. Coffee was good. A little pricey, but to be expected for the location.

Espresso was perfect! smooth and flavorful.Gelato was great. It was just like being back in Italy.The patio out back is a great oasis from the busier streets outside, it’s a flat path out there so easy for strollers to get to.

It is a good place to have an Italian gelato. I asked about the passion fruit flavor and it was GLUTEN FREE, and I am not sure of other flavors. It was nurturing and tasty. I was confused between this place Dolci Gelati and another place callee Dolcezza Gelato and coffee. I discovered that they are different lol.

This gelato is legit. Sorry I dont have a picture- I inhaled it! I got the tiramisu and mocha and the bf got toasted coconut. All three were super creamy without being overly sweet. Prices werent bad. $5 for a single, $7 for a double. Staff was nice. They had tons of flavors. They also sell coffee which smelled amazing. Their sandwiches sounded good as well. Definitely going back and would definitely recommend it!!

A good place to get gelato in Old Town Alexandria. They offer unique and rotating flavors. They have small sitting areas both indoors and outdoors if you want to eat your gelato on site. Friendly customer service. I would definitely recommend especially if youre walking Old Town Alexandria. Its not too far from the Potomac River and King st.

Best coffee shop near market square. They have great prices too. For those who cannot do regular milk, they make a killer almond milk latte (Iced or hot). The really cool feature is the hidden back patio behind the shop.

Americano had way too much water. Tasted awful.They didnt know the name of the bakery where their baked goods came from. Chocolate croissant was so yummy though! Wish I knew which bakery.Backyard patio is beautiful.

Took some visitors to Dolci Gelati in Old Town this past weekend and it was a hit!!! We are OLD and all three of us said it was the best bought ice cream we had ever eaten. And we have eaten a lot. 225 years of eating ice cream between us. Ummmm. Ive tried the other ice cream shops in Old Town but was not impressed. I loved the fig ice cream. Cant wait to go back.

We stop here every time we want ice cream in old Town. Have to try the black and white got chocolate! Staff is great and the small interior gives it a cozy feeling. 5 stars from me!

Their coffee is good and they have many delicious flavors of gelato. The unique thing about this place is that they have a copy of the wall Street journal for customers to read.If youre going on a Saturday morning (until 12:30 for the Farmers market), there is free parking across the street in the city parking garage.

They know how to make espresso _right._ Their gelato is wonderful and they’re sweet to my (small) kids, who are sloooowly learning to behave themselves in public. We come every every week and miss it terribly when we don’t!

This place is great. Everytime we come to Old Towne we stop here. Great sandwiches, drinks and gelato. They also have some very unique things like espresso over gelato and tea from almond milk.

I love this place! The espresso and latte are amazing. Rich and robust. Gelato is worthy of Venice! Hot weather or cold, stop here when you are on Kings street.

Really lovely sorbet, fresh flavor and nicely balanced sweetness. They were super gracious to bring the sorbet out early so I could cool down after a very hot long run. How nice!

Good place to stop by for gelato. Several standard flavors to choose from, very similar to the flavors they offer in Italy. Nice clean interior, and a nice resting place after walking around downtown.

I really enjoy taking a coffee break here during work. The Americanos are delicious. I have yet to try any of the Gelato or the baked goods but they look delicious. Service here is friendly and fast. I really enjoy this spot.
