There like my family and I love em!!! There the best no doubt
Not open closed drove 2 hours wast of time would be nice to know they are closed
Only doing the single star to inform folks this place is completely shut down, has been closed for a while
Had a great experience, needed a cylinder repaired it was done in 1hr vs sitting 3 WEEKS AT LUJANS MOTORCYCLE.Thanks 👍
I will never recommend anywhere else to work on a bike. Even when things may not go right these guys are the most standup guys in the state. They will be honest and upfront. Not beat around the bush. This is how a business should be ran. Even if they may be crazy busy they do their best to communicate. Best experience so far. Bravo
Closed down! No longer there!
Just finished restoring a 1974 Honda CB-450. Couldnt have done it without the help and support of the entire crew at Southwest Cycles. They are great to work with and almost an exclusive location for hard to find vintage parts.
I was there yesterday looking for parts on my 1969 ct70 had a few problems at first getting across what I wanted. I have a brain injury. and have some problems when I get nervous. thats when a women from the office stepped out. What an amazing women Theresa was her name. so we talked and she had a few suggestions. and said let me go talk to Carl . I had heard the name before but Carl is like the guy behind the fence on Tim Allens the toolman, she said that Carl was going to look for what i needed over the weekend. Thank you Theresa. now i dont know if they will come thru with what i need. but i trust she will do her best and thats all she can Carl can do.
The Only Place In Town Worthy of Being Recognized Excellent Service, Great Products, and Who Dont Love A Salvage Yard ?! Matter Of Fact, Ill Be There This Week For My New Project . Honda cb550 frame
Frustrating that I called and asked about scooter parts and was told you had some - and could order others. I went there need a list of parts, from air filter/intake to exhaust, wiring harness, headlight Harness/socket and when I asked if you had any of them I was told no, nothing like that, what so ever. I tried to explain I was looking at some of the parts in the yard and some of the parts aren’t specific to a scooter but could be found on various different motorcycles. I was just told again sorry nothing like that. It was confusing and baffling - I had $100 in my pocket and would of gladly spent it on the parts I saw by only being there for minutes. Weird .
Taking my bike to Southwest Cycles Inc was a great experience. Their website and business cards say that they work on older bikes but I took in my 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 and they were able to do all the work I needed. Very talented and knowledgeable staff. I had to have my front tire replaced and a Allan bolt that had been stripped on the left side of my bike pulled out and replaced. They sent me to a place in town that had my tire for a better price then somewhere online and when I brought it back they had the bike done by the end of the day. All of the work was done in a couple hours and the price that I paid compared to the price that a dealership would have charged me was a fraction of the cost. Overall great experience. Support your local businesses.
These guys do an excellent job finding good deals on expensive parts, and their work (for me, at least) has been excellent. Any time Ive had trouble with my bike, theyve bent over backwards to help me out. Definitely recommend these guys. They do charge a bit more for labor than R&S West, but they work a ton faster, so if your goal is to get back on your bike as soon as possible, these are the guys to talk to. Excellent customer service every time Ive gone in.
This business is permenantely closed and is for sale. When I did go there 3 years ago they had an attitude.
Very knowledgeable on the subject of old pre unit triumph motorcycle. 5* lots of good stuff
Very great costumer service. Called a few places before them and they were by far the best price. We took our Honda trx and it runs perfect again.! While we were there they let us test drive a Polaris that we didnt get but it was very nice. Would definitely recommend!
Southwest Cycles Inc. Is Awesome. I dropped off my scooter on Tuesday and picked the scooter up on Wednesday. The lady at the front desk was so kind and as a customer I felt very welcomed. I totally recommend Southwest Cycles Inc. to anyone who has issues with their scooter. I will definitely be bringing my scooter back for any issues. Great place of business.
Got a sweet deal. Drove 288 miles to look around their salvage yard. Worth it.
