Was driving into town for the holiday weekend from NC when we had a charging system failure two hours out from Columbus. We made it to town but would have had to cancel all of our plans if we couldnt get it fixed right away.They took time to listen, understanding the urgency, and they were able to fit us in and got it fixed the next morning, and they were able to provide a loaner!So glad I called them!!!

Hometown Auto is an amazing place. I have been a customer since at 2009. A customer off and on with my Element until 2018 when I began regularly taking my CRV to Tim. The service is amazing. Speaking specifically about my CRV, Tim has provided me with clear cut explanations for issues occurring plus with recommendations of services that the car needed. What separates Hometown and Tim from others is he did not pressure the recommendations and respected any choices of work to be done on my car. This last round, I gave my CRV the spa treatment and had everything completed (critical to her running and the recommendations). She has never run better! Will be a customer for life. Thank you!

I had an overheating problem with my 1951 truck, which I had optimistically attempted to repair myself. Hometowns people correctly diagnosed the issue and fixed the problem. And, during that repair work they discovered a more major contributing problem and fixed that, too.One thing I appreciated almost as much as anything else was the good communication from them during the process. They kept me informed about what they were doing and about their projected timeline. Very helpful.Ive been very pleased with Hometown in the past and this trip once again verified my high opinion of them. Friendly employees, too, by the way.

I tried to ask a simple question: How much do you charge for front brake pads and rotors for a specific vehicle. The person who answered the phone was very curt and said he would not give out an estimate over the phone. When I tried to press further he became more blunt and said he doesnt want his estimate shopped so if I came in I could get and estimate. Guess they have enough business where they dont need mine if you wont answer a simple question.

We just switched over to Hometown Service Center this year and are very happy with the service as well as the customer service. MUCH better overall experience than what you get at all of the big chain places. Fantastic place, I highly recommend them. Well be taking both of our cars there for everything moving forward. If youre even thinking about checking out another place you have to give them a try!

We took our Audi Q5 in to have the brakes done. My husband had to have surgery and was unable to do the work himself so we decided to use Hometown since we were so pleased with the work they did on our daughters car. We were able to make an appointment right away and had our car done before end of business. The price was reasonable and they even explained why our car sounded so loud. We feel confident in their work and prices and will use them for any future work needed.

Simply called to pay my diagnostic fee and spoke toSomeone named Tim, After him claiming the vehicle is not deemed safe to drive and I have to get it towed and sign a release, I commented it’s unusual. This maniac went ballistic swore at me and hung up, I called back, at which point he threatened me to come in here and he will show me and swore again claiming he’s having a bad day and hung up again. People like this should not be employed by any reputable company. He must be a owner to have an attitude like this, FYI if you’re having a bad day, Say we’re closed or pass the phone to someone who has some manners. Will never be going back and will be filing complaints with BBB and the state.

I am very happy to have found a repair shop with such honest, dependable, and affordable service. I also like the option of being able to wait for my car or get a loaner. When Im waiting, my service is finished promptly. I know theyre honest because my car is old enough that it would be easy for them to try to talk me into a few surprise repairs, but that doesnt happen. Ill never take my vehicle anywhere else as long as these folks are open. What they did for me was nothing short of miraculous. A friend of mine casually mentioned them when I called for his advice on where to have my broken vehicle towed. That casual conversation resulted in an honest repair that was done right the first time. I was trying to move into a new house the same day the car died, and the loaned vehicle from this place made all the difference in the world. Its wonderful to know that integrity and extra-mile efforts can be found in an auto repair place, and this is that place.My repair happened almost a month ago as I write this, but the sense of gratitude for a job well done remains as sharp as it did the minute my wife drove the vehicle out of the parking lot. Angelica at the front counter is a wonderful good-will ambassador for the company; she was polite and efficient--exactly what I needed most on a day when i was dealing with a dead vehicle and a crew of movers all at once.Thanks, guys, for the work on that air conditioner. That was a bonus, and the car cools like it just came off the dealer lot a few hours ago. Im so grateful for the repairs so professionally and well done.

Tim and his team have done a great job with various cars for me over the past 4-5 years. He is great about trying to diagnose the problem first and present options before recommending a big repair. When a belt and tensioner repair didnt fix a noise problem, he did more work at no additional cost to get it fixed.

