My name is Nikki and I got my car painted October 2017 at the York location at Maaco. I would not recommend using this company if you want a good paint job that will last! The front bumper has been repainted twice and still coming off in chunks. I got the paint that was recommended to me that would last and spent the extra money instead getting the cheaper paint to just put on to make look nice to sell. The sales rep told me was just under the factory paint and that it will last if taken care of. I keep up with my car inside and out including waxing every 6 months! Very Very Very disappointed that it has not lasted because I wanted to keep this car as long as I can and now the whole car needs to be stripped to be made right. Also when took my car in the last time to get repainted, once I picked it up all my quarters that were in my ashtray were taken! I called to let them know and the response was let me know how much they took I will reimburse the money. I told him not to bother because I had no clue how many quarters I had in my ashtray I just knew it was filled and now there are none. NOT HAPPY WITH THIS COMPANY IN ANY WAY!
The experts at York Maco are the best!!! Not only on their workmanship but scheduling!!! And pricing/costs, you cant beat them!!
They damaged my vehicle then got angry at me for noticing it and bringing it to their attention. Wendy was very rude and made me cry. I have special needs and she basically called me dumb.
ZERO STARS. Worst experience ever dealing with a body shop. $8,500 from my insurance direct pay and they didnt finish the work. The owner and his son think they are dons or something but they are jokes that wouldnt finish the job. Bottom line, this place will be out of business soon or under new management.
Wanted the 499.00 paint job. Was told by the first maacos they dont do the national promotions. Was told by 2nd a manager would have to call back (never did). Car is prepped, stripped, and ready for paint, but without extras, maaco doesnt seem interested.
The guys and girls over at Maaco on Whiteford in York are the absolute best when it comes to paint matching. Hands down best experience I’ve had with a paint shop. My genesis had a very unique color that was difficult even for the dealer to replicate. Javier at Maaco had such attention to detail and matched it PERFECTLY. Can’t sing their praises enough, they’re just awesome!
Everyone I dealt with was very nice and fun to talk to . I just needed a bunch of dings and dents fixed on my daughters car . They gave me very good advice and I went with a complete car paint . They did a very good job at a very fair price . Exactly as promised . Thanks so much !
Don’t take your car here if you value your car. They do sloppy work. I’m surprised this place is still here. You can paint your car better than them TRUST me go somewhere else.
I just went to get an estimate for the insurance really nice employee after the fix my car I will show pic.💪💯✌️😁
Paid the quoted price. They completed the job when they said they would. They did an A+ job. Very happy with their work. Would go there again and recommend to others.
Shop in York1st the car wasnt done on time2nd when the car was done the door jam still had primer3rd theyll read you a bedtime story for only you to have a nightmarenever again
Decent price for the repair of a small dent. But seems unreasonable for them to take a 8 days to fix after already waiting their 2 weeks for my scheduled appointment. I called every other day. Each time same answer... were starting today and itll be ready tomorrow. Bad customer service. Even when it was actually done, no call from them to let me know. I wont go back.
Made the absolute best of a bad situation. Work ran 2 days later than expected and color was factory gray rather than black. Mistakes happen, but what doesnt happen often is dropping the price down to $400 for a whole car paint job. I couldnt have done it myself for that price. Im thrilled with the look and the price and the way that the mistakes were owned up to and remedied was spectacular.
I have not once had any problems. With my previous car I had taken it to the location in Lancaster, PA and was fully satisfied with the job well done. Now with my new car I had to get my door, hinges, pins, and latches. Once again I was not disappointed with the job well done !!!
1st time Ive painted a car. 2002 Saab, older, in good shape, clear coat was looking bad, older black trim all grey and looked terrible, couple spots of rust, a hood dent, and a damaged front bumper (you know from cement parking blocks) . Purchased for a new driver, so I went with an inexpensive option and Jon ungraded me with a special he had going. All in all with Jons attention to detail on my Saab, his guys skills, I handed my girl a nearly new Saab, born from Jets!
