The Best cake I’ve had in years. I had 2 pieces and subsequently ordered 5 different flavors 😂Mind you this cake was received by mail days before I tried it. I was astounded. Delicious.

20211031 OH my! I just opened the Painkiller and can smelled the rum immediately! It has a lot more rum than the coconut I tried over a year ago. I rarely drink and might get drunk from eating this rum cake 😁😆🤣. Its delicious and moist. I need help eating this! Going to share with my friends!! 5 more rum cakes to go. 😋20211020 I came back to Wilmington for another vacation. I really enjoyed my first time here. I travel with my 2 little pups. I need to find parking near by if I am going to run in real quick to pick up some rum cakes and have to leave my girls in the car. I decided to do a driveby and see if theres parking up front. As I was about to cross the street and pull up to the front of the store, God... Buddha, Both blessed me!! An SUV started pulling out of the parking spot right in front of Cape Fear Rum Cake!! It was perfect timing!! Not seconds too late!! I cant believe the timing. The last time I shopped at Cape Fear Rum Cake was when they were at their previous location. This location is nice!! So much bigger and more spacious. There is more room for them to carry more variety of rum cakes that they didnt seem to have last time at their old location, as well as merchandise. The owners are very responsive, helpful and informative. I got 1 coconut, 1 vanilla, 2 painkillers and 2 pumpkin chocolate chips. I cant wait to try the painkiller and pumpkin chocolate chip.A year ago...I stopped by this afternoon and I am so thankful that they made an exception and let me shop with my dogs. I already did my homework online before stopping in, and thank goodness there was no customers during my time in the store. I wanted to bring some home and to work. Some of their flavors were sold out in the 16oz and some in the 5 oz. There werent any larger size cake when I was there. I wanted to get a pineapple rum cake and it was sold out in all sizes. I ended up picking up 2 vanilla, 1 chocolate and 1 coconut 16 oz cakes. I took advantage of the 2-16oz deal. The 2 employees there were very nice and they were helpful and answered my questions. I am going to try it when I get home tomorrow night. I will update this review once I have a chance to sample all 3 flavors.Updated: just tried the coconut. It smells and looks a little like pound cake with some chunks of crunchy coconut pieces (very few, not many), and the rum flavor is very light and mostly at the bottom of the cake. The coconut flavor is fainted light. Not noticeable. The cake is very moist, too. Its perfect!! I can easily eat the whole 16 oz in 2 settings 😁😋. Its delicious!! Highly recommend it!

The BEST rum cakes! This place was on so many lists of places you must go if youre in the wilmington area and we are so glad we did! We got the vanilla, coconut, and banana chocolate chip. They were all so good, especially the coconut!

The rum cakes are phenomenal!There isnt tasting available. Picked-up a few flavors to take back home - original, painkiller and coconut.The coconut was delicious. However beware the flavors I mentioned earlier contain walnuts for those who have allergies - didnt notice until returned home.

Nice little shop making delicious rum cakes. Many different flavors and seasonal varieties. The challenging aspect is the parking; might have to park a couple of blocks away on the street if the parking lot in front of the shop is full.

I love this place!! I have been buying their cakes since they opened years ago in Chandlers Wharf. I live in Wilmington part time and I always bring cakes home to Pittsburgh at the request of my family and friends. The Easter Bunny will be delivering cakes this yea instead of evgs.😀

Different flavors but they are all so good. I ship the mini ones to family and friends every Christmas. The guy thats always working there, I think is the owner. He had a different place by the water before. Really nice guy who makes good rum cake. A while back you walk into the old location and hed have a baby in a little play area to the side while he and a female made rum cakes to sell. Just a cozy family vibe set up.

Local or tourist this is a great place to go. In more flavors than you can imagine and in all different sizes there is something for everyone. They make small personal sized options which make great gifts.

I ordered CFRC for my mom’s 50th birthday party. We tried Painkiller and Pumpkin Chocolate Chip, both were amazing!!! So moist and flavorful, and shipping was quick and affordable. The cakes lasted a week in the fridge before the party and still tasted super fresh.

I am visiting Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington. We were shopping and stopped by to try the rum cakes. They are the most delicious ones I have ever had! I lived in Puerto Rico, and I love ron. Im going by to buy more before I go home! Again, by far the tastiest rum cakes ever!!

I bought one for a gift. The person it was for loved it. I dont live in the area and they shipped it. Great cake I was told and thanked.

I wish I had one of these in my town! These things are amazing!! Moist, and sweet. I love the keylime flavor. My only complaint is the price is up there but I can understand why. You definitely get what you pay for. Pay this place a visit next time you are in the area.

Rum cake > every other cake

We were in the area from Raleigh this weekend these Rum Cakes are amazing moist with every bite I strongly recommend Cape Fear Rum Cakes and will be driving down this weekend for more!!!

Was visiting Carolina Beach and went to the park on Saturday where a booth was set up. Bought 2 small rum cakes to try. Golden and Blueberry. Let me just say.. The Golden was just perfect. I was scheduled to leave Sunday, went back to the park but sadly it wasn’t set up till 12 and i had to get on the road. I ended up ordering a 32 oz one and had it sent to my house. It came today. Again... just perfect!! Give this company a try!!! Not sure my waist is going to appreciate the extra inches cause i might eat the entire thing!! Soooo good!!!

Love these cakes!!! Dont live in the area anymore was hoping they had expanded their range. Was never a huge fan of rum cake before but these are moist and perfectly balanced rum and sweet cake. We used to have them handy anytime we had out of town guest for some local favor. They always got rave reviews.

This little place is awesome. There are different flavors to choose from and the cake is super moist and just delicious. Carry out only and make great gifts I definitely recommend stopping in.

I normally dont even like rum cake but this place is fantastic!! I found this location by accident. My husband and I were taking a walk nearby when we both stopped and said What is that, we need to find out where that crazy good smell is coming from! We got to talking to the owners who are the sweetest of people. We dont live nearby but we vacation in Wilmington a couple times a year and cant wait to go back. We already ordered more online because we just couldnt wait till we went again and ordered extra for gifts. Love this place!!
