Highly recommend Body & Soul for anyone wanting to invest a little in their bodies & souls!Somehow, Body & Soul manages to be both unique & universally appealing. I’ve found gifts for everyone here, from a Tibetan copper bracelet for my hubby, to slippers for the in-laws, to fancy soaps for neighbors, to one-of-a-kind wooden kitchen spoons for parents.Best of all, my energy refills every time I visit. Shopping can be draining, especially during a pandemic — but I always feel comfortable & cared for here. I read the reviews, and I do not agree, the woman that is there is NEVER warm and is always preoccupied. I have tried on several occasions to learn and talk about the merchandise. I believe she should read theWILLY LYNCH. My life in N.Y. 51yrs, and seven here is DAY AND NIGHT. Sadly, I miss out and so do they. Do better. I suggest you get in touch with whatever it is that bothers you about OTHER black women that may be different then you .smh

Such a beautiful shop. The woman working, Dana, was so incredibly kind and helpful, the best service I’ve received in ages from any store. She took the time to get to know me and my mother. Everything was very beautiful and had very affordable prices. The store featured a boutique, a book room, skin care, aromatherapy, and an art gallery. I highly recommend stopping by.

This place is wonderful! The owner and staff are amazingly sweet. They pulled up a stool for my grandmother to sit in and even offered her a bottled water while she waited for me to shop. The shop itself has an impressive selection of literature, jewelry, and handmade crafts. I highly recommend shopping here!

Worst experience in a store ever!!! I have never been disrespected by a store employee as I was today. I was passing through Winston after a 4 hour car ride with my small children. As we passed by this establishment I walked in to ask if they had a restroom, the lady at the desk politely told us no. As we were walking out, a lady offered us a mask. I declined because we were leaving and told her that we were looking for a bathroom. She said with a nasty attitude the this was a retail store NOT a bathroom or a place to ask for a bathroom!!! And as we continued to walkout of the store she continued to tell us that is was not a place to ask for a bathroom it was a retail store. So I told her that I wouldnt be back, and she said that she was glad and didnt want us to come back. Uncalled for, completely!!! If you want to be judged by all means shop there! A simple answer to a simple question was all that was needed. What a rediculiously rude individual!!!

The shop caught my eye while I was looking for a place to eat lunch and I decided to hop in to look around.They have a great variety of things, beauty products, clothes, jewelry and art!I wasnt sure what I wanted when I came in but I gravitated to the bath and body stuff. Asked for a specific product and the owner was super friendly and wasted no time helping me to find it. She even went above and beyond to make sure I saw the full variety I had to choose from.I have a ton of hair and have been looking for a good bonnet to sleep in, and I have bought a lot of different ones, but the one I picked up here is the most comfortable one I have found yet!Also got some African Black soap, and some cute hair clips and hope next time I can get one of their hoodies and maybe one of the gorgeous tapestries.

I have been a client of Dana since she opened the store.. Have taken my family there for over 11 years we love her and the African heritage she loves. The way she treats her clients makes you feel as though you need to shop there. The deals and specials are always welcome but the beauty of the owner and her dedication to service or unmatched and welcome in todays world.

We walked into this Body and Soul “retail” store to ask if they had a restroom that we could use. Their response was shocking. “This is a retail store not a store that you come into to ask if they have a restroom!” Yeah like retail stores don’t have restrooms, okay! And also we had a child that had to pee, so think twice about spending your money here! I don’t recommend this store to anyone that likes common courtesy! Very rude employee!

Body and Soul is my absolute favorite store to shop in for body care products. The owner is extremely sweet and ALWAYS welcoming. The atomsphere is relaxed and educating. Ive been shopping at the store weekly/bi-weekly for almost 2yrs now. The honey blackseed soap combined with the lotion is definitely my favorite. My son loves the books area. The books features characters of color which is rare for young children to see, which is something I absolutely love. The place is worth the visit because I promise youll become addicted!!

It is always a warm welcome and an abundance of assistance with any questions I may have. The clothing, jewelry, artifacts, and such are beautiful. Lets not forget the book section of the store. WONDERFUL !!!

You are hit with racks of beautiful clothing, cds, lotions, specially crafted body oils, soaps, mesmerizing African art, and an entire room dedicated to books! I felt nothing but good vibes in here. The owner is a beautiful soul. She has such a sweet disposition, and as we left, grabbed my friend and Is hand and said powerful, kind words to us before we left. She truly appreciates everybody that walks through the door. Her shop is something we all need to support!

This place is great. We make special, hour long trips just to buy soap here. Dana is always very cheerful and we felt like regulars on our first visit. Parking can be a pain at times but we just drive around the arts district until we find a spot.

I had a great experience in this place. I bought a small toiletry bag, which actually is really big, for a really good price. I will definitely come back again!

My experience at Body and Soul was not exactly what I had hoped for. The essence of the store was rudely interrupted by the presence of the owners father. His disrespect and rudeness shortened my stay; however, the owner was very pleasant and fair in which the way she handled the situation. This experience doesnt take away from the beautiful products that she has to offer. I personally wouldnt go back after pondering on the experience; however, I wouldnt encourage anyone else not to visit this store. Its really sad to know that as a people even in an establishment that is supposed to support unity can display such a high level of rudeness.