The add came in the mail, what caught my eye was loaner cars or shuttle service could be provided, not knowing how long my problem would take and being a one car family this appealed greatly to me. I arrived early, told my concerns and that I didnt have an appointment. No problem, I was told there were 3 cars ahead of me and would i like to go ahead and take the loner car and they would call me, fine and before I knew it a very nice van with the motor running was waiting for me. Later in the day they called to explain problem and that it could be fixed and ready for pick up at 4:00 and it was. We felt the price was very fair for solving the problem.

I took my daughters vehicle to Hometown Service Center after calling and arranging a drop off and leaving a brief description of what I thought the issue was. (Bear in mind I had no appointment). I received a call the same day, after business hours from the owner, Tim, who informed me of the multiple issues the vehicle had (No surprise, we knew it had multiple issues, its a GMC) and he gave me no less than four options to choose from. We went with the best complete fix and I paid the 50% down as agreed upon. (another note to mention, is that he worked with me on the payment). Twenty four hours later I got a call that the vehicle was done and we made arrangements for me to pick it up after hours. We did have a slight hiccup, but that was immediately resolved and an apology was promptly given.As a person who is a skeptic by nature, I have been pleasantly surprised and pleased with this experience. From the young lady at the front desk, to the owner, Tim and all of the hard working people in between, this has been one of the best experiences I have had spending money. :o) From one Veteran to another, I just want to say, Thank You, you provided top rank service!

If you have nothing to complain about, dont.I live a couple blocks from Hometown and Hometown was recommended to me by my neighbor....and we are still on good terms! Hometown has done an excellent job for me and vehicles. Their labor rate does not appear to be any less then the dealer, but the dealership always causes me grief. The dealership is 10 miles away, Hometown is not. Hometown does good work. There is a convenience factor there. Hometown is pleasant and easy to deal with as opposed to the dealership, another point in Hometowns favor. All in all, other than warranty work, Hometown gets my business.

Weve had both of our vehicles serviced at Hometown. Everything from oil changes, tire rotation, headlights cleaned, hubcap replaced and the fuel pump replaced on our 2004 Chevy Trailblazer. Tim and his crew always do a fantastic job. His rates are less expensive then going directly to the dealership. Customer service has always been outstanding. They appreciate each and every customer as much as we appreciate them. We wont take our cars anywhere else!

Almost destroyed the engine of my car. Went to them to have the timing chain replace. Returned the car to me except the timing chain was put on incorrectly. The next day they again had to tear down the front of the engine to fix their error. I picked up the car and travel about a mile when the oil light come up. There was no freaking oil in the engine. How is this possible?Needless to say, I did not go back for strike three. I have and will not use Hometown Service Center.

I have taken my cars to Hometown Service Center ever since moving back to this area, based on recommendations from family members who had already been customers of Hometown for many years. Tim and his staff have taken excellent care of my Volvo SUV as well as my previous vehicle, a Honda Accord (which I drove well past 200,000 miles). After my last appointment, I even received a follow-up call a week later to ensure that I was happy and that everything was in good working order. My kids enjoy the snacks, drinks, and mini-library in the reception area, while I enjoy the coffee and WiFi, and the knowledge that my car is in great hands. I couldn’t be happier with an auto service center!

Hometown Service Center is excellent and I would recommend them to anyone.We used their services for several years until we moved somewhere that made going to them impractical. A couple weeks ago though, I found a car I wanted to buy but needed to have it checked out first. The car was much closer to Hometowns location than my new mechanic.They treated us with excellent customer service, finding a slot to fit me in and making thorough notes for me to bring back to the seller. I was completely pleased and felt like they were treating me as if Id never left. I was really touched by their courtesy, professionalism, and the family-like feel they show in their work-ethic.

A solid local place to go if you cant do the repair yourself. They identify the problem, give you your options in a straight forward and honest way and let you decide what you want to do to fix it. No auto repair is cheap so if I cant do it myself and I have to go somewhere and dish out money for a big repair I trust Hometown and highly recommend them. Its a plus they are local/family owned too, not some chain. I referred a buddy and he was pleased too.

Weve been using Hometown for a couple of years now. Tim and his staff are scrupulously honest and do excellent work. Tim is the owner-operator and is very much there at all times and available for questions, etc. The staff appears to have been there for a while which speaks highly of the establishment as well. There prices are competitive with other shops in the area. Hometown is my place for care repair!Just to update my review from three years ago...I will double down on everything I said, and then some. Tim and his team have kept me going, stand behind their work, and make it all look easy. They have also added an office cat, Kingsley, who owns a perfectly lovely family in the neighborhood but holds court in the Hometown Service Center office during business hours and keeps things running smoothly. I dont and wont take my car anywhere else.

