In Short: Untrustworthy, not thorough, not properly diagnosing or testing issues.Recently I bought a used car from a friend and brought it in for general maintenance and emissions inspections. They had been servicing a family member for some years and so I made the mistake of being trusting and gave them the go ahead to do whatever they thought was necessary.They charged me $300 dollars for a that retails at around $60, and I found out later that the previous owner just barely replaced it. It was new as of only a few months ago! (They didnt get to the bottom of the real problem either.)Also, I complained about noise and vibration in the front while braking. They replaced the REAR brakes, telling me later it was metal to metal. Which was a straight lie, as I would hear squealing or scraping if it had been so. I didnt.They told me at that time that the braking issue was resolved. The problem was still 100% there. I bought it in a second time for the braking issue. They replaced a number of parts that they noticed were not in good shape, which cost me almost $600, what they failed to do was check if the problem was actually fixed. And when I left the shop they very directly assured me that the problem I brought it in for was resolved. It wasnt. It was at best 5%-10% improved, if that, but they didnt find the underlying issue.I brought it to another mechanic at this point, they replaced the front brakes which corrected it about 30% and then rebalanced and rotated the tires and only then was it finally and properly resolved.--My family member also had an experience of they throwing part after part into a car to fix an issue, only to find it not fixed until 3-4 visits to the shop.Avoid or be very careful when using this mechanic shop.

I grew up across the street from Karl. He has taken care of my families vehicles. I trust him with anything. Nate is great and he went out of his way to fix my car and my wifes. Honest good people that will treat you right!

I have been bringing all my cars here for a gazillion years. They take great care of me and the price is always better than anywhere else I could go. I moved to Tooele 2 years ago and still bring my cars here.

Took my car in because it was making a screeching sound and my airbag light came on. Nate there told me it was out of oil which I thought was weird as I just had one done a few months ago and He said there was no signs of a leak so I Paid $80 for an oil change again and the car noise got worse and I ended up stranded on the freeway with my girls. Called nate back to let him know and see if he could check it again and he advised me to go to the dealership to check for recalls. There was none.

Nate and his staff are always honest and the prices are fair. Been coming here for years and I have never had a bad experience. Nate in particular has always been very helpful. I take all my cars here and always recommend them to other people.

I love that I can schedule appointments at Auto Magic, and I dont think Ive ever spent more than an hour here for an oil change. I really appreciate them getting my car in quickly and getting right to work. I get a free car wash with my club card, too! Its super handy to hit the car wash right next door after getting an oil change, get the car all taken care of all at once.

I used to take my cars here all the time, but time after time was treated like dirt. I’d rather drive twice the distance than give them my business. In fact, drive down the road a bit and go to Hillside Tire.

I always take my car here even when it was Tunex. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. I feel they are very honest and reasonable too. I was a bit surprised about my last service. I knew my car needed a serpentine belt which they said was around $60. (Same as jiffy lube..JL informs me every time I get an oil change)... Auto Magic diagnosed my car and called to tell me I needed an idler pulley as well as serpentine belt and the total would be $164.00 and would be ready the next night ...I was very happy and pleased to tell my husband the reasonable total!The next day I received a voicemail thatmy car was finished and the total was $304.00 (approx)not the quoted $164.00 I agreed to before the work was done. The gentleman at checkout told me it was always the $300.00 price? Not sure... Needless to say I was a little disappointed to pay more than double what I was quoted for the repair done on my car...I left feeling a little deflatedthough mainly because I have always wanted to trust them. It might have been an honest error but I know what I heard over the phone for the original exact quote to repair it. Im very grateful for the repair and service....my car is running nicely. I will likely continue to go there... I would recommend getting a quote in writing so you are not surprised at check out. ;)

Good service at reasonable prices

I am very disappointed with the work they preformed on my GMC Sierra 1500. I had them replace my 2 front rotors and all 4 brake pads. Not even 2 days later the bolt holding the brake caliper to the vehicle fell out! Lucky I noticed something was wrong with my truck before something very serious could have happened.

I wouldnt take my car to anyone else! I have been going there for many years. Fair prices, wonderful employees, honest and respectful employees. I am never afraid they are going to lie to me or rip me off. The owner Carl, manager Nate and all the employees have my respect and loyalty.

Needed them to fix an engine light problem no one else could find. They listened to me when I explained the issue and explained what changes they needed to make and why. I didnt feel like I was being talked down to like other mechanics have done because they knew I would understand and Im not stupid. The issue ended up being complicated and required two trips, but I still got far more reasonable prices with both than any other place in just one trip. Definitely will return when any other issues arise in the future.

They were great. The part I thought was bad ended up being fine. They explained what the issue could be. Price to fix the part if it had failed was very reasonable. Thank you for being good honest people. I will definitely be back when I need any more repairs.

We have been taking our autos there over 15 years!! Great mechanics and have fixed every issue on our cars. There prices are fair and we trust them!!! This is a great shop and I will ALL WAYS go to them first.
