Our Saturday morning routine is to come here with our grandchildren, get croissants, hot chocolates, coffee, and sit outside or upstairs just enjoying our food and drinks. The staff is very friendly and ready to accommodate for any special dietary needs. They offer a wide variety of breakfast/brunch items and specialty hot and cold drinks. After couple of visits we just got hooked, its that awesome.

Ordered a bacon egg and cheese, were the eggs fresh? Yes, was the bacon and bread good quality? Yes. But The little bit of egg and bacon on my $8 sandwich was eh. It was the most unseasoned, unloved bacon egg and cheese I’ve ever had. For the price I expect some flavor at the very least. It’s listed as 2 eggs but pretty sure it was one egg folded and 2 pieces of bacon. Sad.

I’m from out of town and stopped here for breakfast after finding it on google, and I’m so glad I visited. The place itself is super cute. The staff was incredibly friendly and kind. And the coffee was absolutely AMAZING! So delicious. I had the coffee cake as well which I highly recommend! Definitely stop by if you find yourself in the area

Excellent food and service. Had the California breakfast sandwich on a croissant with egg, avocado, goat cheese, etc., which comes with a coffee for about $10. Everything was fresh and prepared quickly. I visited twice and the staff was very friendly. Seems like a very well-managed place. I will definitely return when I visit Albany!

Ordered breakfast for me and my friends from the daily grind. We usually go to Troy but for some reason they were closed. They actually had croissants for once which made me happy but burned my French toast and there was a hair at the bottom of my fruits. Ontop of that they put full strips of half cooked bacon in my omelet, while I’m drinking my watered down smoothie. Go to Troy

The small line of locals eager for their breakfast and java was a fine sign that i was in the right place. The friendly and talented staff handled the steady stream of hungry clientele with well timed food and caffeinated drinks that were hot & tasty. The quiet, 2nd floor retail area, was a welcome escape from the bustle of the day to enjoy the well prepared breakfast. The fruit was fresh and the portions are generous. Very worth the trip, enjoy your sips and leave a tip!

Good food. Friendly staff, quirky space. Loved it! We had breakfast sandwiches, one on a bulky and one on a croissant, unfortunately, the croissant was squished (we ate in!) and the filling should have filled the buns to the edges we think. Still not a deal breaker as it was delicious. Had a nice hot chai and a decent cup of coffee. Got cinnamon buns for the road, because how can you pass one up when they display them so tantilizingly close to the register!

Came often during winter and always enjoyed staff and espresso. Back in the area and came about an hour before close, no hello, I was instructed the grille is off for remainder of their business day, cashier angrily watched me sign my receipt, other worker yelling at an alexa to play a song in an otherwise silent room AND the espresso was terrible. It tasted harsh, heavy and gross. I couldn’t even drink it. My friend and I tried to ignore the awful vibes inside as we’ve only had great coffee at this location in the past and realize not everyone is mature enough to not project their bad day externally. With how uncomfortable it was the first go I cannot even imagine asking that cashier for a re-do. Bash Starbucks all you want but they got one thing right, great customer service. So many local coffee shops around in the area, keep your bad vibes and your trash espresso. 🤙🏽

The staff is nice, the coffee is good, and the breakfast sandwiches are tasty.I just wish they could consistently get orders right.A request for no cheese in your sandwich 50-50 chance you get cheese in it.Ask for an extra egg in your breakfast sandwich - there’s a chance you don’t get it but, you always get charged for it.Occasionally I’ve gotten a similar but wrong sandwich - that honestly happens infrequently.I’ve been going here for years and have noticed this more recently over the past 1-2yrs.I’ve been going more infrequently over the past year and it’s getting to the point that I question is it worth it to pick melted cheese off my sandwich (lactose intolerant).

Great staff: really friendly, helpful with suggestions, and made my visit enjoyable. The food and drink, however, arent great. Over 3 visits, I had a muffin no better than the ones at Market32 (which is to say, pedestrian, at best), a latte that was better than Starbucks but only just, and a dirty chai latte that I ended up throwing out (the latte part was pretty much just 3 inches of foam, and the chai was out of a box (or at least I hope it was). Will I go again? Probably, largely because of the staff and its location and maybe to try a made-to-order breakfast item (which I have not had) but never because of the drinks or the pret food. Sorry, DG, I wanted to love you.

This is my second time visiting Daily Grind. This time because I got the Groupon for 5 drinks for $10. Got an iced latte and even though they advertise this as a Starbucks alternative, the coffee isnt as smooth and tastes burnt like Starbucks. Will be visiting 4 more times so maybe Daily Grind will be able to redeem itself in my eyes. Too embarrassed to take a photo of the dirty dishes which has bugs flying on top of them but I guess its too much work for the employees to check up on the top floor so Ill let it pass.Update: I revisited my review only in a matter of few hours because after finishing work, I still had some leftover coffee so I went downstairs and asked them to put some fresh ice in my coffee. The guy told me that as long as I stay in the coffee shop, they do free refills!! So he refilled my iced coffee all the way up! Woohoo! ☺️4 stars!

We used to love this cozy little coffee shop. The coffee was always good as well as the food. Lately though the customer service has been poor. After making my coffee order I waited almost 20 minutes because staff were serving coffee to friends (or just randomly?) that had not waited in line or paid. This happened three times and then they just completely forgot to make my order. Customers who came in after me got their drinks and were gone already by the time I finally got mine. Just not worth the money or time. Highly chaotic and cluttered waiting area too. Definitely go somewhere else if you are on a time line too.

Although the staff was pleasant, The 2 breakfast sandwiches I ordered; egg cheese sausage on an english muffin that comes WITH coffee, totaled $19.?? At best a breakfast sandwich that comes with a coffee, should be around 6 dollars. I don’t need a large coffee give small coffees if you’re trying to save. Seems Covid has taken the honesty out of business owners. It’s unfortunate. We’re all in this together, businesses and consumers. I hope they pay their staff well with those prices. Safe to say I will not be returning to pay almost $10 for an english muffin egg sandwich with cheese and sausage. Think about that.

Always been a bit dingy getting into the lower level store. Most recently I was a bit disappointed by the lack of signage with pricing and was kind of sticker shocked by $8 for a medium chai and what I mistakenly had assumed was a day old coffee cake. Chai was not great, cake was tasty. I live in LA currently and don’t expect Albany prices to be in line with those but daily grind seems to be... wouldn’t rush back any time soon. Professor Java’s or uncommon grounds would have my vote.

The food is alright nothing fancy but the service is very good and welcoming.Food is not so good hence the 3 stars, its a cheap breakfast so I guess you get what you pay for.

I want to like this place because its local but it disappoints each time...today I paid $7 for a sausage egg and cheddar. It was the saddest breakfast sandwich ever...roll was flat and dry, one tiny egg (not even sure it was a full egg), and two small pieces of bacon instead of the sausage I asked for. Maybe Im just used to NYC breakfast sandwiches that are significantly less pricey and infinitely more satisfying but this is the last time I waste my time here.