Very friendly, very helpful. Very knowledgeable.......working on my bike right now!.....and will be working on any other bike that I get in the future. My go to place
Southwest cycles has helped me on many occasions. They are very knowledgeable about many different types of motorcycles and atvs. I will definitely be back they provide a great service.
Do you have some good parts there for motorcycles
Working on a custom project. Prices and customer service have been great. Highly recommend this business.
They dont have standard prices. They compare to factory prices for used partsIf I wanted to pay the price for a new product then I will just buy a new part that comes with a warranty.Great job on losing a customer. N I ride with two groups in new Mexico. I will tell them this junkyard thinks they own a monopoly.
They SEEMED like they wanted my business when I inquired about some parts off an old worn out dirt bike they had rotting in the yard...told me theyd sell me the whole bike REALLY cheap so I could take whatever I wanted from it...then quoted me a price that was DOUBLE what I paid for my existing bike which is in FAR better condition. When I debated with the guy that I had no idea what kind of shape his PARTS bike was in or if the parts were even usable he told me were in business to make money...while I get that...at least offer your customers a reason to shop with you. Keep your junk and let it rot.
Excellent motorcycle repair shop that specializes in British and Japanese machines, they fix just about anything there. They can also order many parts from their suppliers that are hard to find. A+ in my book
Repaired my clutch cable while I waited. Got me back on the road the same day, rather than waiting several days for an online order to come in. After a couple of months, it need to be shortened slightly to allow for proper adjustment and they fixed it on the bike while I waited at no charge.Cost more than say a motion pro cable, but since my bike is my only transport, the speedy service was worth the extra money.
Well I dropped off my buggy Southwest Cycle Inc. seemed like are interested but got a week and see will keep everyone posted. Picked up buggy running great all in all awesome work!!!!!
Great.place when when you used up.all your skills they will always bail.you out very knowledgeable people
I took my bike there and this is what happened:1) 3 months they didnt work on my bike cause technician went out of town for a week2) they didnt tell me what was the problem on my bike3) they charged my like they worked on my bike, but didnt figure out what the problem was4) they charged my for storage (completely understandable because I was out of town) extra days. I went over there and they were closed on Monday because some reasons, they told me it wasnt their problem and still charged me that day.6) they told me my bike needs some parts, when I actually bought them before took it there because I knew those parts were already broken7)Also my friend took his bike there ( I didnt listen) and they couldnt figure out what was wrong with it, they told him it was the fuse and when they replaced it, my friend paid 60 bucks. Also they didnt figure out the real problem ( bearing).Ill never take anything there, and its up to you if you take your bike there. you can get lucky and have your lawn mower fixed over there (in 6 months).
Excellent service on our 1970 BSA Victor Special 441. NM is lucky to have Southwest Cycles, Carl N. and his family in ABQ. Got a “CLASSIC” bike? Need some help? Then, this is go to place for you.
The people who run Southwest Cycles are the rudest jerks I have ever met. Like most salvage/junk yards, they have crap, and they want outrageous prices for that crap. They are rude, inconsiderate, they wont under any circumstances let you into the yard for liability reasons. I would never recommend them. I went there to find a clutch cable for my motorcycle, and they said we can make the cable you need for $40, I thought Great!, but I didnt have the original with me, (needed to make the new cable). So I asked if I could just buy the parts from them. They said Sure, for $100. What? That doesnt make any sense. I said Cant I just go look through the yard, and when I find what I need, Ill let you know? They said no way. Well, they have lost my business forever, and everyone I know.
Super great mechanics. Gets it done with great time
If you need a unique throttle/choke cable you will get what you need at this place. Also a great place to find used motorcycle partsI recommend this place
They got my quad back but took some time to get a diagnosis, which I found out was due to closing the doors .. thanks for the work you did for us
Please save yourself the hassle of dealing with these people for motorcycle repairs! Honestly don’t know how they are in business! They are liars and ripoffs! I’d strongly advise you to take your bikes somewhere else!