I am very pleased with the paint job I never expected it to look so good. My 21 year old Jeep looks as good as new. Will recommend the York Maaco and if I need a car painted I will return there. thanks for a great job
Very nice professional, great quality work.
The positive:Jon and Jason have awesome customer service skills. Very cordial, responsive, friendly, and dont make you feel rushed. The quote was spot on with the work, which is rare for body/paint shops. The negative:I had a full detail done to my car about a week prior to getting work done here. From iron remover, clay, compound, polish, glaze, seal and wax. Car was flawless, smooth as glass, paint corrected with no swirls or anything. After the detail, I noticed some ugly, missing paint on one spot my rear bumper. Didnt think it would be a hard fix or possible to screw it up since it was so small, so I tried Maaco. The color matched pretty well when looking spot on. When looking downward, its a much lighter shade. The paint has orange peel all over it. My entire car is glass smooth, and now the entire rear bumper is orange peel and the reflection is distorted. I hit the bumper with a cutting compound and a cutting pad, hoping to clean it up a bit but it didnt do too much. I called in and mentioned the orange peel, and asked Jason how thick the paint was, mentioning possibly wetsanding to remove the orange peel. He gave me the information I needed, but didnt offer to take a look at it or fix the problem. Weird.I did a light spray down and wash to remove some of the paint dust on the car, being extra careful around the painted areas (light pressure, PH balanced wash, etc.). While drying the vehicle, I felt tons of spots that were rough on the hood, fenders, doors, windows, and even parts of my wheels. It was overspray. A lot of it. I had just clayed my car recently, so the front of my car was smooth as hell, but the rear half had a ton of overspray. Took out the clay bar and corrected the overspray. After claying, I could see the marks of where the painters tape was on my car, as it seemed to pull off some of the sealant I had applied during my detail. So I use a blue foam pad and light polish, correct that.Just a lot of work to do when I just needed one small area fixed. Im going to have to wetsand and try to remove the orange peel. If that doesnt work, Ill have to get it resprayed. The saying goes, you get what you pay for, and that holds true. They had an excellent price for the work, but now I have and will be investing so much time to correct it, that I should have just stuck to the dealership body shop (Maaco did save me $300 from their quote).Picture is showing the color match of the bumper painted and the panel above it. Zoom in on the lower half and notice the orange peel, too. Not so concerned with the orange peel because it can be corrected fairly easily.
Had my truck painted. Both sides of the cab and tailgate. Dirt all in the paint and they didnt even take off the tailgate protector to paint it. They took it back and did it again. Still have the dirt in the paint. Now Im hoping the paint sticks. Rubbing compound all over my truck when it was returned. The second time I stopped by to see how it was coming along. I saw the truck pulled out back so I went around to look. The truck was unlocked and the key was in the door. I knocked on the doors and no one was there. I was told the painter was there. Heard no compressor. Lights were out. So I locked my truck and took my key with me. Called the national customer service line and told them my concerns. I was told they were going to call me back. Yeah right. Never heard a word. STAY AWAY. Manager said after I pointed out my concerns. Thats what I get for giving you a good deal My question to him and his company is, does a good deal mean I have to sacrifice quality? AGAIN...STAY AWAY!!!!!!!
Just got my car back after a week of them having it. I had my hood and stripes repainted. checked her out after washing it and there is alot of over spray on my wind shield looks like dirt under the paint, some of the top coat dried runny. Not very happy especially since I waited as long as I did and paid for a rental now Im going to have to call them on Monday and hope they will fix it and waste more money on a rental. Very disappointed since I have had 2 of my car here 4 or 5 times and never had an issue
The paint job was nice and they repaired the dents great! But the trim on the lower half of my car wasn’t painted after they said it would be, and they still charged the full estimated price without painting the trim.
Haven’t been notified that my part was painted yet but the guy who helped me out was very nice and took a lot of time to match the paint perfectly. fingers crossed it turned out well!
