A top notch rarity is when you find the combination of skilled expertise married with honest integrity. All the positive recommendations, no doubt are truthful. The father son team were extremely professional and meticulous in taking care of my car, as if it were their own. They are sharp, attentive and talented. I trust the safety of my family to no other.The last time I saw them, there was an unusual sound coming from my vehicle. These are often very difficult to diagnose since there are a plethora of areas it could be from but my cars doctor was en pointe and immediately figured it out and fixed it on the spot. On top of that, they didnt even charge me. They are the ones who are truly priceless.

I cant say enough good about these guys. We had an issue with our car while we were driving through the area, 125 miles from home, on the Friday before Labor Day weekend. They were able to see us and got us in and out quickly so we didnt have to spend the holiday weekend in a hotel. The owner (sorry, blanking on the name, Jeff I believe?) and his son (Jeremy?) were really kind and courteous. Good people and very trustworthy, and we had a few good conversations about cars and business in general. Great guys.

Our first trip to White Plains Aamco was accidental: our truck broke down in the area, and it was the closest place we could get to- we are so glad for that initial trip six years ago. Jeff and Jared have been the only people we trust to work on our truck since then- they have completely replaced a transmission, along with maintaining our truck (which we rely on for work), and keeping us running. My truck would not go into park properly all the time, I know enough about cars to know it was the linkage.I brought my truck to local mechanic thinking I would get a honest diagnosis. I had explained to the mechanic I took care of the vehicle and was planning to sell the truck over the weekend. I received a call from mechanic saying I must replace transmission, when I explained I knew it was just a linkage issue he charged $146.00 for looking at it and when I said it was not the transmission I was told to pick it up and pay then he hung up on me.A friend told me about Tarrytown Armco, I had never used them but was told they were very honest and would give me an honest diagnosis. The gentleman I spoke with gave me an honest diagnosis and was disgusted with the previous mechanic who lied and tried to scam me. There are still honest people in the world of mechanics. Fearing the worst with my recent car issue (strange humming noise from underneath) I found AAMCO through a google search of nearby transmission care. Aamco of White Plains was the most accommodating service center I have ever encountered. My daughter goes to Pace University in Pleasantville and Jeff and his team went out of their way to contact the Bronx Aamco center to repair my daughters car which was under warrantee in Staten Island. A big shout out to Anthony and his team in the Bronx as well that picked up my daughters car fixed it and brought it back to Jeff. It felt like I have known Jeff forever and we had only spoken on the phone. I would highly recommend Aamco of White Plains for all of your car repairs. I brought in my 97 Ford Expedition about 20 years ago for a Transmission Flush. I never forgot the level of Customer Service from Jeff so I recently returned. Jeff and his son Jarred were just as informative as they were then. After a transmission flush & filter change to my wifes 2010 Honda Odyssey Touring, Im again very happy with the outcome. Jeff and his team were professional from start to finish. My car had a transmission leak coming from the dipstick tube, Jeff inspected the car, quoted the price and assured me the transmission was fine once the problem addressed. I normally drive my 2007 Saab 9-3 1 hour to have it properly taken care of a Saab master mechanic. Prior to taking my car for a new clutch I called my Saab guy and he told me it could cost as much as $2500 to fix my clutch. Jeff fixed my clutch for $500 less and my car has never been faster. Jeff at AAMCO saved me over $8,000.00! One of our work vans would not go into gear and it was towed to a Ram dealership. According to their diagnostics I needed a new battery and a new transmission. They claimed the repair on this 2016 van with 80,000 miles would cost me just over $8,000.00. I called AAMCO and they told me they would arrange a tow and check out the van.Jeff had my van for over a week, drove it daily, ran diagnostics and the it ran fine aside needed a new battery. It seems as though the old battery was not giving off enough voltage to power the PCM to engage the transmission.Jeff called me daily with updates and he has a personality that makes you feel like you have known him for decades. We are now bringing all of our vans to AAMCO for all service or repairs.I highly recommend this center for their honesty and integrity.

Recently I had issues with my 2017 Dodge Durango citadel where as my radiator was giving me issues amongst other things. I had the option to bring it to the Dodge dealer but opted to try AAMCO in White plains when I realized they are known for more than just transmission repair. From the time I dropped off the keys and throughout the whole ordeal...Jeff the owner was up front and transparent about what the issue(s) were and made suggestions of which made sense 🤔 by being proactive addressing issues i had no idea about. Jeff was courteous and kept me in the loop throughout the whole process. I got my vehicle back as promised and I must say with the tune up that was also done there has my V6 purrrrrrring. UPDATE - After a recent phone conversation. I will not be working with this shop again.My car went in for what I thought was going to be a catalytic converter replacement. However Jeff/Jerry and their team realized the cat did not need to be replaced only the flang and flex pipe.

