I was having issues with my battery, so I brought it into Pep Boys. I was able to get it replaced within a couple hours. A week later, my engine light and cruise light kept coming on. I brought it back to Pep Boys to take a look. I was informed my oil was dirty and my dipstick had nothing on it. I was in shock, because I had just had my oil changed 1.5 months prior at Jiffy Lube. The guys at Pep Boys took care of me. The not only changed the oil, but worked on a couple other things my car needed. I couldnt afford to pay that day, but with their Credit plan, I was able to charge it, have the repairs done that day, and go about my business. So grateful for all the help I received! HIGHLY recommend Pep Boys in West Valley City!! They will take care of you with kindness! I dont plan to go anywhere else in future for any car repairs or oil changes!!

I bought 4 new tires at pep boys 6 weeks ago. Just picked up a nail center tread. Easily fixed. They charged me $24.79 flat repair. Never again. Discount does flat repair and so does David early. For free. No more pep boys.

Out shopping for tires and Marlino (I think that’s his name) was outstanding. Very straightforward and gave me an awesome deal on 4 brand new tires. They were my third try when I was out shopping for tires, gave me an awesome discount and yup he was super helpful. Wait time wasn’t too long, there were just 2 of them there. The manager can be a little brash, but hes a complete professional. The mechanics Im only trusting with changing the oil. Asked to rotate the tires on three separate occasions and its never been done. When you buy new tires they need to go on the back. Please stop putting them on the front.

Dropped off suv on Sunday 3 hours before closing for a flat tire and broken lugnut, 1 out of the 2 workers told me if not finished by that Sunday will be finished first thing I called Monday to check status and apparently techs can not finish jobs they start and was told suv will be ready Tuesday is the company policy first come first serve or could they as employees be biased on my race or ethnicity either way missing work due to not having any means of transportation lesson learned they guys need better mechanics so called techs and they need to be honest and have better integrity if you need service of any kind I recommend going else where to honest mechanics who get the job done and stay the hell away from this pep boys off 3500

I took my truck in for a diagnosic test. They charged me more than what the test was and my truck runs even worse than when I first brought it in. If I could, I would give zero rating. I cant even drive it now cause my truck keeps dying and stalls and hesitates a lot when I push on the gas. Would not recommend Pep Boys at all. Now I dont have a vehicle to drive until I get parts that I can easily pay for and put in myself.

These guys are awesome, water pump in the duramax died and was leaking like crazy on my trip through salt lake, after calling several other places in the area they were the ones that were finally able to help us out. Dropped the truck off this morning and they said it should be done tonight or first thing tomorrow morning.

Mariano was very polite and did his job as well as could be expected with only one service writer and one technician.

Really bad! Finally did treat me fair after informing them Im an ASE certified mechanic. And was a heavy line mechanic for a Ford dealership 13 years. Continued to lie about an AC high pressure line leak right up to the end. Next they double charged my card. Denied it until I sgowed them the activity on my bank notification alert. Recommend you never trust those guys

I recently had to take my Nissan Versa in for a clutch repair. Pep Boys was really great. Their customer service is top notch and the work they did was great. Got my car back and noticed a slight problem. Took it back in and they fixed it right away without issue. I would highly recommend Pep Boys. They are great listeners and didnt try to rip me off in any way. Very fair price for stellar service!! Thanks so much guys!

Went in with a flat tire. The team there really took care of me. I saw online a set of tires there but they only had 3 in stock. They told me they will run to another shop to finish off the set of 4. Come to find out, they didnt have the 4th tire so they got me on better tires for same price ($100+ difference). Quotes Ive gotten from them have been great and they take the time to answer all my questions. Customer service gets customers and continued customer service keeps them. Thank you Taylor and Craig for being there.

Read reviews of people saying they got their nail hole fixed for free. But yet they told me 20$plus tax. Nope Ill stick with discount tire.

