Absolutely the best service center owned by a dealership. No extra this or that. They always treat customers like family. Tracey, awesome as always, so are the ladies at the check out as well. You own a Subaru, bring it here. 5 stars.
I had a wonderful experience recently with Albany Subarus Service center recently. The service process was quick and easy. I made the appointment online, dropped off my vehicle, and received updates through the entire service process. Big thanks to Tracey K. for being so helpful and informative. 10/10, would recommend.
Absolutely horrified by the lack of communication, speed and care that has gone into my car situation. I won’t go into specifics here other than to say parts were ordered, appts scheduled, then canceled, without notification, parts were not ordered, communication was at nil. Not coming back here anytime soon. Just moved to the area and this really bums me out.
Brought my car in unexpectedly after the “low tire pressure” light came on and everyone I interacted with from start to finish was super friendly. Appreciate them!
Joaquin was super helpful and informative! I highly recommend this dealership, thanks again.
Friendly Staff and very professional as always. Great service by DON
The service center has always been easy to deal with. They keep track of your vehicle’s age and suggested maintenance as well as any recalls. It’s just an easy way to take care of the car.
We bought our Subaru here and have had most of the services done here. It is expensive-but so is life in the Bay Area. I feel like they sell a bit too hard but that’s more me I just like the facts and not the flash. I have been happy with the service department and look forward to taking advantage of the really nice lounge after we get through this Covid stuff.
They have been our place for Subaru service for almost three decades. Excellent service and good at explaining car problems.
I was so impressed with the service and how quickly my car was finished with the maintenance. Definitely recommended!
The staff is always friendly and very helpful.
They overcharged significantly and provided little detail on the source of the issue.I came in with a check engine light and they diagnosed it as a broken catalytic converter and quoted me over $3,000. Two days of agonizing later, the light turned off and the issue was resolved. They are unqualified, overcharging, and exploitative. Please do not waste your time and energy dealing with these clowns.Note to the owners: If you want me to modify this review, please reimburse me for the $200 you charged me for a misdiagnosis.Edit: I wanted to follow up because I am so irritated by this location.
Need to work on flexibility.
They were very professional, they offered me a loner for a day. I appreciate them.
My experience at Albany Subaru was A+! Aaron Pearson was a truly standup guy! I needed the passenger side airbag sensor replaced that was defective and the part was on back order. They provided a loaner free of charge and Aaron kept me updated regularly via text. This could have been such a negative experience but Aarons professionalism and frequent updates made this an exceptional experience! Albany Subaru is my place to go!
I drove my outback across country and had it checked here. I have tried others, but Albany is my go to service dept. It gets busy at certain times (like every service dept. in CA), but never too busy to respond to questions, give advice or even teach a thing or two! Outstanding service, knowledge and customer care.
The staff is friendly and helpful. Their waiting room is really nice. They provide coffee and snacks for free but have vending machines as well. Ive only had to wait in there once as most times I get a ride to BART shortly after checking in. Also its a pretty quick walk to El Cerrito Plaza station.
Albany Subaru knows what they are doing. Theyre always on time, or super close. They are knowledgeable and kind, the staff is stellar. If you have a Subaru or a Ford, take it here you wont be mad!
I had a real nightmare with the service department and would say that you go here at your own peril. Ask the independent shops in the area what dealer to go to, in my (too late) experience, none recommend Albany. Drive a bit further, and be treated like a valued customer.
Older guy working at parts department was a bit off. He seemed to be in a really bad mood. He was cussing under breath and customers could hear every cuss words he spit out of his mouth.I couldnt believe what I was hearing. It would be good for him to change his attitude. The reason I didnt give 1 star is because I didnt want to base the whole customer service based off of him and him alone. The other guy who helped me out was nice. But they really need to train the older guy not to be so rude, and if he cannot comply with their customer service quality/ mission statement/ etc, then they need to do whats best for them and find someone else who can provide better service to the customers.
Airbag recall service was completed well under their estimated time. they did a complimentary function check, repaired a turn signal and replaced my wiper blades, all for only a reasonable labor charge and parts. the airbag was free, and the shuttle service speedy and courteous. i love these guys. so much better than downtown subaru of oakland.
Awesome customer service!