Whats not to love at a salvage yard for motorcycles. Seeing all those old motorcycles in various states of disrepair brought back a lot of fond memories. I grew up around early Albuquerque when great mechanics could be found at your local JC Penny, Montgomery Wards, or Sears. My father was such a mechanic and he helped many people on his days off for nothing more than a six pack of beer. This meant a lot of trips to Albuquerques many salvage yards -- called junk yards back then. What fun we had at each one. Good times. If you need a part for your motorcycle, give them a call or stop by.
Quick fast service. We had a blowout in a bike close by. Pushed it over there and was back on the road in under 45 minutes.
These people seem to have no idea how customer service works. They really need to learn how to talk to their customers. Ill rather pay more money at a more perfessional business
I called a few weeks ago about getting an ignition switch installed on my motorcycle and they said they would do it for $112 (plus $45 to tow it) all I would need is the part. A few weeks later the part came in and I went in person to see if all the right parts came in to get it installed. They said everything was there but it would cost an extra $198 to get the body off because it would be a 2.5 hour job to install the ignition switch and $65 to tow it. So either the person I called or the person I talked to in person didnt know what they were talking about so I just decided to take my business elsewhere and found another place that charges $50 for towing and $128 for labor all in all I saved about $197 by not going here (probably because of the BS of having to take the body off) so rethink and call a few places before getting work done here.
Went to look for some parts for an old 70s Honda from their yard. Apparently, they dont let you look and see what you can salvage from it, or just look around at the old junked bikes (which some are pretty neat); they want you to go into knowing exactly what you need. I told them Im restoring a bike so any parts, but would like to look at the bikes to see whats salvageable, got this confused bike. They finally let me go look after charging me $10, plus some kid was escorting me. I couldnt find anything, but asked for handlebars and they wanted $40, WHAT! Anyways, its not much of a salvage yard, could be awesome if they knew what a salvage yard was.Wont go there again, Ill just look for my parts off ebay.
Great shop, family owned business that is extremely intelligent upon any on or off road vehicles. Definitely would recommend and 5 star service center.
Carl is awesome! One of the best bike repair shops in the Albuquerque area.
Did not answer the many times. I finally gave up.
Well lets see 38 years of service and what do you get over 1500$ on repairs and a bike that does not run. I would recommend you go else where. Nothing but a waste of time. My dad took his bike in to get it running 1st time we picked it up. Was not running good at all. Took it back told them what the problem was a few days later went to pick up still not running good. So we left it there for them to work on yet again.. So we go back to pick it up for the third time and it seems to be doing good until we get home. The next day go to start it and ride around for a few minutes and what a surprise it does not start and its leaking GAS..... THIS IS WHAT WE GET FOR LETTING SOUTHWEST CYCLES WORK ON IT.. 1500$ out of pocket and no BIKE TO RIDE.. DO NOT GO TO SOUTHWEST CYCLES!!!!!!!
Best place in town for vintage Japanese and British bikes in the southwest.
I went there today and they were very polite. They helped me get the part for my boyfriends ATV fixed just in time for him to go hunting!
I like southwest Cycles Inc Because is always a sure thing that you will find the part needed for your motorcycle or scooter to be up and running.slss
Prices are decent and towing is a great option for motorcycles. Friendly and great customer service!
Place is way over priced on labor and if you want to ask a mechanic a question when theyre working on another bike, they wont come out for nothing. All you get is a girl at the front desk thats dumber than a box of rocks and she has to go to the back every time you need an answer. Lol place is a joke! The only good reviews are probably from employees. Hahahaa
Took my bike in for a simple headlight issue and they managed to add cosmetic damage to my tank . on the way home my bike stalled and would not start again. They drained my battery and made me late for work. Thanks southwest cycle
Pretty decent place. Lots of parts and decent knowledge base
Ive taken a few bikes there and have had good results. My bikes are all pre-1970s Triumphs and I think thats why Ive gotten good service. Their prices are high but theyre the only ones who will work on these old machines. Ive been in their yard looking at triumph parts and bikes, too. Take your vintage british bikes here, youll get good work, from real people who live motorcycles.
