Albany Sound & Music is a truly standout business. Ive been in the market for a 12-string guitar for well over 2 months. I do want a quality guitar, but have a limited budget. My search focused on used guitars from a reliable shop. I visited many stores, and called nearly every store in the mid Willamette Valley. In every case, I spoke with a live person. It just so happened that I called Albany Sound & Music during their off-hours, and got their voicemail. I left them a message, explaining in detail what I was looking for. The ONLY store who called me back was Albany Sound & Music. It was Julian, explaining that they did not have ANY 12-strings at that time, but assured me they were expecting a shipment within weeks or so (of new guitars). I was discouraged overall, but it made me smile that Julian had at least called me back. However, weeks passed and none of the stores Id contacted had reached out to me with any prospects. I finally reached a point (in my life; Im 64 yrs old) that it was just not in the cards for me to buy a 12-string while I was still able to play one. Just days ago, I suddenly had a message from Julian: their shipment arrived with a single 12-strinmg guitar. Its a Fender CD 60 SCE electric/acoustic, and it was brand new, yet within my budget. I went in that same day and sat and played the guitar. It was everything Id been searching for - AFFORDABLE, quality instrument, acoustic/electric, with a built-in electronic tuner. Julian was knowledgeable, focused on my needs, and extremely patient as I made my decision. I highly recommend this store and in particular, Julian. From my voicemail weeks ago, he persisted to meet my needs. In fact, of all the stores Id contacted over the last 2 months, Albany Music & Sound treated me as a valued customer, long before I ever bought anything. I should add that since I started playing guitar at age 15 (thats 49 years), of all the guitar shops Ive come across, this one is a star stand-out.

Store was clean, and the sales associate was friendly. They carry a limited selection of electric and acoustic guitars and a few basses. Fender and Ibanez. Mostly entry to mid level stuff. I saw a few percussion items; no acoustic drums or cymbals. They did have an e-kit on the floor. I definitely choose to buy local whenever possible. I was looking for a specific set of bass strings. They indicated they can order what I needed. Took my son in to buy some guitar accessories and he walked out with everything on his list so that was cool.

The owner was very helpful and took plenty of time to help me find the right instrument and accessories.

Very nice employees. Very helpful. Went in with kind of a junky guitar that needed work. The employee advised me of what it needed. We wanted to get it going for our boy to play on. Asked the employee if he could jam a little bit and he did. Definitely went above and beyond.

The salesperson really went above and beyond helping me find the perfect guitar for my boyfriend. Love this store!!!

Nice store, need more selection of brands though. As a guitar/bass player, I want more options than just Ibanez and Fender. Especially when it comes to amps, want better quality gear than low shelf stuff

I tried restringing a guitar with a Floyd rose with some thicker strings and ended up messing it up, took it in to John and he set the guitar up perfectly, asked me questions about if I wanted the action higher or lower and all sorts of things. Will happily bring my guitars to him for a setup always.

I bought my first guitar at Albany Music 14 years ago. Im still playing it today and play in a band now. John, the owner, is awesome. He is so helpful with all of my questions and always gets me the best prices. I always try to buy all of my music supplies there. It feels great to shop local. I really appreciate having a great music store right here in the Mid Valley. Check it out, you will like it!

Good service, paid attention to social distancing and mask requirements, and I was still able to try some of the guitars with precautions. When I buy, Im planning to go back here

Had an accordion gig that night and knew my practice amp wouldnt cut it. I had a small budget. These guys were helpful and knowledgeable. They not only showed me a great amp within my budget, they also explained why a stand would really maximize the affectiveness of the amp. Great investment on a budget price and great reviews after the gig. I couldnt be happier with my experience there

I really appreciate this small shop. I have always had a good experience when I go there. Nice selection of affordable guitars and other instruments as well as accessories. I usually find what I am looking for and dont have to drive out of town to get it.

The owner John is so awesome. What a great friendly guy. And he shreds on bass.The other gentleman that works there, Ryan I think, is super awesome at guitar and very knowledgeable and helpful.

My saxophone was very much in need for repair before the concert and was fixed in only two days, and was back a few days before before the concert and back in great condition.

They stock really great brands of gear. Most local shops do not. You can walk in the shop and play a USA made instrument. Prices are very competitive. Great place to get a new guitar!

The owner will hover over you the whole time your in there. The prices are ridiculously high. And if you only want fender, Kala or Ibanez this is your place. No guitar effects pedals.