They fixed a piece of plastic that came off the undercarriage. Two weeks later, it came off again coming back from a road trip leaving us stranded. It cost $800 to fix the first time! Called the dealer immediately the second time it happened and got the run around. Avoid buying a Ford C Max and definitely avoid going to this place!
These crooks ripped off my daughter. She brought her Ford Escape in to fix the AC condenser and rear hatch actuator assembly, and get an oil change. She was quoted approximately $500. They called to inform her that it would be an additional $1500 to fix the problems! They charged her $450 in diagnostic fees alone without fully explaining that no repair was included in that amount! She basically paid $450 for an oil change! She just became a teacher and is just starting out. They took advantage of her lack of auto knowledge and her young age! Please do not give these people your business!
Be weary of this place; they will warranty the parts that THEY install but not the quality of labor.Would recommend going elsewhere.
I have typically been wary of dealership service operations but this one seems to be pretty good. Their prices are moderate and the staff are always pleasant and informative.
Best dealer service Ive experienced. Clean, attentive, shuttle service, nice waiting room, free WiFi, appointments by website, text updates (if desired)
I thoroughly trust their judgment on what needs to be repaired now or could wait for the next service. Ive tried some other repair shops over the years for comparison and always come back to Albany Subaru.
Expensive take your car to other dealerships service departments. Only go here if your car is under warranty. They do good work just very expensive
I had good luck with Subaru Service. Recommend.
They charge you a $150 arbitrary fee for a check engine light with nothing else. This was two weeks after another arbitrary $150 fee to tighten one belt. They definitely try to hike the bill. Not very friendly. Avoid.
I took my Subaru Forester 2006 to Albany Ford Subaru Service after the check engine light came on. First, they charged me $150, just to check the error code. The code was P0420, description: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1. When I called them to get a quote for repair, they gave me a list of recommended repairs, including replace cat converter and fuel sensor - $1639.47, replace head gaskets, spark plugs, wires and timing belt - $2970.47, replace front and rear brake pads and machine rotors - $658.00, 4 wheel alignment - 119.00.I decided to get a second opinion before spending $5,387 on my 2006 model Forester, and I took my car to another car service place in the city, which was highly rated on Yelp. The second car service place said that all I needed was replace the rear brake pads which was $119.00, and replace the cat converter, which was $400.00.Choosing a different car service center saved me $4,868 ($519, as opposed to $5,387). Albany Ford Subaru Service tried to scare me into spending $5,387 on repairs, most of which were unnecessary. And for the repairs which were necessary, they quoted me 3 times as much as the other place. My advice is stay away from these people.
I took my 2000 Subaru Legacy in for a standard oil change. They informed me I needed a belt changed. I said ok, please do the work for the specified cost. Less than 3 weeks ago (between Thanksgiving and Christmas and few hundred miles, the car has been over hearing since and my heater doesnt work. Finally on Christmas Eve, the car would immediately heat up into the red zone of the gauge rendering un-drivable. (I had been calling the service center to inform them, but apparently, they had closed with no notification of holiday hours on the recording). Today, 12/28, I was able to drive the car first thing in the morning because the cold frost kept temperature beneath the red zone fur the distance I needed to drive from my home, only about 5 miles. The service consultant, wanted to charge me $79 for a diagnostic when I told him the symptoms (overheating and heater not working) began occurring immediately after the work that had been done weeks ago. He said the overheating was not related to the belt replaced weeks before, despite when we looked under the hood, with their technician, it was apparent that the hose to the radiator was adjusted and secured with a new clamp and called out that the end of the hose should be closer to the radiator, covering more at the point of connection. They were going to do a pressure test with the charge of the diagnostic which is $79 not including the cost to fix THEIR mistake!!!!!!! This service center is unethical and has poor customer service and does NOT guarantee of work, even within 3 weeks of the work! Save yourself time and headache redoing their work.
Hard to get an appointment but professional service. Texted updates are convenient.
Went to the Subaru department, staffs are nice, but not knowledgeable/ informative
Brought my car in to have an airbag recall taken care of. Got the car back and the radio didnt work anymore. Thought it was just coincidence, but after lots of time and money spent, turns out the mechanic just forgot to re-connect the antenna cable while they were working on it. Two screws were also left on the edge of the floor mat, no idea where in the car they came from. Just sloppy work overall; glad I wont have to go here again.
As always. AMAZINGMike is the best at helping you find the right vehicle for you.
Good employees and work done timely
