Danielle went above and beyond to help me find a pair of glasses that fit my style by picking out a bunch for me to choose from. She’s always so friendly and helpful and never makes you feel like she’s too busy to help. She’s the best! Thank you so much for all your help, Danielle!

Anita At the Crossgate store was wonderful she spent the time to tighten my daughters glasses and my glasses. I never liked wearing my prescription sunglasses because they did not fit right I’ve been to other LensCrafters stores where they told me that was as tight as they could get them. I need to fix them in one visit she was wonderful thank you

Danielle was amazing and so patient with us! She really took the time to help us understand all of our options and pick the right glasses for us! Rowen was also very patient and understanding when we asked tons of questions while he created our initial appointment. I decided to come to Lenscrafters for my annual eye exam and the Optometrist Dr. Simpson was attentive, professional and kind! He was great!I then picked out some frames and unbeknownst to me, they were short staffed and I had to wait patiently for a bit while the nicest staff tried time and again to help me! Even though they were short staffed and extremely busy, they were so kind and attentive, they cared to give me their best service even though they were stressed to the limit!I would highly recommend coming to this Lenscrafters for the great service from everyone who worked here!

LensCrafters has a great staff and always very helpful and friendly. I’ve gotten several glasses from there and won’t use any other store because other stores don’t treat customers like this. Also the manager Alayna is absolutely fantastic and needs a raise.

Great selection. Beautiful store. Rude staff. We were not greeted despite there being no other customers in the store and at least three employees. When someone finally did approach me (my husband had left to find a bathroom at this point) she was completely dismissive. She offered no help and was acting as if I’d done something wrong. We drove all the way to Crossgates just to go to LensCrafters. If you don’t want walk ins, why locate your store in a mall of all places?

Very deceitful and dishonest store! I wanted to buy a pair of Persol sunglasses! I stopped by the store on Sunday 10/10/2021 and found a pair of shades that I liked, but they only had the scratched, on-display, frame. I refused to buy it and opted for ordering the same pair through them with a promise to pick it up in a few days. A week passed by then I called them to follow up! They said that my glasses arrived come pick it up! I went to the store and opened the case they handed me to find the same scratched frame that was on display that I refused a week earlier! Very dishonest and deceitful business.

Deb was great. She was great explaining all the exam stuff and then she helped me pick out glasses, and even explained how face shape factors into what shape to choose. By far the best experience I’ve had buying glasses

I made my first ever eye appointment where I went through an eye exam and got all set up for some new glasses. The process was very easy and I had a good time when I was there. Deb was the one assisting me and she was very very nice and helpful!

Dr. Richard Simpson is the best eye doctor to go to!He is very thorough and personable. Same with the rest of the staff they are all very knowledgeable. If you want the best eye care you have to go to an up to date practice. They have all brand new machines and methods to get the best results.

The entire team at the Crossgates location is phenomenal! Ive been going for years and the team is very kind, attentive, and respectful. Ive never had a question we couldnt find an answer to, and Ive always received great recommendations on frame and lens options. An absolute go-to, highly recommended!

I always come here with minor or major problems with my prescription glasses or sunglasses. Whether it’s a missing screw or adjusting the fit of my glasses the process is always quick and free (or shockingly cheap).Veronica helped me out immediately and I was in and out in less than 2 minutes. Very friendly staff. Will definitely be back considering how often I break glasses

Place was busy but the front desk manager (?) had the entire room under control. She was everywhere at once without seeming rushed. Professional, efficient, kind, very effective.The woman who ran the equipment tests was also clearly experienced. Id request her again no question. She explained everything clearly, quickly, and professionally. I did both glasses and contacts and theres a lot equipment changes, a room change, medical questions, etc. But she streamlined everything and made it easy for me to follow.This staff is as good as it gets. Theyre experienced and just very good. Its an hours travel past other places closer to me but Ill go back w/ out hesitation. Its hard to find teams like this these days.