I brought the car to the shop because I thought there was a transmission fluid leak. Theyre inspection revealed the problem wasnt the transmission. It was a bad oil seal. They explained the problem, told me when the job would be completed, and the cost of the repair. They delivered the car on time for the price they quoted. I am very satisfied with there service.

Car came out great, drives like new. Was able to address problems before getting worse. Owner communicated great throughout process.

Decent place. Professionally run. Upfront information can come at a very high cost thus trapping you into having your transmission serviced here. Clean showroom. Ability to view mechanics are makes it a very professional atmosphere. Towing services are reasonable. Actual costs are extremely high. Family owned and operated and on Tarrytown road for many years. Fortunately, I took my car elsewhere. I got the same results for much less money. It is my opinion that those who have been in this business this long can allow a customer a reasonable guestimate of expenses because of the historical knowledge of past experiences in fixing transmissions. If you are not on a budget, then by all means utilize the services of this type of transmission service outlet.

Jeff and The team at AAMCO in white plains are great. I’ve had a couple of cars over the past few years that have needed a lot of work, especially my jeep and these guys have consistently given me the best service and advice I’ve found anywhere. They give it to you straight and are not trying to nickel and dime you for things you don’t need. I highly recommend bringing your car here for anything. They’ve done axles, rear ends, drive shafts and anything else I’ve brought their way, and always for a reasonable price.

I was at this AAMCO for the first time about 6 months ago. The younger owner, Jared, was friendly, informative and helpful right from the very first phone call. The senior owner, father Jeff, was just as pleasant and informative once I arrived on site. My vehicle was repaired within my work time frame. He explained to me what was wrong with my vehicle (which was nothing that I thought it was) and what was done. While vehicle repairs are not inexpensive, I felt he was honest and thorough and my car ran like new. I did not feel taken advantage of. Everyone was welcoming and friendly right from the start but yet remained professional and thorough. Jeff said to me that I now have a mechanic for life and I left there feeling exactly that way. They felt like family. I went back in recently for a minor oil change and it was like walking in on an old friend. They are always friendly, accommodated my schedule and do great work. I would recommend Jeff, Jared and the rest of the shop to anyone who needs a good, honest, thorough and friendly experience and welcoming atmosphere.

Where do I begin? I brought my car in for necessary repairs related to my annual inspection, after taking it back and forth to another mechanic shop that was not able to diagnose the actual problems, which resulted in various codes. Jeff, Jarrett and the AAMCO team identified all of the problems and took on another large unexpected repair to my complete satisfaction. Fixed my car after the dealer ruined my car. Thumbs up to the guys at white plains AAMCO

I was called by the owner about my 2016 Nissan Rogue, and he was very professional and informative. Im from NC so I wasnt expecting such such courtesy.

We called AAMCO after our car failed inspection and they guaranteed that they would be a more affordable option than the $3,100 quoted by the inspection place.We brought the car over after that promise. A day and a half later we were told that they still didn’t know what was wrong with our car and wanted $850 to diagnose it. Two days later we were told that the whole transmission needed to be rebuilt and it would cost a $400 more than our inspection place. We reluctantly agreed.We got the car back and to add insult to injury, our car key and all of the interior, including the door, visor and all around the the door and handle are soiled with smears of engine grease. In all my life I have never received my car back in such a dirty condition.I contacted the AAMCO corporate offices and spoke to a woman named Charlene three times who was horrified that they would not fix the mess they made to my car despite her calling them three times on my behalf. She said that they indicated to her that they would not clean the motor grease from my car because I shared this honest review.Don’t trust them to do the right thing and don’t trust them to treat your car with respect.

My 2009 Jeep Wrangler just started having transmission issues and being unfamiliar with it.. was hoping it wouldn’t be anything too bad.. especially since I just had the car repaired for something else unrelated that had cost me a lot. Of course any type of transmission repair is expensive and I was ready to just junk the car but Jeff got me on a payment plan that made it possible for me get my transmission repaired. The entire process went much smoother than I thought and I had my vehicle back within a week.

