These guys were completely amazing! I took in my 1995 Ford F-150 for a new radiator, and they bumped me up to the front of the line due to needing to be in Portland for a memorial service over the weekend. They got the job done right, took the time to make sure everything was solid and reliable, and they were super kind and professional from start to finish - also about $700 cheaper than the other place I called for the same work! EASILY my favorite auto repair company in Albany and Ill be glad to call them first from here on out! THANK YOU!!!

As I’m passing through from San Jose to Yakima, the belt on my power steering pulley is getting looser and squealing more and more. Whereas it used to be 50 mph, now it squeaks starting at 40 mph, driving me crazy listening to it, plus as it slips, the power steering pump is starting to become ineffective while making 3 point turns.I stopped at one shop in Albany, no mechanic. They recommended to to another, too busy to help me. I called RT Automotive, thinking 3rd time’s the charm, and a friendly voice said, “should be quick, come on over!”As I pull up, a white haired friendly gentleman greets me. We open up my truck and he peers inside, gathering his tools. The lot is full of vehicles, and the many bays in his shop are all full of customers cars, yet he takes a half hour of his morning to help me diagnose my issue and get back on the road.As it turns out, the pulley is already as tight as it can be. We sure gave it out best effort to tighten it down, with him beneath the car tightening the bolts and me on top of the engine torquing the pulley, but to no avail. It’s still just as loose as it was.He informs me the belt has been wearing down, and now is thinner than it is supposed to be, that’s why the belt is sitting too deep in the pulley’s grooves, so I need new belts. Also, the belts may be wearing down because the pulley itself is worn. While we were able to fix the issue, he gave me the proper information so I can now order the parts and have my local shop at home fix it when I get back... as for now, I’ll have to deal with the squeal.My vehicle is a bit unique, an old army surplus Humvee. He chuckles that this brings back memories from when he was a mechanic in the Air Force some twenty years ago. Nice man.As we buttoned up the hood, having done his best. I asked what I could pay him for his time. He says to just take care of my pup and have a safe trip, and wouldn’t take any money. While my truck still squeals, my morning’s interactions with Mr. Russ give me optimism and hope in humanity. I wish more folks could be like him.The best I can do to repay him for his generosity and kindness, is to share with you all this story, in the hopes that you guys will bring your cars to his shop for repair, so that both you and he may prosper.Brian

RT automotive is great. Every experience Ive had with them is honest and fair, its a family run business and I couldnt recommend them enough. If they cant do it they will point you in the right direction, its been a pleasure to have them work on my vehicles.

Took my car to this place based on recommendations from local community. From the beginning it was guess work. At first Russ told me it was Likely one of two things but went with his first “Guess”. Well that didn’t fix the problem so paid 130 bucks for them to NOT fix the issue. So I decided to leave it there and Go on to his next “Guess” he was pretty sure he found the issue but this time would be a little more spendy. 650 dollars. I believe what he was saying and decided to let him have another go at it. Well, they did do what they said they were gonna do but DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. When I talked to her on the phone she was always nonchalant about it and basically she didn’t know what was going on with it. I told her I would leave it there until they actually fixed it and was willing to pay whatever, I just wanted my car fixed. Left it there almost two months and they never fixed ANYTHING! Picked up today and paid them 650 for NOT fixing my car.

Swung by on short notice due to concerns over my transmission leak, im planning a large trip back to CA and it was not something I could continue to put off. Russ was very polite and honest with me about how busy the shop has been but worked to squeeze my job into his schedule. The speed and price was extremely fair and im very grateful he took the time to help me out so I dont need to change any plans. I will definitely return to RT for any future vehicle work the next time I visit Oregon. Its hard to find honest and fair mechanics back home in the East Bay so this was a fantastic experience. Ill try to call and schedule ahead of time when they next see me though! 😂.

Iam new to town and my starter went out. I have been driving back n forth to Washington for my daughter and my suby is our only rig. I emailed at night...6am had a response w a number. Called got a quote and could repair that day!!! The tow company also highly recommend them..I used my roadside from Progressive so totally happenstance. Same day they fixed my suby and tht night was able to go to my daughter!!!! So helpful..so kind.. reasonable...quality...100 ⭐ if possible!! And had a dog in office..even better!! Anyway late post due to being single mom and moving but wow...I have told EVERYONE ABOUT RT AUTOMOTIVE!!! HONESTY QUALITY FAIR PRICING

I had some trouble with my car while on the road and had to quickly pull off. I ended up about 2 blocks from the shop and walked over to get help. They were kind enough to drive me back to check on the car. When they discovered a sparkplug had come loose and just needed to be screwed back in, thats what they did, on the spot. No charge even! I was amazed at their integrity and caring. Highly recommend! Thanks

Fuel pump died unexpectedly while passing through town. Every place in town was booked out 2 weeks, Tammy got me in same day and cut the price nearly in half of every other quote.EDIT: also paid $20 to have them change my oil (I brought my own oil and filter). Oil never got changed and filter was installed crooked due to o-ring that wasn’t removed, causing a slow oil drip that eventually led to a seized engine. It seems the shop kept the new jug of oil and only swapped the filter. Initially rated 5 stars but after the neglected oil job, it led to extremely costly repairs. Probably an honest mistake but left me in a really bad spot.