First, do not expect to pick up your glasses on the same day as they only do easy prescriptions, I was not told this until after the purchase was completed. Actually, I asked how long it would take for them to be prepared and should I wander around the mall, then was told it would be 7-10 days, if I hadnt asked I dont think I would have been told. (I would not have come to this Lens crafters if I had known this.) Second, I waited to be called for my pickup but ended up calling because I never received a call and then was told that they had been there for a while. Third, I arrived and was told to have a seat. I waited for over 20 mins for someone to finally acknowledge me, then the receptionist disappeared. I waited for over 40 minutes for a simple pickup. Another employee exited an examination room and I approached her to ask for assistance, the employee looked around and saw the Receptionist return from the back office area. This employee asked the Receptionist to assist me but the Receptionist held up her finger and said just one second, then proceeded to speak to another employee. The second employee stood there for a bit then turned and walked away. I have always gone to Lens Crafters while living in CA. This is my first experience in NY and I can safely say that I will NEVER return to this Lenscrafters. If I could give a Zero Rating, I would. To be honest, Marissa was the only saving grace throughout this experience.Edit: I was finally taken to the back counter for my glasses. The Receptionist then asked me for my name while going through the bins (apparently she forgot it on the short walk back), she then took them out and placed them on the counter. I stated that I just wanted my glasses so I could leave as I had previously informed them that I had someone waiting for me in my car. The Receptionist then looked at me and spoke in a condescending tone as if I were a 2 year old that she could not give me my glasses as she is not licensed to handle medical devices. And, quote, I receive no benefit from not handing them to you but glasses are considered medical devices and I am not licensed to handle medical devices, do you understand that?, unquote. I swear that if there had not been 2 very young girls that were in a nearby examination room with their father I would have used vulgar language but did not want to expose them to that type of scene. THIS RECEPTIONIST THAT CLAIMS TO NOT BEING LICENSED TO BE ABLE TO PERFORM SUCH A SIMPLE TASK AS TO HAND OVER MY GLASSES PERFORMED MY PRELIMINARY EXAM USING MEDICAL DEVICES. SHE PERFORMED THE PRESSURE TEST AND USED ANOTHER MEDICAL DEVICE TO DO A RETINAL NERVE SCAN. Seriously? She cant handle glasses but can perform these types of duties and she claims to be not licensed? Horrible, horrible, horrible.

Rude and unprofessional. Full disclosure: my review is based on one interaction, but I doubt there will be another. I drove to Crossgates mall specifically to visit the LensCrafters store. I have visited this store in the past with a family member and I knew that they were usually open until 9:30pm on Saturdays. This time I needed new frames for myself. When I arrived at the store shortly after 7pm on a Saturday, I was surprised to see the metal gate down. I double checked the hours of operation on the sticker on the glass and it said closing at 9:30. The lights were on and there was one employee inside: a blond young woman with a Slavic accent. I asked her if they were open. At first she ignored me and then mockingly said No, cant you see the gate is down? I pointed to the hours of operation sign and said the hours are listed as open until 9:30pm, thats why I asked. She was visibly annoyed with me and had a snarky comment of you should check the hours on Google - it clearly said closes at 7pm. Now, why would I check the hours on Google when I am standing in front of the store and the sign clearly says they close at 9:30? I dont know if she had a long day or had some negative customer interction earlier in the day but hat employee was rude and unprofessional and could have handled the situation much better. I didnt expect them to open the store for me, but at least be courteous and say something like Sorry for the miscommunication but we close at 7pm now, well update the sign

The staff at this location are all awesome. They truly enjoyed helping my son and I, and making sure we left feeling happy. Great teamwork.

Had a pair of Ray Bans made with transition lens, at the Crossgates store. They were foggy and defective in the upper corners, near the nose area. Brought them back they suggested it was from my mask but they would make another pair and I had to pay $50 for a new pair. I did. The same thing happened. They questioned what I was cleaning them with, I bought their spray and towelette kit. I recently had a new eye exam and purchased yet another pair of different style, without the transition because of the issues, but I wasn’t happy with them and returned them. They billed me for the exam which I had insurance for, instead of re doing it she just credited my account the difference, which to me was sketchy. I called several times to speak with manager before returning to see if they could tint my old defective glasses lol it’s the new dark transition lens just so I could use these glasses I paid a lot of money for .. never got a call back. I returned them to the Colonie center branch. They were awesome to deal with and also questioned their refund practices. They apologized and down for Crossgates..and offered to make me a free pair of my old glasses which I had them do. I had them in a week. I just ordered $1205 worth of glasses and sunglasses elsewhere, they were so attentive and helpful and I will never recommend this Gi isn’t too anyone ( and they made glasses for my husband, after telling him he had a cataract and needed surgery.. STAY AWAY!!!

If you need Progressive/bifocal lenses dont go there. I had many issues with measurements and the prescription. Still have a problem with my third pair. I wont bother to return them again to be fixed. I had a better experience with the single vision lenses.

The most rimless RayBan frames I ever purchased. I love them, and had them replaced 2 times via RayBan’s 2 year warranty so I was happy. Colonie Center did not have frames, and I swear Bruce is the champion lab tech of this region. I had same breakage, common, on my glasses days back. I remembered him telling me to come see him if happens again. I swear his repair looks and feels more reliable and robust than the original. I can’t thank you enough Bruce.

Hey Guys and Gals! All the way from Silver Spring, MD, I post this review. Was just visiting with my brother who needed glasses. While waiting, watching the superb customer service going on; I decided to grab this opportunity to do my annual eye exam. Danielle, an amazing professional managed to fit me in for an appointment within the hour. Alayna, another amazing professional took time to share her thoughts about the selection of eye wear that was attractive to me and looked beautiful on my eyes. The entire team, works so well together. The store is clean and spacious. Oh, and the eye doctor is energetic, friendly and answered all of my questions in detail. I can go on and on but will leave something to be desired! Stay healthy and safe everyone!!