On a snowy and cold evening, my Land Cruiser engine literally stopped running while I was driving on Main Street, in White Plains. I was traveling for business and in NY to see my daughter. We found this particular AAMCO (via their Google 5-star rating) and I told my insurance company I wanted my car towed to them...best decision I made. The next morning, I called and spoke to the owner, Jeff, who was very professional. He did inform me of how backed up they were and said he would do his best to look at my vehicle since I was traveling from out-of-state (they were backed up with work for about 4-5 days). Once he had a chance to look at my car, he called to informed my of ALL he anticipated needing to do...there were a LOT of problems and they took care of them quickly in order to get me back on the road. I know that I paid a very FAIR price for all they did. I wish they were closer to me so they were my mechanics, as I trusted them implicitly with my car. Once my car was done, they even called a local cab company to pick me up. I met his son and one other mechanic who worked on my car, as they were VERY PROUD of being able to get the repairs done so quickly, when they literally squeezed me in their very busy schedule! I am very appreciative for their efforts and professionalism.

Omg, could not have asked for a better experience. I was told by the dealer that I bought my truck from, that I needed a new transmission. This was going to cost me $6500 😳. My friend told me about Jeff and his son Jared. I quickly pulled my truck from the dealer and ended up in Jeff’s garage. After 2 days, I was told that my truck is running fine, and there was no evidence of transmission trouble. And, if I start to have issues, to let him know, and they will re check it. And all he charged me was $20, lol and that’s because he needed to put gas in it. Jeff and Jared could’ve banged me over the head with a huge bill, and yet they didn’t, their honesty speaks volumes. I was recently having some issues with my 2014 Volkswagen Jetta and I took it straight to Jeff in AAMCO ( having been there a couple of times before already and they did an awesome job). He fit me in in spite their busy schedule and not only did him and his team help identify what was the issues in my car, he actually took the time to make a few calls and find out if my car was under warranty period and recommended me to take my car Volkswagen service center for engine control module software update...without any charge!! They really go out of their way to help their customers and provide top notch service!! I would highly recommend them to everyone and there is no doubt in mind that they are the best in the business!

Long story short, I wound up getting stranded near White Plains when my car broke down. I called AAMCO over others based on good reviews, mostly cos I wasnt from around there and had no idea where I was, or who was nearby. Im SO thankful AAMCO was there, and Jeff, the owner, was so nice and helpful and helped me out straight away. After a stressful day, he really put my mind at ease, and I knew my car was in good hands. And if it were physically possible, I would drive up to them whenever my car needs servicing. Highly recommended!

So two weeks ago my Transmission gave up on me and i was in a panic. I called a few places and were told a bunch of gibberish. Finally my son told me to check out these guys. I called and spoke to Jeff and let me say I was relieved the minute I spoke to him. He was professional, caring and honest. He had his tow truck driver picked up my truck from the shop it was in and brought it there. The service here is excellent and they give you a honest and thorough assessment of the repairs needed for your car. Jeff was in contact with me all the time and he explained everything that was wrong with my Transmission. A little over a week My van was up and running again like new after the transmission was repaired here. The car is in immaculate condition now and I couldnt be happier. Rare to find an honest person in this industry, but Jeff the owner is exactly that. Just bought a year old A6 from an out of state dealer. After I took delivery of it, I realized the brakes started to scream. Brought it to Jeff who spent two days diagnosing, the dealer refused to pay for the repair, so fortunately I was able to return it to them. Meanwhile, Jeff who spent quite of bit of time on the vehicle never asked me for a penny. He earned my lifelong business with his honestly and Id definitely recommend.

After experiencing transmission problems I brought my car to the dealer. They were unable to specifically locate the problem and recommended a new transmission among other things. I was not confident with their assesment and decided to bring my car to Aamco in White Plains. Jeff and his staff were able to isolate the problem to the transmission, and although I was not happy about replacement, he was able to give me a fair price for a factory rebuilt. Since my car was 11 years old I was not convinced at first that a new transmission was worth the investment, but Jeff did a full inspection of the car and made me feel comfortable with the decision. When I picked up my car after the repairs I noticed a exhaust noise as I left the shop. I brought the car right back and Jeff found where one of the pipes had corroded exposing holes after being taken apart and reconnected during the transmission replacement. He didnt hesitate offering to make repairs as well as realigning the steering wheel. It is hard to find a repair shop that provides excellent customer service and quality work but this is one of them.

Working in Westchester area I was looking for Transmission shop to check out my car issue, I got very lucky when I came across AAMCO shop run by Jeff and Jared, checking in and getting your car inspected was very warming experience, they do make you feel very welcome, I would recommend this shop to everyone to get this experience if you have car issues.

