I took a pearl necklace that needed a more substantial gold clasp. I was able to choose one, of my choice, from a booklet which made me think it would take weeks to get back. The necklace also needed to be restrung. In less than a week, I was called to pick up. The work was beautifully done. The staff was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I had not been there since 1989 when they were located on K Street. I ended up buying two items that I am very pleased with. Im delighted with their quality of work and hospitality!

It’s so important at a moment like that in your life to be treated with kindness and have things explained and have people be helpful and trust that your treasured item is being well cared for. I think it says a lot that we got such wonderful treatment given that we hadn’t even purchased the ring there. We’ll definitely buy our wedding bands here and I just cannot recommend them too highly.

I recently consigned a piece of jewelry with Boone & Sons and had absolutely the best experience. After having called or visited 7 other jewelry shops who all gave very low offers to outright buy or consign the piece, Eric at Boone & Sons gave me a very reasonable offer for consignment. The consignment took a while and we decided due to extraneous circumstances to lower the price a couple times but the piece recently sold and all parties walked away very happy. I went to Boone and Sons Jewelers during my break to browse some engagement rings and educate myself on diamonds. I was immediately greeted and welcomed by the store manager, Kay White, and she was SO kind, patient, and informative! She literally showed my friends and I every single style I was interested in and allowed me to compare different diamonds without pressuring me once. She also offered some creative ways to go bigger with the diamond, without sacrificing quality. I was planning to shop online for my engagement ring at James Allen or Blue Nile (thinking my boyfriend and I would save the most money), but after today my mind has changed after the amazing experience she provided us. After visiting several jewelry stores in downtown DC I was pleased to meet Erik Boone. He was knowledgeable, easy going and very customer service-oriented. Over the next two months, Erik walked me through the full process of custom making my wifes engagement ring. The ring was centered around a small stone she received from her grandmother, so largely sentimental. Erik understood that this small stone was the focal point of the ring and helped me match this with a beautiful, and larger, cushion cut diamond that would become the center. He was also able to easily match the flanking stone, a smaller old European cut, which mirrored her grandmas. The result was a gorgeous ring which my wife cherishes.Erik was incredibly easy to work with. Prices were also very reasonable compared to other stores and the ring was appraised for quite a bit more than paid. We also bought our bands from Boone & Sons and were extremely happy overall with this family run business.

I cannot tell you how much I LOVE Boone & Sons! I’ll try to be brief; the selection is unique. If they don’t “have” it, they can get it, create it or alter it. The customer service is friendly, attentive and timely - which, let’s face it, that’s a lost art amongst businesses of today. Originally we chose my engagement ring in 2012 when I first met David. If you didn’t have the pleasure of meeting him, all I can say is that is personality was larger than life! Unfortunately in 2018, my ring was stolen and I contacted Boone & Sons to have it recreated. Yes, I wanted the exact same ring. I was deeply saddened when I learned of David’s passing after checking the website. I contacted the store directly and spoke with Kay, who spent the next 2 months working with my insurance company, the manufacturer of my original mounting and GOD only knows who else, to get me as close as possible to my original ring. Most of all, she kept me updated all along the way. My replacement ring is absolutely exquisite! You can barely tell that it’s not the exact same ring!

Did a wonderful job creating a custom engagement ring and getting a special order wedding band

I had my custom engagement ring made here and I am just over the moon about it! Ive been wearing it for 2 years now and I still absolutely adore it. I was working with my moms pear shaped center stone diamond and having it reset. I stopped in at least 5 other places to talk about ideas/get quotes. Right off the bat Boone & Sons was different. Knowledgeable, direct, willing to go down the rabbit hole of my ideas but steer me back to things that would work. I worked directly with Erik Boone and it just felt like chatting with an old friend. An old friend who knows EVERYTHING about jewelry! Erik was so incredibly helpful with opinions, ideas, etc and REALLY listened to my (at times ridiculous) idea and helped incorporate them. I came by 3 or 4 times before pulling the trigger, with a different style in mind entirely, but after trying on more vintage looking rings and talking with Erik about possibilities zeroed in on what I REALLY wanted and it was a complete 180 from my original idea. After talking me through series of gut checks, I felt completely certain and super excited about what we came up with.My final design was a hodgepodge of things/pictures we had talked about and basically completely custom from scratch. Erik and I went over every detail. Jose, the ARTIST that executed the work, did an exceptional job. I just feel so lucky to have worked with these two gentlemen. When my fiance and I came to pick up the ring, just... there are no words. It was better than I could have imagined. From start to finish, just an amazing experience.Oh yeah and price- GREAT and transparent. My fiance already ordered his wedding band from these guys, and Im contemplating a matching band to my gorgeous engagement ring. In short, as long as we are in DC, Ill never go anywhere else! Took in my broken necklace to fix the clasp, turns out it wasnt authentic gold and was told I could purchase a craft store clasp and bring it in for attachment. Debbie and Sara helped me fix it free of charge!

Took my girlfriends watch in for a battery replacement. $21.15 (high price) and they slipped in an envelop for me. I got home and it wasnt working (they say it was). Took it back and they say it needs a $95 cleaning. Other jewelers dont even charge you if the battery replacement doesnt work. Buyer beware.
