Rented a trumpet from them last year. School gets shut down for COVID like everthing else. They now want a $350 late turn in fee. Seems a bit excessive.

I sold them a clarinet about a year or so ago, they swore to me was worth only $50.00. It was barely used, in its original case and I later found out was worth about $300.00 or more. I was completely disgusted with them for ripping me off!

John Keal Music Company was great. Very helpful. Would recommend. I went to get a repair. They were very caring of my old instrument. They did a get job. Go there for all your music needs. Got some beautiful instruments for sale.

Had a great school instrument rental experience. In fact, never had to go to the store, John Keal delivered straight to the school and made a swap out when necessary with ease. They even replaced a chin rest to a different style as recommended by private lesson teacher at no charge. Then, when it was time to return, just fill out the online form and they will pick it up from school. Great for kids trying out an instrument and helpful for busy parents!

Great company to rent an instrument from. The rental fee also acts as credit if you want to purchase some day, and they replace the instruments if something happens, like if a bow for a orchestral instrument breaks they just take the old one and give you a new one. They even deliver to many schools if you are renting for a your kids music lesson at school.

First off the staff is not very personable at all... Ridiculous practice to run credit for a child to rent an instrument for school. There should be other options like a security deposit or something. People have credit issues for various reasons... Almost none of the time because they stole an i instrument or didnt pay for something their child needed for school. These instruments are, or can be delivered directly to the school... A better arrangement could be made.

This out go-to place for all our musical instrument needs. They are great with instruments (lease. purchase, maintenance, repair, etc) as well as all the supplies that go along with musical instruments. Highly recommended.

Most expensive in terms of rentals. There should be an option just to rent, what if one does not want to buy it at the end or has to move out of the place. With 6 months of rent can buy the instrument.

Excellent service

Perfect place to do business with. I choose them because I am an Albany Firefighter. Years ago, on one of the coldest days in January, we had a very large fire nearby. They opened the doors to us and allowed us to use their showroom as a warming station. This will never be forgotten. Awesome service to us that night and to the community. Thanks.

I was visiting from out of town and needed a new trumpet mouth piece for my daughter. I called them and they had what I needed. I showed up 10 minutes later and the store was very busy. The guy at the register said just a minute and then said wait are you the person who needed the mouth piece. I said yes and he checked me out. I was in and out with exactly what I needed in less than 10 minutes. Great experience!!

There is parking and its easy to get to. The staff are very knowledgable and helpful. This location is the one to go to for stringed instruments, not the one in Clifton Park.

An outrageous fee for renting to own! It is 40 percent more for rent to own! I wish the fine print on that was described better by the sales clerk!!!

We rented Flute for my son from John Keal for almost 2 years and paid around $600. When we wanted to purchase the same, they wanted $200 more than a new flutes price for the used one. I certainly recommend going to other retailor in the area.

Because of a late payment they tried to charge me the full amount of my sons trumpet on top of a fee of $300 dollars. When asked if I could speak to the owner the woman I spoke to said the owner doesnt deal with customers!! They asked me to return the trumpet and said they would no longer rent to me even though I was trying to correct the accounting on the account. WOW As a small business owner in the area I am appalled at their lack of care and service to their long term customers.

Save yourself a ton of money and buy a used one.
