Really bad gas station to go too. They were open said the hours on the door. Someone I know went in to get a pop after working a full shift and the guy tried lying refusing to sell him a pop, not to mention if your supposed to be closed then why the hell are the front doors open to let customers in?

I am working in Wilmington from out of state. I was frequenting this gas station because it accepts Apple Pay and also allows you to pay for lottery with Apple Pay or credit/debit card. I like to play keno and as of late, have been quite successful at it, winning $400 a handful of times and even $800 another. As a result of my good fortune, I was playing keno daily, always at the BP Duchess on Rombach Ave. This past Saturday morning was no exception. On my way to work, I stopped in, purchased a beverage and a $40 keno ticket. $40 is quite a lot of $ to spend on a lottery ticket, but as a regular player, I’m confident I can make at least half of it back, worst case scenario. I played a 5 spot for 20 draws with a booster. Upon checking out, my card was declined. I use Apple Pay because my wife has my actual card back home in Wisconsin. Well, she withdrew a large sum of $ the previous night and hadn’t had a chance to tell me yet. Being a regular customer and a honest person, I assured the young man behind the counter, I’d be back as soon as I could, as I had to get to work. If not, the store is out the $40. My nearest bank is in Xenia so I borrowed $40 from a co worker and returned to BP an hour later. On my way I was checking last draws for results and realized I had won $800 and some change. As soon as I walked in the store, the young man that had sold me the ticket was standing on the customer side of the counter talking to the young lady starting her shift. He has a large wad of $ in his hand, and turns his back to me and puts it in his wallet. Then he smiles and hands me a new keno ticket to fill out. Now realize, I haven’t said a word yet. I asked him where my ticket was and he replied “I sold it” I asked him how...nobody is going to buy a $40 keno ticket that has already started.Personally I don’t know anybody that would spend that kind of money on lottery period. He didn’t have an answer. That’s when I asked the young lady working if there was a manager I could talk to. The manager came out of his office, and I explained the situation. He asked the young man about the wad of money, and he said it was his. I explained to the manager I thought he was a liar. I also explained to him that I’m in there daily buying lottery, cigarettes, Red Bull and fuel, spending upwards of $500/wk there, which the young lady vouched for me on. He said “I’ll look into it” and smirked at me. I explained I would be taking my business elsewhere. I tried to call the corporate office and left a message but got no call back. I really hope they reviewed the cameras and terminated that employee. Very dishonest. Made me sick. I realize I didn’t have the $, but I told him I would be back and I stood by my word. If that would have been a losing ticket, I would’ve still came back. If I hadn’t, I doubt the ticket would have been “sold” and as a result, the store would be out $40. If someone would do that, what else is he capable of? How does he have the time to be watching keno? Maybe that’s why there’s no hot breakfast or hot coffee. I recommend going to the Sunoco on South St. Very nice honest ppl, and they accept Apple Pay.And Jody^^ I don’t think it’s a coincidence that certain employee you’re referring to, works the night/early am shift.