Maaco did such a great job with my vehicle! It is 18 years old and the clear coat was coming off, it was rusting and needed body work. Maaco fixed it and it looks like the day it came off the lot at the dealership! The pricing was very reasonable. Thank you to Rich as well for great customer service and timely delivery. I will recommend to my friends and family.
Did an awesome job!! I point out some specific things I wanted fixed and he did superb. I feel like I have a brand new car. My friends who have seen it so far think it looks amazing! Great deal as well! I will defodefini be going here again if I need something done.
My wife has a 1998 daily driver Corvette. I had estimates up to $8,000 to have it painted, my thoughts are the car isnt worth much more than that, so that was out. We took it to Maaco in York and got the top of the line paint job! WOW were we pleased! Not a flaw in the paint and boy did it shine! I was very pleased with the price, the quality of the work and the staff was very professional. What made me make the decision was when they took me to the shop to see their work in process. I will definitely will be bringing them more work in the future!! Thanks
Great experience. Rich got me quick pricing and handled two jobs at once. I’ll definitely be going back.
Quoted price was exactly what I was charged, and that is the only thing I could be happy with! The repair was supposed to take 3 days, it took them 5, which racked up another $140 on my rental car. The paint job is almost bed liner texture (they apparently dont believe in wet sanding), and the bodywork is pitted throughout with the 2 main dents still visible from across the parking lot. Service wise, the technician argued with me about the existence of these dents until he pointed them out himself with the excuse well the whole door should have been replaced! Having been unimpressed up to this point, on my trip home the vent shade fell out of my driver side window and I discovered everything from the spare tire compartment to the access panels in the trunk torn apart and in disarray- the repair was on the front passenger side mind you.Sorry MAACO, but on a scale of 1 to 5, it should have been a ZERO...
Excellent repair and paint job. Would definitely recommend them to anyone.
I just left a review and I don’t know how to delete it but the guys here worked with me and explained why my car came out the way it did they took the time and were very humble, the work was good as I said before I just didn’t like the metallic - that I chose to add myself lol just be sure to ask questions they do care and they are great people! Very high quality light buffing to :)
I will recommend them to all my friends spotless work
Jason was awesome! We got really high quality work done to our bumper and quarter panel for $700 under what the dealer quoted, Jason had the flexibility to deal with us having to reschedule twice, even met us on a Saturday morning for an estimate, and got the work done in two and a half days when the dealer said it would take 5. I would never take my car anywhere else in York for honest, really well priced, high quality body work. If you call, ask for Jason- this guy could write a book on quality customer service and honesty!
Best car care in York pa. went in with a bumper torn off and no collision on insurance to cover it. Jason worked with me and took the time to get me the best deal possible. It was done within a few days and it looks great!!!
Rich at Maaco worked with us to enable us to get our Ford van fixed because we didnt want it to be totalled. We wanted to keep the vehicle. He went above and beyond to help us out. Thank you so much for your great service!! We sincerely appreciate it and will come again if we have the need!!
They dont paint rims.
Rich takes great care of his customers. They did a good job at a very reasonable price. Estimate was exactly what was charged upon completion of the work.
I am in no way shape or form, associated with Maaco. After a conversation with Rich (the manager), I chose to have an all over color change completed by this Maaco location despite the reviews. My decision was based solely on the fact that Rich seemed to be a man of integrity. Upon drop off, Rich and I went over the details and he even introduced me to Chris, the guy that was going to paint my car. My car took about 1 week from prep to finish. I am happy with the results, and it was congruent to the price that I paid. You can see by the pictures below, that this wasn’t an easy job and my car is drastically different.I would also like to address current and perhaps future negative reviews of this location. In all honestly you need to realize that you are taking your car to “Maaco”. Yes they offer showroom finish type paint jobs, but they also offer economic lower cost solutions. After seeing a few reviews of this particular Maaco location, I can see that a lot of the consumer issues are a result of unrealistic expectations. Seemingly these customers purchased a burger but had an appetite for steak. The only negative thing that I would say about this Macco location is that they are busy in a seemingly overwhelming way. There seems to be a lot of multitasking amongst their team. The unfortunate downfall to multitasking, is that it sometimes hinders attention to detail. I had to take my car back for less than acceptable runs on my hood, however they they took care of it without any issue. The integrity that I initially suspected was proven true. Additional staffing of this location would be of great benefit.
