I like Speedway. The reward program is really good. The associates are all usually friendly and quick and it has decent prices for a convenient store.

If you are looking for the slowest service and some of the laziest people in the world, then go no further. 1 person on the register with a line on 10 people while three other workers stand around pretending to be to busy to notice. Not to mention the customer service is also terrible. How are you going to pick fights and taunt your customers when they walk into the store? The managers let it happen too. They couldn’t care less.The store always looks a mess. Nothing is ever stocked. The credit card machine goes down every other day. I get that you work at a gas station but you chose to work there. Super big attitude problem with at least 75% of the employees in there.

The black staff members only ID white people!! 2 black people ahead of me clearly younger didn’t get IDed but I did. I swear it’s a power trip thing. And the man behind the glass if the lobby was open you would’ve been smacked. Get a different job because customer service isn’t for you!!!

Do not let the CROWDS scare you. They do a pretty good job of keeping things moving - and this place is crazy busy. As for safety - in the last 20 times Ive been there, there has been an Akron or UofA cop there - always.

This particular Speedway, conveniently located on the University of Akron campus, and a stones throw from downtown Akron, is one of the few gas stations within the city limits of Akron that you can go inside 24 hours a day. Most places you have to stand at a window late at night, which can take pretty much close to forever.

I work there and I feel that the employees who work hard and transitioned from the old store to the new store dont get the credit we deserve I feel like we deserve a raise....taco bell next door 3rd shift gets paid 10 an hr. Just cause their third, well Im third shift too get paid minimum wage and were just as busy as they are.

Got there at 4:30 a.m..The doors were locked. So I waited a little while. I noticed he let some girl in, I thought it was open. I go to door and its still locked. Moments later, she comes out with her coffee. Ive come to this Speeway before, so I know they should be open. There was like 4 or 5 workers in there.

Nice after the renovation. Place is crowded due to being on campus. Be prepared to hear a sob story from a bum asking for money, as this is their hangout. Staff allow them to prey on the customers. The rest of the busy street corners in Akron are infested with panhandlers in the warm seasons as well, and the city makes no effort to combat this.

Third shift workers are treated poorly, having to pick up after other shifts and getting berated, insulted and threatened if it isnt done. Unlike any other shift 3rd is forced to stay over and help first at certain times for fear of write up or termination.

Please do not go to this place. Rude staff and milingering drunk people throughout all hours. Unsanitary conditions and little consideration towards customer satisfaction.

Is out of gas all the time. Is a money trap for students with its unreasonable prices. Cops have to sit here all the time cause they let shady stuff go on and still Ive been physically shaken down for cash outside by grifters. Decent on the inside, but for how new it is its not very impressive and still pretty dirty. Staff are nice but lazy. Dont buy gas here, dont buy beer here, dont even cut through here on foot, and especially dont eat anything from here. Literally go anywhere else in Akron for anything you might stop here for.

People asking for money is a huge issue here and the prices are very high. Staff is kind and pumps are nice and fast.

This is the worst speedway ever. Employees fail to report to work, forcing customers to wait outside in the cold, in line to use the window. No proper training, to do a simple task of putting $100 on a gift card, using the speedway card. I think I will go to Circle K, from now on. Also, when purchasing gas, many times no receipt is given from the gas pump, forcing you to go inside and get a gas receipt.

Slow

I went to put air in my tire and the pin broke so it deflated. I went in and asked for help, so the manager, Charlie, went out and changed it for me. He did the whole thing in less than 20 minutes, and I was able to make it to my 6:00 oclock appointment early. He saved my ass

I had food stamps and some body mixed the sandwiches that you can only by with food stamps and one u can only by with cash and my 6 year old daughter was half way done with eating it and the staff took it from my daughter and threw it away in front of her had her in tears be because I was 50 sent short he could if went about it better hes the one with his freckle on his face

Some kids walked out with a case of beer.. I told the cashiers ...they could care less

I give it a 3 star because the gas seems to have condensation in the gas and the selection I feel is lacking for how long its been around. But Fast service for sure at locations in the south AKRON area.