After having some trouble with a different shop I was tipped onto Southwest Cycles by a friend. I now take all of my ATVs there for repair and maintenance. They do an excellent job at a decent rate. They have always been willing to go out of their way to help. They picked up and delivered my ATV to my home on multiple occasions. They reworked a carb for me at no cost after a ghost problem reappeared. They have done everything from CV boots to carb work to oil changes to welding and I have not been unhappy since. I have heard some people complain about their prices or that they charge to diagnose problems that arent readily apparent. Well, they are a business not a charity. If you cannot afford 50-70 dollars for your $2000-$7000 toy then you shouldnt own it or you should learn to work on it yourself.
I would not even give a one and in fact am contemplating filing a complaint with the state police for what these guys did to a customer and his bike. I am very experienced with working pre-1990 motorcycles and could not believe what I saw when I was asked by my Pastor if I could look at a bike. 1979 Yamaha XS1100. I saw the bill for the work done and can say from experience the only thing I can tell was done was they may have sprayed the carburetors with carb cleaner for a $700 rebuild job. OMG and they said they coated the tank and rebuilt the tank valves. After a complete inspection, tear down and rebuild of these carbs I can tell you NOTHING was changed inside them. What they did (actually didnt do and then charge the $1500 to this customer id down right CRIMINAL THEFT! I WOULD NOT BRING MY BIKE FOR THESE GUYS TO WORK ON!!! THEY SHOULD NOT BE DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS KIND OF WORK AND ESPECIALLY WHEN PEOPLES LIVES ARE AT STAKE AND IN DANGER WHEN THIS KIND OF STUFF IS DONE WITH A MOTOR VEHICLE!!! There is still old gas in the tank and that was after they said they had flushed it and coated the inside. NOT! I have pictures and video of everything!!!
So about three months ago i took my 2002 yamaha blaster to go get it rewired because the chain cut all of the wires.then onces i get it back i tried starting it and NO spark and that was the main reason we took it to them. About 3 weeks ago i went to take it back and i told them it doesnt have spark. Then one of the machanics said we only did what you asked us to do, but for me rewiring also means spark also its like saying if someones going to hook up your TV thats also saying you want the tv to work. My uncle and myself were trying to have a friendly conversation and he suddenly says i dont even want to argue with you guys We were just trying to help by saying what was the problem with the atv. Then i paid them to find the problem and they said i need a new wirring harness. They were the only ones that messed with the wirring and also they didnt guarantee that was the problem. They were going to charge me if they fixed it 140 for the part and another 250 or more just for labor. My dad called them and was trying to tell them that why would we pay for something they screwed up and that got them more angry and just told us to just pick up our atv because they werent going to even touch it.Lastly when i looked at the wires it looked like if someone just pulled them off with their hands. DONT TAKE IT TO THEM GO TO BOBBY JS.
And im ready to race thanks to southwest cycles, I have fully built stroker Yamaha banshee these guys went above and beyond for me. great job on the machine work very knowledgeable when it came time to order the right parts the other shops in town had problems with very professional even tho I am a doit yourself mechanic they worked with me to get me everything I needed and get it done right the first timewhere other shops refused the work and where unwilling to work with meI have 2 Yamaha banshees, 87 1100 gsxr drag bike, and mini bikes all of witch they have help me out with weather its a stupid question or getn new and used partsthese are the guys to take your toys and racers toothank you soo much southwest cycles

Always treat us well. Their junk is a little overpriced, but good for parts.
What a collection of used cycles and scooters. You can find what you need there.
Good people
Expensive, and charge more than they quote.
Great customer service
They have a wide variety of motorcycles
Rude employees. Seemed I was bothering them just to ask for a part. Left and will never return
Parts are parts