Don’t go here it’s the only shop in the valley with a master technician for pep boys. If you need actual work on your vehicle do not go to this location. Very poor communication and dishonest pricing. Service manager purposely checked me out at their register without using an email so I can’t give a survey to their corporate on my experience.Service manager wasn’t willing to workout the diagnostic cost when I was trying to do a repair. Service manager gave a bogus response that he can’t give a good deal and can only reduce full retail repair costs by 10% when I called him out that it’s wrong to charge both a diagnostic and repairs when I explained the problem coming in. Gave me a big word response that the cost for it include “full assembly” for a thermostat making the replacement $575 after his 10% discount. I told him that ain’t right for such a small repair told me that he only works there and doesn’t make the rules. I told him I don’t want to do the repair then and then he decided to drop a $100 off the repair. Was a big waste of time to nickel and dime me just to eventually drop it by $100. Even so $475 to replace a thermostat is ridiculous considering autozone has the part for $30 bucks. I asked how can a part so cheap cost so much to replace. Told me it’s cause he charges $165 an hour for labor.DO NOT GO HERE.Edit: I went to autozone spent $60 on parts. Found a mechanic to charge $160 for the labor. Spent $220 out the door. I tipped the mechanic for helping me and being so reasonable. I didn’t hear once after following thru on the response below and sending my contact details to pepboys. As useful as their 0% interest on large repairs for a specific amount of months the recent history I’ve had at this location. It isn’t worth it and just go somewhere else.

I brought a lifetime alignment I would suggest getting one somewhere else they didnt even adjust anything just put it on the ramp then told me it was good but I didnt want to argue about the service the manager was just a disrespectful person I would suggest not going to this location I know it will be my last

Set up an appointment online for 8:00 AM stood there for an hour was told the parts were not in house. Went out to the vehicle for moment came back no one was in the store I left and called asked them to call me with further information and still have not heard from them.I would not recommend this store.

I think they forgot to fill my coolant and my car overheated. Maybe it was an accident but still makes them lose a star.

Took truck in for alignment still the some as before got to looking at the bolts and they werent even touched. Cause I painted the wheel wells a week before. So dont go here they will lie and say they did it all and charge you for just pulling it in.. Ill never go back. Marked up to a $120.00 lesson.

I took my Escape that I was using, to have the oil changed. I had also asked what a starter would cost. When I arrived, they offered me coffee, and a clean comfortable place to wait.They were quick, and did a thorough job. They also gave me a price for the starter with them installing or some else installing.They were good people. They have all of my oil changes now.

First off Sunday 4:25 pm aug 9th I’m desperate for two new tires so my wife can safely get to work... after looking around west valley I see these guys close at five, went in and was greeted by Craig with excited and enthusiasm. I had the tires off and in the back of my truck and told him of my situation he was right on the spot giving me options and taking my frustrations from me and assuring me he will have me back up and going in minutes... his technicians jumped right on my tires and I asked Craig if he had any lug nuts to replace one that was worn he found me a replacement with in mins my tires were completely done and the price didn’t break the bank .... what an experience what a wonderful staff ... Craig and the technicians who worked today 8-9-2020 Thank You ... the customer service was outstanding and won’t be forgotten

You know you are in great hands when you come here. I seen one of the employees that worked at the Sugar House store almost thirty years ago. Now if that doesnt breed confidence in a franchise I dont know what will.Over all I say good job guys and gals. Its your superior customer service and knowledge that keeps us coming back.

I made an appointment for first thing in the morning and brought my car in for an oil change. I dropped it off and came back 90 minutes later and they hadnt touched my car. Jason said his technician, Dragon, was 90 minutes late and thats why they hadnt touched my car yet. But there were other technicians working on the cars of 3 other people. I had an appointment for right when they opened so it doesnt make any sense why my car waited while other peoples were worked on. Also, there was an extra $3 charge on my bill and I asked Jason what it was for. He said it was because the oil change included 5 quarts of oil and my car took 6 quarts so they charged for the extra quart. I told him I thought my car only took 5 and Dragon happened to walk by behind me and Jason asked him How many quarts did the Mercury take? 6, right? Dragon was kind of not answering and while Jason asked again, I turned around and saw Dragon covertly holding up 5 fingers to Jason. I know little about cars so I need to trust my mechanic. These people lack integrity and I will not be returning.

Cheap oil changes, they will let you know if you have any issues on your car without pressing you to fix it now.

Pretty sure this location is closing. Scheduling any kind of service is a joke. You make an appointment and when you arrive, they tell you the mechanic in charge of that isnt in, they didnt get the appointment, or they forgot about it.

Fast service but expensive price, plus they misdiagnosed my cars problem. I got it fixed for less than half the price elsewhere!

The people that work there are awesome and they tell you and show you its real. No B.S. they have helped me with every problem Ive ever had and I appreciate them for all their work!