Dropped a Dodge Ram off to have rust around the wheel well removed and repaired. The body work seems to be satisfactory, however there are other items that need to be addressed. Upon picking up the truck there was a large patch of buffing compound left along a large portion of the back side of the cab. This was hastily removed by an employee that had not been originally charged with completing the job. After a day had passed and a soaking rain, it was noted that there was a leak from the running light above the cab. When I called about Maaco fixing this I got a very sarcastic reply that this was now my (Maaco’s) problem. They did agree to address it, putting a coat of silicone on the torn gasket. Turns out that there are at least two more torn gaskets that I will repair because I will not entrust Maaco to touch my vehicle again. Additionally, there was a coating of buffing dust throughout the truck and the door frames that really should have been cleaned off prior to allowing the vehicle to be picked up. There were dirty work boot prints on every seat cushion. On the outside there were tape residue marks where coverings were attached and primer spray residue from the painting process. The actual body work May have been initially satisfactory, but the total disregard for overall quality and customer service leaves me with concern that the repair will actually last. I guess the adage “you get what you pay for” really does hold true in this case. Unfortunately, I will never take a vehicle to Maaco again and will not recommend it to anyone I talk to. It is unfortunate that there is so little pride in workmanship anymore. Doing one’s best seems to be a thing of the past.... would have been a welcome surprise to have actually had someone go above and beyond because they actually cared.
Excellent service! My experience was exemplary! Jason explained everything carefully. I was repairing my kids car and was paying for it myself. As such, I chose to go with the Elective service. I am so happy because it turned out to be Class A service for me at the lower cost. The repairs are perfect and the paint matches completely. Plus, they finished a day early just so I could have the car for the weekend! Even nicer was everyones helpfulness and customer service. I dont work far from the shop, but I was still surprised when he offered to pick me up and drop me off. Hopefully my teens wont have any more accidents, but if they do, I will definitely go back!
The best Maaco around! They have great pricing and do a great job. Jason is very understanding and willing to work with you for anything. I have taken 2 of my vehicles there and I am very pleased with everything that was done. I am so glad I went there and I wouldnt have wanted to go anywhere else!
We took our sons VW in for a full body paint job and he loves it. Jason and Tony were the best. They helped us with paint suggestions when we werent sure what or how to break up the Plum Crazy Purple color that our son wanted. They suggested Corvette black and wow it came out great!! They really know what they are doing!! The car came out great we love it and most importantly our son loves it!!! I would recommend this Maaco to everyone. They went above and beyond for us and worked with us. Thanks Guys you did a great job!! And they are just all around nice people who really know what they are doing!
Quick and easy estimate. Work was done in a timely matter. Paint job looks great.
I loved the green paint color they added on my bae... and people are loving it when I take it to the car shows... the color didn’t really matched with the vinyl, but doesn’t look bad. Thank you guys
The work appears fine, however, the people were not. After picking up my car I had to return because my front right turn signal no longer worked. I told the guy that we had a problem and what it was and that it wasnt that way when I dropped it off. He said, Sure, thats what they all say. Then he said, Next, youll be wanting me to put new tires on the back of your car. I told him he was being rude and he had another smart remark for me. He did fix the turn signal though (he replaced the bulb). Wont be using Maaco again, unpleasant people.