When your car breaks down and you have it towed to a mechanic, you cant end up being luckier than I was. Unless, that is, you have it towed to Jeff and his crew at AAMCO of White Plains.Not being from the area, and having to get back on the road to leave town, I was at first dreading the possibility of a prolonged stay as my car sat in a mechanics shop. Recognizing my situation, Jeff sprang to the rescue. My car was in the shop within minutes, diagnosed within an hour, and repaired and back on the road within the day. My car went from being on the brink of death to the road.As if that would have been enough, Jeff and his team were also incredibly kind. They gave me honest appraisals of what was wrong and worth or not worth doing—a rarity in a business generally more concerned with making money than keeping customers. You would be hard pressed to find an auto shop that cares more about its customers.I will make sure everyone I know in the West Chester knows about this unassuming shop. It just might restore your faith in humanity a bit.

Had them do a new transmission for my 3 yr old camry after toyota would not honor the warranty. 0 stars for westchester toyota, 5 for Aamco on Tarrytown Rd.

When my car overheated on the side of the highway, AAMCO was the only shop that would even agree to look at it the same day. Jeff(the owner) was AWESOME. They took the time to diagnose the issue with my car properly, he even go in touch with my local mechanic to go over what repairs had been done recently to better understand what was going on with my Subaru Outback. He went the extra mile for us by calling a rental car company to get us picked up so we could get home. They were totally honest and gave us a really fair price on the repair. He even alerted us to another problem in the car that my local mechanic should take a peak at. They were a real life saver. I would recommend them to anyone.

Highly recommended — Matt and the whole crew at AAMCO are great!I took my 2006 Saab in for a second opinion on the transmission. They did a full assessment of the car (top to bottom) and instead of charging me thousands of dollars for a new transmission, they uncovered other issues and gave me an honest opinion that the car was better off donated to charity for parts and that I should get into a new vehicle.They could have fixed it piece by piece, but instead did the right thing. I cant remember the last time I felt comfortable with a mechanic — Ive been ripped off by so many in the area — but AAMCO in White Plains is honest, fast and fair. If you want people that not only care about your car, but you as a consumer look no further. I brought in my car for what I thought was an AC problem as it was blowing hot for me for past few weeks. They couldnt find any thing wrong with it as they said the AC had been blowing cold when they checked it out / test drove it. You cant fix what isnt broken they said. I expected to at least pay for labor like every other shop, instead the owner Jeffrey extends a hand and says were good. I was completely shocked by this! If you want a crew that is knowledgeable, kind, and a place you can bring your car to with confidence bring it to Jeff; I know I will .

Im writing as President/CEO of Paws Crossed Animal Rescue in Elmsford. Jeff from AAMCO reached out to us to offer us help should we ever need it with any of our vehicles. Sure enough a few weeks later, we needed a new transmission. We brought the van to Jeff and not only were they welcoming and willing to help but the staff treated us phenomenally. We will be returning to AAMCO for any other work we need done, I wouldnt go anywhere else!

The place is wonderful !!! The owner Jeff checked out my van without charge and told me the raw dog truth about it . He was compassionate and caring and willing to assist me with all my questions . Ok, so i got my transmission rebuilt by Jeff and his guys over in White Plains one year ago to the day and i reserved posting my review do to all the bad experiences Ive had with other shops. This was a complete different experience. I NEVER once felt like i was being lied to or strung along like a previous transmission shop did to me. So now that i have put close to 50,000 miles this year alone i can happily to say that i have had ZERO problems with the car since it left AAMCO white plains. I plan on bringing my wife’s car there also for regular maintenance since I finally found a TRUSTWORTHY honest mechanic.

I dealt with Matt and he was super helpful. He was able to get my car in to be diagnosed the same day while on my lunch break. He took the time to explain the problem (with diagrams) and was flexible with scheduling the repair. I have not gotten the item repaired as of yet, but it was a pleasure dealing with Matt here at AAMCO.

I came in with my 96 Ford Explorer with crazy shifting and no lock up on overdrive Jeff took it and fixed it for Free I couldnt believe it!! It was only a loose wire!! He saved me thousands of dollars!! Ford was telling me that I needed a brand new transmission for $4000.00! Jeff saved me from being robbed! Jeff is the man and as honest as you can be thanks Jeff I will always be great full!

I very highly recommend these guys. BMW told me I needed a whole new transition, which would have cost me over $8,000. Owner Jeff Zade took care of me personally and determined that I only needed to replace a portion of the transmission. He did it in 2 days and at 1/3 the cost of what BMW wouldve charged me. Id go back to these guys in a heartbeat.

In 2007 our 2005 Ford Freestar tranny died. Jeff fixed it up (we got the lifetime warranty) and for the last 10 years it has been running great. Good team here.