This place was slammed when I came in and all the staff were very friendly and not showing any stress. Went in two times. The initial tech that helped me was fairly nice, no issue there. The Optometrist that looked at my eyes on the other hand, was quite short with me. I would come to expect that someone in that position would understand that everyone has different eyes and seeing and reading certain things is challenging for some like myself. Leff a bad taste in my mouth but walked away with prescription in hand.The next day, I usually do my glasses ordering online, have them sent to the store, quite the easy process. For some reason this time I decided, lets go in and pick out pairs. Bad idea. The man who helped me set up my glasses was very rude. No attempt at kind customer service, I asked if I could pick out frames and set up lenses and his immediate response in a very snarky and quick tone was The labs closed so yoy arent getting them today. Took aback i went on and picked my frames, sat down, and silently waited while he attempted to upset me expensive lense treatments.Now, I do my research online beforehand and price out the frames I want with the lenses I want. I knew what to expect and brought up the price point I got online, it took me showing him on my phone the exact set up to get the price that I wanted. I guess Im sorry i dont want unnecessary frame add ons?Either way, he tossed my prescription back at me, and checked me out, walked off without telling me when I could expect to pick up my frames. I understood that its to be expected to take awhile during a global pandemic but he didnt attempt to even mention a time-frame. That was information I had to pry from him so that he could continue to talk down to me.I typically stick to online shopping for exactly situations like this. The only good the brick and mortar locations are good for are exams and fittings. Thats it, service is extremely sub-par and lacking. Ive worked retail, i get it, sometimes its hard to put on a kind voice but I still made an attempt. These people made zero attempts.I only will come here for fitting in the future. The staff needs serious training in how to treat customers with even a modicum of respect.

This lenscrafter is beyond the best one Ive ever been to... all employees get a 5 star rating from me... before going there I went to vision works... I went to vision works before making this appt with lenscrafters and they were very rude and refused to fix my glasses and told me I lied and didnt get my glasses from them... but not only did I get treated great from lenscrafters they even fixed my glasses with no charge or asked or had explain where I got them from... THEY WERE FABULOUS!!!

I dont know what happened to this place but I had the most terrible time here yesterday . Everything was behind, I understand that happens but the staff were just not that great. It was chaotic. The girl at the front desk was having to do everything . I felt bad for her. She couldnt check me out so another staff member did. He had no idea what he was doing and he said I owed money when my Insurance covers my exam. If I didnt speak up he would have just made me pay and leave. They also never asked if I wanted glasses. Honestly, if I tried to even look, I guarantee Id be there for another 2 hours. Im not sure Ill go back here.

I worked with Danielle and Bruce today and they were beyond patient and very knowledgeable while helping me and were able to help me get exactly what I was looking for but I was a little worried earlier in the day and a little frustrated earlier in the week because my previous pair of glasses had broken and I have been trying to get a new pair since Wednesday but there wasnt an optician scheduled the first time I came in nor was there one yesterday when I called

I was very happy with my initial visit to the store to order a new pair of eyeglasses and Rx sunglasses. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was welcomed as soon as I walked in and asked if I needed any assistance. As I was looking at glasses I was left alone (which is nice) I was given a tray to put the frames I was choosing from in. The person that helped me was very nice and knowledgeable about what she was doing. I was told my order would take 7-10 business days so I will update this review once I receive my glasses order.

This is frustrating! My daughter has made multiple trips to the Albany Crossgates mall location for two not so cheap pair of glasses. The exam, then the second trip to pick up, prescription was wrong, had to make a return. Third trip, the transition lens coating was missing, had to return. Today, our SIXTH trip to get the corrected first set..prescription is wrong again. No determination on when the second lenses will be ready so we are up to at least the 7th and 8th possible trips. Reached out with an online form to customer service after the FOURTH trip, no response to date. When attempting to call today, Wednesday, 9/23/20 outbound message says the call may drop because of phone technical difficulties and automatically routes to leave a voicemail message. It says to press 1 to talk with someone but no dice :-{

My fiancé ordered glasses in store and was given a promise date of tomorrow. He called on Friday and was told they weren’t in yet, but they’d call when they were ready. He called again today just to check since he has work tomorrow, and was told the promise date is now next Saturday, almost a week later than the original promise date. The reason we chose LensCrafters was because of this promise date, that is now pushed nearly a week later than we were told.

Communication is key. Do not omit any part of my eye exam without first communicatingwith me why its not being done. Eye dilation is important. Back pedaling as to why it wasnt done is so unprofessional. Next!