Great crew to work with
I dropped my car off on Tuesday, the day after Labor day, to have a small rip in my bumper repaired and repainted. They told me it would be finished Thursday afternoonish and they would call me when it was finished. By Friday at 430 (a half hour before they close) I still had not received a call saying my car was finished. Considering their hours on Saturday are only from 12-3, I decided to call them to ask for an update because I was worried if I didnt get it Saturday, I would now have to wait until Monday. When I called in (Friday at 430) I was told my car was actually finished on Thursday and had been sitting out front waiting and they didnt know why I didnt get a call. At this point, being in Hanover, I did not have time to make it to pick up my car before they closed, so I had to wait until Saturday. I had to pay for a rental car 2 days longer than necessary because of their poor customer service. All I was offered was it wont happen again. As if I were going to use them again.
Did an excellent job with collision repair on my work vehicle.
I like the new owners and management did excellent job on my husbands car good color match good customer service recommend it to anybody It was a 2017 Nissan SUV
You folks did a great job and went way beyond the call of duty. Mom’s ecstatic. Much gratitude to MACCO as well. They received the check and finished the car at the same time. The other Co. “may” have just got the vehicle into the shop today. Thanks for your help.
I had hit my mailbox and my car got all scratched up and all dented I took it to maaco and they left my vehicle like new they did a awesome job !! my God these guys are great, and is affordable is not a high-priced like in other places I recommend it is worth it....,.
I stopped in on 03/11 to get a quote for my vehicle. I have yet to receive the quote. I even called in several times reminding them. Forget this place.
Second time using their serviceThey broke my husband windshield glass and promised that they will get it repaired. The explanation they gave us waa it happened when the car was being bake after the painting job it’s been almost a month and a half they keep giving us the runaround and finally says that it cost too much to fix so we are taking them to small claims court, save your money do not use them .The manager Richard Give us extremely poor customer service we are so mad and disappointed. We will contact the Better Business Bureau to report it and also take them to court .
Paint match was perfect! My center caps look great!
I had a wonderful experience getting a repair made to my vehicle. Jason was very friendly and knowledgeable and made the whole process so easy. He also went above and beyond my expectations with his customer service to make my vehicle look brand new.
Great place. Great job blending the colors. Rich was so nice and new how to please a customer.
Great place to go if you want your paint peeling off after a week
I love this place ... the left front of the car was a mass now it look like new car no marks.
Awesome good service ready on time this is my 2nd time there + very good service both times!!!
Our total cost was $600.00 more then the original estimate without calling or any explanation of why. Everytime we call to check if it was done they would say Your car is next to go up.They wouldnt give us the VA discount. They said they were already giving us a discount. The work manship wasnt the best!!!
Niel was great, you can trust him, identified and fixed the problem efficiently. Some shops would try to get all your money, if they do leave and post. Thanks Niel!
Did a beautiful paint job on my mercedes. The Chevy hhr looks great. Cant wait to do more future business!!
I had my car painted there and if you have a pile of junk that you just want sprayed to be all one color then then is the place for you, dirt all through the paint,my chrome engine was now the color of the exterior of the car from over spray, chrome wheels also the same color as well, the bad thing is it was a cloudy day once i picked it up so the over spray was not very noticeable until the sun came out.The car was set outside in the rain after a fresh paint job was completed now there is acid rain marks all over it,they did not install rear trim inside the car to remove the wing on the inner side of the hatch back, interior of the car was very dirty boot marks on the inside door panel, sanding dust all over the black carpet, black door handles where never painted sanded then never touched up.DO YOURSELF A FAVOR GO ELSEWHERE IF YOU HAVE A CAR THAT IS WORTH ANY VALUE STAY AWAY..IF THERE WAS A ZERO STAR RATING YOU WOULD HAVE GOT THAT.
Jason gave us a good price and an excellent paint job on our sons Mazda Rx 8. Thanks again Jason!
Really good quality and a very affordable price.
Had paint job and bed liner applied. Great price and excellent work.
Looks good but some half assery was goin on.