Today was the second time I have taken my car to Hometown and I was very happy with the experience both times! The first time I was having my alignment repaired. I was told by the place where I bought my tires and have them regularly rotated that my tires were cupping and it was likely due to the alignment. The tire place had also found a nail in one of my tires and patched it, but my air pressure warning light continued to come on every 2-3 weeks. When I took my car in for the alignment, Hometown let me know my rear brakes were getting worn and would need replaced soon. I was able to schedule the brakes in just two days and they were great to help me with my schedule today. They found a nail in one of my tires, IN THE PLUG THAT WAS USED TO FIX IT, and fixed my tire at no cost. Not only am I grateful to have my alignment fixed (makes driving the car much easier) but I am glad I no longer have to stop at a gas station to refill my tires. I will definitely use Hometown again for car repair!

Your company is a complete rip off when I can go next door and have my car looks at for free and you want to charge me my 1st born. To top it off your trusty technician claim things are wrong with my vehicle that are clearly operating great. They are hungry for work and will sell you whatever they can and not what my vehicle needs. Upon the first time taking my car into Hometown Service Center I felt like I had been a customer for years. Tim and his crew welcomed me in and were very honest, friendly, and had an immense amount of integrity. I felt like I could trust Tim immediately when I met him and that feeling proved valid upon my car service completion. I had a pretty sizable amount of work done, but I know the money was well spent and I feel much safer in my (much less noisy) car now! Im a mechanical engineer whos been working on cars for decades. Its hard for me to trust people with my vehicles. I rented a moving truck from Tim almost 10 years ago and had the opportunity to watch his guys work. We are so pleased with the service at this repair shop! We were traveling, pulling an rv, our Serpentine belt went out on our Chevy truck. We stopped, found this place on cell phone internet. My husband called at 4:01 P.M. We had to drop our trailer and run about 10 miles to get there yet. By 5:00, P.M., we were walking out of the business, all ready to go again! Wow! I am a longtime customer of Hometown Service Center. I started taking my old car here when I was a student at Otterbein (they give a discount to Otterbein students, or at least they used to!) What cemented my loyalty was when I was leaving campus for the weekend to visit family 3 hours away. My car suddenly had something wrong with the spark plugs and was nearly undriveable. It was a Friday afternoon, close to closing time, but they said to drive on over. They replaced the spark plugs immediately, and even gave me the box to show my dad so he would know what work they did. They could have easily taken advantage of a young college girl who knew nothing about cars, but they treated me like family.Fast forward to now - my husband and I have 3 kids and we trust Hometown to keep our vehicles safe for them. Once I had to bring my kids with me to wait on our van, and they were so accommodating with toys and snacks in the waiting area. We will always bring our vehicles to Hometown as long as we live here!

INCORRECT my phone has been with me all day no phone calls were missed etc and I stay home.She said I will let him talk to you there is a few things wrong. I get abwhopping quote of $1900 $1340 for a seal leak rest is for 1 ball joint. I told him we have put a lot into this truck and we are not going to making extensive repairs we will be finding something else. He understood and said well at least needs oil change mind you just had my oil changed month ago, I said yes because it’s least could be done for their time. I schedule to get it towed because could not pick up. They call me at 2pm saying $162 my tow was coming 3pm had no choice to pay, $110 or diagnostic no matter work is done or not so beware! Usually they apply it to repairs. No one said a word to me about diagnostic charge. I had an oil leak not computer diagnostics nothing! Total lack of communication.

Got a fuel pump replacement 14 month ago and it went out even though I only drove car 1000 miles in the year. Hometown managed to get the factory to replace the fuel pump but charged me another 400.00 to put new one in! Really felt they should have reduced their cost too since it was not driven much at all! Disappointed - wont return again.