Everyone at the west valley location on 35th is super friendly. I started going there 5 years ago and all staff has always been very helpful. My car battery vented on me and left my car stranded on the side of 35th under the 215 viaduct so i walked down to pepboys and within 5 min they got me a new battery and one of the cashiers gave me a ride back to my car with my new battery.

I have been coming here for years and have always been treated so well (I love the lifetime alignment - I believe that Pep Boys is the only place in town that does this!) But my most recent visit was absolutely STELLAR! I had several vehicles to work on between my kids, wife and mine. First I was working with Taylor H. on getting everything squared away and then Joel F. came in to help me as well. These two men are truly an asset to Pep Boys! As a local small business owner I can appreciate what I observed: each individual was quite competent and communicated very well but the teamwork of both men together and professionalism left me feeling like a member of the Pep Boys family. I left feeling like Taylor and Joel acutally care about me and my family - not just about profits. This will keep me coming back, recommending to my work network as well as my friends and family. This place has amazing people who know how to work with you. But they lack timelines. They are very slow when you drop a vehicle. It might be better if you sit down and wait while they work on your vehicle.

Worst experience ever! Had my throttle positioning center replaced and one day later the check engine light came on. Took it in to see what the problem was. I figured would be a quick in and out but was greatly mistaken. Bare in mind that the shop was not busy and no cars to work on service tech Trevor, who had originally done the work, was in and was going to take a look at it. After two hours it was plain to see the Trevor had one pace, and that was SLOW! The fact that I was waiting gave him no sense of urgency. I finally asked thee front desk what was going on seeming they had forgot I was there also. Come to find out Trevor had left 45 minutes earlier. My point is I took a chance with this location although the reviews were bad. Now I never to go back again and to warn others so they wont experience this type of poor service. This location does have good potential of being a great shop but need serious improvement in the store and thee service department. A good start would be getting rid of Trevor or having a serious talk with him about his work ethic.

We are traveling from Idaho to Texas. In SLC we realized that something was very wrong with our Cadillac Escalade. These guys were the only ones open on a Sunday. Turns out the dealership had not tightened the bolt that holds the brake caliber on. It had come off and grinded the rim. These guys were awesome and in a little over two hours they fixed brake pads, replaced caliber bolt, and checked and tightened the other side. The team working today were amazing! I am so thankful that they were open and knew how to fix what the mechanics at the dealership screwed up.

My dad went in to ask for help with a headlight, he asked the 2 employees working and they both ignored him. He waited and after 5 minutes of no one offering help or acknowledging him he thanked them and walked out.

Great service, a little pricey. I took my 2008 Dodge caliber for a tensioner belt replacement, and they gave me a discount so really appreciated it. They do work with bought parts and dont need to buy directly from them which was a huge plus as parts are cheaper elsewhere.

Way cheaper than any place else killer deal

Pep Boys has a friendly and quick staff, and is great for when you need basic services done fast! However, this comes at a much higher cost than anywhere else, ranging from 150-200% more.Youll also want to be very careful about advanced auto services. I was advised to get a transmission fluid flush, which sounded logical, but when I spoke with another mechanic I found out that a flush probably wouldve destroyed my transmission.

So basically this place is a rip off. My windshield wipers randomly stopped working. I brought my car in to see what was up. All my friends and family were telling me it was probably just the fuse, a fast and cheap fix.After waiting 45 minutes, they came back and told me that the issue was my windshield wiper motor, and that it would cost roughly $600-$1000 to fix ($230 just in labor).Everyone was telling me that they still thought it was probably just the fuse, that none of them had ever heard of a windshield wiper motor going out. In the case it was my windshield wiper motor, my aunt had looked up some YouTube videos and it looked pretty easy and quick, and I could get a new motor from the store for only $100, vs paying $600-$1000.Anyway, I decided to have the fuse changed first just Incase that could still be the issue bc that’s a $5 fix. I bought a fuse from the store for $5, ran over to autozone and asked if they’d change the fuse for me. They were more than happy to do so. The best part is, all the mechanic did was pull my old fuse out and put it back in. He said the fuse was fine, and that it probably just had loose contact with the car. And it worked!!When I first went into pep boys, they told me that it was probably the fuse or something mechanical, leading me to believe they had checked the fuse. I truly don’t think they did otherwise if all that needed to be done was taking the fuse out and putting it back in, it probably would have worked after my initial visit. My question is were they going to charge me $1000 to “fix” the motor, and my windshield wipers still weren’t going to work bc that clearly wasn’t the problem???? Total rip off!

