I have been a customer at Albany Tires for nearly 9 years. They have always provided excellent service and I trust them to keep my 19 year old Subaru Impreza Outback Wagon going. I love my car and have no intentions of trading it in for anything newer. Its better than the new ones, anyway. When I needed a new tire pronto, they located a gently used one a few blocks away on Gilman and I was able to get it on my car in no time. Tires for my car are a weird size and have to be special ordered. Marquis is always courteous and helpful and so are all the mechanics. I enthusiastically recommend them.

This is a great, old-fashioned kind of neighborhood shop that does great work for a totally reasonable price. Really, theres nothing more that need be said. We need more of these kind of places

Albany Automotive and Tire Service saves the day again! I got a chunk of metal in my tire that caused a bad flat. I had my car towed their shop and it was fixed in an hour. Everyone was super helpful and friendly! Thank you guys again!

One of a rare car service places where they are honest and not trying to change/sell you details that can still work for some time. Very professional, was easy to schedule an appointment and everything was done in timely manner.

Went in and asked if I could get one of my tires replaced as it had a gash in it. They did an inspection and said the gash was mostly superficial, and that the tire was still safe to drive. Really appreciated that they didnt try to sell me services that I didnt need to make a quick buck. Nice to see honest local businesses taking care of the people in their neighborhood.

We chose Albany Tire to do maintenance on both our cars since I moved here 8 years ago, and Ive never regretted it. I always have a good experience with them, whether its a simple oil change or new tires or brakes or other repairs.. They are very competent and honest and always get the job done when they say they will. I chose them because they have a great reputation in the Albany neighborhood where I live.

Honest and great service

Albany automotive service is the best. Fast service and really fair prices. One of my tires had three hold, and I thought I have to buy a new one. But John fixed it for me for only $27. I recommend Albany automotive service to everyone.

This shop has done solid work for me multiple times on multiple cars. Car repairs in general are never cheap, but Albany Auto always give a fair quote and gets the job done in a timely fashion with no surprises. Even when I showed up an hour late for one of my appointments, they still worked me into their day and had my car out the door by closing time. Straight shooters, definitely recommend their services.

Ive been here 3-4 times and they are adequate, though never pleasant. This last time it cost twice as much to patch a tire as I was told on the phone that the range started from. When I asked why it was twice as much, I got a dismissive response that they could just as easily have told me when I first asked before the bait and switch. Wont be returning.

These guys were great. Friendly and fast. Service was good, quality of work good. Price was fair and they didnt try to up-sell me. Definitely check them out. Also: although I did not partake, there appeared to be coffee available had I wanted it.

Albany Automotive & Tire is hands-down the best shop in the area. Theyre honest and have very fair pricing, and theyve had the same employees for literally decades, which says something about the kind of business (and workplace) they run. Not too many shops like this around anymore.

Took my second car in for a smog check. The technician was fast and professional as well as accommodating of my sleeping toddler in the back. He even helped me with some maintenance on my wipers. Love that I got a 15% discount for being a repeat customer. I’ll definitely be back when I need another smog or tire service.

These guys give amazing customer service. They were incredibly kind to my elderly somewhat senile mom. So I have gone to them every since. Just love honest mechanics

Brought my car in right before a holiday weekend with two flat tires (one of which had only 15,000 miles). They speculated that vandals had punctured the tires, and they sold me two new ones, and rotated the old ones. The next day, the other two went flat (again, one of which had only 15k miles), and I had to be towed.The circumstances are pretty upsetting. I have no reason to believe that the shop damaged the other two tires or put the wrong ones back on. (Of course, if they had, I wouldnt know.) Still, I would have hoped that, when I brought in a car right before a holiday weekend with two vandalized tires (different model tires on opposite corners of the car), they would check to see whether the other two tires had leaks. They didnt, because apparently putting a tire in a tub of water is a service they charge $10/tire for. (They didnt even suggest it at the time, though.) The tow driver said the oldest tire looked totally shot; why didnt Albany Tire tell me that when rotating it?Maybe they did nothing wrong up until the second time I brought the car in (three roadside assists later); I really cant be sure. But I do know this: (1) they were not particularly sympathetic to my situation, which really did suck, even the parts that were not their fault; (2) it took a look of arguing just for them to give me a discount that was similar to an on-line coupon on Yelp, just as a courtesy; (3) after the owner agreed to give me the discount, he didnt bother telling anyone else, and he was gone and unreachable when I picked up the car, so I had to wait for him to return from lunch; and (4) the owner did not apologize for that; an apology would not have cost him anything.

I have gone to this garage for about 20 years and am impressed by their integrity. The service is excellent and when you dont need something, they tell you so and dont try to sell it to you. This is good if you tend to worry about your car. Over the years they have worked on my car body, my engine, and my tires and their work has always been thorough and lasting.

Always do a great job. Easy to set up an appointment online or over the phone. Prices are fair and the people are super helpful.

As expected, Albany Automotive took care of us. Short notice and a long list of repairs needed and they handled us like real pros! It is nice to be able to rely on a place for auto repair and not to be worried about being taken advantage of or Gouged as I call it. Very friendly guys there and that nice guy who always answers the phone is great; he is consistently friendly and courteous and he always gets us in when we need an appointment. I think his name is Marcel but Im not sure. Anyways, keep up the good work and see you next time, for sure!

Albany Tire has been a solid business in Albany for a long time. They will repair a hole in a tire for $20 quickly, or do larger repair jobs. A solid shop for sure.

Albany Automotive was very helpful in servicing the brakes on my car. I heard a loud grinding noise and was able to call and drop my car off on the same day. They replaced only what needed to be and got my car back to me on the same day. Marquise was very patient and understanding.

UPDATE: Despite their comment suggesting a desire to get in touch with me to learn about my experience, Albany Tire Service never responded to my follow-up e-mail or got in touch via phone.I was treated in an incredibly demeaning way by Jon, the manager. I tried to bring his attention to confusing advertising they were running, and he exploded, interrupting me and leaving the room without letting me finish my sentence. I wouldnt want anyone else to experience his explosive rage.

They were able to change my tire quickly and saved me from a great deal of grief. I am very thankful for their service.

Everything related to the repair of my tire was excellent. However, I did not enjoy the man in the waiting room, who appeared to have no business at Albany Automotive, and spoke disparagingly of immigrants, Mexicans, and Orientals. Also, there was no coffee to be had, even though the website clearly says free coffee, and I asked if coffee was ready, and was told there was no coffee. But the racist old man who appeared to have no business at Albany Automotive in the waiting room was drinking from a paper cup. Maybe he got coffee.

Mixed feelings about this place. Service is 5*. It was fast and cheaper than esimated. But waiting there is terrible. Wifi didn’t work and waiting room is 2 uncomfy chairs. Not to mention how dirty it is (waiting room, toilet). Would recommend waiting at the coffee shop 2 blocks away.

Got a patch work done but took like an hour and a half. My true problem was their customer service. After visiting multiple locations I chose this one because my tire wouldn’t be able to go any further. I was continuously treated rudely and people that arrived after me got serviced before me. I don’t think I’ll be returning here.

Got a couple tires from tirerack and had it shipped to them. They called the day that it arrived, and I was able to schedule an appointment for that same afternoon. Price was as advertised on tirerack website with no surprises. The people were very professional and my tires mounted and balance in under an hour. They even they keurig coffee available while you wait! They are a small business that does good work. Give them a shot.