Brought my 2006 F150 to Hometown back in July of 2016 to get a quote on a new engine. They were very helpful and willing but the price was apples to apples with what Ford had quoted me prior to bringing it in. Wanting to support a family owned local business and get the extra personal touch I chose to go ahead with Hometown. They were prompt and did a nice job. I had them put a new Jasper engine in that came with a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty. A couple month later my truck wouldnt start when I came out of a restraunt less than 2 miles from Hometown. I gave them a call and they were very nice and came to help. It was a bad alternator, things like this happen in older trucks. When they gave me the quote of $500 I thanked them but wanted to get a few more quotes because I had no clue what these things cost. The owner immediately got offended that I would even consider calling around first and told me how trust worthy and reputable he and his shop were and reminded me how he came to my aid and he didnt even want my business if I was going to call around (WOW! RED FLAG) I wish I had recorded this grown man whining. I politely offered to go with him if his price was competitive he began to rant and complain and informed me of the service fee he would charge which I expected. Needless to say the customer service experience was quickly in decline. I did call around and received a quote to do it for $400 from a reputable shop (that doesnt charge a diagnostic fee by the way) I had been to before but due to having to pay Hometowns diagnostic fee it would have only saved me a few dollars and my truck was already there. So I went with hometown. Since then My transmission had to be rebuilt which I went to One Call Auto for (Ive wish I had him put my engine in - I have always enjoyed having my cars done there) He notified me my computer was throwing signals for my intake manifold but not to worry until a light came on but to be aware, and if it did come on to take it back to Hometown. Well it came on Yesterday! I took it in because remember, 3 year warranty on my $8000 engine 7 months later AND, to even look at it Hometown told me I would have to pay $110. I asked if the manifold was under warranty they said if it was I would still have to pay the $110 either way. For them to tell me my manifold is bad would cost me $110!!! Ridiculous. One call Auto told me to bring it in and they would diagnose it free of charge. I said that wasnt necessary he said no, you are worth it (need I say more) anyways I write this to say that Even though Hometown may stand behind their work they only stand behind it as long as you are willing to pay $110 every time they look at their work. And FYI I had the manifold replace from Firestone (have the reciept) 3 months before the engine was replace. Im willing to pay to get my truck fixed. Ive spent a lot of money on it. Problem came down to customer service and standing behind their work. $110 even if it was their fault is not a good warranty. I can see paying $110 if it ended up being something not under warranty but just so everyone knows a warranty with Hometown comes with a $110 deductible everytime.

I cannot begin to describe my experience at Hometown. I had recieved to previous quotes at two unnamed auto shops. Needless to say, they were outrageous and were excessive. I decided to look one more time and was led to Hometown. I was greeted on the phone by a wonderful lady, who was very joyful and was cared about my truck and the concerns I had. I brought my 2008 Ford F250 Turbo Diesel in and Tim, the owner oversaw the diagnostic and performed the repairs himself.During its shop time, they allowed me to use a loaner car so that I could still be mobile. Amazing. When I saw the price quote for the work needed, I almost did a backflip. I was so excited as the previous to quote s infact had added almost 4 grand extra of work that was not necessary.I have just moved here from Washington State and finding a good honest mechanic meant the world to me. To sum it up, Tim had my truck done in no time and it is running phenomonal. Not only that, but they sent me a thank you hand written letter that is beyond nice.From here on out, I will be sending all of my work to Hometown Service Center in Westerville. Call them! They are wonderful!

Hometown Service Center has been the only people I will let touch my cars. I have known Tim Kuchler for 32 years and he has ALWAYS been truthfully, consistent and will not try to sell me something I dont need. I can call and say my car makes a noise like clunkety, click, clunkety, click and Tim will know what to do. He does not give estimates over the phone, because you never know how much something will cost to fix. I personally admire that. They have free loaner cars. All you have to do is replace the gas. WOW cant beat that. Tim and his wife Laurie know what it is like to need your vehicle and still have to work. There is also free Wifi in the clean waiting.As a woman I appreciate the professionalism of all his employees. I am always treated with respect and shown what needs done and why, although I know many people dont care,JUST FIX IT SO I CAN GET ON MY WAY is what they want. LolThe reciptionest is so wonderful and organized. She is pleasant and helpful whether you are calling for service or detail ( yes Scott Details cars there too)she will schedule you. Yes, Tims twin sons work there too.Thanks Tim and Laurie Kuchler for having such a fantastic place to fix my cars.

Our son is a freshman at Otterbein and he stopped at Hometown to get a tire plugged. There was a billing error and he was overcharged. After calling it to their attention, the owner called to personally apologize and refund our money. Its difficult to have our son so far away from home, but its nice to know weve found a service center that will look out for him when we are not there.