I took my truck in to find out what a sound was that I was hearing. They called me and said all i need is an alignment. I explain how to get the sound to happen. I wait 2 hours and dont hear a thing back. So i called and they told me the mechanic had left for the day but my truck was just sitting in the parking lot. They then explained i needed to do a 1600 dollar repair!!!!! I do not understand how it went from an 80 dollar job to 1600!!!!!! I picked my truck up and took it to a mechanic, and he explained all i need was two new tires and the sound I was hearing is a common thing for my trucks year and model. I have shopped at pep boys for years but I will never return! They are cheats and want to charge you outrageous prices on repairs that DO NOT need to be repaired! Beware of the hole in your wallet they will try and create!!!! Doesnt even deserve one star!!!

It pays to be part of the rewards program if you are getting services or repairs. Everyone was very nice. Had to wait on my car longer than expected but it was worth it. Saved $500 by coming here for a water pump vs Ford.

Got a flat while taking my husband to the airport. My husband had stopped at a Pep Boys and had to call an Uber driver. Pep Boys quickly fixed our tire for free and did a complimentary diagnostic. The service was quick which was an added bonus because I had my two babies with me. Staff was professional and courteous. They even helped me out to my car.

Service is hit or miss with these guys. They start off with good communication skills but the moment they take your car at the time of your appointment, God knows when itll be done. If not for constantly keeping tabs on updates for my cars repair status, I could see myself spending half the day there for something as simple as a bi monthly oil change. The only thing they need to improve on is, if you set up an appointment with these guys its only common practice that you follow through with the appointment and see the repair through. Instead of turning in your car at the scheduled appointment time and waiting for them to check it when they feel like it. Besides this when they get the work done, they do a quality job.

Rolled into town at 430 pm on a Sunday. Pulled up to the motel and realize we have an almost flat tire. They stayed late and took care of us after finding out the tire was completely ruined. Thank you!!!

Great savings with the online order, pick up at store option. Only issue was, was told the part would be available to pick up at the store after a certain time, it was getting transferred from another location. They forgot to submit to have it brought over. Was a wasted trip to get it. Will have to go back.

This is the only Pepboys Ill go to even though I live right down from the 700E location in Salt Lake. I was in last week because of a rough starting car, and suspected the battery. Made an appointment for that and requested an oil change while I was checking in. They got me in and out and on the road in time for my next appointment.Went there again this week for new tires and everything seems perfect so far. Tires are balanced nicely and they communicated with me throughout the whole process (had issues with my TPMS as well). Once again, got me out in a short amount of time.

As I was driving home (with a few hours still to go) I came in around closing time with a nail in my tire. Staff happily stayed and fixed the tire free of charge. Made my evening. Thank you!

Went in for an oil change. I had a coupon for $19.99. I called ahead to confirm the price with my car. It took 2 hours and 46 minutes! It came to $32.28 after misc. shop charges my car has been leaking oil since that day. STAY AWAY FROM THESE DIRTY SCAMMERS

Not impressed, lack of abilities totally. Took 2 extra days to start on the job. Then they call and said they broke a bolt in a bracket. So i went down and asked to see it, they then mentioned that they havent broke it yet but will when they start on it. Well 7 days later and doing the run around for them its still not done. They said they still need a bolt . For hell sakes come on.! Incompetent. Stay clear!

WORST experience. WORST customer service. NEVER again. I went in for an oil change was told I needed over $600 in various repairs, I agreed to two of them. (One of which were the brake pads that they said they COULDNT put back on because they were too worn.) THREE hours later (I was waiting the whole time) they had done more repairs than I had approved. I paid the bill but went back to talk to the manager later. I later got a call from the employee apologizing for the confusion/misunderstanding and for the grease that was all over my floor, steering wheel and seat. I was offered a free oil change. After that experience?! They can keep it!

Took my truck in, they had it overnight couldnt find anything wrong. Next morning my truck wont start again. This time the have it for a week and then tell me I need a new starter, which I already knew. I was having intermittent starting issues. They want $900 to fix it, and will have in another week, at least.

I Went to get a alignment they told me they couldnt do the alignment as it needed work done $1,280 it would cost to fix my vehicle before they can do the alignment so I got a second opinion at Les Schwab and it was $485 my truck runs wonderful not too happy with Pep Boys I hope everyone else has a better experience then I did ✌🏼make sure u always get a second opinion ! have a great day !