Bought some fender flares in November to cover over my tires. Maaco had the best price around, well its for a good reason. I was promised by Jason a good durable finish with flex agent on the plastics and that it would prevent rock chips. Well I picked them up a couple days later to see that the flares now had a textured look in random spots. You guessed it, the clowns sprayed right over the dust and dirt without prepping or sanding the flares. I mentioned about the poor paint and was told some crap. I shook it off and hoped for the best. Now here we are in March, which is 4 months and both my rear flares are peeling, not from rocks, but from poor adhesion. I return back to have them fixed due to poor paint. Jason first states that I seem a little pissed off. Who wouldnt be? He also is telling me its my fought for having all terrain tires. Now Wait a minute how come I had a dodge dakota with factory painted flares that lasted to present day, 17 years with no chips? Yeah got ya now buddy. Im told now that he will cover labor if I pay $50 for the paint. Why would I pay for something that is this guys fault of poor prep to begin with? This is when he ran off into the back room telling me, see ya, were done here. What a joke. I calmly walked out like the young adult I am and drove off to pick up bedliner to fix these idiots mistakes. Sad to think some of these shops are still in business...
I had my company vehicle repaired there many times. Fast and courteous.
Good service, fair price, and quick repair.
Manager very friendly and willing to to work with you.
I will never go to this maaco ever again. I went in to get an estimate on a full color change. Jason flat out told me they could not paint my bumpers as they were textured. yet from the factory they are painted. mine were replaced but never painted. and even upon requesting and willing to pay for the labor. would not pull off fender and lights and mirrors. instead just pointed out how much work it would be. even without doing any actual real work to it. having worked with him before and seeing first hand his work ethics and style. I left and immediately looked for another maaco. Middletown PA. Excellent shop. not only willing and even offered to pull fenders and doors and virtually everything else off. even decided to add on painting the engine bay and upgrading from a metallic paint to a pearl paint. even with the extra labor of pulling all my doors and tailgate off the car and all lights and trim and molding. and painting my textures bumpers. which that manager knew were painted from the factory. my final price. was $200 more than Jasons estimate. and they were willing to do more work than Jason. and even reassured me that there would be zero over spray as I was putting brand new suspension on it and Jason would of just sprayed everything black to cover up the over spra . save yourself the time and get a great paint job at a different maaco. he also owns and runs the one over by whiteford road. go to a shop that actually is clean. and professional. and will do all you want. and then some.
Always do good work and stand by the work they do...
I had my 97 trans am and taking the car to maaco was a big mistake. I had a dent in the fender and instead of fixing it they got a new plastic fenders that they couldnt even line up with the body of the car. The paint was shiny for maybe a month and after six months looked worst then when I first took it to them. The paint was dull and when I tried to wax it didnt seem to have any effect paint was horrible after six months. I paid 1700 because I didnt want a cheap 300 dollar job and thats what I got anyway. The warranty is bs. I took it back there twice and bunch of excuses why they wouldnt fix the car. Avoid this place at all costs. Hope this helps someone else
Terrible. The most frustrating time i have ever had dealing with someone. Took my car for a quote on painting a fiberglass hood and spoiler. Jason said would take a week. Dropped car off on a monday morning, said to come back friday. went after work friday to find that the parts were just going in the paint booth. Nothing but lies and excuses followed for the next 2 weeks. Remember, just a hood and a spoiler is all that needed done.Jason said I was be unreasonable and had high expectations. would not deal with me, had to then deal with rodney, another fine citizen with great morals, had no problem lying about issues with the paint i had. they had dropped my hood, burnt through the paint, left paint runs, scuffed my fenders when sanding, i could go on. customer service at corporate sucks, they just listen to the shop you complain about and you get no results. Stay away from this shop, Please dont go through what i have, you will not be happy. cant wait to see peoples reactions at cars shows until i can get this fixed right.
Perfect paint match on my truck.
Horrible horrible horrible..these guys are not reliable do not waste your time and money on this place.its a total con..!!!! i brought my car in to fix my bumper and these ppl just basically crazy glued the parts back together.pls pls stay away from this place, you have be warned.
Took a few times but looks good
Prices are fair. Communication could be a little better. Waited an hour past my appointment for store to open.
Fix a car with minor damage turned out great