I’m having a bad day, drive a hour to get here and was running a little late. They have a “10 minute” forgiveness policy, and I showed up before it was 10 minutes after my appointment was scheduled. The person who came to the desk was previously having conversation with a coworker and took him a minute or two to get over and start helping me. Now it was literally ONE MINUTE after the “10 minute” forgiveness policy and they still told me I was too late and had to come back another time

I went to LensCrafters in the Crossgates Mall for my annual exam and to purchase glasses. The exam went well. However, when I picked my frames which were part of the Designer Sale I was told because I was using insurance I did not qualify for the discount. This was not denoted on any of the promotional signage. Moving forward with the sale regardless I asked to have basic lenses without any coating. I was told my bill would be considerably higher than I anticipated. When I asked that they expand what options had been selected for the lenses the sales person got defensive and after much insisting they expanded to show that several upgrades were still being applied. After the upgrades were removed I paid the bill. I was told I would be able to pick up my glasses within the hour and walked through the mall to wait. When called I came back to the store to find a horribly scratched pair of demo frames presented to me. I asked that new frames be ordered as I did not want the scratched pair. The sales person told me they would order them. I asked if I needed to fill out a form and they said no. I followed up two days later to check the status of the order and found they had never been ordered. An order was placed with assurances I would be contacted when they arrived. Two weeks later I called the store and was told they had been shipped. Thirty-two days after the order was placed I went to the store to ask the status of the shipment. The salesperson found that the frames had arrived and again had been placed on the shopfloor as a demo. I was told I would need to bring the scratched pair to the store but that they would put the frames to the side. I returned with the scratched pair and they switched the lenses. Upon presentation I noted that the frames were again scratched but less than the first pair. Frustrated with the whole process I took the glasses without comment. Had I not followed up I would have been over charged for lenses, frames would never had been ordered, and I would have never received my order. IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT GLASSES DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE.

I have gone 2 LensCrafters many times in the 20 years I have been wearing glasses. Never has it been this bad. You couldnt tell me the Dr was running 60+ minutes behind schedule?????

This is indubitably the best Lens shop I’ve ever been. I went here with my niece and the service very professional. They were also very courtesy and polite. This particular outlet is inside the Crossgate Mall and you can’t miss it.

Great place. Me and my wife had no issues here. We both got our eyes checked and new pair of glasses without any issues or long wait.

Girlfriend bought glasses here. Just a few weeks later my dog took a bite out of the frame. Shes a handy, and went back to get a little help with some glue, and they refused.

Had a 10:20 appointment showed up early to pick out glasses only to be told after everything was done that the lab wasnt opening until 1 and glasses wouldnt be ready until 3. Had they told me about the lab would have went to a different one. Wasted my day waiting for them. Don t live 5 minutes away so not like want to drive over another hour to go home and back. Very disappointed

TRULY WORTH 5 STARS!!! I had the Best experience at the (crossgates mall LensCrafters)...I did my research thought about getting my glasses a discount retailer but actually wanted a thorough eye exam and fitting. Typically I go into these situations not looking to be thrilled by the experience but in this case I was surprised. The woman I spoke with Gabby to set the appointment was very kind on the phone, didnt rush me and answered at least 10 questions I had. When I came in for my appointment I was again greeted by Gabby who remembered me and quickly got me in to see Dr. Shang Xu who was AMAZING!!! Truly someone whos good at her job. I got a very modern in depth eye exam and she took the time to fine tune my long range clarity. Even quizzed my responses on the eye charts to ensure I was giving consistent reponses. Afterwards I grazed the pleasant selection of frames. I wasnt hassled and got help just when I needed it. I settled on a nice pair of Oakley frames that were fit to my face and to my surprise they had my prescription transition lenses in stock :) They made my glasses in about 2 hours time!!! Super Impressed! Another gentleman handled the final inspection of my frames/lenses and took the time to make sure I was happy with how the glasses fit and performed. I came in at 11AM by 2:30PM I was walking out with my new glasses :) Start to finish I was impressed with the professionalism and service I recieved. If your in the market I highly recommend you give LensCrafters in CrossGates Mall a call!

Been sitting for over 10 minutes in the back waiting on an adjustment and the workers wont even ackledge that I am sitting here. I normally go to the one in Saratoga which is the way I will keep it for now on.

I have been a customer at Lens Crafters for over 10 years. I have been to locations all over the country. I had the worst experience at the Albany branch in the Crossgates Mall. After a rushed eye exam with an individual who has zero people skills, I clearly expressed that I was not interested in finding glasses that evening. Not only did Mark tell me that I could not get lenses with the frame size that I wanted, he kept me there for over a half hour. By the end of the visit I was exhausted, extremely annoyed and insulted by him. Mark is rude and pushy. He is clearly more interested in making sales than actually helping people.I went to Empire Vision (Visionworks) and got the glasses I wanted in the size I wanted.I will never go back to that Lens Crafters.
